Do you love to make repairs the way I love to do it?

Here you can read everything about the everyday life and holidays of a simple humble repairman.

All articles are written honestly and as they really are. This is not a “renovation school”. Experience is experience. What is really here.

I heard it is popular to upload reports on the renovation of your apartment or the construction of a summer cottage.

Since I myself am expecting to settle in an apartment without finishing in a new building, I rummaged on YouTube on the topic, found the channel of this peasant (like from Moscow), broadcasts about repairs with his own hands, occasionally humorous and criticizes some jambs in a new building and after poor-quality repairs. I think it will be useful and interesting for many. In no case is it advertising, I live in another city, finally, I did not offer kickbacks (which is a pity)))

For example, a vidos about drilling holes in a tile (what I was looking for myself):

P.S. I did not find a community of repairmen and anything like that (only for electronics and arduino), I give someone the idea of a community like "home renovation".

It’s not interesting to watch other people's reviews, come on)) I have a little history of my own repair, from scratch, but I don’t have the courage to file the post, or laziness))

I have to wait at least until autumn for the beginning of my story. In the meantime, I stock up on theoretical knowledge on the topic)

He also sat like that, tormented himself with contradictory vidos, some say one thing, others another. It was lucky that two good friends were builders, and they helped with advice, sometimes with trifles - to put lighthouses there, to make markings for the ceiling.Brother the builder also helped well to put the walls together with him.

Straight-handed friends are always good. But the whole trouble is that of my friends, that very straight-handed - I myself. ) The rest have problems with working with their hands.

I have a house - a new building-long-term construction, so the neighbor's repairman himself pestered me with advice)) sometimes he pissed me off straight, I found time from work, ran for a few hours to do something about it, he was right there, but coffee came, and you try for 40 minutes culturally, I don't want to be rude, sometimes I advised sensible things))

Well, if sometimes they are efficient, then it is no longer in vain that coffee was spent))

Everyone who started home renovations, knows how difficult it is - from the search for an idea to its implementation. Fortunately, now it's easy to find any information about design and decor - from the vast expanses of Pinterest and Instagram to special resources. For those who are not satisfied with the famous Apartment Therapy, Design Milk and Inmyroom, we have collected a few more sites and blogs about renovation and design.

Decor8 is Holly Becker's blog dedicated to design. Here you can find tips on decor, stories about interesting interiors and designers, mood boards for inspiration, DIY tips, as well as a whole section on the role of color in the interior. Lonny is an online interior design and decor magazine. There are stories about impressive houses and apartments, decorating tips and how to decorate your home with your own hands, and how to live in a renovated home - for example, "How to buy groceries like an adult." For those who are not in the mood to read and are used to Pinterest, Lonny has a gallery with different interiors.

Enjoy Home is a Russian design studio. The site contains not only information about her projects, but also a rather useful blog, where, in addition to the standard sections for such blogs, there is, for example, a section on movie interiors and useful books for those interested in design. There are also practical tips - for example, how to work with bright orange and dark blue colors in the interior. And inspiration can be drawn not only from American houses, but also, for example, from an apartment in Chertanovo.

An interior design website powered by an impressive team of editors and authors. There are practical guides for those who are starting renovations (unfortunately, so far only about kitchens and bathrooms), and a heading with the self-explanatory title "Steal this look". The editors also recommend repair and design specialists - albeit mainly in Europe and the USA.

American Grace Bonnie's blog Design * Sponge is over a decade old and has several editors working on it. It is dedicated not only to the interior, but also to travel, business and recipes - everything that fits into the concept of "lifestyle". The section on interior design deserves special attention: there is a gallery of interiors from which you can draw inspiration, as well as a section "DIY" with stories about interior remodeling. The editorial board pays special attention to the design of premises for people with disabilities.

Erin Himstra started a blog ten years ago to talk about the renovations in her house - that same apartment 34.Since then, Erin managed to move to San Francisco, and her blog has become an independent lifestyle publication. Erin's blog is worth looking at for inspiration (for convenience, the "Decor" section is divided into headings: bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, and so on), as well as to get ideas for design and life hacks - for example, how to replace the usual bedside table and how else to use tiles in the interior.

