Nokia Center will fix the cause of the breakdown and repair it. An urgent repair of the Nokia 8800 is always possible at the Nokia Center immediately on the spot. From practice, it can be established that 80% of all defective devices were repaired immediately on the day the phone was handed over to the service center. All repairs and used parts are warranted for three months.
Over time, any mobile device, be it a portable music player, landline phone, or 8800 cell phone, ceases to function properly. It becomes more difficult to use an old phone, since the numbers on the keypad are no longer visible due to abrasions, the nokia 8800 is quickly discharged, small scratches appear on the casing and glass of the display, the quiet 8800 speaker or does not work at all. And then the question arises: Where to take the phone for repair and how much will the repair work cost 8800?
Below, we will try to describe in more detail the common faults of the 8800 cell phone and the cost of their elimination, as well as the repair time.
I decided to describe all the known "hardware" problems of Nokia 8800.
So: No. 1 working time about a day. Everyone knows the problem. In the talk mode of 20-30 minutes a day, without actively using the backlight (writing, editing long philosophical messages to admirers / admirers), then the evenings of the second day live. Ie somewhere 36 hours. It may take longer in pager mode - it has not been tested. With good conversations, it may not live until evening.
№2 Glorified bracket in the chassis mechanism. This is the problem! The renovation is very expensive. The chassis costs about 30-40 USD. But that’s not the problem! To put on a new chassis, you need to disassemble the phone to a screw! Complete dismantling of all electronics. They will ask for at least $ 50. and higher. It makes no sense to repair the old chassis. Unless you have acquaintances at a working, and not a collapsed factory where there is spot welding. This is how all the body material of iron was welded + the welding place is difficult to access. But probably.
No. 3 Glass opacity around the perimeter with a thickness of 1-5 mm. In summer, in hot weather, sweat from the cheek penetrates into the cracks between the glass and the case. It remains there, forming smudges along the perimeter. It is treated only by replacing the glass or the lid itself with the glass in the collection.
All of the following during operation:
No. 4 cover backlash: it is treated by removing the latches from the body (easily removable) and bending them perpendicularly downward for a closer contact with the body, and therefore the back cover with the body. You can also take the lid in your hand and squeeze a little (c). It helps.
# 5 dents and potholes: the treatment is banal. We lay on a smooth flat surface, squeeze out with a hard flat object in the opposite direction (for example, pliers / pliers). (c) The main thing is not to overdo it and not make a belly on the back side. The flip cap is more difficult. There is no direct access. Alternatively, take a flat, smooth file, put the end in place of the dents and tap on top in the middle, holding the other end in your hand. Something like a swing, only at one end of the hand, and at the other, there is a dent. We knock in the middle. Helps a little. You can also visit the nearest jewelry repair shop. There they will polish the body to the mirror. Scratches will disappear and you will have a unique mirror case.
Perhaps they will also help you with the chassis, as there should be spot welding or miniature welding. It is possible to repair the chassis using a rivet, that is, fixing the bracket to the chassis. But the rivet must be fairly flat for the chassis to function properly. You need to consult with the master. If you take it, then the quality and the main thing is reliability will be HIGHER than new.
No. 6 scratches on the display: polished with GOI paste, or with a more perfect tool: Displex white paste. Most likely made on the basis of diamond dust. Make sure that the polishing cloth is thin and does not absorb well. Otherwise, the whole tube will be absorbed into the fabric. Polishes perfectly. Polish for a long time 15-60 minutes. Depending on what quality you want to get at the end.Although it is designed for glass, it polishes the case itself quite well. But the highest quality, of course, is in jewelry or a watchmaker.
P.S: For a complete body, consisting of 5 parts, namely: 1.Lid with glass 2.flip cap 3.back cover 4.body 5.chassis
They ask for 130-150 USD. for silver and up to $ 180 for black. Black is not recommended as it is simply dyed silver. Sooner or later, he will wipe off the edges, showing his silvery essence. Silver will remain so. Although as you like.
Summary: when buying a working but outwardly killed Nokia 8800, you can save from $ 100 to $ 200. and above by installing all the electronics in a completely new, original housing. The only problem is the high-quality installation of a dense arrangement of electronics and the choice of problem-free terminals by the donor.
the image shows as if an old TV set without an antenna (multi-colored noise). Original body (RM-13). I suspect that there is a loop, but there is no way to check, and it costs 3-5k to order a loop, and the client said that he would not agree to this cost. Maybe someone met such a problem on Nokia?
Disassemble and look for breaks on the loop.

if you cannot order - return the phone to the client, especially since he does not think to pay
There was only such a sirroko recently with such a problem! Look at the plume at the bottom under the screen, most likely water! cleaning and soldering in my case solved the problem!
Below - under the screen - the camera's graphics accelerator. There are complaints about the camera. Look carefully and clean the cable connector with isopropyl alcohol - he really doesn't like even a hint of dirt.
today I'll sort it out and call you. Here is a photo

At the fotik, the battery sat down, did not have time to put the normal settings. Here is a photo
apparently pictures on the display. only the unfortunate fact surfaced - “today I’ll sort it out and call you. “I always believed that first parsing, trying, reading, asking for advice from a colleague on the ace, the phone .. if a dead end, we will post here, IMHO.
I just didn’t want to disassemble it because it was an expensive device, I thought if they said that there was a train, I’ll give it to the client right away. Legs did not reach the microscope, then seeing off at my brother's, then birthday. I noticed stripes in the light on the display. Is this normal or is it cracked from impact? Moreover, they play only in the light, there are no visible cracks.

