Once in the fall, having properly ignited, I noticed that when switching from 1st gear to 2nd gear, slip occurs (and only at high speeds). Well, well, I reconciled myself, I drove like a pensioner (in this case, slipping did not bother me).

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

So I drove for another couple of months ... then it feels like, while you are driving smoothly, you don’t press the gas, the car accelerates, but as soon as you press the pedal sharply, the speed jumps, but the car does not accelerate .... One day I decided to demonstrate this problem to my friend. I pressed it to the floor, and the car was barely moving, stopped at a traffic light and couldn’t move anymore ... .. the box died 🙂
I went to a specialized service that repairs boxes, to find out how much the repair will cost. I was given a figure of about 50t.r. (with the words that only the body will remain from my box - I questioned this statement, because if you count all the NEW spare parts for the box, more than 100t.r will come out). and didn't like the attitude. A contract box was offered to me for 45t.r. (but this is a pig in a poke - there are no guarantees that I will not have to replace it even after a month). So I decided to do it myself (I had no experience before).

I will not describe the removal of the box, as this is really a big "hemorrhoids"! I didn’t have a winch to hang the box over my ears, whoever knows will understand what this means. I removed it with the help of 4 jacks, first the subframe, the front suspension, the drive, then the box (I broke the chip of the linear pressure solenoid (I was able to solder everything - but that's another story))

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

He took off the box, drained the oil from the box and the torque converter (a donut in the common people) - pumped it out with a syringe. Nothing was found in the oil, neither dust nor metal shavings, only burnt black oil. An external examination showed that the transformer was in order, there was no tint of the metal (the metal turns blue from overheating).

The analysis of the box began, removed the plastic end cap, under it was the connector to the position sensor (inhibitor if I'm not mistaken). Remove the connector, remove the position sensor. We unscrew the cover with 10 bolts and see:

We remove the gears (parking - left-hand thread, and the input shaft gear), remove the parking pawl, set the shift lever with a slot on the housing, open the retaining ring of the secondary shaft (otherwise the housing will not be removed.) Remove the solenoids cover, remove the wiring of the solenoids and the main terminal block.

We unscrew 19 bolts around the perimeter of the case and remove
case (it is removed with effort) and then we see:

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

Remove the gear from the intermediate shaft, the reverse gear fork. Remove the filter (two bolts unscrew). I couldn't resist breaking it open to see what was inside.

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

That's actually the reason for the loss of pressure.
Go ahead. We remove the oil scraper plate, the shift lever, all the tubes, now we need to carefully and simultaneously pull out all three shafts, then remove the differential.
According to the Honda Accord shop2003 instructions (there is a download link on the forum), we check the differential for gaps, disassemble the shafts in the same way according to the instructions, and remove the friction packs. And here it is. The clutches of 2nd and 4th gears burned out just in the trash, the disks are blue, the clutches crumbled in the photo did not work out very well.

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

I am going to buy steel discs and clutches and both filters, 2 gaskets. Friction discs must be soaked in oil before installation.

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

We collect the packages, collect the shafts and put them aside.

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

Let's start cleaning the box. I want to be careful. Do not wash the box with acetone-based cleaning fluids (as it is written in the instructions and people say). I bought 4 liters of gasoline and a brush and it started 🙂

We remove the servo valve (14 bolts), carefully rinse everything, remove the pistons of the hydraulic accumulators, rinse, study for scoring, gusts of sealing gum, etc.. Dry and assemble everything in the reverse order.

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

We remove the main regulator (9 bolts), we also wash everything, study it, and dry it.

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

We remove the main valve block (carefully there are 2 balls and one check valve on the spring, do not lose, the balls should never be magnetized).

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

We disassemble the valve block, pull out all the pistons, there are 8 of them, we study for wear or tear, we measure the springs according to the manual described above. collect in reverse order. Be sure to lubricate all pistons with oil.

We wash all metal plates, hydraulic channels, bearings, remove two pump gears, check the clearances.

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

At the same time I change the oil seal (I forgot what it is called, where the torque converter is inserted). We assemble in reverse order.

Pump gears, metal plate, main valve block, 2 balls, bypass spring valve, metal plate, reactor shaft.
We put the main regulator, the servo valve in place, install the filter (be sure to fill it with oil!)

