In detail: ael cooler does not cool water DIY repair from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.
First you need to decide: the cooler does not cool the water at all or does it cool, but much weaker than usual? The reasons for the problems in both cases will be different.
In this case, most likely, nothing serious happened and you will be able to fix the situation on your own, without involving specialists. Here are the main causes of problems in this case:
Check the power supply first. Perhaps the plug is not firmly inserted into the outlet, or the electricity is disconnected in principle.
Turn on the cooling switch. Most coolers are not enough just to plug into the outlet, you also need to turn on the heating and / or cooling toggle switches. They are usually located on the side or back of the device (see the diagram in the instructions for your model).
Compressor-cooled coolers have a weak point in the compressor grill. If the device was transported or used carelessly, microcracks could appear on it. This usually leads to a gradual leakage of freon, and the apparatus stops cooling the water. In this case, the grille must be replaced. In addition, the compressor may break down, which will also have to be replaced.
In coolers with electronic cooling, the reason for the lack of cooling can be a breakdown of the Peltier element and / or the fan. This most often happens when the cooler is used in highly dusty, poorly ventilated rooms. Remember that electronically cooled coolers are more demanding on the cleanliness of the room. After replacing the defective parts, your device will function as new again.

Diagnostics and replacement of failed parts requires the involvement of a specialist. We strongly do not recommend that you repair the water cooler yourself.
Sudden problems in the operation of a floor-standing or desktop water cooler may arise at the most inopportune moment, since repairing a cooler in a service center requires money and time, which may not be available. In most cases, the reasons why the cooler or its individual functions (such as water cooling) do not work, arise as a result of careless transportation of the dispenser, its installation or operation. But before calling the wizard, let's try to understand the problem in order to find an alternative way out of this situation.
Suppose everything was fine yesterday, but today you found that the cooler is not working or is working, but the process of cooling the water is too slow. The reason may be the most commonplace and easily eliminated, but sometimes repairing a cooler in a specialized service center is the only way to eliminate the malfunction. First, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the following list of possible problems:
If the dispenser is used by a large number of people, then the water for the cooler may not have time to cool down to the required level. Depending on the type of cooling, give the appliance enough time to cool down the water (about 15 minutes).
Another possible source of this problem is an improperly adjusted water thermostat that is set at a low or minimum level. Try changing the current settings to improve the current cooling performance.
In the absence of normal conditions for ventilation, the cooler does not cool the water to an optimal level. First of all, you need to make sure that there is a small air gap (at least 10 cm) between the equipment case and its surroundings.
Overheating of the elements responsible for the cooling function can also be a probable cause of insufficient water cooling. Just unplug the equipment from the mains and leave it off for about half an hour.
If the cooler does not cool the water at all, then first of all it is worth looking at the corresponding indicator. There may be a power outage, a problem with the outlet, or the dispenser may not be plugged in. Make sure the cooler is plugged in and check for voltage.
Another cause of the problem may be related to the position of the toggle switch, which is responsible for the water cooling process. Try turning on the toggle switch located on the back of the case. The correct position of the toggle switch can be found in the instructions that came with the cooler.
In coolers with an electronic type of cooling, the fan could fail or the Peltier element burned out. This happens very often when the dispenser has been used for a long time in a poorly ventilated area. In this case, you will have to replace the damaged parts, which means that you cannot do without the help of specialists.
In coolers with compressor-type cooling, the compressor may break down, which needs to be repaired or replaced. Freon leakage may also occur, resulting from the appearance of microcracks during careless handling of the radiator grill. If this is the problem, contact the service center, where you can identify and solder the leak, and also pump in a new portion of the refrigerant.
As you can see, most common cooling problems can be solved by yourself. And nevertheless, if your cooler does not work or does not cool the water, then it is better to play it safe and immediately call a foreman who will carry out a comprehensive diagnostics of the equipment and prevent further aggravation of the problem.
Coolers or water dispensers are becoming more and more popular every year, and such devices can be used both in office premises and in an apartment. The need for clean water will never decrease. Any equipment from time to time, regardless of quality and manufacturer, may become faulty. If the breakdown and malfunction are light, then the repair can be done by hand, without contacting service centers.