In this review, we would like to present you a novelty from Nokia. of course, the design deserves special attention in this model. The device is equipped with a semi-automatic mechanism. In other words and as an example, it can be noted that if in the Nokia 8910 to open the keyboards it is enough to press the buttons located on the sides of the device, then in the case of the model we are considering, the movable part will have to be brought to the middle of the case, the rest of the way it passes by itself. Some may be saddened by the fact that the phone is not equipped with a folding / unfolding audio function. However, some people will like the absence of this function, since only the first time "overflow" and "croaking" gives pleasure, after a certain time it starts to get boring.
The keyboard of the device, frankly speaking, is far from the top of ergonomics. Most of the buttons have to be pressed with your fingernail, since the bottom row of buttons is very tight against the protruding metal base.
The body of the model is almost entirely made of metal (note: not of metal-plastic).The material used to make the case is real steel. Both the battery cover and the front panel are made of this material. Thus, Nokia 8800, like a medieval knight, is almost completely covered in armor.
The display of the device is also endowed with a distinctive feature: it supports 262 thousand color shades. It is worth noting that the Nokia 8800 is the first phone (not a smartphone) from the company that can boast of this feature. The matrix resolution is 208x208 pixels, which is the same as in the Nokia 6230i. However, in comparison with the latter, the display has become even more sensitive to the sun, the device can be used in clear weather without any problems and searching for suitable tilt angles in order to see at least something. The cost of replacing the display on a Nokia 8800 phone is not cheap.
Once again, we note the good work of the designers. The mobile device looks prestigious and stylish. Taking the phone in hand, you feel its mass, and there is no impression that you are holding a Chinese "rattle" in your hands.
The device also has a niche for a camera. When folded, the lens is protected from all kinds of damage, as well as dirt and dust. There is no separate button for activating the camera.
The main menu of the device is very similar to the menu in Nokia 6230i, both in content and design, which, however, is not surprising, since both phones operate on the 40th platform.
The maximum operating time of the device, which was declared by the manufacturer, is 3 hours. In standby mode, the mobile device can withstand up to 200 hours. In practice, however, the mobile device has to be charged daily. This state of affairs can be easily explained: the phone is endowed with great functionality, a rather "powerful" display for it, great communication capabilities and at the same time a Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 600 mAh. As compensation, the device comes with another battery and a device that charges the battery in isolation from the device itself.

Today we will pull the phone book from the once legendary phone. )
We will need: 1. Blue box with activated BEST and Contant Extractor. 2. An old, useless, not blue box. Will be used as an F-BUS interface to connect a telephone.
Or such an old, useless, blue box. )))
Well, the cable itself, separate or universal. Putting the constructor together, we attach the boxes to the computer. )
Launch BEST, select Connect - COM / UFS / JAF.
We select the box to which the phone is connected.
The phone will be detected. We merge PM, contacts are in it. )
Open Contant Extractor. On the Nokia tab, select PM, press GO. Select the merged file.
On the Manager tab, a list of contacts will appear. Right-click, select export.
And we save it in the required format. )))
Good day ladies and gentlemen.
So, contrary to belief, I fell into my hands 3310. Broken :)
Backlight - yes, images - no.
Well. Considering the primitive of the construction, we will understand.
It can be easily disassembled, the outer panels are latched, the inner socket is on 6 screws
This is how it all looks from the inside.
We take an eraser and clean the screen contacts.
Well, and if we are talking about old technology.
Glass is broken, some of the buttons are not pressed. Still would! Date of issue 02.2007)
We get to the little screen first.
Well, for Klava - I wash the contacts with alcohol, peeling off the backing.
Putting it back and checking -
The buttons are pressing, everything is fine :)
These are the good old devices.
Well, taking this opportunity, I hasten to congratulate comrade @gepka on his anniversary.As they say, happiness, health :)