We put oil pipes, put down the differential, install all three shafts together (do not break the oil scraper plate).

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repairImage - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

We lay down a new gasket before cleaning and drying the place under it! I oiled all the working parts.

We put on the housing, do not forget to open the retaining ring of the secondary shaft, make sure that the ring then sits in the bearing groove on the shaft.
We put on the parking gear (I strongly recommend that you observe all tightening torques! - they are all described in the manual), the input shaft gear.

We assemble the gear lever mechanism and the parking dog.
Periodically turning the shafts and making sure that everything rotates without problems.

We put a new gasket on the side cover and close it. We put the wiring of the solenoids in place, the input shaft speed sensors, the solenoid, everything is in place (I didn’t change the gaskets under them because they didn’t break and looked fit).
We change the filter on the cooling tubes (you also need to fill it with oil)
We expose the position sensor of the gear lever (everything is described in the manual).

Pour oil into the torque converter (I didn’t measure it, I poured about half a liter) and put it in a box.

According to the manual, 6.5 liters of oil are poured into the repaired box. First filled with 5 liters, started the engine, warmed up, set the level. (ON THIS HONDA OIL IS MEASURED WITH THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN)

And the Moment of Truth…..lever in D and…..she went. lever in R and I didn’t even realize that she switched, no sound, no push and went.
I read that a small break-in is necessary (it’s easy to drive 10-20 kilometers so that the oil passes through the entire system and expels excess air).

And then I stepped on the gas. It's not a car, it's a rocket - it's never traveled like that. NO kicks or slips, you don’t feel the switch, only you can see on the tachometer needle, Just heaven and earth!

1. Internal filter - 1200
2. External filter - 1000
3. Friction disc 9 x 350 = 3150
4. Steel disc 8x450 = 3600
5. Gasket large 1300
6. Gasket small 900
7. Oil Honda ATF-Z1 4l 2100х2= 4200
8. Oil seal - 800

Gasoline, brush, oil syringe, 34 socket, puller, cigarettes, etc. 1000r.

Repair of automatic transmission Honda Accord with a guarantee from six months to 2 years

Honda Accord automatic transmission overhaul is a procedure that every vehicle owner would like to avoid. But many neglect the simplest rules for operating a car and bring it to an expensive repair of the Honda Accord 7 automatic box.

Prices are indicative, call for exact pricing.

Aggressive driving style, the assumption of oil starvation - all this, of course, does not affect the health of the mechanism in the best way. And at the same time, add far from the best operating conditions due to the quality of Russian roads. In addition to following the simple rules for operating a car, in order to prevent early repair of the Honda Accord automatic transmission, you should pay attention to such negative manifestations as:

  • Jerks when shifting gears Honda Accord
  • Switching to emergency mode Accord
  • The presence of noise, tapping, vibration in the gearbox

If the repair procedure cannot be avoided, you can carry it out in our car service at an affordable cost for repairing the Accord automatic transmission. Repair is carried out for cars of various models: Accord 6, Accord 7, Accord 8, Accord 9. We also work with all common transmission models for Honda Accord, namely MAXA, B7XA, MCTA, BCLA, BAYA, MAYA.

Before performing the procedure, our employees diagnose the Honda box. During the repair of the Honda Accord automatic transmission, the owner of the car can be present at the disassembly stage in order to see which parts need to be replaced and agree on all the features regarding new parts.

If your car needs an urgent Honda Accord automatic transmission repair, but it is not possible to come on your own due to a car malfunction, we will help you to evacuate the car to our car service center for free. Do not forget about the timely oil change in the Honda Accord automatic transmission.

In the event of a major overhaul, the gearbox is dismantled from the vehicle. At this stage, the mechanic carefully inspects the condition of all systems serving the gearbox, power unit mounting supports, etc.

After dismantling from the car, the automatic transmission enters the overhaul site. It should be noted that in this section, as well as in all the previous ones, experienced craftsmen who have a higher technical education (engineering and physics) work. Here, the Honda Accord automatic transmission is being repaired, and after washing and drying all the parts, their fault detection is carried out, i.e. the possibility of further use of each part or the need to replace it is determined.