Coco Kelley founder Cassandra Lavalle also owns Emerald, an interior design and event design studio. The blog should look for tips on how to refresh and improve the existing interior, rather than starting from scratch - for example, how to combine posters with wallpaper with a pattern or use stripes in the interior.Lavallee explains the design principles with specific examples - so if you wish, it is easy to order the “same” lamp or pillow.

A well-known magazine about interior renovation and design - here you can find what most design blogs lack: for example, recommendations from professionals for renovating a wide variety of rooms and simple practical tips (how to deal with scratches on a wooden floor, how to fix a leaking faucet, etc.) ... Plus lots of photos of interiors and ideas for inspiration, as well as tips for gardening - it can take hours to study the materials.

Ivybush is primarily a catalog of furniture and accessories from various online stores, collected in one section, but not only: there is also a guide to different styles in the interior, and examples of interiors. Perhaps the most useful section is advice on repair and planning: for example, what to think about when planning repairs in Khrushchev (or any small apartment), and also what to consider when combining a kitchen and a living room in one room.

We all strive to ensure that the interior of our apartment or house was unique, but in practice it often turns out differently - remember in how many houses you have seen the “Billy” rack or “Bedinge” sofa. IKEA Hackers is a site dedicated to how you can improve furniture from IKEA or use it in a new way: for example, how to modify a display cabinet or make a chandelier from a set of glasses. I'm not sure if it's worth experimenting this way with all IKEA purchases, but a few ideas can be taken into service.

This blog will not be very pretty, telling and showing how it all began. And it all started not bad at all. After a long stubborn search, I found it.

What kind of repairs are done in apartments? The Internet has given us a great opportunity to exchange experiences and share inspiration. Many interesting ideas would remain unrealized if people learned about the design of apartments only from thematic magazines or random visits to friends. Now everyone can find extensive collections on the Internet on the topic "apartment design, renovation photos", etc.

However, we offer you something more. In the section Personal experience, apartment renovation, photos, interiors are presented by those participants who were engaged in this renovation and created the interior with their own hands. Here you will find a design project for a studio apartment, a design for a two-room apartment or a townhouse, and just find out what interior styles are, apartments for large families, bachelors, young people and the elderly.

It is worth noting that there are different problems for dwellings of different sizes. The owners of large apartments often resort to the services of a designer who helps them manage free space and competently make redevelopment. However, sometimes the owners of three-, four- and five-room apartments decide to make repairs with their own hands, on their own, and at the same time achieve success. As a rule, the main thing in this situation is to maintain a single style, since sometimes do-it-yourself repairs are fraught with inconsistencies in details, when the design of the hall in the apartment does not match the bedroom in any way, the kitchen lives its own life, and the hallway and corridor have their own.

However, the interior of a small apartment is fraught with no less surprises. It is not for nothing that professionals believe that the design of a one-room apartment (photos of such projects are also presented on our website) requires no less effort and knowledge than large footage, where you do not need to fight for every centimeter.

This is where the idea of saving space comes to the fore. For example, not everyone will guess to place a bed in a niche or bay window, because for this, you may have to order furniture, develop a podium project with your own hands, and think over places for storing bedding. However, this will free up square meters in another part of the room, and you can, using real examples, see how a one-room apartment turns into a two-room apartment, and sometimes into a three-ruble note. When you review the numerous interiors of apartments with photos, you may have a new understanding of how to solve this or that problem.

It doesn't matter what you do - finishing the bathroom, repairing the kitchen with your own hands, repairing the room - a photo instruction will always be useful. If the repair is independent, the apartment always deserves attention, since even other people's mistakes are of great value: after seeing and analyzing other people's mistakes, you will not repeat them in your home. What can we say about master classes, which tells how to make a floor with your own hands, how to install partitions, suspended ceilings, etc.

