The JF506E five-speed automatic transmission was widely adopted, and was installed on Japanese and European cars. This modification of automatic transmissions was installed on Mazda and Nissan cars. In Europe Automatic transmission JF506E known as 09A and was successfully installed on Audi, Volkswagen, Land Rover and Jaguar. The main purpose of this transmission model is for use with front-wheel drive vehicles with an engine, which have a volume of no more than 3.8 liters.
Gearbox JF506E has established itself as an extremely reliable and durable unit. Appearing in 1999, this transmission with minor modifications has existed on the conveyor for more than 10 years. All this speaks of its high technology, reliability and functionality. Depending on the modification, the automatic transmission had a different oil sump volume. For cars with a volume of not more than 2.5 liters, the volume of the valve body was about 5 liters. Whereas on modifications for a six-cylinder engine, the oil volume was more than 7 liters. We also note the use of a fully automatic valve body control system, which makes it possible to improve the cooling and lubrication of the gearbox. It should be noted that repair work with this modification of gearboxes is complex, which invariably leads to an increase in the cost of work. That is why it is recommended to follow the rules for the maintenance and operation of an automatic transmission, which will save you from the need for expensive repairs.

This modification of the five-speed gearbox has proven itself from the best side. At the same time, it should be noted that she has typical problems that manifest themselves for a run of 150 thousand kilometers or more. So, for example, if the valve body is damaged, shocks and jerks can be noted when shifting gears. It is recommended that at the first signs of a breakdown, contact the service centers, whose specialists will eliminate the existing malfunctions. The sooner you contact a service workshop, the easier it will be to fix the existing breakdown.

Is it really just I collected all the troubles on this box !?
or everyone is busy, that there is no time to write?
guys!
help please !?
dealt with vibration too.
incorrectly adjusted the gap under the lid, there was an extra 0.4 mm.
Here is the effect.
with a minimum gap, some efforts are felt, so I'm thinking of doing more or not?
got out another problemma.
the machine drove 30 km and quite well. got up!
looked again today.
-on the cold, everything is fine.
warms up and pressure disappears. forward in any way, back a little.
while the cold stop test keeps excellent!
drowned out, waited a couple of minutes, started - again order.
but after a hundred meters he gets up.
I somehow observed such an effect with a clogged filter.
did the new filter die so quickly?

looked at the brain with a scanner
error - valve 2 freezing in the open position.
erased, drove for an hour, situations were repeated - the error did not come out.
valves are all new.
drives on a warmed-up car, then stops itself, the revolutions grow freely, there is no forward movement at all, a little backward.
immediately drowned out, instantly started everything is fine!
traveled a little, stops.
try something old valve.

threw the old valve B, without change.
can a pressure reducing valve behave like this?
still a loud buzzing appeared
I threw off the korobas, I will revise it again.

shook everything up once more.
everything rests on the valve body.
the pressure reducing valve is also in it.
found that Sonnax produces repair kits for 2 pistons in the valve body
started watching them.
it's not in vain that they sell them - it means they wear out, a problem place.
here they are:
it was just a slight wear
but this one was specifically jammed, barely pulled out.
scratches are visible on it, some kind of crap like rust
and wedged it just in the pressure relief position
I pushed him in both directions, but this is apparently not viable.
I’m thinking whether to buy a repair kit, or the entire valve body
I haven’t dealt with repair kits yet
is it worth it?
Are there any offices where the valve body can be repaired?
in conditions close to factory ones.

Paul. Are the solenoids removed one at a time when flushing, or do you need to pull off the hydraulic plate in order to flush the solenoids?

Where the brake bolt is correct. And then Sergei shows the drain, and Alexei Yudin says that the big hex is a brake.
Excellent engineering and a high reliability resource allowed the JF506E automatic transmission (in some catalogs it is indexed 09A) to be installed not only on native Japanese cars, but also on the British and Germans. My career box JF506E started with front-wheel drive Nissan in 1993, then began to appear on Jaguars, VW, Land Rovers, Ford Galaxy and Mondeos with volumes of 1.8 to 3 liters. For the most part, these boxes are similar, except for the filters of three standard sizes: the first is put on Mazda, Ford and Jaguars, the second on VW Sharan, Roveri Freelander, and the third on Audi all other VWs.
Typical faults in automatic transmission JF506E (09A):
- If you notice jerking or slipping - check the solenoids and hydraulic plate. The early valve body design is extremely picky about oil cleanliness and elevated temperatures, which can shorten the life of the valve. Hard gear shifting indicates serious problems with the valve body, which in advanced cases requires a complete replacement.
- In an effort to design a luxury gearbox, capturing the budget class, the engineers of this "five-step" made an omission in the solenoid design. So, the resource of the EPC solenoid is extremely small for the conditions of our operation, and its replacement accounts for about half of all malfunctions of this automatic transmission. Masters recommend replacing the entire set of solenoids every 100-130 thousand kilometers.
- Lack of ATF cooling on Jaguar, VW and Rover models. Owners of Ford and Mazda cars are more fortunate in this regard, since ATF and TCM computer settings are designed much more reliably on these brands.
- Typical problems of the "iron" of the JF506E (09A) automatic transmission are the wear of the wall of the aluminum piston of the drum and the groove of the Teflon rings, which can cause the clutch pack to burn out.
On the "oldies", the Hub Reversi hollow shaft may become unusable.