If desired, any customer can be present both during the disassembly of the gearbox and during the inspection of its parts. At the end of this procedure, a list of replaceable parts is compiled, which is then necessarily agreed with the customer. It should be especially noted that during the overhaul, it is necessary, regardless of the condition of the automatic transmission, to replace all seals and gaskets. The use of original spare parts only from manufacturers of gearboxes increases the service life of a remanufactured Honda Accord automatic transmission, but leads to a significant increase in the cost of spare parts. To achieve the most optimal combination of “price-quality” ratio allows the use of “aftermarket” parts, i.e. companies specializing in the production of spare parts for automatic transmissions.

Installation is made taking into account all technical requirements. At this stage, the failed fastening elements and auxiliary transmission maintenance systems are replaced. In addition, during installation, preliminary adjustments are made to the elements of the external part of the control system.

Output diagnostics and running-in of the car. They are carried out according to the same methods as the input diagnostics. In addition, all previously appeared fault codes are erased from the memory of the control unit.

If you need a very urgent response, it's best to call. Ask a Question

Good day. Please tell me about this issue. Honda Accord 8 2.4 2008 car. this checkpoint does not switch above 3. You turn off the car and start it and only the check remains on. And the checkpoint works fine. After throwing off errors after 400-500 km, the story repeats. Please tell me what it could be and what to prepare for? Thanks in advance

We were visited Honda CR-V, this is a compact crossover equipped with an automatic transmission model MZHA - 5-speed automatic transmission family from Honda.

The car came to us NOT under its own power, it was brought by our free tow truck , because the car did not move under its own power either forward or backward. Computer diagnostics revealed three errors, and all three were on the solenoids, plus the smell of burnt oil signaled a strong overheating of the automatic transmission for a long time.

It was decided to carry out troubleshooting of the automatic transmission

Image - Automatic transmission honda accord do-it-yourself repair

During the troubleshooting, defects were identified, namely:

-Burned clutch packs;
- Strong wear of the main pressure valve;
- Faulty torque converter (cranked freewheel).

In general, it should be noted that automatic transmissions on Hondas break down extremely rarely. This is not the most common repair, so many services simply don’t take on the repair of such boxes, and if they do, they don’t even know where to start troubleshooting, because. the structure of these CPs is quite different from the classical ones. Trust your car to professionals.

Our masters repaired this automatic transmission in a short time, and after some time the car returned to the roads of our city.

And this little Honda Jazz came to us with noise from the variator, during the disassembly we saw a broken variator bearing, which was “scattered all over the variator ..

They also tested the solenoids, and found several faulty ones, which also affected the correct operation of the variator itself.

Replaced a set of consumables, bearings, and installed working solenoids, the problems are gone!

GEARMATIC - partial and overhaul of Honda Accord automatic transmission in Moscow with a guarantee.

If you feel that the box is not behaving as usual, then you should diagnose the Accord automatic transmission, we list the typical symptoms of a malfunction that signal a possible imminent breakdown:

  • slip (slip)
  • a signal appeared on the instrument panel - automatic transmission emergency mode
  • constant or intermittent vibration (check cushions as well)
  • jerks when shifting down / up in any of the gears, twitches when cold or hot
  • no gears, missing gear
  • punches in the transmission, kicks
  • slows down, slows down, makes noise

Also, do not forget to do the maintenance of the Accord automatic transmission in time (at least changing the oil (ATF) and filter, in advanced cases - flushing the valve body), still calling on the bulkhead is a more expensive undertaking. Periodically check the oil level in your gearbox yourself (if you have a dipstick). Be sure to warm up the box in winter, at least when driving at low gas (if you are in a hurry).

If you have a malfunction or breakdown of the Honda Accord 9 8 7 6 automatic transmission and you want to ask a question (on maintenance, diagnostics, problem solving), want to leave a review about the transmission on this car (share with others), leave a review about our work - all this you can do using the comment form below.

Hello, please tell me why the light on the D panel instrument sometimes goes out, it happens that I can’t turn on the speed with P, and if it turns on, there is a jerk, and sometimes it turns on smoothly. And also, when I start the car, when I turn the ignition key, the car does not start immediately, but after a certain period of time, is it related to the automatic transmission. On R it happens, I can not pull out the key. Either everything works fine, then with interruptions, as mentioned above.
