If your hands do not reach, entrust the cleaning to specialists - it will be cheaper to replace the gaskets.
If the timing drive clanks right after starting a cold engine, it's time to change the tensioner. On a V6, it's easy: remove the drive belts and the hatch in the front of the engine. On the V8, access is not so good - you have to remove the radiators and fans. At the same time, make sure that the latter are in good working order, because with a run under 150 thousand km, one of them probably does not spin anymore. If the speed is floating or the engine stalls at idle, it's time to flush the throttle assembly. Please note that after this you will need to calibrate the dealer's scanner.
In addition to the collectors, a couple of neutralizers are installed under the bottom - they begin to deteriorate only at very high mileage, without affecting the mechanical wear of the CPG. The front universal joint and automatic transmission are still normal here (mileage 134 thousand km).
The Jatco five-speed automatic, although it is called adaptive, is poorly adapted to a sporty driving style - the clutches burn out. Officials do not change them, offering to fork out for a new box (340 thousand rubles with a replacement!). And not because they do not know how to repair, but because of the lack of original spare parts. The plant supplies only control units, valves and valve body assemblies, although there are fewer problems with them. Do not despair: on the Internet you will find many companies ready for 150-170 thousand rubles. tidy up even the most dead unit.
In order not to waste money, regularly check the oil (ATF Matic D, it is DEXRON III): if it turns yellow from red, then it has largely lost its properties and it is time to change, but it has darkened and smells burnt - the gearbox repair is not far off. By the way, according to American regulations, the oil is not changed at all (in Europe - after 60 thousand km), which is another reason for the more deplorable state of the car from overseas. And their handouts often fail, refusing to connect the front axle at the most crucial moment.
The weak link in the rear multi-link is the stabilizer bushings and wheel bearings. Sometimes it is difficult to adjust the wheel alignment angles: fasteners sour. Lubricate the joints with anticorrosive if necessary!
In the front suspension, shock absorbers deserve attention (sometimes they jam), steering rods and stabilizer bushings (they wear out by 100 thousand and 40 thousand km, respectively). The stabilizer struts often hold over 120,000 km. Assembled front hubs and rear hub bearings (changed separately) are not famous for longevity and may start to buzz or play after hitting a seemingly trifling obstacle.
With the brakes, there are continuous worries: both the front and the rear discs often warp, and the pads sometimes wear out for 5-7 thousand km. Even if you drive very prudently, the front ones do not live more than 30 thousand, and the rear ones - 40 thousand km. At the same time, the resource of the front discs does not exceed 80 thousand, the rear discs - 100 thousand.km, but again if they are not led earlier.
The cost per kilometer of the FX35 model, calculated according to the methodology of this section (ZR, 2011, No. 1), turned out to be higher than that of the "Nissan-Murano" with the same engine - 17.77 rubles / km. Affected by a more significant loss of value of the car, which, in general, is not surprising for the premium class.