Interior design of apartments is an unusual topic in which everything is of interest: the layout of a tiny studio, the interior of a one-room apartment, photos of spacious apartments, the nuances of choosing a color scheme, selection of interior accessories and much more. It is not the size of the dwelling that is important, the ideas that were used in their design are important.

Will you involve specialists in the design and renovation of the apartment? You decide. However, if you want to make repairs in an apartment on your own, be sure to study the personal experience of other people, learn about the interior design of apartments, and be interested in the technologies for performing work.

The site administration is not responsible for the statements and actions of site users on all pages of the site, as well as for the accuracy of the information they provide.

So, dear, hello buly! The report continues on the renovation of the apartment. Let me remind you that this is a kopeck piece in Nizhny Novgorod, 50 sq. Completely turnkey.
Dismantling of partitions and floors (and generally starting garbage collection) is over. The eight-ton container was filled with garbage)), plus the gazelle was loaded a little))
Some photos:
broken and almost cleaned kitchen

On the floor, the fucking PVC squares were glued, such as pseudo-tiles, which were fashionable a long time ago. I have come across such an old device on the floor for the second time in the last six months. How we tore them off, that's a separate story)) In fact, we were fucking good, but we did everything)
Image - DIY apartment renovation blog
The customers left the gas stove to us for a while. Well there, cook a meal and so on. Now she is sunbathing on the balcony))

Today I calculated the thickness of the screed, walking around the apartment with the “Capro” level, and it turned out to be an impressive weight category. About 12 cm.

We will make this rough screed from a mixture of M150 (sand-cement mixture with a plasticizer) with the addition of expanded clay of the finest fraction. To begin with, we bought 40 bags of the mixture and 20 bags of expanded clay, so as not to overwhelm the apartment.
Image - DIY apartment renovation blog

I have a professional mixer, but I'm afraid they won't mix such a volume. He will simply “die”. So we bought a concrete mixer.
Image - DIY apartment renovation blog

We always do waterproofing in the bathroom and toilet. But then the customer insisted that we walk through the entire apartment. As always, they worked with bitumen mastic. The kitchen and the room have already been missed, in front of the screed.
Image - DIY apartment renovation blog

We also broke the wall between the toilet and the bathroom to bring them together. Then they looked at the rotten wall between the bathroom and the corridor. We also looked at ahueli. The partition is half a brick, rotten and rotten. Fucked up!
I just waved the sledge hammer several times, and Andryukha the assistant collected this dust for half a day in bags and carried it out))

All the same, the bathroom and toilet are being completely redesigned, so it won't be difficult for me to make a couple of new walls.

Along the way, they beat off 3 layers of Soviet-style tiles. Tile and mortar are funny, but hard to carry.

Next, they put up beacons in the room and kitchen (having previously primed and coated with bituminous waterproofing).

Describe in more detail to me broke, I screwed up today! Therefore phot photo:

Here's what happened:
Image - DIY apartment renovation blog

In general, the room and the kitchen loomed. I will show you the floor filling one of these days. That's all for today, I'm tired and want to sleep.

Dear, I want to first tell you that I left the Nizhny Novgorod resource
I made my own forum there, but the leadership turned out to be more than inadequate. Now there is no forum or my account there.

Of course, it's a pity, fucking, the efforts that were spent on this forum, but oh well. It was not mine, the owners did as they saw fit. The server belongs to them, which means that I went in the cold.
But I really liked LJ, now I will publish all the materials here.

So, the repair of a two-room hut starts, on a turnkey basis, so to speak. Electrical, plumbing, plaster, wallpaper, and so on. I'll make it a rule to write at least 4-5 posts a week. I want to cover everything. In general, everything. The walls and floors have already been dismantled, an eight-ton container of garbage plus a gazelle has been removed. As always, we took it upon ourselves to organize everything, the customer just started coughing up finances and didn't think about anything further.

We figured that the screed on the floor would be quite thick (10-14 cm), so today we bought a concrete mixer. For such a volume to knead with a mixer or perforator is unrealistic.Tomorrow I will take a photo-video of what and how they did it. Until everyone, tired today like a dog!

