The Ford Mondeo 3 repair manual contains information on the following components: engine, automatic transmission, manual transmission, braking system, suspension, ignition, fuel supply system, electrical equipment, etc.

The third generation Ford Mondeo (2000-2007) became larger than its predecessor and was still produced with sedan, hatchback and station wagon bodies. The car was equipped with gasoline engines 1.8, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 V6. The latter was also installed on the "hot" version of the Mondeo ST220 (226 hp). Also, Ford Mondeo mk III was equipped with a turbodiesel with a volume of 2 and 2.2 liters. Twice, in 2003 and 2006, the car was slightly updated in appearance. Greetings to everyone on the Ford Master website. Today under the heading "Repair Ford Mondeo" I will tell you how to perform repair of a rear brake caliper on a Ford Mondeo 3 do it yourself.

I described how to replace brake pads on a Ford Mondeo in my previous article, so today I will not dwell on replacing the pads.

The need to repair the caliper was caused by problems that arise from time to time during braking, beats, wedging, overheating were clearly felt. As a rule, during overheating of the caliper, all the lubricant flows out, and after that, the caliper performance deteriorates even more and “wedges” more often.

1. Before removing the caliper, you must: jack up the car, remove the wheel, treat the mounting bolts with WD-40 liquid, etc. More details on how to remove the caliper and pads are written here.

2. Do not forget to pass the brake hose, this will save you unnecessary problems with the TJ leak. You can simply squeeze the hose by bending it, or you can squeeze it with some kind of manual vice.

3. To unscrew the brake cylinder of the left rear caliper, turn clockwise. If there is no hex, you can use the “12” head bolt with the nuts. The bolt is installed in the center hole of the cylinder.

4. The replacement of the brake cylinder was avoided, since it is in good condition, which is clearly seen in the photo.

5.On the other side of the caliper, it is necessary to remove the handbrake levers together with the gasket, after which the entire movable part must be treated with penetrating liquid WD-40 and then disassembled for diagnostics of the condition.

6. As it turned out, in this place and wedge, all cleaned of dirt, then smeared everything with graphite grease.

7. Next, install new gaskets and install new anthers, lubricate everything, assemble the caliper in reverse order.

8. To install the pads in place, it is necessary to press the cylinder, for this it is not enough just to press, you also need to scroll (on the right - clockwise, on the left wheel - counterclockwise).

Ford Mondeo is a passenger car of the European subsidiary of Ford.
