In detail: do-it-yourself baxi boiler repair from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.
An electric boiler is an effective solution to the problem of hot water supply for a private house. Such equipment, however, like any other, breaks down periodically.
If serious breakdowns have to be eliminated in a service center, then any more or less experienced craftsman can perform a small repair of the water heater with his own hands.
To minimize problems with the device, you should study its design and principles of operation. Usually, in private households, not flow-through, but storage models are used, which make it possible to use electricity more efficiently. Such a device consists of a heat exchanger tank, inside which a heating element is installed - a heating element, connected to the power supply.
An important part of the device is the thermostat. This element allows you to maintain a constant water temperature inside the storage tank. The water is piped to the heat exchanger. If its temperature is too low (and this is usually the case), then the thermostat gives a signal and turns on the heating element.
The water is heated until it reaches the required temperature. After that, the thermostat works again and turns off the heating element. Hot water is taken from the tank and replaced with cold water, the heating process is repeated over and over. This is a general diagram of the device and operation of a conventional storage water heater.
Flow models are arranged somewhat differently. They do not heat a static volume of water, but a stream. They use more powerful heating elements that start working when the water is turned on and stop when it is turned off. To study in more detail the operation and structure of a particular model, you need to carefully familiarize yourself with the accompanying technical documentation.

The heater tank is a sturdy stainless steel container, one or two millimeters thick. No matter how resistant this material is to corrosion, nevertheless, these processes periodically arise and develop, which leads to the flow of water from the device. One of the most common causes of such breakdowns is electrical corrosion.
To prevent it, you need to regularly, i.e. Replace the internally mounted magnesium anode annually. This element is specifically designed to prevent electrical corrosion. Over time, it wears out, and the owners of storage tanks lose sight of replacing this important part.
As a result, the tank, which has served well for some time, suddenly starts to leak. The incorrect state of the magnesium anode can also affect the state of the heating element. The outside of the storage tank is usually enclosed in a metal or plastic housing, and it also has a heat-insulating shell that prevents heat loss.
Damage to the outer shell and insulation is rare, usually due to careless handling of the device. Cracks and chips on the body of the water heater may not disrupt its operation, but this will lead to a deterioration in the properties of the heat insulator, and will negatively affect the functioning of the device as a whole.
Cold water inlet and outlet pipes - for hot water usually do not cause any problems if the installation of the heater is done correctly. Usually, a water heater is equipped with two thermostats, one of which is designed to control the water temperature, and the second monitors the state of the first device.
Sometimes a third thermostat is also used, which determines the good condition of the heating element. In any case, the broken thermostat will have to be completely replaced. There are capillary, rod and electronic types of thermostats.Their design is different, but the principle of their work is the same.
The insulating gasket not only serves to seal the connection between the elements of the water heater, it is also necessary as an electrical insulator. It is recommended to replace this element regularly at every maintenance of the water heater.
The thermostat shows exactly what temperature the water inside the device is heated to. If this element breaks down, the water heater will still perform its functions, although data on the degree of heating will not be received.
Breakdown of heating elements is a typical problem for both flowing and storage water heaters. This element works under high stress and therefore wears out quickly. If the power supply is connected, but the water in the tank does not heat up, most likely the problem has arisen with the heating element.
First, you should check if electricity is supplied to the heating element and the thermostat. In the places where the cable is connected, the presence of voltage is checked with a tester. If there is no voltage, you may need to replace the cable itself or check for a power outage throughout the house.
If there is electricity and the cable is working properly, then problems have arisen with the heating element, which will have to be replaced, or with the thermostat. To figure out what exactly broke, you need to remove the thermostat and check it with a tester. Testing the health of the heating element is carried out as follows. First, the measuring scale of the device is set to the interval of 220-250 V. Then the resistance is measured at the terminals connecting the heating element to the mains.
If there is voltage, disconnect the heating element from the network and check the potential at the terminals of the heating element. Lack of response from the tester will indicate that the device is defective. If there is a reaction, you need to continue the diagnosis. First, disconnect the water heater from the power supply. Then the heating element is disconnected from the thermostat so that the contacts of the heating element remain not isolated.
Tester contacts are applied to them and the reaction is monitored. If it is, the heating element is working, if not, it needs to be replaced. In this case, it does not matter what kind of numbers the tester produces, only the presence or absence of a reaction is important. These troubleshooting methods are suitable for both storage electric water heaters and flow-through models.
To check the serviceability of the thermostat removed from the water heater, you need to set the adjustment knob to maximum and measure at the inlet and outlet of the device. If the needle of the tester remains calm, i.e. its position does not change, which means that the thermostat is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the arrow deviates, then you need to continue testing. Now you should set the minimum position on the thermostat and attach the test leads of the tester to the contacts. It will not be easy to continue the diagnosis alone, the probes will have to be fixed or asked someone to hold them in the correct position for a while.
After that, you need to take a lighter and heat the tip of the temperature sensor. If the thermal relay is triggered, the circuit will open, and the resistance on the tester's scale will sharply go down, then the thermal relay can also be considered serviceable. If the system does not respond to heating, then this element is damaged and needs to be completely replaced.
Occasionally, the water heater can stop working due to a blown thermal fuse as a result of dangerous overheating of the device. It is enough to correctly adjust the operation of the device for it to start working as usual.
If the check showed that both the heating element and the thermostat are in good order, most likely problems have arisen with the control board. It is almost impossible to repair such an element at home. It will have to be replaced with a new one, and you will have to use the help of a specialist who will help you set up the electronic equipment.Most often, you just need to contact the service center, where the required element will be selected and installed correctly.
A tank leak is a serious problem that cannot always be corrected on your own. In some models, either the tank or the entire heater will need to be replaced. Sometimes the leak can be sealed, but care must be taken to restore the integrity of the outer casing and the thermal insulation layer. Usually such measures are insufficient and short-lived, and soon the leak will reoccur.
The water heater tank most often leaks if:
damage to the internal tank has occurred;
the heating element has deteriorated;
leaky gasket.
If water flows at the place where the heating element is attached, it may not be necessary to repair the tank itself. A special gasket is installed in this place, the leak can be caused by its damage. The gasket is replaced and thus the problem is solved.
A water heater tank leak usually occurs due to neglect or untimely maintenance, which also includes the replacement of the magnesium anode. Another common problem is lack of grounding. This can also lead to the development of corrosive processes and the occurrence of leaks.
If you need to replace the gasket or heating element, it is best to first dismantle the faulty element in order to take it with you and find an exact analogue. Obtaining parts by eye can result in unnecessary costs. This replacement is relatively straightforward. But if problems arise with the tank, you will at least have to contact the service center. Immediately it is necessary to find documents for the water heater and clarify the warranty periods and service conditions.
Regardless of the nature of the breakdown, before starting repair work, you first need to turn off the power supply, remove the protective cover, disconnect the wires, pipes and drain the water. Wall-mounted models are usually removed from the brackets. The protective cover that hides the place for connecting the electrical wires and the fastening of the heating elements may have a different position depending on the model.
On horizontal type devices, such an element is usually located on the left, on vertical heaters - at the bottom, and on small models - in front. On some devices, you first need to unscrew the main mounting bolt located in the center. Sometimes this element is hidden under a decorative sticker.
After that, you need to carefully remove the thermostat, and then remove the tubes of the temperature sensor. They must be handled with great care. If the integrity of the thermosensor tube is broken, liquid filler will leak out. As a result, the water heater will simply have to be thrown away and a new device bought.
If there are stickers on the body with the serial number indicated, they must be kept, even if it interferes with the maintenance and repair of the product. This can affect the manufacturer's fulfillment of the warranty obligations, as well as facilitate the work of the service center employees.
The fact that there are problems in the operation of the device may indicate some changes in the mode of its operation. For instance:
increasing the time for heating water to a predetermined temperature;
the appearance of unusual sounds accompanying the operation of the device;
the appearance of impurities in tap water, a change in its color, smell or taste.
If at least one of these signs is observed, the water heater should be cleaned immediately. To do this, you will have to perform the following operations:
Disconnect the device from the power supply.
Remove the protective cover.
Disconnect the contacts of the electric wires.
Shut off cold water supply.
Remove residual water from the tank using a hose.
Unscrew the screws that hold the heating element.
Remove the heating element and descale it.
Clean the inside of the drive from dirt and scale particles.
Rinse the device thoroughly.
Check the health of the magnesium anode.
If necessary, replace this element immediately.
Wait until the cleaned tank is completely dry.
Install the heating element in place.
Reassemble the device.
Check the tightness of all fasteners.
Connect the water heater to the power supply.
Check for grounding.
The heating element should be removed from the tank carefully, the bolts may be too stubborn, sometimes the heating element is difficult to remove due to too much scale layer. The heating element is cleaned by mechanical or chemical means, as is the removal of contaminants from the tank. If a large amount of scale is found inside the device, you should consider revising the operating mode of the water heater.