Fingered photos from your taken objects and came across an interesting option. Small tiles 10 by 10, and in the middle there is also a panel. The matter was aggravated by the fact that the tiles were "designer" ones and had rather uneven edges. Well, as if on purpose. Moreover, it was slightly different in size (about a millimeter to the maxim). Well, okay, everything is done, the tiles hang and please customers. By the way, I was there not so long ago (a couple of weeks ago), nothing falls off anywhere, does not deform or “crack”. Great. Since I give a guarantee for work for at least 2 years and I would not want to go and redo something, but at my own expense. It is profitable to work qualitatively, I was convinced more than once.

So, I will describe this thing:

Well, the idea of releasing a small electronic magazine on a construction topic is firmly rooted in my head. I will try. The second issue started. There are as many as 30 subscribers. Well, yes, a little while))) Well, what did you want? But all Nizhny Novgorod residents, the target audience, so to speak. I believe in positivity and growth!

Improved the design, worked more seriously on the content, more or less, in my opinion. I am doing this for now, especially for the Nizhny Novgorod Forum, apartment renovation, it will be seen further. In general, I start to like the zhezheshechka.

I am from Nizhny Novgorod and we have such a popular resource there> This is a city portal with several hundred different forums. You can create your own private one.

Having spun around other small-town get-togethers, I decided to stir up my forum APARTMENT REPAIR. No sooner said than done. But the people there are not ice. Although there is a lot of visitors on the site itself, they do not really go to my private forum.

Yes, it is understandable, you can find his dick without half a liter. All new and private forums are shoving the world's ass out there. You can advertise it only for money (but the hell is it necessary if the forum is only nominally mine, but belongs to Jewish muzzle the owner of the resource?).

But there is an opportunity to join clubs and send mass messages to teammates (you can send 3 thousand spam messages or more at a time). So that's it. I decided to publish a small digest on the construction topic, issue it in PDF format and send it to everyone. Really useful info, not any hat.

And how, to beat, to find who is willing, and who is not very? I created a topic with this digest and sent the mailing list in private to 3 thousand Nizhny Novgorod bodies. Of course, I immediately learned a lot of new and interesting things about myself. Well, the fact that a spammer is worse than a fagot, and so on. I think that these people hate advertising to such an extent that they even quarrel with an advertising newspaper when they take it out of their mailbox.

Separately, I created a separate topic, unsubscribing in which the user is guaranteed not to receive more letters from me. Neither electronic nor paper scrolls with a wax seal, all the more so.

So. When the wave of shit and negativity subsided, I found a little over 20 subscribers to my future digest. It seems there is nothing. What are 20 people? But, I already understood that everything in this life is relative. 20 hairs on the head, that's not enough, but the same amount in the soup, that's how much fucked up!

So I will dare, improve my magazine and expand the audience on the forum. Allaverdy.

In general, according to SNiPs, if you are remodeling a bathroom (bathroom-toilet) or a kitchen and if these alterations include work with the floor, then waterproofing must be done!
I often see contractors (dashing guys in overalls) and customers (well, they just don't know) neglect this issue. Moreover, some workers will ardently convince that waterproofing in this particular case is not needed.
But, think for yourself, you are not stupid people, SNiPs (Building Norms and Rules) were not invented and written by fools, eh?
In general, I have a stock of articles on my computer (I collect them from the Internet), I will gradually spread them here, so I found about waterproofing. There she is.
In other words, this topic is for those who have something to ask and for those who have something to say.
So, in order not to multiply unnecessary topics - an introductory course on concrete waterproofing.

