After work Yesterday I returned late, very tired. I decided to have time to buy beer in a store near my house before 22:00. Do you like to make repairs, the way I like to do it?

Here you can read everything about the everyday life and holidays of a simple, modest repairman.

All articles are written honestly and as they really are. This is not a "repair school". Experience is experience. What is there.

I heard here it is popular to post reports on the repair of your apartment or the construction of a summer house.

Since I myself am waiting to move into an apartment without finishing in a new building, I rummaged around on YouTube on the topic, found the channel of this peasant (like from Moscow), broadcasts about repairs with his own hands, periodically humors and criticizes some jambs in the new building and after poor-quality repairs. I think many will be useful and interesting. In no case is it advertising, I live in another city, finally, they didn’t offer kickbacks (which is a pity)))

For example, a video about drilling holes in a tile (what I was looking for myself):

P.S. I did not find a community of repairmen and anything like that (only in electronics and arduino), I give someone the idea of a community like “home repair”.

it’s not interesting to watch other people’s reviews, come on)) I have a small history of self-repair, from scratch, but I don’t have the courage to file a post, or laziness))

I have to wait at least until the fall for the beginning of my story. In the meantime, I stock up on theoretical knowledge on the topic)

he also sat like that, tormenting himself with contradictory vidos, some say one thing, others another. It was lucky that two good friends are builders, and they helped with advice, sometimes with little things - to put lighthouses there, to make markings for the ceiling. The brother builder also helped well with the walls put together with him.

Straight-handed friends are always good. But the trouble is that of the friends, the very straight-handed one is myself. ) The rest have problems with working with their hands.

I have a house - a new building, long-term construction, so the neighbor's repairman pestered me with advice)) sometimes he pissed me off straight, I found time from work, ran for a few hours to fix it, he's right there, and the coffee came, and you try it for 40 minutes culturally turn, I don’t want to be rude, sometimes I advised sensible things))

Well, if sometimes they are practical, then the coffee is not wasted for nothing))

And inspiration can be drawn not only in American houses, but also, for example, in an apartment in Chertanov.

Erin Himstra started a blog ten years ago to talk about renovations going on in her house - the same apartment 34. Since then, Erin managed to move to San Francisco, and her blog has become a lifestyle publication in its own right. Erin's blog is worth browsing for inspiration (for convenience, the "Decor" section is divided into sections: bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, and so on), as well as to get ideas for decoration and life hacks - for example, what can replace the usual bedside table and how else to use tiles in the interior.

Ivybush is primarily a catalog of furniture and accessories from various online stores, collected in one section, but not only: there is also a guide to different styles in the interior, and examples of interiors. Perhaps the most useful section is advice on repair and planning: for example, what to think about when planning repairs in Khrushchev (or any small apartment), as well as what to consider when combining a kitchen and a living room in one room.

We all strive to ensure that the interior of our apartment or house is unique, but in practice it often turns out differently - remember how many houses you have seen the Billy shelving unit or the Bedinge sofa. IKEA Hackers is a site dedicated to how you can improve your IKEA furniture or use it in new ways: for example, how to modify a display cabinet or make a chandelier from a set of glasses. I'm not sure if it's worth experimenting with all IKEA purchases like this, but there are a few ideas that can be adopted.

This blog will not be very beautiful, telling and showing how it all began. And it didn't start out badly. After a long search, I finally found it.

What repairs are done in the apartments? The Internet has given us a great opportunity to exchange experiences and share inspiration. Many interesting ideas would remain unrealized if people learned about the design of apartments only from thematic magazines or random visits to friends. Now everyone can find on the net extensive collections on the topic “apartment design, photo renovation”, etc.

However, we offer you something more. In the Personal experience section, apartment renovation, photos, interiors are presented by those participants who were engaged in this renovation and created the interior with their own hands. Here you will find a design project for a studio apartment, a design for a two-room apartment or a townhouse, and just find out what styles of interior design are, apartments for large families, bachelors, young people and the elderly.

It is worth noting that dwellings of different sizes have different problems. Owners of large apartments often resort to the services of a designer who helps them manage the free space and competently make redevelopment. However, sometimes the owners of three-, four- and five-room apartments decide to make repairs with their own hands, on their own, and at the same time achieve success. As a rule, the main thing in this situation is to maintain a single style, since sometimes do-it-yourself repairs are fraught with inconsistency in details, when the design of the hall in the apartment does not fit in with the bedroom, the kitchen lives its own life, and the hallway and corridor - their own.