High-quality repairs can only be made if the reason is identified. Before disassembling the device for water purification, carefully read the instructions for the cooler, which indicates possible malfunctions and solutions.
There can be many reasons for the malfunction. Often there are those that can be eliminated fairly quickly. Let's take a look at them.
If dirt has accumulated in the cooler, then it will stop working - it will need cleaning.
First, the device is disconnected from the mains and the water bottle is removed.
The surface of the cooler should be thoroughly rinsed using ordinary dishwashing detergents. The work must be done carefully, especially in the place where the needle is located, on which the container for the liquid is put on.
Then they take up the pallet. It is thoroughly washed, rinsed.
All parts of the dispenser are wiped dry with a soft cloth.
Then all elements of the device are returned to their places. Pour water into the bottle and drain a little through the faucet. This is necessary to flush the tap, as some detergent may remain in the tap.
Most often cause of malfunction is as follows:
The device is not connected to the mains.
We did not click on the "enable" button, which is located on the panel.
After carrying out the necessary operations, the indicator still does not light up, check the outlet itself. It's easy to do: take any electrical appliance and plug it in. If it does not start working either, the reason is a malfunction of the outlet itself: either replace it, or plug the cooler into a different outlet.
If the cooler does not start working in it, you will have to disassemble equipment:
We remove the panel on the rear panel, check the fuse is working. If necessary, insert a new element.
Again, nothing happened, which means that the reason is in the heating element. In this case, the malfunction can only be eliminated at the service center.
There are only two reasons for the appearance of such a malfunction:
When installing the bottle, they forgot to remove the label.
During operation, a plug of air appears in the tank, which does not allow the cooler to work efficiently. It is easy to eliminate the inoperative state of the installation: the dispenser is pumped until air bubbles appear in the water tank itself.
If the owners use the cooler correctly, follow the instructions, then, as a rule, such misunderstandings do not arise. In addition, checking the operation of the taps should be done every time the water in the bottle is changed.
If you notice that from the dispenser water spontaneously flows out, check the integrity of the container. Perhaps microcracks have appeared on it. You can eliminate this error yourself. To do this, remove the damaged bottle and replace with a new plastic container.
If liquid is constantly leaking, dripping from the tap, then you cannot cope with the problem with your own hands: only the specialists of the service center can remove this malfunction.
Electronic coolers often suffer from this disease. This is due to the design of the equipment and technical capabilities. Cooling of one liter takes place in an hour, while the water temperature can be fifteen degrees below the ambient air.
The coolers do not have great performance capabilities. These devices do not belong to high-performance appliances... If you need colder water, then the cooler is installed in a cool room out of the sun.
The technical parameters of the coolers are to blame for the malfunction. In a standard device, no more than five liters of water can be heated in one hour. If the liquid is poured in a larger volume, then the cooler does not have time to heat the water.
This is not a breakdown of the device, it can be easily eliminated if the instructions for use are followed. But the presence of scale contributes to the fact that the water will not heat up quickly enough.
The cooler should be mechanically cleaned from time to time. The work is carried out depending on the model and recommendations.
Steps for disassembling the cooler:
Self-tapping screws are unscrewed from the back wall using a curly screwdriver. A tank with temperature sensors, in which the water is heated, is located at the top of the device.
On the right, a drain plug is rigidly attached through which water is drained. There is another plug on the left, which is removed to drain the cold water in the cooling system.
Taking the key number 15, you need to remove the rubber seal. Using a small curved screwdriver with a long enough handle, remove the 4 screws.
We dismantle the heating tank by cutting off the clamps from the branch pipe, and then all the pipes.
Then we are engaged in the removal of power wires, thermal sensors, ground wires with six screws.
If, after removing the tank, there is no paste on the seats, then you need to cover them with thermally conductive paste.
After that, we begin assembly, starting with the last removed part.