This phenomenon is often observed when the device has been operating at maximum power for a long time. It is recommended to set the maximum heating temperature not higher than 60 degrees in order to increase the life of the device and reduce the number of breakdowns. If the body of the heating device shocks, it is possible that the heating element is deformed and ruptured, or there is a breakdown in the control system.

It is not so difficult to repair a water heater when it comes to replacing some of its elements. In the event of a serious breakdown, it would be wiser to contact a specialized service center. Correct use of the device and its timely maintenance will save you many problems and costs.
Today I want to talk about how to disassemble and clean the BAXI boiler. Storage water heaters of this respected Italian brand have been very popular for a long time. High reliability, simplicity of execution, low price - these are the distinctive features of the BAXI boiler.
All water heaters of this brand have tanks covered with two layers of high-strength titanium enamel. To protect them, protective magnesium anodes are installed, which must be changed periodically. The frequency of replacement depends on the quality of the water, the heating temperature and the intensity of use of the boiler.
First of all, we buy a protective anode. This boiler, BAXI 50 liters, fits any magnesium anode with a short thread D 8 mm.
Preparing the instrument. You need a hose to drain the water, a wrench to disconnect the water supply, a 13 wrench and a screwdriver.
We drain the water. To do this, we shut off the cold water supply, put a hose on the valve and lower it into a bucket, into a toilet bowl or into a sink. We open any mixer and drain off the remaining hot water. Then we unscrew the hot water pipe of the boiler. Our task is to ensure the flow of air into the tank. We open the valve. We are waiting for about 30 minutes. To speed up the draining process, some manufacturers recommend installing a tee with a tap between the boiler and the valve.
While the water is draining, remove the lid. The wires, of course, are connected a little incorrectly. Any electrician knows that yellow is ground.
We disconnect all the wires, after making sure once again that the supply wire is de-energized.
If all the water has drained out, unscrew half of the nuts securing the flange.
ATTENTION. In the boiler, a couple of liters of water remain at the bottom, so it is better to do further work together. Carefully unscrew the remaining nuts, while substituting some container, and take out the flange with the heating element.
The water heater has been in operation for three years.
We clean the heating element and unscrew the remains of the anode.
Carefully and carefully clean and rinse the sealing gum, install the protective magnesium anode and start assembling the boiler.
Insert the flange and squeeze it diagonally with nuts. We connect the wires in accordance with the color coding.
We check the plug, Connected, just like in the boiler.
We change the wires: brown - phase, blue - zero, yellow - ground. Someone will ask, why throw the wires, after all, it worked like that. This is at the level of instinct.The hand does not rise to connect the earth wire to the working terminal. Replace the cover, connect the hot water, close the valve and open the supply tap. We bleed the air through any mixer, check the tightness of all connections and plug it into the network.
With joy and great relief, the boiler, cheerfully illuminating the signal lamp, began its arduous and monotonous work. Well, my friend, good luck. See you in a year or a year and a half.
P.S. What if you need advice or consultation?
... Subscribe to the pages of Electro-Plumbing, there is a lot of other interesting information that did not get on the site.
All the best! Good luck! Vladimir.
Baxi is a line of gas boilers from an Italian manufacturer. The best option for keeping the room at a comfortable temperature. Gas boilers of this company are safe, environmentally friendly, durable, practically silent, durable and economical, have high performance and are quite easy to operate, in addition, they have an affordable price. Even if a decrease in gas pressure is noted in the network, the boiler will not stop working. Baksi boilers run on liquefied natural gas. The modern design allows you to organically arrange the boiler in the interior of any room.
In order to choose the correct spare parts for the boiler after an identified breakdown, you need to know its series and model. The most common: Baxi Luna (Comfort, Comfort Combi, Silver Space), ECO, Nuvola (come with a stainless steel boiler), Slim, Main.
The volume of boilers ranges from super compact to 80 liters. They can be floor-mounted or wall-mounted. Structurally, boilers are divided into: single-circuit and double-circuit.
The combustion chamber of baxi boilers is made of metal. The outside is covered with a layer of thermal insulation. A copper heat exchanger is located above the combustion chamber, and the burner is located under the combustion chamber.
When the room temperature changes, the thermostat is automatically started, transmitting a signal to turn on the pump, which creates a vacuum in the return pipe. In this case, the heated water begins to flow into the supply line of the heating system under a pressure of no more than 0.45 bar (in the event of an increase in pressure, the microprocessor sends a signal to the relay, the contacts close, and the burner ignites). Boiler operation starts at low power, which gradually increases until the temperature of the heating medium reaches the set temperature. After that, the heating mode is changed to modulation mode. As soon as the temperature of the coolant deviates from the set value towards a decrease, a signal is received from the temperature sensor, the inlet fuel valve opens, the burner ignites again and heats up the water.
