And if not, then - look at the flashing indicators of the front control panel!

F01 - Lost signal between control board and motor.

Make sure that the mains voltage is stable. It must be at least 210 Volts.

The motor control circuit is a rather capricious component of the washing machine mechanism. It would be nice to independently check the contacts for corrosion and the presence of moisture. It is advisable to check every connection from the control board to the motor. It is possible that the problem may arise even from a detached motor block.

With a tester, we measure the control voltages on the motor block.

Perhaps the thyristor has become unusable. Check the motor terminals.

F02 - no signal from the engine tachogenerator and the electronic module.

We also check the engine block and the module connector.

We make sure that the tachogenerator is working:

The resistance of the contact group in a quiet state should be about 70 ohms. Without removing the probes from the terminals of the coil leads, rotate the motor shaft. The resistance must change. If this happens, then the tachogenerator is working.

F03 - breakage of the temperature sensor (thermistor), closing of the washing heater relay.

The sensor itself rarely fails. Usually there is no signal from the board (temperature sensor connector contacts)

F05 - the drain pump or pressure switch (level sensor) does not work.

80 percent is to blame for a blockage (filter, drain hose) or a pump.

We clean the filter by removing the front panel with a flat screwdriver and wrap it around:

We put the washing machine on its side and separate the pipe from the tank and pump:

If error F05 pops up again - the reason is in the electrician, namely why is the pumping pump not working?

We take the multimeter in our hands and by running the drain program we measure the voltage at the pump terminals. It should be equal to 220 volts.

His presence tells us about the replacement of the pump.

F06 - in Diagnostic models, indicates non-working buttons.

A rare mistake, and here everything is clear.

F07, F08 - the heating element is not in the water, does not work (burnt out or breakage).

Make sure there is water in the tank by looking into the drum. Next, having removed the back wall, check the heating element with a tester:

F04, F08 - pressure switch (water level switch).

The presence of a signal from the connector J3.

Check the condition of the level sensor:

– contacts-2-4 are closed – “EMPTY TANK” level
– contacts 2-3 are closed – “FULL TANK” level
– contacts 2-1 are closed – “OVERFLOW” level (not less than half of the loading door glass level.

Remove the top cover by unscrewing the two screws at the back. This sensor is on the top:

Why is he needed?

To adjust the water level in the tank: low, medium and high. It also provides protection against overfilling the tank.

How to check?
We just blow into it. Clicks should be heard. There may be three of them. Depends on the water levels provided by the program: economical, delicate, half load.

F09 The memory card of the electronic board is faulty.

F10 - water intake time exceeded.

The filler pipe from the detergent cuvette to the tank may be clogged, the water inlet valve does not work properly.

Also check the level sensor (see above).

F11 drain pump problem.

The resistance of the pump winding should be about 170 ohms - measure with a tester.

F12 - there is no signal between the control board and the program selector.

Perform an external inspection of the board for damage to the elements.

If burnt nodes are not identified, diagnostics of the control module is required, its flashing.

F13, F14, F15 the drying heater is faulty (washers where there is a drying function).

F16 - the breakdown is related to the blocking of the drum (top-loading machines).

F17 - hatch lock problem.

No power to the door lock - ring the contacts.

H20 - no water flow error.

In addition, check the water pressure at the inlet of the solenoid inlet valve and its serviceability.

Do not forget to clean the collector between the motor lamellas. They are covered with an abundant layer of graphite dust. It must be removed. The best way to do this is with a vacuum cleaner. The engine manifold should be cleaned with the abrasive part of the dishwashing sponge, and the degree of wear should be visually checked.

We install the engine in place, stick the connectors, but do not put on the drive belt. It is necessary to perform the lapping procedure of the brushes without load. To do this, we start the spin mode at the minimum available speed, visually and aurally controlling the operation of the engine. It should be smooth and without excessive sparking. Then we put on the belt, and once again start the spin cycle at minimum speed with an empty drum.
  • Water is not supplied, the drum is not spinning (motor is not running):

  1. Pull out the pump filter.
  2. Start the Spin program.
  3. Use a flashlight to look into the hole.

In some situations, a banal blockage in the drain pipe can force the user to turn to machine repair specialists when it would be more correct to turn to plumbers. And if everything is in perfect order, then it will be necessary to disassemble the machine, clean the nozzles and the pump. To remove the pipe, you will need to loosen two clamps, and to remove the pump, you will need to disconnect it from the sensors and unscrew the two fasteners.

If any malfunction occurs, the Hotpoint Ariston “washer” gives an error with a certain code displayed on the screen. It is very important to correctly recognize the error codes of Ariston washing machines, because this is a direct clue indicating the cause of the breakdown.

To check the filling valve, you need to remove the top cover of the Hotpoint Ariston machine by unscrewing the two fasteners. The valve is located at the junction of the inlet hose with the body of the machine. First of all, we check the gaskets, if they are intact, then you need to measure the resistance of the device, and for this you will have to use a multimeter. We install the probes on the contacts of the filling valve and check. The device should show approximately 30 to 50 ohms.

A defective filling valve should be replaced with a similar one; self-repair is not possible. The replacement itself is done very quickly, we unscrew the old valve from the body and screw in the new one, not forgetting to connect the sensors. It is worse if the pump fails, because this is a rather expensive part.

A faulty pump gives itself out during washing, when the machine should drain the water, but it does not, while the pump either does not make any sounds at all, or it buzzes, but the murmur of the drained water is not audible.

Note! Strictly speaking, these symptoms are superficial and may be indicative of other problems (eg electronics), but it should make you think to check the pump first.

In the Hotpoint Ariston washing machine, it is located at the bottom and you can get to it through the bottom. It is better to check and replace the drain pump by a specialist, but you can do everything yourself, the main thing is to thoroughly study the progress of work.

The heating element is an important part of the washing machine, responsible for the temperature of the water in the tank, and therefore for the quality of the wash. If the heating element is faulty, the wash either does not start at all, and the system gives an error, or the wash is performed in cold water. Both should prompt you to check and replace the heating element in the Hotpoint Ariston washing machine.

Checking the heating element of the Ariston washing machine is not difficult at all. It is necessary to deploy the machine, in the lower part of the rear wall there is a service hatch, which is attached to the clamps and several self-tapping screws. We unscrew the screws, and squeeze the latches with a screwdriver, after which the cover will be removed. Behind the lid, under the tank, you will see two large contacts with a fastener in the middle - this is the heating element. We unscrew the screw, and then we begin to pull the heating element towards ourselves, pulling it out with shaking movements.

Note! Before pulling out the heating element, it’s a good idea to measure the resistance with a multimeter, perhaps the device is working, and you don’t need to touch it.

As we have already noted, failures of bearings and seals are the most rare malfunctions of Ariston washing machines. However, if this happens, urgent action must be taken. Recognizing such a breakdown is not difficult. When the bearing is destroyed, the moving elements begin to make unpleasant sounds, the shaft begins to rub against the bushing, which leads to wear. And if you do not take any measures and continue to wash, then this can lead to the fact that the drum will begin to play and damage the tank.