After completing the assembly, fill the system with water. We check how it flows. After that, it remains to connect the device to the network. If the indicator lights are working properly, then the problem has been fixed. You can watch the video in more detail about this operation.
Other troubles:
The cooler may fail if it was turned on when there was no water. Heating elements heat up and burn out.
The pump has failed. You need to connect the cooler to the network and check the operation of this element.
When installing the cooler, make sure that there is a distance of about 10 cm between the device and the wall. Otherwise, the device may quickly become unusable.
Use water with a low salt content, then scale will not appear soon.
Do not leave the cooler plugged in if it runs out of water.
Never disassemble the device yourself if the cooler has not expired the warranty period.
DIY HotFrost cooler repair
Let's consider several cases of cooler repair, for example, let's take a cooler of the HotFrost802CE model.
This article is designed primarily for those people who have the necessary skills to work with electrical appliances, who are able to give an account of their actions themselves. After all, repairing a HotFrost cooler with your own hands is quite a serious matter. And he must be approached with all responsibility. For the rest, the inscription on the cooler “DO NOT OPEN”, which means “DO NOT OPEN” in Russian, should be the final phase in the repair of the cooler. There is no need to climb further. Trust the professionals better. Take your cooler to a repair shop where it will be brought back to life for you.
What to do if the cooler does not heat (does not boil) the water?
The photo shows that there are a total of three indicator lights. If shines yellow indicator, it means that the device is connected to the network. It always burns. Red indicator responsible for heating. It goes out when the water is heated to a temperature of 96 C, and, accordingly, is suitable for making hot drinks (tea, coffee). Green indicator signals the operation of the cooling system. As soon as the cold water temperature reaches +5 C, it turns off. But what if the red indicator is off and the water from the hot tap is cold?
If your cooler does not heat up the water and, at the same time, the heating indicator does not light up, as shown in this photo, then in 90% of cases the cooler has the following faults:
a) one of the temperature sensors (very rarely both come out at the same time)
b) defective Heating element of the heating tank
In order to repair any equipment yourself, including a water cooler, you need to stock up on a tool. So, for example, in our case, you will need the following tools:
b) 15 "open-end wrench
c) small Phillips screwdriver
you will also need plastic clamps necessary to tighten and seal the connections
In order to start the repair, you must first de-energize the device, then remove the bottle and drain all the water from it.
This is the rear view of the HotFrost cooler
Use a curly screwdriver to unscrew the self-tapping screws that secure the rear decorative panel.
Having removed the rear decorative panel, we can proceed with further repairs.
So, a heating tank with thermal sensors installed on it is located in the upper part of the cooler. In the enlarged photo of the upper part, the tank is located in the lower left corner.
these are the screws used to attach the rear decorative panel of the cooler
On the right stiffener rib, we can find just such a drain plug. It is necessary in order to completely drain the water from the heating tank. The exact same plug can be located on the left stiffener rib (for some cooler models) and serves to drain cold water from the cooling system.
Remove the drain plug cap by turning it counterclockwise. Then remove the rubber seal
Use a 15 ″ wrench to remove the drain plug nut
This is how the cap, rubber seal and drain plug nut look (from left to right, respectively)
We release the drain plug from the bore hole
The tube goes through a hole in the plastic support on which the heating tank is attached
Use a small curly screwdriver to unscrew the heating tank fastening screws counterclockwise
There are only four fastening screws. The difficulty in removing them lies in the fact that there is very little space for a screwdriver, so you need just a small screwdriver, with a total length of no more than 60 mm with a handle
Having released the fasteners, we proceed to dismantle the heating tank itself
We cut off the clamp of fastening of the water supply pipe with pliers
Cut off the clamps of the upper branch pipes with pliers
We remove all pipes supplying water to the tank
We remove the power wire. It is through it that voltage is applied to the heating element. There are only two power wires. Red and black. There is no difference in the disconnection sequence.
We remove the second power wire
We remove the temperature sensors and two ground wires
And the temperature sensors and two ground wires are fastened with such screws. There are only 6 of them.
And this is what a thermal sensor looks like.
And finally, after so many procedures, we got out the heating tank.
As you can see, the seats for the thermal sensors are treated with a special white heat-conducting paste.
This is how the new heating tank from the cooler looks like.
As you can see, the seats for the temperature sensors are clean. They need to be coated with thermally conductive paste for better operation of the temperature sensors.
Has your cooler stopped completely or partially cooling or heating the water, is there a leak? Do not rush to contact the service center for help, you may be able to fix the problem yourself.
First, you need to determine what type of system is installed in your device. You will also need to understand the layout and structure of the cooler itself with a bottom water loading. Next, you need to find your model on the manufacturer's website and drive the serial number into the search system using the link: HotFrost V400AS water cooler with bottle loading and then go to the instructions.
The main components of this cooling system are peltier (thermoelectric cooler) and a fan that cools it. Therefore, if the cooler stops cooling the water, then you should look for the cause of the problem, first of all, in the above elements.
Residents of Syzran ask: how to find out for sure what exactly broke in the dispenser, and how to fix it? To do this, you need to do the following steps:
- partially disassemble the dispenser by removing its back cover. To do this, you need a Phillips screwdriver, with which all the necessary bolts are unscrewed;
- monitor the fan operation by running the cooler in a half-disassembled state. If this element is inactive, it means that the problem of the cooling system lies in it;
- remove the fan by removing the corresponding bolts;
- buy and install a new fan;
- without screwing back the rear panel of the cooler, check the fan's performance;
- refit the rear casing of the dispenser (if the new element works properly).
Another scenario is also possible: disassembling the cooler, you may find that the fan is working properly. In this case, you will have to replace the peltier.
It is much more difficult to diagnose and repair compressor coolers. They work on the principle of a freon refrigerator and have much more power than coolers with an electronic cooling system.
Most often, in such coolers the compressor itself breaks down, or freon fluid leaks out, which means that you will have to invite an appropriate specialist to fix the problems. Not every "semi-specialist" will be able to replace the compressor on his own, or to pour freon into the system.
Often, the water in the dispenser remains warm not at all due to a breakdown of the device, but, for example, due to a power failure, a lack of voltage, or due to a faulty outlet.
Perhaps the problem lies in the incorrect position of the cooler toggle switch. Compare the position of the appliance with that described in the instructions that came with the dispenser.
Quite often, the owners of coolers complain that their devices cool the water, but too weakly. There are a lot of reasons for this situation, and the most common of them are:
- heavy load on the device... If the dispenser is used by many people continuously, it simply does not have time to cool the water to the required degree.In this case, the device must be given some time to completely cool the liquid - about 15 minutes.
- incorrectly set water thermostat... The control may be set too low. Change the thermostat settings, and the dispenser will start dispensing water at the required temperature.
- lack of the required level of ventilation of the device... Make sure there is an air gap (minimum ten cm) between the equipment chassis and a nearby object or wall.
- overheating of the components of the cooling system... Disconnect the cooler from the mains for about half an hour and then turn it on again.
Repairing the cooling system of a cooler most often requires a professional approach, so if you are not confident in your own abilities, use the qualified help of the appropriate repair services. Otherwise, excessive self-activity can lead to failure of the entire dispenser.
Water coolers are becoming more and more popular every year, as they allow you to have constant access to drinking water both in office and at home. But sooner or later, all devices fail. Sometimes water cooler malfunctions are not so serious. Therefore, before contacting the service center, familiarize yourself with the main causes of device malfunctions and try to eliminate them yourself.
The following are the most common types of cooler malfunctions:
contamination of the device, the appearance of a green tint in the water;
cold water does not flow from the cooler;
the device does not heat water enough or does not at all;
insufficient or slow cooling of water;
fluid leakage;
noisy operation of the device.
Some problems can be fixed on your own and in the shortest possible time. Let's consider each type of malfunction.
Since the cooler contains non-distilled water, dirt from impurities, salts and bacteria accumulates on the walls over time. If the device becomes very dirty, it may stop working. To clean the device, you need to do the following:
Unplug the device from the mains and remove the bottle.
Clean the outside of the appliance with any detergent.
Rinse and rinse the tray thoroughly.
Clean the faucets with a fine brush.
Assemble the device, place the bottle and drain some water through the taps to get rid of the remaining detergent inside.
We recommend cleaning at least every six months.
Also, to prevent heavy contamination of the device, use only purified bottled water.
We have selected the five most common reasons for the lack of water in the taps:
the bottle has run out of water;
the hygiene label has not been removed or completely removed;
airlock;
foreign object in the system;
the water supply pipe is pinched.
If you run out of water, you need to turn off the device, remove the empty bottle and put a new one. After 2-3 minutes, turn on the device. If the liquid still does not pass, it is necessary to check whether the protective sticker has been removed. It must be removed sharply, not allowing the debris to fall into the system.
Also, the reason for the lack of passage of water can be an air lock. To get rid of it, you need to simultaneously shake the bottle and press the faucet until the water flows. If the water still does not pass, it is necessary to disassemble the cooler and check if there are any foreign objects in the pipes and other parts of the device.
Incorrect screwing of the faucet can result in a pinched water supply pipe. Therefore, we do not recommend that you reinstall the faucet yourself, since for this you need to disassemble the cooler. If this problem has already occurred, the cooler should be returned for repair.
There are several reasons why hot water does not flow from the cooler. The first and most common is that the heating mode is not turned on.Check the heating switch on the back of the device and, if necessary, turn it to the "I" or "on" position.
The second reason is that the device simply does not have time to heat the water. Read the instructions on the performance of your cooler. Most often, the device heats up no more than 5 liters of liquid per hour of operation. Solution: Leave the cooler on and do not use it until the heating indicator goes out. Also, do not use the device too intensively, because it is designed for a certain number of people. Also, scale formation can be the reason for the slowdown in the heating of the liquid. Therefore, it is important to clean the device regularly.
The next reason that the cooler does not heat the water may be a malfunction of the outlet to which the device is connected. Checking should be done using any electrical device. If there is no voltage, the cooler must be connected to a different power source. If after that the heating indicator still does not turn on, you need to check the fuse in the cooler itself on the rear panel. You may need to insert a new item.
If you have already checked everything, and the water still does not heat up, the problem is in the heating element itself. To fix the breakdown, you need to contact a specialist. Attention! Do not turn on the appliance if there is no water in it, as the heating element may burn out.
What if the cooler does not cool the water? First of all, figure it out - the device does not cool the liquid at all, or it does cool, but not enough. It should be understood that most cooler models require about an hour to cool one liter of liquid. Therefore, you should wait until the appliance reaches the desired temperature.
Also, water can be poorly cooled if proper ventilation is not provided on the back of the appliance. To remedy the situation, you need to place the device at a distance of at least 10 cm from the wall. Sometimes the cause of a malfunction may be overheating of system components. To fix this problem, you need to turn off the cooler for a while and let it cool down.
Attention! It is not recommended to use the device at an air temperature above 30 ° C, as this can lead to a breakdown of the Peltier element.
If you notice water leaking from the dispensary, you should check the container for cracks. The defective bottle can be replaced by yourself. To do this, turn off the device, remove the damaged container, drain the remaining water from the tap and install a new bottle. Wrap the damaged one in foil and return to the supplier.
If the tap leaks, you need to contact the service center to replace it. Also, water can leak if there is no plug in the drain valve. You can put it on your own or contact a specialist.
If during the operation of the cooler you notice a too high noise level, this may indicate an incorrect installation of the device. Most likely, the cooler is placed on an uneven floor or rests on other objects. Place the unit on a flat, solid surface and check if the cooler installation meets the requirements in the instructions.
In the process of everyday operation of water dispensers, a number of malfunctions arise, for the elimination of which it is not always necessary to call a master or service a service center for the repair of coolers.
You can try to fix some breakdowns on the spot, with your own hands, on your own.
Remnants of the protective hygienic cap from the bottle cap prevent water from entering.
Remove the bottle and remove any remaining protection.
If the problem persists, remove the neck by turning it by an angle of 10-15 degrees counterclockwise, check the contents of the distribution tank.
Always manually remove the hygienic protective cap from the bottle cap before placing it on a top-loading machine.
The remnants of the label, getting inside, not only pollute the clean water you buy, but, accumulating, gradually disable check valves, taps and other elements of the cooler.
An “air lock” has formed preventing water from entering the dispenser.
Shake the bottle slightly until you can visually detect air bubbles entering.
The bottle has run out.
Make sure there is water in the bottle. Install a full bottle.
The pump supplying water from the bottle to the top does not work.
Check the connection of the device to the 220V network. Turn off and on the cooler, check the operation of the pump.
The water sensor is not working properly.
Try removing and reinstalling the bottle water tube.
Get in the habit of turning off (using the toggle switches located at the back of the case) cooling and heating when the water is depleted and turn it on only after installing a filled bottle and checking the flow of liquid from the taps.
After inserting a full bottle and turning on the toggle switches, wait a few minutes for the Heating and Cooling indicators to turn off.
Microcrack in the walls or bottom of the bottle.
Examine the bottle, try to locate the leak.
In case of defects in the bottle, water should flow out in a thin stream from the gap in the gap with the bottle and the neck.
Usually such a trickle is practically invisible to the eye. Run a regular paper towel over the top of the cooler (around the neck); if it gets wet, the bottle is to blame.
Carefully remove the bottle from the dispenser and call your supplier.
Polycarbonate containers are used many times, but they do not last forever.
The life cycle of a bottle is on average 50-70 uses.
Any bottle undergoes several checks: during acceptance, cleaning, on the filling line, at the supplier's warehouse, at the delivery warehouse, but alas: sometimes a microcrack will appear only after delivery.
Aqua Market quickly replaces such bottles ordered from us with full ones free of charge.
The absence of a valve on the drain hole.
Check valve is present and tighten tightly until leak is eliminated.
Drain valves are usually located on the back of the apparatus, in compressor models it is usually 1, in electronic models it is 2.
To avoid damage to property and short-circuit wiring, do not install the device near expensive furniture and household electrical appliances.
Such devices are capable of cooling about 0.6-1 liters (i.e. 3-5 glasses) of water per hour at a temperature of about 12-15 degrees below the environment.
Move the dispenser to a cooler and more ventilated place, remove the body and bottle from direct sunlight - these measures will help remove a few degrees of heat from the water.
Check the working order of the fan installed inside the cooler (on the back of the device) - it should work to blow out air.
There must be an air gap of at least 20 cm between the back wall and the furnishings of your room.
Failure to comply with this rule not only reduces the cooling efficiency, but can also damage the device.
Too heavy use
A typical dispenser is designed to heat up to 92-97 ° C for about 5 liters per hour. The capacity of the internal tank with already heated hot water is usually enough for 2 cups (400-500 ml).
Before pouring the next glass from the “hot” tap, make sure that the heating indicator turns off, otherwise the cooler may not have time to heat the water for you.
Check the presence of current and the position of the toggle switches of the heating and cooling systems
After turning on the machine, wait a few minutes until the heating and cooling indicators go out.
The heating rate is also affected by the formation of scale on the walls of the hot water tank. To remove it, you must periodically clean the cooler yourself or with the help of specialists.
We recommend to carry out such processing at least once every 6 months.
To slow down the scale formation process, it is necessary to use only high-quality drinking water with a low salt content, for example, from the Aqua Market assortment.

Failure to comply with the rules of transportation and storage conditions, technical requirements for the installation and operation of dispensers is one of the most common reasons for their breakdowns.
In this article, you will learn:
What is the principle of operation of a water cooler
What are the types of coolers that cool water
Why the cooler doesn't cool the water
How can you troubleshoot water cooling problems in a cooler?
