We tighten the new thrust bearing until it stops, then release it by 1.4 turns, then move the rail back and forth (carefully oil will spray from the holes from the hoses), the rail should move with a little effort, but not dangle and not tight. So, let's begin.
We drive the car onto a pit or a lift, in my case a pit.
We loosen the wheel nuts, jack up the car, remove the wheels and put stops under the longitudinal spars, in my case bricks, in the place behind the subframe mount.

The subframe is secured with 4 bolts and 2 nuts. DO NOT TOUCH THE RED BOLT. He holds the rear arm bush, we don't need it.

7. Remove the intermediate shaft.

8. Remove the four steering gear mounting bolts.

9. Move the steering gear to the left and remove the right steering link through the hole in the wing arch.

10. Remove the steering gear from the right side of the vehicle.

1. Fasten the steering gear in a vise, the jaws of which are covered with brass plates.

3. Before unscrewing the tie rod end, note the relative position of the tie rod, locknut and tie rod end.

4. Loosen the lock nut and unscrew the left tie rod end from the tie rod.

5. Remove the small clamp of the tie rod protective cover.

6. Remove the wire clamp securing the protective cover of the steering rod.

8. Separate the steering rod from the rack.

9. Unscrew the plug locking nut and remove the plug.

10. Remove the spring and slide stop.

11. Remove the control valve snap ring.

12. Remove the oil seal ring.

13. Remove the two control valve body bolts.

14. Remove the control valve body and control valve assembly.

15. If necessary, remove the gasket from the steering gear housing.

16. Remove the O-ring.

17. Remove the low pinion bearing from the steering gear housing.

18. Use a rubber mallet to knock the pinion and control valve assembly out of the body.

19. Remove the four Teflon shims from the control valve assembly.

20. Use a special tool to knock the bearing out of the control valve body.

21. Use a special tool to rotate the rack bushing until the hook is aligned with the groove in the steering gear housing.

23. Remove the gear rack from the right side of the steering gear.

24. Remove the bushing from the rack.

25.Remove the O-ring.

26. With a special tool, remove the O-ring by hitting the gear rack with a hammer.

27. Use an inertial hammer and puller to remove the rack o-ring.

28. Remove the brackets and o-rings.

1. Check the steering gear parts for cracks or damage and uneven wear on the rack teeth. Replace worn parts if necessary.

2. Check the o-rings for uneven wear and damage. Replace worn parts if necessary.

3. Place the rack on the V-blocks and measure the rack deflection with a dial indicator. If the deflection exceeds the allowable value, replace the rail.

1. Install the o-rings and brackets.

Install the spring end and O-ring tabs on the special tool.

2. Place the O-ring on the rack with a special tool.

3. Install the O-ring on the piston with a special tool.

4. Place the protective cap on the end of the toothed rack and place the bushing over the cap.

5. Install the oil seal ring guard on the gear rack as shown in the illustration. Install the gear rack with protection into the steering gear housing.

6. Hammer and

use the special tool to install the lower bearing into the control valve body.

7. If the valve body, control valve assembly, or steering gear housing has been replaced, select shims when installing the control valve body.

If parts were not replaced, install all previously removed gaskets.

8. Use the special tool to install the Teflon shims into the control valve assembly.

- Install the first O-ring (closest to the bearing) by moving the pusher towards the first groove.

- install the gasket by moving the large end of the mandrel over the O-ring.

- before installing the second gasket, install the spacer sleeve into the control valve body as shown in the figure. Install the gasket using a mandrel and pusher.

- Before installing the third gasket, install two spacer sleeves in the control valve body.

Check that the two spacers are installed as one piece. Install the third gasket.

- to install the fourth spacer, invert the second spacer so that the small ends of the spacers meet on the control valve assembly.

9. Insert the control valve assembly into the body and make sure it seats properly.

10. Install a new O-ring.

11. Install the body with control valve assembly and bolt to torque.

12. Install the bearing with a special tool.

13. Install the gasket with the special adapter.

14. Install the slide stop.

16. Apply a thin coat of thread sealant to the plug threads. Screw in the plug and tighten it to the required torque.

18. Tighten the sliding stop plug with a tightening torque of 4.9 N • m, then loosen it by 67.5 °

19. Use a special tool OK130 322 020 to measure the turning torque of the steering gear shaft.

Turning moment at the center of the rack ± 90 °: 0.8-1.3 N • m

20. If the torque is not correct, repeat steps 18-21.

21. Tighten the locknut to 39–49 N • m.

22. Install the steering rods.

23. Align the washer with the groove of the rack and bend it.

24. Pushing along the steering rods, install the protective covers of the steering gear.

25. Secure the larger side of the cover with the wire by wrapping it two turns and twist the ends of the wire 4–4.5 times. Be careful not to damage the boot attachment wire.

26. Secure the cover on the smaller side with a clamp.

27. Install the left steering rod locknut and align the marks made before unscrewing the nut.Screw on the tip of the left-hand tie rod and align the marks made before unscrewing the tip. Tighten the tie rod end lock nut.

28. Install the oil lines.

1. Install the steering gear on the right side of the vehicle.

2. Connect the intermediate shaft to the steering gear shaft and secure with the tie bolt.

3. Connect the return and pressure hoses.

4. Secure the steering gear with bolts and nuts.

5. Install the catalytic converter.

6. Install the pins of the ball joints of the ends of the steering rods in the steering knuckles. Screw on the trunnion mounting nuts, tighten them to the required torque.

10. Fill and bleed the power steering hydraulic system with fluid.
