The car came to us on its own, but as is often the case with sores, namely:

-slipping 3rd and 5th gear.

Let's first tell you a bit about this gearbox: the 6-speed automatic transmission family from GM 6T30E “Hydra-Matic” is a modern family of the generation of front-wheel drive transmissions, which has been installed since 07 on cars of such brands as Chevrolet, Buick, more often of course it was installed on Opel Astra, Saab , and of course Cruz, and Aveo.

As is usually the case, we removed the automatic transmission, and carried out a troubleshooting, the malfunction turned out to be typical for this type of automatic transmission, namely the problem of the 3-5-R clutch, this is a “childhood disease” of these automatic transmissions with which we are able to fight.

A set of gaskets also fell under the replacement, and spare parts necessary for repairing, only if all consumables are replaced, you can be sure of repairing your automatic transmission.

At the end of the repair, we gave the car to a satisfied client and he left the walls of our service with a guarantee for the work done!

The essence of this problem with this 6-speed automatic transmission made by GM is a childhood illness, namely, when peak torque loads are reached, a wavy spring bursts, it is also a “Belleville spring”. As a result of such a breakdown, the entire clutch package begins to dangle and often leads to the failure of the sun gear sleeve. Also, among the malfunctions, a broken chain damper was noticed, also known as plastic diff protection.

As a result, the following fell under the replacement:

Gasket set;
-Drum 3-5-R (wear);
-Spring disc;
-Oil and filter.

I also had to perform the maintenance of the torque converter in order not to return to the automatic transmission repair any more, and to carry out all the adaptations, including setting the level and oil expiration date through electronic diagnostics.

Clients received a 1.5 year warranty for the work performed

The client came to the diagnostics and complained that the gearbox seemed to "jam", go into "tightness" and it worked better in the low gear mode.

We carried out electronic diagnostics which showed that there was an error in the 5th gear, namely
– P0735 (5th gear incorrectly adjusted)
And an error on the gearbox control unit P0700 (transmission control system, malfunction).

Troubleshooting showed burnt out friction discs, brake band, brake drum, pump and control unit AW55-51.

We carried out a major overhaul of this box, and the owner received a 1.5 year warranty for the repaired unit!

The car came to us with an error in the TCM (Transmission Management) system and we almost immediately started troubleshooting the box.

After troubleshooting, we found a standard sore for this gearbox (6T30), namely a faulty 3-5-R clutch. This happens due to the fact that the spring disk often does not withstand sudden starts and accelerations and simply bursts when the peak torque is reached.

As a result, the entire clutch package begins to "dangle" and leads to the failure of the sun gear sleeve, and malfunctions of the drum itself.

Also in this case, the chain damper (plastic protection) has become unusable.

The amount of refurbishment of this box was 88 thousand rubles, for this money the client received essentially a new automatic transmission with a guarantee 1.5 years!

One of the few examples when the 6T40 series automatic transmission is killed to such a state. Chevy Orlando car, 2012 onwards, with mileage of 214.000 km.This is already a pretty good indicator.

Even with this mileage, the symptoms were very "modest" - this Chevrolet Orlando disappeared (R) back, disassembled and were surprised how the car generally moved under its own power!

Completely burnt out steel discs, which have changed their structure and geometry. Broken spring disc, plastic protection. And even a "sun gear".

The replacement included: Pistons, spring discs, retainers, planetary gear, freewheel, bushing kit, 3-5-R drum, sun gear, almost everything that had to be replaced, the photo shows the extent of the damage .. do not bring the car to this! Surprisingly, the valve body as a whole left a good impression, and in order to save the client's money, it was decided to leave it.
