Similarly, we unscrew the bolt securing the bumper connector to the left rear side member. We remove the rear bumper and rubber seals in the same way as the front ones.
To remove the rear towing eyes ...

The front and rear bumpers are disassembled in the same way - we show it using the example of the front one.

We assemble and install the bumper in the reverse order.

The fastening of the front bumper on the Niva is practically no different from the rear one, so the procedure for its removal will be very similar. In my case, I needed the following tool:

  1. Powerful driver and extension (pipe)
  2. Ratchet handle
  3. 24 mm head
  4. Penetrating grease

First, you need to apply a penetrating lubricant to all connections that are planned to be unscrewed in the future. After that, using a powerful knob and an extension cord, we tear off the bolts securing the bumper to the body. This is clearly shown in the photo below.

Once the bolt is already spinning easily enough, it is best to use a ratchet to get the job done faster and more conveniently.

When one side has been dealt with, the same can be done with the other.

When both bolts of the Niva's front bumper are unscrewed, we proceed to dismantle it. To do this, swinging it from side to side, we pull on ourselves with a decent effort.

Pull evenly on both sides to avoid distortion. When the bumper has practically nothing to hold, we remove it completely and set it aside from the car.

The result of the repair done can be seen in the photo below.

Installation takes place in the reverse order and, again, you can do it yourself if you have the necessary tools at hand. As for the cost of this part, the price can vary from 2,000 to 2,400 rubles, depending on the place of purchase. Although, an excellent option, you can buy a used one for disassembly for only 1000-1200 rubles.

Before you make the rear power bumper according to the drawing, you will need to consider the following features:

  • component color. According to Russian traffic rules, the amount of color that differs from the main color of the car must be less than 30%;
  • the need for space for the installation of license plates, optics on the field 21214. If they are absent, you face a fine;
  • the need for a powerful winch.

The rear power bumper for model 21214 can be made by hand, following these recommendations:

  • in order not to spend a lot of money on materials, take ordinary sheet metal and pipes;
  • dismantle all mechanisms and connections on the car that may interfere with installation (linings, fog lights).

Quite a difficult stage - the creation of a drawing and the design of the rear power bumper for the "Niva 21214" with your own hands. In tuning companies, the drawing is made using computer simulation. However, when making a part with your own hands, a professional drawing can be neglected. Accurate measurements remain the main condition. For this step, you will additionally need cardboard and tape.

The technology for creating a drawing (sketch) of a component is simple: you are required to try on pieces of cardboard, cut and assemble them with adhesive tape. As a result, you will get a sketch. In it, you will need to very carefully check the location of the elements that are symmetrical.

The process of making a frame for Niva 21214 includes:

  • installation work. It involves cutting out the necessary elements from metal sheets according to the created drawing, drilling holes in the sheets by means of a drill. After that, you need to weld, bolt the components of the power bumper together and secure the frame;
  • work with the shape of pipes. To make the rear reinforcing component unusual, you can use a heating pad to bend the pipe in the desired direction;
  • welding. This includes work performed after the installation of the base.

When reinforcing the Niva frame, you need to be careful: if you install a very heavy component, it can break the frame. To prevent this from happening, be sure to compare the mass of a self-made component with the tensile strength of the car body frame. To prevent it from falling off, you will need to additionally secure it to the Niva using spars and kerchiefs. After creating the structure, you will need, in addition to paint, to cover it with a primer - this will protect the material from rust formation.

At first I wanted to give it to a service for welding, but in the end I decided to master this business myself. For this, a FUBAG IRMIG 180 inverter semiautomatic welding machine and 1 kg flux wire were purchased. (there was not enough money for a gas cylinder).
And then came Friday evening - and away we go.
Friday night - disassembled everything and cut off the old tailgate.

I made a temporary shelter from the rain - I helped.

Saturday - we cut off the remnants of the panel, fill up the holes in the amplifier, remove all rust, prime and smear the hidden cavities with mastic.

Sunday - we cut out parts from the body of the old system unit for filling holes between the rear fender and the boot floor, adjust and weld them.

Next, we adjust the rear panel, temporarily fix it with self-tapping screws and scald it. I'm not a welder yet, but it seems to be holding on))).

Further cleaning of welds, priming and painting. After the paint dried, I treated the hidden cavities with Movil from a spray can.
So far, something like this, it remains to put everything back together and install the hitch.
