After turning on the machine and selecting the program, the pump starts pumping water into the drum through the fill valve. The drum is a container made of stainless material, with many holes over the entire surface. Through these holes, water penetrates into the tank, reaching the desired level. The pressure switch monitors the water level. The drum is connected through a belt drive or directly connected to the engine. According to the selected program, the engine starts its work, causing the drum to rotate. In front, the drum is connected through a rubber cuff to the tank.
At the end of the wash cycle, the water will begin to drain. The main unit of the drain system is the drain pump. A special hose is connected to the pump outlet, through which water is drained from the device. The last step in the operation of the machine is the spin. For its implementation, the engine starts to rotate the drum at high speed. Under the action of centrifugal force, things inside are pressed against the surface of the drum. Water is squeezed out of things and exits through the holes in the drum. The squeezed out water accumulates at the bottom of the tank, from where it is pumped out by a pump. The pump and motor are controlled by the electronics unit.
Water heating in the device occurs with the help of a thermoelectric element. It looks like a bent tube, inside which there is a conductive thread in the middle of the insulator layer.
In addition to the main components, sensors are important elements in washing units. They allow electronics to control the processes that take place during washing. The following sensors are used in the machines:
Pressure switch. It can be performed both mechanically and electronically. Its job is to control the water level.
Thermostat. It is located at the bottom of the tank and is designed to monitor the temperature of the water.
Tachometer. Measures engine speed.

To disassemble the device yourself, you will need a number of tools: Phillips screwdrivers 4-6 mm, slotted 4-10 mm, wrenches 8/9 and 18/19, pliers. Disassembly begins with the removal of the protective side cover. To do this, unscrew the screws around the perimeter and push the side cover towards you. If you need to repair the motor, you will need to remove it. Before removing the engine, the drive belt is removed, the terminal block is disconnected, then the screws are unscrewed and the engine is removed from the skids. In the engine mechanism, you need to check the brushes. They are usually located on the outside of the case and tightly pressed against the manifold. When they wear out, the power of the motor is lost, and the machine starts to fail. This is especially true when spinning.
One of the most common washing machine pump failures is impeller failure. Before proceeding with the removal of the pump, you can open the drain filter located on the front of the machine and clean the compartment of debris, then turn the impeller by hand. If you decide to remove the pump, you will have to unscrew the plastic part that connects the pump, drain pipe and drain hose. To do this, the fixing screws are unscrewed.
The most time-consuming operation is the removal of the tank. You will need to remove the top cover. To do this, you first have to free the electronics unit. Usually it is screwed on and held around the perimeter with clips. After we disconnect the dispenser hopper by lifting it up and, loosening the clamp with pliers, pull out the pipe. In practice, to remove the drum, you will need to disassemble the entire machine. The weak part in the tank is the bearing. To get to it, you need to install the tank with the stuffing box up and knock out the bearing with a chisel and a hammer. Modern models are produced with a cast bearing, that is, it cannot be replaced separately from the tank.

Such repairs must be carried out with special knowledge. If you suspect an electronic unit, you can remove the board from the plastic container, after disconnecting all connectors, and carefully examine the soldering points. Often, due to the vibration of the machine, they are destroyed. Also, if washing powders get in or in the event of a leak, plaque may appear on the textolite board. In this case, it is recommended to wash the board with an alcohol solution.
One of the important parts of the control of the machine is the programmer. Its other name is the command apparatus. This detail is responsible for the choice of modes. It can be mechanical or electronic. In the case of the electronic form, a microprocessor is used. The mechanical programmer also tends to fail. When disassembling it, care must be taken, as there are springs inside. The programmer consists of a set of gears and a synchromotor. In principle, the command apparatus is rather complicated, and without experience it should not be disassembled. Particular attention should be paid to the contact group, it is often oxidized, which leads to malfunctions.
Complex mechanical devices cannot last forever, but it is possible to delay their failure. To do this, you must comply with the technical conditions for operation and carry out preventive measures:
