In detail: DIY abs block repair from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.
In the instructions, we will repair the unit of the brand - Bosch. This is not the best of the abesoks, and in addition, this is exactly what is installed on most brands.
for instance in Audi, Volkswagen, Ford, Skoda, Seat, Renault and even Mercedes come across.
Location of the ABS unit under the hood of the Audi A4
The problem starts with a pesky error and a full screen exclamation mark. Because of which nothing else can be shown by the tidy, it cannot until it fixes the problem.
Everything would be fine and it seems possible to drive, but when selling, the buyer often asks a lot of questions seeing this disgrace. And the most calm when on the electrics - everything is in order.
More often, a breakdown occurs in the electronic part of the unit.
The contacts there are thin and fragile. If the problem is similar to the one described below, with sufficient experience with a soldering iron, you will succeed.
We disassemble. First, let's remove the electronic part. It is connected to the hydraulic (main) part by six bolts. We disconnect the supply cable, then crawl up and unscrew it with a convenient key.
12 contacts of the electro-module
Now you need to carefully open the plastic case of the module. We cut with a cutter along the seam, very carefully, without driving the knife deeply. You can touch the contacts inside.
The case has been opened. We carefully examine the board under a magnifying glass and a bright lamp. Inspection of this unit revealed damage to two contacts on the left side going to the connector.
From the outside, everything seems normal.
By slightly moving these wires, they easily moved away from the contacts.
Gently solder the wiring into place. You can also solder a new common wire instead of these two. You need to solder very carefully - do not overheat the entire module with the board.
Video (click to play).
If in the soldering experience they are not strong - it is better to give it to an experienced friend or to the workshop.
We glue the case back - with good glue (not super).
We return the module to its place.

Yes, with new ABS blocks on new cars, it's even cooler It's all BOSCH
In this matter, haste is harmful, it's like sappers, you can only make a mistake one last time.
Like any other system in a car, the ABS periodically requires maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair. Of course, all the electronic units of this useful system are well protected from external influences and rarely fail, but every motorist should be prepared for the fact that sooner or later they will have to roll up their sleeves and start preventive or repair work. Periodic self-diagnosis is not canceled even by the presence of a self-test system in each car.
It is necessary to pay attention to the prevention of ABS, since it performs a very important function in the car - it prevents the complete blocking of the wheels during braking. This, in turn, not only reduces the braking distance, but also allows the driver to maneuver during braking - without ABS, with locked wheels, any steering movement will lead to an uncontrollable skid of the vehicle, the consequences of which can turn into a disaster.
It is quite natural that do-it-yourself ABS repair is possible only if the problem is accurately identified. Any car with an anti-lock braking system also has a self-test mechanism that is activated when the ignition is turned on.If the system is faulty, an error code is displayed on the on-board computer. Having looked at the instruction manual, the driver will easily understand the current problem and appreciate the possibility of self-repair.
The entire anti-lock braking system can be conditionally divided into a central part, which includes electronic and hydraulic units, and a peripheral part, which includes wheel sensors. It is they who most often become the culprits of failures in the operation of the ABS. The second most popular cause of problems is worn wiring and poor connections that are unable to ensure the integrity of the electrical circuit.
The main part of the ABS is the electronics and the hydraulic unit. They fail quite rarely, and their self-repair is highly undesirable without the appropriate equipment and qualifications. If the reason for the interruptions in the wiring, terminals or the sensors themselves, which are installed on each hub, it is quite possible to do without a visit to the car service.
If it is almost impossible to repair the ABS unit with your own hands, then the wires and sensors are completely at the mercy of the driver. If the ABS indicator lights up frequently while driving, the first step is to check all the wires leading from the unit to the sensors. They should not have strong creases, damage to the insulation. If there are bare areas, such wiring must be urgently replaced - it is better to spend a little time on this than to find yourself in a critical situation without the help of the ABS.
The next step in self-troubleshooting of the ABS will be checking the sensors. To accurately determine their performance, you will need a multimeter, with which the resistance is checked on each of them. The normal values of this indicator can be clarified in the car operation manual - for each system it can differ significantly. To check, you need to either lift the car with a lift, or alternately jack up each wheel.
Each sensor is a fairly simple induction coil, so there is no difficulty in understanding whether it is functional or not - if the resistance does not correspond to the standard, the sensor must be definitely replaced. The cost of a new one is low, the sensor cannot be called a deficit either, and the procedure for self-replacement is not difficult even for a novice car owner.