[ Press to know the truth! ]
To date, a vast experience has been accumulated in the organization of waterproofing facilities.
Modern waterproofing materials are divided into:
• mastic, coating;
• powder, solutions;
• rolled, sheet;
• film, polymembrane;
• penetrating insulation
• other

The waterproofing materials listed above have both advantages and disadvantages. For example, mastic waterproofing materials are short-lived. They lose their properties in the event of mechanical damage. The surface of the material to be insulated must be clean, and most importantly dry.
Mastics and sealants have low resistance to hydrostatic pressure. The durability of the waterproofing coating with some compounds and their toxicity leaves much to be desired.
The same can be said for other materials. Some do not have the necessary strength, some are too demanding of the specialists who apply them, others simply do not satisfy consumer needs.
So in more detail:

Now in Russia there are many new highly effective composite waterproofing materials.
Cement-sand mixtures, polymer cements, glass cements, asphalt concrete, activated shotcrete - this is an incomplete list of compounds for plaster waterproofing, which have a common disadvantage: if adhesion or mechanical damage in one area is broken, all waterproofing loses its meaning.
The listed materials belong to the category of traditional ones, used in construction earlier and still used today. Recently, however, they have been actively crowded into the market by technologies that solve the problem of waterproofing much more efficiently.

Water repellents are a relatively new type of waterproofing materials. The surface treated with a water repellent acquires pronounced water-repellent properties - the water simply rolls off without leaving a trace. When performing work - no special requirements for the moisture content of the treated surface, high adhesion. Water repellents are very effective, however, over time, the surface treated with these materials loses its water-repellent properties (water-based - after 1-3 years, solvent-based - after 5-10 years, depending on the operating conditions of the facility).
Water repellents do not have the property of self-healing new cracks, a relatively thin water-repellent layer (the depth of penetration of water repellents into the concrete body is no more than 5 mm) is gradually washed out.

Film, polymer membrane waterproofing materials

Film, polymembrane roll waterproofing materials are well known, for example, polyethylene film. These materials are distinguished by resistance to aggressive environments, durability, strength, elasticity. They are used in anti-seepage devices. Domestic polyethylene films are 0.2-0.4 mm thick. Foreign, so-called, geomembranes - 0.2-1 mm.

In general, this article gives a fairly complete and voluminous picture of waterproofing materials.
I wish you always dry floors and especially ceilings!))

Regular readers of this magazine know that a year and a half ago I independently made repairs to my apartment in 120 days. Here's a video, if you forgot: It has already collected almost a million views, which means it's not in vain. And here is a link to posts about the repair: In them I talked about all the stages, with photos and comments. The result is a voluminous talmud of knowledge and experience in repair for a beginner faced with repairs from the same amateur amateur amateur.

Hot on the heels, I was about to write a final post that would summarize this global (well, within the framework of my ideas) construction site. But for a good final post about renovation, as well as for wine, aging is necessary.

So, from March to July 2014, I independently, with my own hands, mastered the overhaul of my apartment.Every day I wrote a report on the work done, wrote more for my friends so that they would encourage and thus stimulate me to continue further, but the reports were noticed on the big Internet and a huge number of strangers became viewers of this “reality show”. They demanded continuation every day and were indignant when there were no posts. For me, this was a strong incentive not to quit my job, because I always wanted to. Somehow I am not used to such a load for many years of dust-free television activity.

Well, just in case, I'll immediately answer the question: “Why did you take so long, man, with the report?” The end of the renovation was powerfully relaxed and I didn't want to go back to it. New projects, shelving and so on ... But all this time, the posts served as a guide to action for many readers who found this blog after the completion of the renovation and decided to repeat it, inspired by what they read. Questions are still being poured into the mail and social networks. And even more people limited themselves to just watching the video and at once they had a lot of questions, and reading a hundred posts in LJ is not an easy task. Therefore, you often have to answer the same questions of the same type. And then laziness finally suggested what the final post should be. And in the form of a classic "question-answer". I collected the questions in a heap, averaged them, sorted them out and answered them at once. I hope this post will help new and old readers who are going to make repairs, but who still have questions.

So that you don’t get tired of reading a very long post, I’ll break it down into parts that will also be very long. I warned.

Final post. Part one.

Is the apartment alive, has something fallen off?

Almost two years have passed since the completion of the renovation. The apartment, fortunately, is still alive and in excellent, fresh condition. The paint and plaster are in place, and the walls are clean and white as after being painted. No, it's not that we don't get the walls dirty, it happens a couple of times a year. It's just that the dirt is quickly and easily washed off. The laminate did not come loose, including on the balcony. Class 34 Chinese laminate from Merlin turned out to be quite good.