When is it better to contact a specialist to repair a cooler that does not cool the water
A floor-standing or desktop cooling water cooler is a very convenient thing in the office for both employees and visitors. Service maintenance ensures uninterrupted and long-term operation of the device. However, there are situations when repairs at a service center are not possible for some reason, and the cooler has stopped cooling the water. Malfunctions are most often caused by careless transport of the dispenser, improper installation or use of the dispenser. To correctly solve the problem and figure out why the cooler does not cool the water, you need to know the possible causes of the breakdown and how to fix them.
A cooler is a device thanks to which employees and visitors to the offices of public and private companies can easily be provided with cold or hot water. The design consists of a dispenser and a container for drinking water in the form of a plastic bottle with a volume of 19-30 liters, as well as a check valve and a connecting pipe.
The potable water tank is connected to the dispenser. The dispensing system of the dispenser consists of two containers in which hot and cold water is stored. The cold water tank is filled first. From it, through the connecting pipe, the liquid is supplied to the boiler and heats up. The two tanks are separated by a non-return valve that balances the system pressure and prevents mixing of water flows.
So, the action of the heating and cooling cooler begins with the flow of a metered amount of water into the storage tank for its subsequent cooling or heating. Power is supplied from a 220 V electrical network. The coolers are equipped with water heating and cooling control sensors. Thanks to them, when the desired temperature is reached, the operation process stops, and the device goes into a standby state, without consuming electrical energy until the temperature changes. This mode is called “heating-off”.
The rated power depends on the cooler model. Almost all of these devices are configured to heat water to + 95-98 C o and cool it to +4 C o.
Advanced models of coolers - coolers are connected to the water supply system, filtering and cooling or heating running water. Filtration is carried out by mechanical or chemical purification, which provides 96-99% pure water.
Manufacturers of flow-through apparatus use the most highly efficient achievements in the field of liquid purification used in medicine, pharmaceuticals, and perfumery. The charcoal filter guarantees the removal of unpleasant odors and harmful impurities from water, its purification and improvement of taste.
Modern manufacturers of heating and cooling water coolers are pleased to offer consumers a wide range of various models of various shapes, designs, sizes, functionality, options, with and without additional options. Drinking water cooling is one of the most basic functions of any standard cooler, especially important during hot periods. There are two types of cooling - electronic and compressor. Let's dwell on each of them and take a closer look at all the advantages and disadvantages.
The operation of electronic cooling systems for water coolers is based on the Peltier principle. The name of this principle was given by the name of Jean Peltier, a French physicist who noticed and substantiated in 1834 the cooling of the junction of conductors by passing an electric current through them. Russian academician A.F. Ioffe continued his research and synthesized a special semiconductor alloy, which made it possible to expand the application of the discovered effect and begin mass production of devices with electric cooling.
The main operating element in coolers with electronic water cooling systems is a semiconductor thermoelectric module, made up of several thermocouples connected together, placed between the plates. Under the influence of an electric current, one of the plates heats up, and the other cools down, which creates the effect of a temperature difference.
Coolers with electronic water cooling have undeniable advantages:
affordable price;
simplicity of design;
ease of transportation;
environmental friendliness;
lack of freon.
But there are also significant drawbacks. One of them is a low level of performance of electronic coolers: heating or cooling water no more than 5-6 glasses per hour. This is a low indicator for using the cooler in a crowded place. Another disadvantage is the ability to cool water only to 12 ° C, which is not enough for too hot weather.
All this suggests that it is impractical to install coolers with electronic cooling of water in a room with an elevated air temperature, because the water will cool for a very long time. Unventilated or dusty rooms are also not suitable for installing coolers. Dust and dirt can clog the fan and completely destroy the equipment cooling module.
In general, coolers with an electronic type of cooling are characterized as affordable equipment, the use of which is advisable with a minimum demand for cold water. For offices of companies with a large number of employees and visitors, such equipment is not very convenient.
Water cooling in compressor coolers follows the same principle as in refrigerators or air conditioners. The design of these coolers consists of:
the compressor itself, which creates the required pressure difference;
a thermostatic valve that maintains the created differential pressure;
an evaporator that takes heat;
a condenser that generates heat into the surrounding space;
refrigerant - a substance that transfers heat from the evaporator to the condenser.