Normally, after turning the ignition key, the ABS indicator on the dashboard should light up, and after 3 seconds go out - this indicates a successful self-test and no problems. If it continues to burn, or lights up while the car is moving, it is advisable to perform the following steps:
park and turn off the engine;
try to start the engine again after 3-5 minutes;
check the voltage at the output of the battery with a multimeter - its minimum value should be 10.5 V;
check the quality of the contact of the power wires, as well as the wires leading directly to the ABS sensors on the wheels.
To do the above, it will take no more than 5-7 minutes. If after a cursory check of violations it is not possible to identify, you will have to seek help from professionals, or do it yourself, having spent a lot of time checking each sensor.
As practice shows, more than 80% of ABS malfunctions are associated precisely with sensors located on the wheels. They have to work in very unfavorable conditions, therefore, periodic problems that arise in their work are more likely a pattern. When starting to repair ABS with your own hands, you can go in two ways - just replace the sensors with new ones or restore the old one to work. In the latter case, you will have to rewind the coil located inside the sensor - this is a difficult and painstaking job, and without skills, a positive result is not guaranteed.
It is much easier and more reliable to replace the sensor. To do this, you need to remove the old one, which is attached to the hub with one bolt.To get to the attachment point, you will need to dismantle the wheel, remove the caliper and brake disc. To make it easier for yourself to remove the sensor, you can pre-treat the mounting area with WD-40. Install a new one in reverse order. Repair of the anti-lock braking system, in addition to replacing the sensor, should also include checking the wires; if damaged, they should also be replaced. Otherwise, even a new sensor will not be able to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the system, and the slightest short circuit will lead to its immediate shutdown. How to properly repair the sensor is shown in the video:

The ABS system in the Audi A6 ensures better vehicle stability during hard braking and when driving in difficult road conditions. The operation of this system is the regulation of the pressure in the brake circuit depending on the speed of rotation of the wheels, which is recorded by the sensors. The system consists of many units, each of which plays an important role in its operation.
In particular, the ABS control unit receives signals that are received from the speed sensors located on each wheel and from the brake signal switch. Thanks to these signals, the pressure in the hydraulic drive of a particular wheel is controlled. The control unit can independently carry out diagnostics and memorize errors. When these occur, the control lamp on the instrument panel lights up, and an error code is entered into the memory, after reading which you can find out what exactly the malfunction is hidden or which node has failed.
Whatever it was, but there are cases that during operation it is necessary to repair the ABS unit Audi A6. In this case, there are two options: contact a service center or repair yourself. For those who are versed in electronics, why not do this. For example, a problem has arisen: it is impossible to read errors with VAG-COM.
So, first of all, you need to remove the front left wheel and wheel arch liner. Next, remove the washer tank and the hydraulic fluid tank. Then we disconnect the connector of the ABS electronic unit, which consists of two wires. In order to remove the block itself, you need to unscrew six bolts. As a result, the hydraulics remain on the vehicle and the electronics are removed.
To open the block we cut off the lid, for example with a sharp knife. This action must be carried out very carefully so as not to damage anything and so that nothing gets inside. Next, you need to find 2 thin wiring, which are in the middle, and check their contact, which is likely to be unreliable or even absent. To restore the contact of the site, it is necessary to clean, degrease and solder thin copper wire to the site and to the wires themselves. No extra pieces should be left.
The cover is installed in its place. This can be done in any way, for example using hot melt glue. The block is installed in the reverse order. The results of the work performed are checked by VAG-SOM.
Automakers strive to make their products as safe as possible for consumers. For this, almost every vehicle receives a set of all new electronics and other automation units. The presence of ABS in the design of the car can hardly surprise anyone. However, with an increase in the number of nodes in a car, the likelihood of failures also increases. You have to learn how to repair the ABS unit.
Some drivers simply "swing" the contacts away from this node, but this solution reduces the level of driving safety. This is especially important when driving in the off-season and on slippery roads.
ABS's job is to keep the machine moving in a straight line in critical situations. When the vehicle is braked sharply, this unit does not allow the wheels to be completely blocked. Thus, the vehicle does not skid. This feature is often helpful when maneuvering on slippery roads.
The anti-lock braking system includes the following components:
several sensors located on the wheels;
electronic control unit responsible for turning on / off individual elements;
an indicator light installed on the dashboard by the car manufacturer.
Electronics also monitors the health of the entire complex and the resulting defects during operation. If they occur, a warning light appears on the dashboard, notifying of the problem. After that, you will need to do ABS repairs with your own hands or contact a service station for help. The second option will be more expensive. Most often, they offer to completely replace the block, and not bother with figuring out the exact place of an open circuit or an inoperative element.
When the driver turns the key in the ignition lock, the computer system diagnoses the operability of the main components through the sensor system. It is considered normal that the indicator with the inscription "ABS" after turning the key is on for about 3 seconds. Further, it should go out in confirmation of the unit's serviceability.
When fading does not occur or the light comes on while driving, then you must perform the following actions:
We park the vehicle in the nearest permitted area.
Using a multimeter, we diagnose the voltage on the battery, which should not be less than 10.5 V.
We check visually and by disconnecting / connecting the contacts on the battery.
We inspect the wires from the ABS sensors for integrity or breakage.
If it did not work out with simple diagnostic methods, then you will need to contact the station for more accurate computer diagnostics. The equipment will determine the error code, decoding which will reveal the malfunction. Further, the defect will only need to be eliminated. In this case, there are two ways: independent or with the help of bus station workers.
Various reasons can cause the indicator light to come on. There are serious problems that cannot be ignored. And it happens that it is enough to clean off the dirt deposit from the sensor, and we can assume that the repair of the ABS sensor with your own hands is practically completed. In any case, a visual assessment of the condition of the sensor must be carried out.
To do this, you need to jack up the wheel. Next, we unscrew the bolts and remove it from the hub. After that, we turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction from the diagnosed wheel. Unscrew the bolts that block access to the sensors.
Clean the sensors from plaque with a clean cloth. It is advisable not to use aggressive chemicals. You can moisten a cloth in a mild soapy solution and then remove the moisture with a dry cloth. Repair with sensors is usually not carried out, and if they have obvious mechanical defects or damage, then such parts must be replaced.
After cleaning, we return everything to its place in the reverse order of disassembly. We check the information from the indicator light on the dashboard. If the issue is resolved, then "ABS" will go out, and if not resolved, then it is necessary to identify problems in the electrical unit.
The main problem associated with the inoperability of the ABS electronic unit is the lack of contacts between the elements. This can arise from mechanical (shock or violent vibration), chemical (corrosion) or electrical problems (overvoltage burned out).
For repairs, you will need to turn off the problem node and take it to the workbench for convenient repair. We carefully open the case with a construction knife. Typically, parts of the plastic housing are glued to seal. We do not run the knife deeply so as not to damage the wiring or other elements.
We identify the place of breakage or other malfunction. Using a pulse soldering iron, we re-solder the damaged wires. A Weller soldering station is also suitable for soldering. The ceramic base must not be overheated, otherwise all work will lead to complete breakdown of the entire board. All that remains is to throw it away.
We collect the block after repair. Then we install it in its place and check for a signal on the dashboard. If the indicator stops constantly on, then the problem is solved.
When an ABS malfunction signal appears on the dashboard, it is worthwhile to check its condition as soon as possible, at least visually. If mechanical cleaning of the sensors did not bring a positive result, then you will need to repair the ABS unit yourself or with the help of specialists. It is not worth delaying the repair, as this system increases driving safety. It is allowed to drive without ABS for some time, but it is better to do it in dry weather, at low speed and on a good road.
Most modern cars are equipped with a set of systems aimed at driving safety. To prevent wheel blocking during heavy braking or on a slippery road, the anti-lock braking system ABS (ABS) is used. Fully locked wheels are known to increase the stopping distance of a car, and if only a few wheels are locked, the car is more likely to skid.
The ABS includes several systems - the anti-lock braking system itself, the stability control system and emergency braking. The whole complex is controlled by an electronic control unit, and the final device is the hydraulic system of the vehicle.
The signals for the operation of the ABS systems come from a sensor installed on each of the wheels and monitoring the rotation of the wheel at each moment of movement. Based on the speed of the vehicle, the speed of rotation of the wheel, the condition of the road surface or the angle of inclination of the road, signals for the control valves of hydraulic systems are generated at the output of the electronic unit.
The ABS system is very important for the safe driving of a car, therefore, before undertaking repairs with your own hands, you need to carefully weigh everything. Diagnostics and repair of blocks of the ABS system in a car service, even if it will cost a little more than with your own hands, will give a guarantee that failures will not occur at the most inopportune time.
This is especially true for those who are accustomed to using the ABS and rely on its performance.
