Self-installation of the shredder:

It is important to remember that the connection of the drain pipe of the grinder to the sewage system is made using a smooth-walled siphon (elbow). It is strictly forbidden to install a traditional bottle siphon; it is also not recommended to install a corrugated siphon-elbow, it does not have sufficient rigidity and diameter, and can also get clogged. Loosen the nut (3) at the base of the sink flange.
Push the flange up through the hole in the sink and remove it (Figure 2.2).
Remove dirt and deposits from the sink hole.

The note: If necessary, you will have to widen the drain hole of the sink for a better connection to the appliance. Various diameters are available through your In-Sink-Erator dealer.

Turn the fastening system (Figure 3.1) and loosen the three fastening screws (1) so that the snap ring (2) can be reached.
Using a screwdriver, remove the snap ring from the sink flange. This will allow the fastening system to be disassembled piece by piece.

Place one of the two rubber gaskets (3) under the sink flange (2). Before doing this, make sure that the area is free of deposits and then place the flange with gasket in the drain hole of the sink. To secure the flange in a fixed position, it is recommended to place a weight in the sink. (Place a towel under the load to avoid scratching the sink.)
Working under the sink, slide the second gasket (3) and metal seal (4) (flat side up) over the sink flange.
With the rubber gasket and gasket in place, place the retaining ring (5) on the flange to connect it to the gasket.
After the rubber gaskets, gasket and fastening ring are attached to the bottom of the sink, slide the snap ring (7) onto the sink flange so that it fits into the cutout on the flange.
Fasten the 3 fixing screws (6) to the sink so that the fixing system fits snugly and evenly against the sink.

Failure to follow this procedure can result in blockage of the sewer line.

Remove the filter.
Use a metal brush to clean out hard deposits in the horizontal drainage system connecting the filter to the main pipe.

Water from the dishwasher can enter the chopper through the internal inlet located at the top of the chopper. Note: To prevent overfilling and clogging of the dishwasher, most manufacturers recommend installing an air block - a device to block the return of water (Figure 6.1). There is a plug inside the inlet tube. When it is removed, it cannot be put back.

The note: If the dishwasher / sink is connected without removing the plug, it could overfill either the machine or the sink. (Connection must be made in accordance with local plumbing regulations.)

How to remove the plug (Figure 6.2):

Lay the shredder on its side and position the screwdriver in the dishwasher connection hole, opposite the outer edge of the plug.
Use a hammer to knock on the screwdriver until the sealed plug comes out.
Remove the plug from the grinder.

If the sink overflow control is installed, it must be connected to the drain on the drain pipe (Figure 6.3). To connect the sink overflow control, remove the plug on the drain pipe by unscrewing the sink overflow hole blocker (Scheme 6.4, No.2).

To avoid electric shock, disconnect electrical power before installing or servicing shredder.

Three-phase current distribution uses a grounded plug that is inserted into a 3-hole grounded receptacle.
It is forbidden to alter the plug that is installed on the device.
Improper connection of the equipment-grounded conductor may result in electrical shock.
All wiring must comply with local electrical codes.
It is forbidden to short-circuit the ground wire to the gas supply pipe.
The shredder must be connected to grounded, permanent wiring, or the conductors must be provided with an equipment grounding conductor and connected to the equipment grounding terminals on the shredder.
Do not apply power to the device before all earthing switches are installed.

This appliance must be grounded. Wired appliances include a wire equipped with an earthed conductor and an equivalent plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet (2) that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local electrical codes (Figure 7.2).

Switching on / off for LONG-TIME GRINDERS:

There are 2 types of switches for continuous shredders: bipolar and air.
Bipolar switch (1): must be located in a comfortable position above the workstation with a pole-to-pole distance of at least 3 mm. Use a 20 amp bipolar switch (Diagram 7.2).

Some models of grinders (75 and 65) are equipped with a built-in air switch (Figure 7.3): it activates or deactivates the device, sending air to the control box. The most convenient location for the air circuit breaker is on the work surface. For installation, it is required to drill a hole in the work surface, through which the air hose and the lower part of the switch are then passed.

If you prefer to use a wall (bipolar) switch, the air switch can be de-energized. On a new appliance, the switch is in the off position. Using the hose (supplied), connect the air switch actuator to the switch itself, located on the underside of the appliance. Press the air switch button once; You should hear the switch click.Then disconnect the air switch actuator and the hose, which can be discarded. The appliance will now be turned on and off using the wall switch.

Remove all foreign objects from the grinding chamber of the appliance before placing it in the sink.

Align the 3 fixing loops (1) of the device so that they go into the fixing tracks (2) (Figure 8.1).
Lift the device, insert the upper end (fastening washer) into the fastening system and turn the lower fastening ring to the right (using a wrench or pliers) until the fastening loops snap into the edges (3) of the fastening ring tracks (Figure 8.2). MAKE SURE ALL THREE ANCHORING HINGES ARE CLICKED ON THE EDGES. The appliance is fixed to the sink.

The note: If the shredder is equipped with a noise blocker, install it in the sink hole with the convex side up.

Place the rubber gasket (1) in the hole in the pipe (the gasket may already be in this pipe). Using one 19mm screw, secure the metal flange and waste tube to the shredder (the gasket must remain in place.)

Steps 1 and 2 for Models 65, 55 and 45:

Place the metal flange (5) on the drain pipe (6). Place the rubber gasket (4) in the hole in the waste discharge tube (Figure 9.2)
Attach the metal flange and waste pipe to the shredder with two 13mm screws (7).
Turn the device so that the pipe is flush with the drain filter. (To prevent leaks, do not pull or bend the tubing towards the filter.) If the tubing is shorter, you will need an extra tip, available from the hardware store. The chopper must be in an upright position to avoid vibration.
Connect the tube with a nut, which must be screwed to the thread of the chopper outlet. Attach the filter to the discharge pipe. (If you have a double sink in your kitchen, use a filter for each sink drain.)
Make sure that the bottom fastening ring is still on the edges of the fastening flange (Figure 8.2).
