Micro-assembly, very unusual in design, in an aluminum "case":

Purpose - transformerless DC voltage converter (capacitor multiplier) with stabilization for power supply of varicap matrices in electronic tuning units for electronic equipment of wide application.

The microassembly was developed for the radio tape recorder Riga-111 (ML-6102) at the Orbita design bureau of the Radiotekhnika software. Lead development designer - A. Goryunov. The microassembly replaced the PN-15 unit used in previous models of equipment (Riga-104, Salyut-001, Riga-110). It was first produced in the RRR microelectronics shop, then, before the production of the ML-6102 radio tape recorder (1991) was completed, at the Elmira plant (formerly the Riga experimental plant of functional microelectronics) by Radiotekhnika PA.

Microassembly was also used in a copy of the Riga radio tape recorder produced at the Kurganpribor plant under the name Aelita-102. Microassembly was also used in the Medeo-102 radio tape recorder produced by the Petropavlovsk radio plant named after V.I. Kirov.

As a power source for the varicap matrix in the electronic tuning unit of the radio receiver, the 04EM002 microassembly has a number of advantages over the PN-16 unit that is currently widely used for this purpose. It is much smaller in size and weight, has a reduced level of electromagnetic radiation, no high-pitched sound accompanying its operation, three times higher efficiency (70%), and expanded limits of supply voltage and operating temperature make it possible to use the microassembly in car radios.

Structurally, the microassembly is made in the form of a board with components manufactured using hybrid integrated circuit technology. The board is placed in an aluminum shielding casing and sealed with a compound.

The voltage converter consists of a multiplier containing a seven-section diode-capacitor circuit with a capacitor recharge control unit, and a negative feedback circuit to stabilize the output voltage.

The most common failure is transistor breakdown. This breakdown can only be determined by removing the transistors from the circuit and checking them with a tester. Overall transistor junction resistance

400-700 Ohm. Burning out, the transistor pulls a resistor in the base circuit with a nominal value of 30 ohms.

There is also a fuse or a low-resistance 2-5 Ohm resistor on the board, most likely it will have to be replaced, which will end the repair. You may additionally have to change the diode bridge or its elements.

Rarely is the breakdown of 47n film capacitors (microfarad floor) or a resonance capacitor in the filament circuit. There have been cases when all of the above is intact and in good order, but the lamp does not work, the reason lies in the DB3 dinistor. If you checked all the elements of the circuit, then try replacing the dinistor.

Perhaps you decide that it will be cheaper to buy a new electronic ballast than to repair a broken one.