The dry screed did not break through and the floor is still level, but I continue to observe. The sockets and lights are functioning, the plumbing is alive, the Ikeev furniture has not fallen apart. Moreover, a dog has been living with us for a year and a half. Name is Venya. The apartment is not only guarded, but also protected, thanks to him.

Why so long? I myself, slowly, with smoke breaks, for 2 months, working no more than three hours a day, I make a one-room apartment (kopeck piece, three-ruble note, house)

When you do the repair yourself, you clearly understand that those who brag about major repairs alone in a couple of months, either make cosmetic repairs, or this major repair is not so major. Or the person does not respect the neighbors at all.
I also planned to do it in 2 months, but when I started, I ran into difficulties: it turns out that I do not live in the house alone, but moreover, I am surrounded by apartments with young children and old people who have a quiet hour that is smeared over a long period of time, others already at the 5th house and asked not to make noise, etc. In this regard, it is easier for the brigades - they generally do not care about their neighbors, they cannot live with them, and the work must be done quickly. But if you are the owner and are going to live in one place for a long time, then the neighbors need to be respected, especially I had to start to respect the neighbors after a week of absolutely hellish dismantling, therefore, subsequently, noisy work was very limited by me in time from 10 am to 13 and from 15 to 17 ...

Invest a huge amount of time in the search and logistics of building materials. At first I thought, I’ll bring everything at once, and from one store, and I’ll save on delivery, well, I’ll rivet little by little. Nothing of the kind, building materials, even in insignificant quantities, occupy all the free space of the apartment at once, and the space should be free, the repair is the same. Therefore, the delivery of materials was small-dose and multi-stage.And of course, there was not that one cherished place from which it was possible to take everything out at once. The assortment is crooked everywhere, there is something, something is not, prices differ inexplicably. As a result, he bought most of the building materials in Leroy Merlin and delivered them to the apartment himself, and looked for large items with inexpensive delivery elsewhere. Shipping in Merlene is wildly expensive.

Following. Numerous little things. It turns out that any operation requires a certain type of tool, materials, consumables, components, etc. No, well, I diligently unified some things, for example, perlfix, which I used in almost any situation and which completely replaced any building mixture. Give me more will, I would put tiles on it and rub the seams on it. Therefore, saving time on purchases did not work out, and I was in Le Roy Merlin almost daily throughout the entire period of the repair. Constantly something was missing in detail or was necessary for a new stage of work. This is not counting trips to Ob, and then to Ikea, when it was necessary to fully equip the apartment with furniture and calculate every centimeter of space, but simply studying the site was not enough, there were always nuances that required a thing to “touch and measure”.

By the way, construction hypermarkets are a great place to think about repairs, you walk around looking at the assortment and immediately realize that with this wonderful tool or material you will immediately solve all the accumulated problems, well, a lot of ideas for implementation come when you see adaptations for these ideas.
Part of the time was spent on careful photographing of all processes, not to mention the constant video recording for time-lapses. Well, and the daily writing of posts in the middle of the night, upon returning from construction hypermarkets. Analyzing these production rhythms after 2 years, I find these rhythms the most adorable. This I still do not take into account the time to study the materiel and long test picks, so as not to screw up the finishing process.

I felt sorry for the neighbors. See above.

Smells like a real mess. Three (four) healthy men for 120 days did not work anywhere, but were building an apartment? What is it like? Well, I understand we have saved up money for materials. And then everyone took a vacation for 120 days? P ... .. (not true).

The video creates the feeling that a lot of people have worked with me, but I did most of the work myself, alone, without help.

During the dismantling, the workers helped me to take out several tons of garbage. Zhekovsky plumbers installed taps. Stretch ceiling installers installed ceilings and air conditioner installers installed air conditioner. Well, delivery suppliers of building materials constantly flicker in the frame. Also my stepfather Andrey, brother Pasha and wife Nadia with their son Fedya helped me a lot.