However, the interior of a small apartment is fraught with no less surprises. No wonder professionals believe that the design of a one-room apartment (photos of such projects are also presented on our website) requires no less effort and knowledge than large footage, where you do not need to fight for every centimeter.

This is where the idea of saving space comes to the fore. For example, not everyone will guess to place a bed in a niche or a bay window, because for this you may have to order furniture, develop a podium project with your own hands, think over places to store bedding. However, this will free up square meters in another part of the room, and you will be able to see on real examples how a one-room apartment turns into a two-room apartment, and sometimes a three-room apartment. When you review the numerous interiors of apartments with photos, you may have a new understanding of how to solve a particular problem.

It doesn’t matter what you are doing - decorating a bathroom, renovating a kitchen with your own hands, renovating a room - a photo instruction will always be useful. If the repair is independent, the apartment always deserves attention, since even other people's mistakes are of great value: after all, having seen and analyzed other people's mistakes, you will not repeat them in your home. What can we say about master classes, which tell you how to make a floor with your own hands, how to install partitions, suspended ceilings, etc.

Apartment interior design is an unusual topic in which everything is of interest: the layout of a tiny studio, the interior of a one-room apartment, photos of spacious apartments, the nuances of choosing colors, selection of interior accessories and much more. It is not the size of the dwelling that is important, the ideas that were used in their design are important.

Will you involve specialists in the design and renovation of the apartment? You decide. However, if you want to make repairs in the apartment yourself, be sure to study the personal experience of other people, learn about the interior design of apartments, be interested in the technologies for performing work.

The site administration is not responsible for the statements and actions of site users on all pages of the site, as well as for the accuracy of the information they provide.

So, dear, healthy bools! The report on the renovation of the apartment continues. I remind you, this is a kopeck piece in Nizhny Novgorod, 50 sq.m. Completely turnkey.
The dismantling of partitions and floors (and in general the starting garbage collection) is completed. An eight-ton container was filled with garbage)) plus a little load of a gazelle))
A few photos:

Fucked-up PVC squares were glued on the floor, like pseudo-tiles, which were fashionable a long time ago. This is the second time I've come across such an old device on the floor in the last six months. How we tore them off is a different story)) In short, they fucked up not bad, but they did everything)
Image - Blog about do-it-yourself apartment renovation
The customers left the gas stove to us for a while. Well, there, cook a meal and so on. Now she is sunbathing on the balcony))

Today I calculated the thickness of the screed, walking around the apartment with the “Capro” level, I got an impressive weight category. About 12 cm.

We will make this rough screed from a mixture of M150 (sand-cement mixture with a plasticizer) with the addition of expanded clay of the finest fraction. To begin with, we bought 40 bags of the mixture and 20 bags of expanded clay, so as not to fill up the apartment.
Image - Blog about do-it-yourself apartment renovation

I have a professional mixer, but I'm afraid they won't knead such a volume. He will simply "die". So we bought a concrete mixer.
Image - Blog about do-it-yourself apartment renovation

We do waterproofing in the bathroom and toilet always. But then the customer insisted that we walk around the entire apartment. As always, they worked with bituminous mastic. The kitchen and the room have already missed, before the screed.
Image - Blog about do-it-yourself apartment renovation

We also broke the wall between the toilet and the bathroom to combine them. Then they looked at the rotten wall between the bathroom and the corridor. They looked and gasped. Partition half a brick, rotten and rotten. They took it down!
I just waved the sledgehammer several times, and Andryukha, the helper, collected this dust for half a day in bags and carried it out))

Anyway, the bathroom and toilet are completely redone, so it won’t be difficult for me to make a couple of new walls.

Along the way, 3 layers of Soviet-style tiles were beaten off. Tiles and mortar are ridiculous, but hard to carry.

Next, they set up beacons in the room and kitchen (preliminarily primed and smeared with bituminous waterproofing).

Describe in more detail to me broke, I fucked up today! Therefore, ph photo:

It turned out this:
Image - Blog about do-it-yourself apartment renovation

In general, the room and kitchen loomed. I'll show you the flooring one of these days. That's all for today, I'm tired and I want to sleep.