Like most electronic systems, the ABS has primary self-diagnostics that operate when the key is turned. Diagnostics usually takes a few seconds. If after this time no system malfunctions are noticed, the alarm on the dashboard will go out. When the car is moving, the ABS diagnostics works continuously, and when the parameters of the sensors or terminal devices are not included in the tolerance zone, a malfunction alarm is triggered. When signaling a malfunction, it is necessary with special care to find a convenient place to inspect the car or get to the nearest car service, especially in cold weather, when the roads are slippery. Sometimes it happens that a malfunction can be eliminated with your own hands in a couple of tens of minutes.
To repair blocks of the ABS system with your own hands, you must first measure the voltage of the battery. If the voltage is less than 10.5 V, the ABS control unit will not turn on, so that there are no errors in operation. At normal voltage, you will have to continue troubleshooting. Most of them are due to the wiring of the sensors. Moisture, getting into the connectors, causes oxidation of the contacts, therefore, first of all, you need to assess the condition of the contacts of each sensor of the ABS systems.
Very often, breakdowns of ABS systems are caused by a malfunction of the control unit sensors. To operate the ABS sensor, a gear wheel is attached to the hubs, and the sensor itself is an inductor located at a distance of 0.2–1.5 mm from the teeth. If all the teeth are in place, then it is necessary to measure the gaps between them and the sensors, if necessary, readjust the mounting of the sensors. Dirt accumulated on the teeth and surfaces of the sensors can adversely affect the operation of the ABS.
The coils themselves are checked with an ohmmeter. The device should show a resistance of 1-3 kOhm, depending on the type of sensor. The main thing is that they are all the same on one car. If the ABS sensor coil shows an open or short circuit or is very different from the rest, then it needs to be replaced or repaired. One can only advise to check the place of entry of the connecting conductors into the device. Perhaps the wires are broken, and, having removed a little insulation from the sensor, you can try to solder the break or short. Many devices can be disassembled by heating them with an assembly hair dryer and removing the plastic cover at the wire entry point. It is under this cover that breaks occur most often. In this case, do-it-yourself ABS repairs will not be very serious. Considering the cost of the sensor, such a technique may have a right to exist.
If the sensors are in order, the state of the wiring from them to the electronic unit is not satisfactory, then you need to inspect the control unit. DIY repair of ABS control units is advisable only for those who are very well versed in electronics, know how to use a soldering iron and have the skills to repair electronic devices.
The ABS control unit, as a rule, is made non-separable and hermetically sealed with glue. The printed circuit board on it is filled with a special sealant. If you carefully open it, you can look at the wires soldered to the printed circuit board of the block. Very often they do not withstand vibration and come off. The broken wire must be carefully evaporated and another must be soldered instead. For soldering, you need to use an electric soldering iron with a power of no more than 40 watts. Rosin or its solution in ethyl alcohol is used as a flux.
Do not use soldering acid for soldering ferrous metals as it will corrode printed tracks and copper wires over time.
To check the coils of the hydraulic valves, you need to free their leads from the sealant and apply a voltage of 12 V. A normal coil should work like an electromagnet, attracting steel objects.
Coil rewinding and PCB repair should only be performed by a specialist. It is very difficult to do this with your own hands and, moreover, without any guarantee. In any case, after the repair has been completed, the sealant layer must be restored. You can use neutral silicone for this. Regular silicone contains acetic acid. It cannot be used categorically.
Some time after the repair, the printed conductors on the control unit board will be completely corroded. For the most part, replacement of the control unit is required.
One more note. When replacing brake fluid in a car, it must also be drained from the accumulator (pressure accumulator) of the ABS.This can be done by pressing the brake pedal several times with the ignition off. With the ignition on, the pump in the hydraulic block will try to make up for the loss of fluid. In order to avoid damage to the electronics, during welding on a car, the ABS control unit must also be disconnected from the power circuits by pulling out the connector.

There was a problem with the unit. Once, having slowed down in front of an intersection (in front of me, the driver braked sharply to a blinking green), I started to get an error in the ABS unit. I muffle it, start it up - I drive it for a while, then it lights up again - and so on, until it burns all the time ..
The premise is error 01435. Removing the error helped for about 10 minutes, and then this node completely stopped working on my typewriter.
Hands did not reach for a long time, but in vain. Winter and lack of abs punished me.