They helped as they found free time. A couple of hours a day or on weekends. I was the only one on vacation. Andrey helped a lot at the first stage. I shared my experience and knowledge. Especially in the field of plastering.

I did not shoot the video all the time I was at the facility, but only during the moments of the working process. Much in the final video was left behind the scenes, for example, the whole routine, when I alone poke around for several hours in one place, and nothing happens in the frame.

As far as I understand, you've probably done repairs before, right?

No, all my experience in repairing was in the usual small household chores - to hang a shelf, a curtain, assemble a bedside table with a stool from Ikea, etc. All knowledge on repair technologies was taken by me from YouTube, I have not even read almost a single article. All processes are popularly explained in numerous videos, you just choose the technology you like, which you can absorb and absorb. But the posts of a famous blogger pushed me to self-repair Image - DIY apartment renovation blog

victorborisov , who very long ago, in 2008, did a major overhaul of the apartment, and later built the house himself. Well, since “some blogger” can, then I probably can, I thought then.

Where does the knowledge about the process come from? Did you have experience or did you learn everything on the way?

He studied 2 months before the repair on YouTube videos. Any forums, scientific articles and even more so books (on repair, of course) are evil, it is better not to read them at all, it will completely discourage the desire to build and repair, I do not know why, but this feeling arose after reading a couple of dozen articles by specialized authors. It is very rare to come across a simple text adequate for a beginner. On YouTube, they will immediately show you the technology and tell you, screwing up after that is already more difficult in practice. Important! DO NOT READ COMMENTS ON YUTUBE! Usually there is hell and Israel, a bunch of inadequate and couch experts and their opinions are more likely to confuse than be useful. And yes, you need to watch a dozen videos using one technology. I gave preferences to ordinary simple masters who will explain and show in a simple, worldly way. Of course, first you should watch all the videos of Alexei Zemskov, be deeply inspired by his skill and ability to speak, then you need some time to realize your insignificance, and then go watch the videos of ordinary masters and look for technologies and tools that you can afford.

Undoubtedly, Hilty is an excellent tool, but for repairs at my level, a makita with dexter and interskol will fully fulfill all their tasks.

Well, be sure to read Viktor Borisov and Alexander Lunev Vitya has excellent posts about building a house, and also look in the bowels of his LJ for an ancient report on the renovation of an apartment, very interesting and informative. Sasha has “hardcore and byzantium” building a dwelling in a water tower. You will find absolutely nothing there about apartment renovation technologies, but you will find a pulsating concentrate of willpower, which Sasha actively shares with everyone.
I even have a piece of an I-beam, which Lunev personally gnawed inside his magnificent tower and distributed to Lepré. An excellent talisman of determination.

To find out about the nuances with tools and materials, I acted simply - I went to Leroy Merlin and talked with consultants for a long time. He asked what is better or this and why, and clarified the acquired knowledge from the Internet. They understood that they could not get away from me and spoke to the point. They are well trained on general issues.

Tools. Buy or borrow?

I bought all the tools, except for a couple in stock, such as a screwdriver, a jigsaw and a hammer drill, which I took from my brother. I bought inexpensive ones or took something very simple, for example, I did not buy a miter saw for horse money, but bought a simple mechanical angle saw for a thousand, and so on.

But I want to note that if there is an opportunity to buy a miter saw, you need to do it, it is simply necessary. Well, or rent, as a last resort. An incredibly useful thing that would speed up many processes several times, and the cuts would be more accurate. Until now, I look longingly at the small gaps in the joints of door frames and baseboards. Not really. You stop noticing minor flaws almost immediately 🙂

From the necessary tool, I would rent a wall chaser for a day. Strobes, especially if this strobe in plaster is a very dusty thing. An ordinary grinder with a diamond disc quite cheerfully saws concrete and even more so gypsum, but 10 seconds of cutting is 5 minutes of dust settling and the return of visibility.

To be continued. (LJ does not allow posting too large posts, so wait for 3-4 more parts).