Dear, I want to first tell you that I left the Nizhny Novgorod resource
I made my own forum there, but the leadership turned out to be more than inadequate. Now there is no forum, no my account there.

Of course it's a pity, damn, those efforts that were expended on this forum, but oh well. It was not mine, the owners did as they saw fit. The server belongs to them, which means that I went in the cold.
But I really liked LJ, now I will publish all the materials here.

So, the repair of a two-room hut starts, turnkey, so to speak. Electrical, plumbing, plaster, wallpaper and so on. I will make it a rule to write at least 4-5 posts a week. I want to light up everything. In general, everything. The walls and floors have already been dismantled, an eight-ton garbage container plus a gazelle has been removed. As always, we took over the organization of everything, the customer only ran out of money and did not think about anything further.

We figured that the screed on the floor would be thick enough (10-14 cm), so today we bought a concrete mixer. For it is unrealistic to knead such a volume with a mixer or perforator.Tomorrow I will take a photo-video of what and how they did it. So far, tired today as a dog!

fingered photos from my made objects and came across an interesting option. A small tile 10 by 10, and in the middle there is also a panel. The matter was aggravated by the fact that the tile was “designer” and had rather jagged edges. Well, sort of on purpose. Yes, and in size a little (about a millimeter maximum) differed. Well, okay, everything is done, the tile hangs and pleases customers. By the way, I was there not so long ago (a couple of weeks ago), nothing falls off anywhere, does not deform and does not “crack”. Great. Since I give a guarantee for work for at least 2 years and I would not want to go and redo something, but at my own expense. It is profitable to work qualitatively, I was convinced more than once.

So, I will describe something like this:

Well, the idea to release a small electronic magazine on construction topics is firmly rooted in my head. I will try. Launched the second edition. Subscribers as many as 30 people. Well, yes, a little for now))) Well, what did you want? But all Nizhny Novgorod residents, the target audience, so to speak. I believe in positivity and growth!

I improved the design, worked out the content more seriously, more or less, in my opinion. I am doing this for the time being purely for the Nizhny Novgorod apartment renovation forum, then we will see. In general, I'm starting to like the zhezheshka.

I am from Nizhny Novgorod and we have such a popular resource there> This is a city portal with several hundred different forums. You can also create your own.

Having twirled around other small-town get-togethers, I decided to stir up my forum REPAIR OF APARTMENTS. No sooner said than done. But the people there are not ice. Although there is a sea of visitors on the resource itself, they don’t really go to my private forum.

Yes, it is understandable, you will find his dick without half a liter. All new and private forums are thrust into the ass of the world there. You can advertise it only for money (and why the fuck is it necessary if the forum is only nominally mine, but belongs to Jewish muzzle resource owner?

But there it is possible to join clubs and send mass messages to teammates (you can send 3,000 spam messages or more at a time). So. I decided to release a small digest on construction topics, format it in PDF format and send it to everyone. Really useful information, not just a hat.

And how, beat, to find who is willing, and who is not? I created a topic with this digest and sent the mailing in private to 3 thousand Nizhny Novgorod bodies. Of course, I immediately learned a lot of new and interesting things about myself. Well, the fact that a spammer is worse than a faggot, and so on. I think that these people hate advertising to such an extent that they even swear at the advertising newspaper when they take it out of the mailbox.

Separately, I created a separate topic, unsubscribing in which the user is guaranteed not to receive more letters from me. Neither electronic nor paper scrolls with wax seal, all the more so.

So. When the wave of shit and negativity subsided, I found a little over 20 subscribers to my future digest. Like nothing. What is 20 people? But, I already understood that everything in this life is relative. 20 hairs on the head is not enough, but the same amount in the soup, it's a hell of a lot!

So I will dare, improve my magazine and expand the audience on the forum. Allaverdi.

In general, according to SNiPs, if you are remodeling a bathroom (bathroom-toilet) or kitchen, and if floor work is included in these alterations, then waterproofing must be done!
I often see how contractors (dashing guys in overalls) and customers (well, they just don’t know) neglect this issue. Moreover, some workers will argue with fervor that waterproofing is not needed in this particular case.
But, think for yourself, you are not stupid people, SNiPs (Building Norms and Rules), after all, you didn’t invent and write fools, huh?
In general, I have a reserve of articles on my computer (I collect them from the Internet), I will gradually spread them here, so I found about waterproofing. There she is.
In other words, this topic is for those who have something to ask and for those who have something to say.
So, what would not be fruitful of unnecessary topics - an introductory course on concrete waterproofing.