I worked with the block 4F0 614 517 R 05 / ALLROAD 4FC6 2007 December. 2.7TDI BPP
In addition to time and effort, it was spent:
- Engraver Dremel 4200/4/65 for correct cutting of the ESP unit; -Soldering iron with the thinnest tip with temperature control - soldering station. - The flux is not conductive and not active! evd flux olus - Low-melting tin with a melting point of no more than 100 degrees - the alloy is ideal for a rose. - MGTF - Microscope - Needle (ordinary sewing needle). - Fine-nosed nail scissors. - Sealant (I used ABRO). - Alcohol for degreasing.
Finally, we managed to remove the electrical part of the unit. I did not unscrew the pipes. The removal process is not easy, I had to remove a little attachment. My 2-month-old son began to help with the repair, while the truth is through the film (I covered the part of the block remaining on the car with it), and in the future, I hope, he will be interested in spending time with me in the garage))) my father and I, as a child very, very interesting to repair a motorcycle.
Further, licked off the drive, with a slight adjustment:
We look and see that thicker silver conductors are suitable for the board around the entire perimeter. These conductors are very flexible, and their installation is performed not even by soldering, but by some kind of welding. tin is not visible there.
We take a needle in our hands and begin to carefully check the conductor by the conductor until we find the conductor, which will move with a slight movement. (i.e. the break is not visible visually. It can be detected only with the help of a needle and EASY, VERY EASY! movement of the conductor). In this case, the wire at the break point is not soldered off, but simply breaks next to the contact pad.
Next, we remove the old wire and seal the new one.
Everything needs to be done very carefully. everything is very small. Can't overheat, etc.

Does the on-board computer of the Audi A4 only show an exclamation mark “!”? The problem may be a broken wire inside the ABS electronic unit. Next, we will analyze how to deal with this malfunction.
Disconnect the connector and remove the electronic unit from the Audi A4. It is attached to the executive module with 6 screws.
Unscrew the upper bolts, then the lower ones (to get to the lower ones, you will have to remove the wheel and fender liner)
With extreme caution (so as not to damage the wiring inside the unit), open the unit with a utility knife.
Look for an open in the two thick wires that run from the ceramic board to the connector. If the break is not visible, try gently touching the wires with tweezers.
AUDI 2000 motor APU 1.8t, we are trying to put on it a block from VW of the same year, there is an error on the sensor and an error that there is no connection with the motor on contact 27 of ABS and indeed contact 27 is missing. This year's VW also has an APU motor, I ask you to tell which contact of the motor motor should come 27 contact ABS, I rummaged through all the schemes and could not find it?
automatic transmission ? what audi? vw?
AUDI 2000 capacity APU 1,8t, automatic transmission, vw-? because on parsing, they just said that this year
the connection with the motor goes through two circuits 13 and 27 of the abs contact, in this diagram 13-45, 27-5 everything is correct, but in my case 13-74, 27-? (an error in the abs just on the 27th contact of which there is no contact, and 13 in order), because the motor APU of the engine has a completely different chip than in the diagram, and this circuit is most likely from two AEB, I also created a topic because the APU is very little information, even in Elsa it is drawn like this
And what kind of wire on the 5th leg is in your version? And maybe write the VIN code. Today this one should arrive, I'll see what kind of motor there is.
Okay, I'll try it once. Audi A4? a6. ? vw pass? vw. can communication on can? maybe the block encoding problem is unsuitable? Are the wires suitable for the machine?

Patient - AUDI A6 late 1999 - early 2000, automatic transmission, dv APU (1.8 T), win WAUZZZ4BZXN101595. On the native ABS (electronic part below) the number 0 273 004 283 is written, contacts were used on it: 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,13,14,15,18,19 , 21. All the rest are unused. (I.e. 27 is absent, 20-30 can is also not, for communication with the motor only 13!) This car was equipped with ABS from about these years with VW number 0 273 004 285 , this is ABS / ASR, coding 00000 (other options as in WIKI did not work for some reason), after turning on two errors, one for the sensor (it was solved quickly 3 by 2), the second 00647 (ECU / ECM electrical connection 2), here with and we fight it. We tried a bunch of options, tried to pull up Can too, tried 27 contact both to the automatic transmission and to the Tidy, etc. I suppose that we are talking about contact 27, which is not in Audi, if you take a motor for example AEB, then everything is simple there and thanks for the tips 13 at 45, 27 at 5.But on the APU engine, a completely different motor engine and there 13 goes to 74, and 27 to ?, (in ELSA, in general, laughter is written that 27 goes to J220. and that's it). Can anyone suggest recoding options? Or can anyone have a VW with an APU motor in the service, question one Where does 27 go.