Nokia phones are one of the most reliable, and often even the owners of modern smartphones do not want to part with their "old friend", using it as a backup option. And some simply do not want to change Nokia to a more modern phone, since they are completely satisfied with it.
But even with these gadgets, troubles happen. For example, the nokia asha 200 phone is a great usable model, but it happens to freeze. The cause may be shock, water ingress, memory overload, operating system failure.
It happens that there is no way to get into the phone repair service. Something you can do yourself. For example, clear memory by deleting unnecessary SMS and contacts. If your phone gets wet, try drying it by removing the back cover and removing the battery. It will take 1-2 days. If the phone does not work after that, it means that the contacts have oxidized. Try cleaning them with rubbing alcohol, acetone, or a special oxide remover. If this did not help, then alas ... This means that the liquid has thoroughly spoiled the microcircuits and you cannot do without replacing them. And it is better to do it in the service.
If you still want to try self-soldering microcircuits, wiring or a pad on the board, you will need a hair dryer to warm up the microcircuits, flux and rosin. You can only warm up those that are not filled with a compound - a special resin. But if you really need to, there are liquids for removing the compound. Now we act according to the following algorithm:
we warm up and remove the microcircuit;
we clean the remnants of the legs on the microcircuit and the board with a soldering iron;
we put the microcircuit on the stencil, making sure that the holes of the stencil coincide with the contacts of the microcircuit;
cover the holes with BGA paste;
heat the paste until the lead balls appear;
wait for cooling, then remove the stencil;
heat the microcircuit to the board with a hairdryer.
Replacing the glass is easy. It must be greased with soldering fat and heated with a hairdryer. Then clean the contacts on the board to zero with a soldering iron. After that, put a new glass and warm it up with a hairdryer.
Nokia software repair is a job for specialists. It is necessary to understand the firmware configuration: which files are responsible for which functions, as well as many other nuances.It is better for a beginner not to take on this and take the phone to the service, but such trifles as a crack in the glass are an excuse to train their skills.
The reasons for Nokia 8800 Arte phone breakdown can be very different. But most of the devices fail with consequences, which can be eliminated only with the help of qualified service technicians who repair the 8800 model of a Nokia mobile phone. Often, owners of Nokia 8800 phones contact service centers with a request to set up a mobile phone or turn on a device that is locked because the owner has forgotten the password. In this case, Nokia repair takes a small amount of time and does not require serious material costs.
In addition to these common problems for all mobile phones, Nokia 8800 cell phones can, like all other mobile devices, suffer in extreme situations. For example, if the phone accidentally ends up in the washing machine, falls into the bathtub, or accidentally falls under the wheel of a car. As for the typical problems that Nokia 8800 phones have, these include:
1) cracks on the screen (not too strong for this model) due to the fall of the device;
2) failure of the slider or loop;
3) sticking buttons (largely depends on the accuracy of the owner of the phone);
4) problems with software: not very high-quality firmware sometimes leads to "freezing" or braking of the device.
Repairs to the 8800 model of a Nokia phone, in services that care about their image, are inexpensive, even when you need to tinker with the phone (for example, you need to replace a cable or a slider). It's a little easier to replace the display, the easiest and cheapest is to change the keyboard. Re-flashing the device is also possible, but all previously saved data is not saved in the mobile phone, this must be taken into account when handing over the phone for repair, and transfer all information to other media in advance.
Does your nokia need service? The reasons here are simple and understandable, usually it is the ingress of water on the body and parts, mechanical damage and, of course, falls. By the way, more about falls. This is the most common reason why nokia 8800 has to be repaired, since this particular model has a lot of weight, as a result of which the nature of the malfunctions after an impact is much more serious, and the consequences are more severe than in other models with a lower mass. The most common breakdowns after that are a cracked or broken display, glass, and a damaged case.
Despite the fact that the repair of this model is one of the most demanded, this does not affect its cost in the direction of rising prices. The sums for work with such devices differ little from the average prices for the same work with other models. In addition, Nokia is a very reliable device, and frequent customer requests to the workshop to repair the device are associated with the operating conditions of the phone and the user's personal appeal.
Replacing the body of the Nokia 8800 is exactly why the owner of the phone often has to turn to specialists, since many people buy this model as a fashionable device for a business person, and the scuffs do not suit this image very well.
As for the financial issue, let's add a little more: the prices for repairs of this model are constantly changing and almost always decrease as a result of falling prices for spare parts. By the way, we recommend purchasing original parts and discussing this point with the master, because often Chinese spare parts do not differ much from the manufacturer's parts in terms of cost, however, the quality and service life of "Asian souvenirs" leaves much to be desired.
Also, we consider it our duty to warn you that not in all service centers professionals can handle the repair of the nokia 8800, despite the fact that they work with nokia devices almost everywhere. The fact is that the nokia 8800 belongs to premium-class phones, and not every workshop will undertake such devices, so we advise you to contact large organizations.
Usually, in a situation with the nokia 8800 keyboard that has ceased to function, the clogging of this part with dust and dirt is to blame. If your hands are nimble, then it will not be difficult for you to clean the device yourself.
For such a repair of the nokia 8800, you will need a small amount of available tools: a napkin, double-sided tape, an ESD brush, a plate (or a plastic card cut off at the edges), a soft cloth, an eraser with abrasive elements, T4 and T5 screwdrivers.
First of all, unscrew all four bolts located under the battery cover: at the connector, gently pry the case up to the power button. If you have a Nokia 8800 arte in front of you, then remove the antenna by first unscrewing the bolt in the antenna compartment. After that, disconnect the ribbon cable from the board, remove the board and the lower glass. Slide the slider apart, peel off the back cover, unscrew two screws at the top and bottom using a T4 screwdriver. Remove the keyboard cover, but do not touch the display for any reason. Remove the backing and gently clean the copper pads with an eraser. Also, use the ESD brush to clean the board without touching the microphone.
Video (click to play).
After that, assemble the phone in reverse order, fix the decorative cover with tape. If you cannot assemble the device again, immediately contact the master.