[ Click to know the truth! ]
To date, we have accumulated vast experience in organizing waterproofing of objects.
Modern waterproofing materials are divided into:
• mastic, coating;
• powder, solutions;
• roll, sheet;
• film, polymer-membrane;
• penetrating insulation
• other

The above waterproofing materials have both their advantages and disadvantages. For example, mastic waterproofing materials are short-lived. They lose their properties in case of mechanical damage. The surface of the material to be insulated must be clean and, most importantly, dry.
Mastics and sealants have poor resistance to hydrostatic pressure. The durability of coating waterproofing with some compounds and their toxicity leaves much to be desired.
The same can be said about other materials. Some do not have the necessary strength, some are too demanding on the specialists who apply them, others simply do not satisfy consumer needs.
So in more detail:

Now in Russia there are many new highly effective composite waterproofing materials.
Cement-sand mixtures, polymer cements, glass cements, asphalt concrete, activated shotcrete - this is an incomplete list of compounds for plaster waterproofing, which have a common drawback: if adhesion is broken or mechanically damaged in one area, all waterproofing loses its meaning.
The listed materials belong to the category of traditional, used in construction earlier and still used. However, recently they have been actively squeezed into the market by technologies that solve the problems of waterproofing much more efficiently.

Water repellents are a relatively new type of waterproofing materials. The surface treated with a water repellent acquires pronounced water-repellent properties - the water simply rolls off without leaving a trace. When performing work - no special requirements for the humidity of the treated surface, high adhesion. Water repellents are very effective, however, over time, the surface treated with these materials loses its water-repellent properties (water-based - after 1-3 years, solvent-based - after 5-10 years, depending on the operating conditions of the object).
Water repellents do not have the property of self-healing new cracks, a relatively thin water-repellent layer (the depth of penetration of water repellents into the concrete body is not more than 5 mm) is gradually washed out.

Film, polymer-membrane waterproofing materials

Film, polymer-membrane rolled waterproofing materials are well known, for example, polyethylene film. These materials are distinguished by resistance to aggressive environments, durability, strength, elasticity. They are used in anti-filtration devices. Domestic polyethylene films have a thickness of 0.2-0.4 mm. Foreign, so-called geomembranes - 0.2-1 mm.

In general, this article gives a fairly complete and voluminous picture of waterproofing materials.
I wish you always dry floors and especially ceilings!))

Regular readers of this magazine know that a year and a half ago I did the renovation of my apartment on my own in 120 days. Here's the video, if you forgot: It has already collected almost a million views, which means it's not in vain. And here is a link to posts about the repair: In them, I talked about all the stages, with photos and comments. The result was a voluminous Talmud of knowledge and experience in repair for a beginner who was faced with a repair, from the same beginner-amateur-amateur.

In hot pursuit, I was already about to write a final post that would sum up this global (well, within the framework of my ideas) construction site. But for a good final post about repairs, as well as for wine, endurance is needed.

So, from March to July 2014, I independently, with my own hands, mastered the overhaul of my apartment.Every day I wrote a report on the work done, I wrote more for friends to encourage and stimulate me to continue further, but the reports were noticed on the big Internet and a huge number of strangers became viewers of this “reality show”. They daily demanded continuation and were indignant when there were no posts. For me, this was a strong incentive not to quit my job, otherwise I always wanted to. Somehow I was not used to such a load for many years of non-dusty television activity.

Well, just in case, I’ll immediately answer the question: “Why did you take so long, man, with a report?” The end of the repair powerfully relaxed and I didn’t want to go back to it. New projects, shelving, etc. But all this time, the posts served as a guide to action for many readers who found this blog after the repair was completed and decided to repeat it, inspired by what they read. Questions are still piling up in the mail and social networks. And even more people limited themselves to just watching the video and they immediately accumulated a lot of questions, and reading a hundred posts on LiveJournal is not an easy task. Therefore, you often have to answer the same questions of the same type. And then laziness finally suggested that the final post to be. And in the form of a classic “question-answer”. Questions collected in a heap, averaged, streamlined and answered them at once. I hope this post will help new and old readers who are going to make repairs, but who still have questions.

