Efco 8130 DIY repair

In detail: efco 8130 do-it-yourself repair from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.

You can “go the other way”. Efco has a twin brand - Oleo-Mac. I suspect that the spare parts for similar models (in this case, the Oleo-Mac TR130E) are the same. Two firms are engaged in this brand in Moscow:
1. "Unisoo" -
2. "Structure" -

P.S. If not difficult, please report the results of your searches.

A similar situation occurred to me when mowing tall grass "Shark" without a protective cover. Business is going much faster, but the grass is wound up, thickens and burns. Further - only disassembly and cleaning. I performed these operations at home, but I had to tinker.
When using a trimmer with a cover, and even when mowing short grass without a cover, I do not have such an effect, and I mow a lot and often. In any case, the general rule is as follows: when mowing, you should often remove the curled grass and clean the cover of adhering grass, especially if you are mowing tall or damp grass. After finishing mowing, you must remove the head and immediately clean everything that can be cleaned in the area of the rotating parts. A small amount of grass trapped inside the "rotor" can be removed by scraping with a nail through the recess, rotating the "rotor" with your hands.

If, when the head is removed, the "rotor" turns freely with your fingers, then it looks like your thermal switch is incorrectly configured. I had this a few years ago on the Oleo-Mac. I decided to adjust it myself. Everything worked fine, but at the end of the season I got an “interturn” one. So it's better to contact the service. New thermal switches are inexpensive. 2 years ago I bought in a service in the Suschevka area (Moscow).

By the way, now I use Efco 8300 exclusively with Shark. The thermal protection has never worked yet.

Good people, help with advice!

That year I bought the aforementioned electric braid, this season my dad took it apart, oiled it, put a 2mm triangular fishing line, and now every 5 minutes an auto shutdown is triggered (as with overheating) and oil leaks. As far as I remember, according to the instructions, there was no need to do any lubrication, but since papa successfully lost his instructions, but now I can’t explain anything to him, like: “there was nothing to climb into the working unit”. Can anyone advise a four-thread?

Use a thinner line.
And there was no need to lubricate anything. What was he smearing?

To: Hubert: Who knows, opened the plastic case (right now, damn it, I explain Image - Efco 8130 DIY repair

)), where the engine is located and somewhere has lubricated.

And at the expense of the fishing line is thinner. According to the instructions, it seems that up to 2 mm is normal.

Take the tady to repair. Either daddy collected it crookedly or didn't pick up the oil by viscosity. Hence, additional heating, oil leakage and protection actuation. Even in the heat (I have the same trimmer), the protection works after about an hour of Shark's work.
Kill the engine, the repair will be more expensive.

Rotor in service - 2800r. Maybe someone knows other options?

Thank you Andrey, but there are 4200 in total, you will have to buy a new one.

Alternatively, you can try to go to some market to see some master. Either on this forum, or on "Instruments" someone gave the exact coordinates. But I do not think that it will be more profitable - rather, you will only waste time.

You can ask around at the Moskvoretsky market. There are a lot of points with spare parts. You just need to take the rotor with you so that you can compare everything on the spot.

And this is not your first renovation?
This brand has a “lifetime warranty” even after the warranty period, they have to repair one time free of charge.

Maybe, just not in Russia, it says in my warranty card - with professional use 6 months with household 12.(how they define it is unclear)

I got my Efco 8130 in the first year. Mowed a lot and for a long time. Interruptions were minimal.
If you managed to change the engine before the end of the warranty.
With the new one, I have already plowed three seasons! But I became careful, it works for about 20 minutes and I do a break.

And you have to mow a lot.
A plot of 8 acres in 3-4 weeks is overgrown with devils. Only Shark rescues. I heard that craftsmen change plastic knives in Shark for metal ones.

The old woman did not suffer for long.
Again the engine and head flew, replaced with a lifetime warranty coupon.

The design of the head is clearly not successful because of it, the engine burns out.

If I paid, it would come out more than 4 thousand.
It's easier to buy a new one.
The head already costs more than 700.
Complete nonsense, I will never buy this company again.

After a little refinement of the head, when using the shark attachment, it became a super shark.

The engine does not overheat, the thermal protection of course has stopped working.

The advantages of this company are obvious, one free repair after the end of the warranty period.

since the name of the topic is very convenient, I decided to upload my experience with this braid here
