One beautiful cold autumn morning, when it was about 5 degrees Celsius outside, the air temperature from my side (the driver's) ceased to be regulated, while everything was fine on the passenger side.

Later, after 30,000 km, the same problem befell the passenger.

I started looking for information on the Internet on the topic of repairs and found out for myself that I am not alone - sooner or later all cruise drivers will come across this.

Solving the problem by simply replacing the unit at an authorized dealer turned out to be not the cheapest and fastest way. Since the case is not guaranteed, the price tag is cosmic (at that time 14,000 rubles with work), and in time it is a whole day. And the most unpleasant thing is that no one guarantees that the problem will not happen again.

1. Remove the skin. Everything rests on clips: if you pull it towards yourself a little, it will be entirely in your hands.

2. Remove the trim from the side of the door, gently prying it with a screwdriver, and unscrew the trim fastening bolt under the steering wheel.

3. Unscrew the screws of the lining under the steering wheel and - also for convenience - remove the lining with a cloth (hanging on clips).

9. To repair the tie rod mount, I made the following mount, literally on the knee. I advise you to make a larger hole slightly larger than the diameter of the mount on the damper, so that there is a slight backlash. He took what screws they were and just shortened them.

10. We lower the thrust to the damper in the way it should be, put on our new mount and drill a hole for the first screw. Use a drill with a smaller diameter than the screw so that everything is tight during assembly. I do not advise you to tighten it to the end (during installation, you will need to more accurately adjust the position of the rod and shutter), and carefully drill the second hole. When screwing in the screws, do not overdo it with effort, you risk breaking everything completely.

eleven.After fixing the new mount to the rods, I also fixed it to the damper using a small piece of hose and super glue.

After everything has been smeared with glue (almost jewelry work), check that the knot remains mobile, otherwise there is no point in repairing!

13. I covered the technological hole I made with a sealant that dries in 15 minutes.

Then we assemble in the reverse order. I spent 2 hours on repairs, 300 rubles for a sealant and the following tools: an engraver with a disk, a drill, a screwdriver with a nozzle (I don't remember the size), a flat screwdriver, a pair of drills, a sealant and a little patience.

If the same trouble on the passenger side, then we do the same thing, except that you will need to tinker with dismantling the plastic panels, respectively, on the other side of the driver.