So that you don't get tired of reading a very long post, I will break it into parts, which will also be very long. I warned.

Final post. Part one.

Is the apartment alive, has anything fallen off?

It's been almost two years since the renovation was completed. The apartment, fortunately, is still alive and in excellent, fresh condition. The paint and plaster are in place and the walls are as clean and white as after painting. No, it's not that we don't stain the walls, it happens a couple of times a year. Just the dirt is quickly and easily washed off. The laminate did not break, including on the balcony. Chinese laminate grade 34 from Merlin was not bad.

The dry screed did not break through and the floor is still flat, but I continue to observe. Sockets and lights are functioning, plumbing is alive, Ikeev furniture has not fallen apart. Moreover, a dog has been living with us for a year and a half. My name is Venya. The apartment not only protects, but also protects, thanks to him.

Why so long? I myself, slowly, with smoke breaks, for 2 months, working no more than three hours a day, I do one-room (kopeck piece, three-ruble note, house)

When you make repairs yourself, you clearly understand that those who brag about major repairs alone in a couple of months either do cosmetic repairs, or this major repair is not so major. Or the person does not respect neighbors at all.
I also planned to do it in 2 months, but when I started, I ran into difficulties: it turns out that I do not live alone in the house, but moreover, I am surrounded by apartments with young children and the elderly, who have a quiet hour that is spread over a long period of time, others already at 5 at home and asked not to make noise, etc. In this regard, it is easier for the brigades - they generally do not care about their neighbors, they cannot live with them, and the work needs to be done quickly. But if you are the owner and are going to live in one place for a long time, then you need to respect the neighbors, I especially had to start respecting the neighbors after a week of absolutely hellish dismantling, so subsequently noisy work was very limited by me in time from 10 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm .

Plan a huge amount of time for the search and logistics of building materials. At first I thought, I’ll bring everything at once at once, and from one store, and I’ll save on delivery, well, I’ll rivet little by little. Nothing of the kind, building materials, even in small quantities, occupy all the free space of the apartment at once, and the space should be free, the repair is the same. Therefore, the delivery of materials was small-dosed and multi-stage.And of course, there was not that one cherished place from where everything could be taken out at once. The assortment is curved everywhere, something is there, something is not there, prices vary inexplicably. As a result, I bought most of the building materials in Leroy Merlin and delivered it to the apartment myself, and I looked for large-sized ones with inexpensive delivery in other places. Delivery in Merlin is wildly expensive.

Following. Numerous little things. It turns out that any operation requires a certain type of tool, materials, consumables, components, etc. No, well, I carefully unified some things, for example, perlfix, which I used in almost any situation and which replaced absolutely any building mixture. Give me more will, I would lay tiles on it and rub the seams. Therefore, it was not possible to save time on purchases, and I was in Leroy Merlin almost daily throughout the entire repair period. Constantly something was missing in detail or it was necessary for a new stage of work. This is not counting trips to the Ob, and then to Ikea, when it was necessary to fully equip the apartment with furniture and calculate every centimeter of space, but simply studying the site was no longer enough, there were always nuances that required the thing to “touch and measure”.

By the way, building hypermarkets are a great place to think about repairs, you go around looking at the assortment and you immediately understand that with this wonderful tool or material you will immediately solve all the accumulated problems, well, a lot of ideas for implementation come when you see devices for these ideas.
Part of the time was spent on careful photography of all processes, not to mention the constant video shooting for time-lapses. Well, daily writing posts in the dead of night, upon returning from the construction hypermarkets. Analyzing these production rhythms after 2 years, I find these rhythms to be hellish. This I still do not take into account the time to study the materiel and long test picking, so as not to screw up the finishing process.

I felt sorry for my neighbors. See above.

Smells like real bullshit. Three (four) healthy men did not work anywhere for 120 days, but built an apartment? What is it like? Well, I understand they saved up money for materials. And then everyone took a vacation for 120 days? P ... .. (not true).

The video creates the feeling that many people worked with me, but I did the main work myself, alone, without help.