Professionals recommend compressor-cooled coolers, considering them reliable and high-performance devices. Coolers equipped with a built-in refrigerator cannot be without a compressor. Such models cool up to 3 liters of water per hour. For some cooler variants this figure reaches 5 liters. The chilled water temperature reaches 5-7 C o.
The key and demanded functionality of compressor-cooled coolers is the setting of the temperature regime. The only drawback of such models is their weight, which somewhat limits movement and transportation.
Due to their functionality and performance, coolers equipped with a compressor type of cooling are becoming more and more popular and in demand for a wide variety of conditions.Having studied the characteristics of coolers with electronic and compressor cooling systems, their strengths and weaknesses, you can more constructively approach the choice of the right model for specific conditions. An individual approach oriented towards future operating conditions guarantees the selection of the most suitable cooler model.
The most popular equipment for storing and distributing drinking water in offices and administrative premises are floor-standing coolers of various models. The installation of coolers provides visitors and employees with access to drinking water. Floor-standing models differ in design, shape, technical characteristics and are selected in accordance with the needs and interior direction of the room.
The main difference in the models of floor-standing coolers is in the performance of their cooling and heating systems. Cheaper options heat up to 4 liters of water and do not have a cooling function, maintaining only room temperature. Expensive coolers can cool 22 liters of water per hour and heat up to 8 liters.
The desktop cooler is a lighter version. Installed on a table or windowsill. Often, such models have electronic devices for water treatment. They are characterized by low performance. Desktop coolers are ideal for small offices.
Let's suppose that, completely unexpectedly, the cooler does not cool the water or stops working altogether. The reasons can be very different. From commonplace and easy to fix to complex and requiring a visit to the service center. Review the list of possible problems below to understand why the cooler does not cool the water and how serious the damage to your equipment is.
1. The cooler does not cool water well in the following cases:
High water consumption. The dispenser has no time to cool the water to the required temperature. Focusing on the type of cooling of your cooler, try to give the device time (on average 15 minutes) to cool the water.
The water thermostat is incorrectly set. A thermostat set at the minimum level can also cause poor water cooling. Change the current settings.
Poor ventilation conditions. The equipment enclosure must have at least 10 cm of air gap around it and not touch any walls. Lack of optimal ventilation conditions can result in poor cooling of the water in the dispenser.
If the cooler does not cool the water, the reason may lie in the overheating of the cooling elements. To eliminate this cause of poor water cooling in the cooler, you just need to disconnect the equipment from the power supply and leave it off for half an hour.
2. Cooling does not occur at all in the following cases:
Power supply problem. First of all, take a look at the corresponding indicator on the cooler panel and make sure that the equipment is connected to the mains and the voltage is of the correct level. A power failure, a problem with the outlet, or a disconnection of the dispenser from the mains may cause a failure in the cooling of the water.
Incorrect position of the cooling toggle switch. Study the instructions that came with the cooler. Determine the correct position of the water cooling control toggle switch. Usually such a toggle switch is located on the back of the device.
Fan or Peltier element defective. Long-term use of a cooler equipped with electronic water cooling elements in a poorly ventilated room leads to malfunctions in the fan or overheating of the Peltier element. If the cooler does not cool the water, and the fan is running, then contact the service center specialists to find and replace damaged parts.
Compressor breakdown. Such problems are typical only for coolers with compressor cooling of water and require replacement or repair of the compressor itself. Careless handling of equipment, in particular, with a radiator grill, can lead to the appearance of microcracks and leakage of freon.The service center employees can easily identify and seal the leak, then pump in the required amount of refrigerant.
Now you know what to do if the cooler stops cooling the water. If there is no water cooling at all, try first to make sure that the reason is not improper operation or some kind of accident and cannot be eliminated by you yourself. Failure of a fan, Peltier element or compressor requires contacting specialists and replacement of some parts. In such cases, if the cooler does not cool the water, do not make repairs with your own hands, so as not to completely spoil the device. Difficult problems should be dealt with exclusively by professionals.