During the dismantling, the workers helped me to take out several tons of garbage. Zhekovsky plumbers installed taps. Stretch ceiling installers installed the ceilings and air conditioner installers installed the air conditioner. Well, deliveries of building materials are constantly flashing in the frame. Also, my stepfather Andrey, brother Pasha and wife Nadia with their son Fedya helped me a lot.

They helped when they had free time. A couple of hours a day or on weekends. Vacation was the only one I had. Andrey helped a lot at the first stage. Shared experience and knowledge. Especially in the area of plastering.

I did not shoot the video all the time I was at the facility, but only at the moments of the workflow. A lot of things in the final video were left behind the scenes, for example, the whole routine, when I’m alone poking around for several hours in one place, and nothing happens in the frame.

I take it you've done renovations before, right?

No, all my repair experience was in the usual small household chores - hang a shelf, a curtain, assemble a bedside table with a stool from Ikea, and so on. All the knowledge on repair technologies was taken by me from YouTube, I didn’t even read almost a single article. All processes are popularly explained in numerous videos, you just choose the technology you like, which you can afford and absorb. But the posts of a famous blogger pushed me to self-repair Image - Blog about do-it-yourself apartment renovation

victorborisov , who quite a long time ago, in the year 2008, did a major overhaul of the apartment, and later built the house himself. Well, since “some blogger” can, then I probably can, I thought then.

Where does the knowledge about the process come from? Did you have experience or did you learn everything along the way?

I studied 2 months before the repair on YouTube videos. Any forums, scientific articles, and even more so books (on repair, of course) are evil, it’s better not to read them at all, it will completely discourage the desire to build and repair, I don’t know why, but this feeling arose after reading a couple of dozen articles by specialized authors. To meet a simple text adequate for a beginner is a rarity. On YouTube, they will immediately show and tell you the technology, it’s already more difficult to screw up after that in practice. Important! DO NOT READ THE COMMENTS ON YOUTUBE! Usually there is hell and Israel, a bunch of inadequate and couch experts, and their opinions are more likely to confuse than to be useful. And yes, you need to watch a dozen videos on one technology. I gave preference to ordinary simple craftsmen, who will explain and show in a simple, worldly way. Of course, first you should watch all the videos of Alexei Zemskov, be deeply inspired by his skill and ability to speak, then you need some time to realize your insignificance, and then go watch the videos of ordinary craftsmen and look for technologies and tools that you can handle and afford.

Of course, the Hilti is a great tool, but for repairs at my level, the Makita with dexter and interskol will completely fulfill all their tasks.

Well, be sure to read Viktor Borisov and Alexander Lunev. Vitya has excellent posts about building a house, and also look in the bowels of his LJ for an ancient report on the repair of an apartment, very interesting and informative. Sasha has the “hardcore and byzantium” of building a home in a water tower. You won’t find anything about apartment renovation technologies there, but you will find a pulsating concentrate of willpower, which Sasha actively shares with everyone.
I even have a piece of an I-beam, which Lunev gnawed out with his own hand inside his magnificent tower and handed out at Lepre. An excellent talisman of purposefulness.

To find out about the nuances with tools and materials, I acted simply - I went to Leroy Merlin and talked with consultants for a long time. He asked what is better this or that and why, he clarified the knowledge gained from the Internet. They understood that they could not get away from me and spoke to the point. On general issues, they are quite trained.

Tools. Bought, borrowed?

I bought all the tools, except for a couple in stock, such as a screwdriver, a jigsaw and a puncher, which I took from my brother. I bought inexpensive ones or took something very simple, for example, I didn’t buy a miter saw for horse money, but bought a simple mechanical angle saw for a thousand, and so on.

But I want to note that if there is an opportunity to buy a miter saw, you need to do it, it is simply necessary. Or rent it, at the very least. An incredibly useful thing that would speed up many processes several times, and the cuts would be more accurate. Until now, I look longingly at the small gaps in the joints of the door frames and skirting boards. Not really. You stop noticing minor flaws almost immediately 🙂

From the necessary tool, I would rent a wall chaser for a day. Strobs, especially if this strob in plaster is a very dusty thing. An ordinary grinder with a diamond blade quite cheerfully cuts concrete and even more so plaster, but 10 seconds of cutting - 5 minutes of dust settling and visibility returning.

To be continued. (LJ does not allow you to post too large posts, so wait for 3-4 more parts).