In the event that at the beginning of operation the boiler output is too high, the burner automatically switches off and the system can be restarted only after three minutes.
When there is no need for heating, the boiler is switched on to DHW mode. In this case, cold water through a three-way valve that closes the heating line enters the secondary circuit. From the gas valve, fuel flows into the burner, gradually increasing the power. When the water heats up, the temperature control mode is activated.
Repair work in baxi boilers should be done with your own hands only if there are visible and easily removable reasons for the breakdown. In the absence of experience in handling the units or in the absence of special tools, it is better to entrust the boiler repair to a competent foreman.
- the boiler burner does not turn on or goes out;
- ignition becomes impossible;
- pops are heard in the combustion chamber;
- the boiler is overheating;
- the maximum heating temperature of the coolant becomes insufficient;
- boiler operation becomes noisy;
- one of the sensors or system elements fails.
Reasons for the breakdown of baxi boilers:
- moisture has entered the boiler;
- water (heat carrier) of poor quality;
- there was a drop or drop in gas pressure in the gas pipeline;
- there was a voltage drop in the mains;
- the heating system has been installed incorrectly.
It is possible that during installation, the phase and zero are connected incorrectly or air has accumulated in the system.
The cause of the malfunction may be an incorrect setting of the pressure in the heating system, a malfunction of the gas valve modulator or a breakdown of the diode bridge.
Remedy: adjust the system parameters using the boiler operating instructions.
The reason is the low gas pressure in the gas pipeline.
Remedy: reduce the value of the incoming gas pressure to five mbar (standard - twenty-five mbar).
Remedy: check the pressure value on the gas valve, most likely the min and max values have failed.
It is obligatory to change the board, as well as the valve.
Replacing the sensor with a new one will help fix the problem.
The reason for this is the incomplete opening of the three-way valve or its breakage. To confirm a valve malfunction, allow the system to cool down, close the shut-off valves of the heating system, then turn on the boiler in hot water supply mode. If the valve is faulty, then simultaneously with DHW heating will occur in the heating system.
Such noise appears due to: insufficient combustion of the gas (it is necessary to adjust the minimum pressure); changing the distance from the gas supply to the igniter during careless transportation of the baxi boiler (you should adjust the size of the gap by setting it to 4-5 mm); excessive draft (using the damper to reduce the draft in the boiler).
Open the front panel and remove it completely from the boiler. Remove the flap from the inspection hole. Behind it is the igniter. To change the size of the gap, it is necessary to unscrew the screw on which the ignition electrode is attached, then remove and carefully bend the electrode. Then we put it in place and close the hole flap.
The reasons for this are: clogging of filters (cleaning or replacement is required); damage to pipes, radiators, their clogging or freezing (the malfunction must be identified and replaced or cleaned the defective section of the pipeline).
We drain the water by unscrewing the tap on the boiler on the right. If possible, drain the water from the heating system. For cleaning we use a device called Jelly. We connect the pipes of the device to the heating pipes of the baxi. We unscrew the lid on the device, fill in the cleaning liquid. We include Jelly in the power grid. Within a couple of hours, use the knob on the device to switch the direction of the flushing liquid "forward - backward". After two hours, turn off the device, turn off the tap to drain the water from the boiler. We remove the hoses, making sure that the flushing fluid is glass back into the device. We connect the boiler to the system, fill it with a coolant. Cleaning the boiler will remove scale from its parts and prevent clogging and breakdowns.
We use the flushing device again. We connect it to the boiler, turn it on. Close the gas tap and open the hot water tap. And after that we turn off the device for cleaning. Thus, the liquid will be driven along the short circuit of the system.
Before installing the boiler, its operation and repair, be sure to consult with a specialist. Despite all the positive qualities of baxi boilers, they, like all equipment, have their own margin of safety and service life. In this article, we examined the main types of breakdowns, and also saw how to repair baxi boilers with our own hands. We wish you and your boilers success.
Poor water quality is considered to be the main cause of boiler breakdown. Because of this, scale forms on the surface of the heating element, the inner walls of the tank are susceptible to corrosion, which in the future entails more serious consequences and expensive repairs in the service center. In addition, the water heater may stop working due to improper connection to the power supply and the hot / cold water circuits.
As for the latter, when connecting the boiler, it is imperative to install a safety valve between the branch pipe coming out of the tank and the cold water supply pipe, which will protect the tank from rupture during a water hammer. You should also make the connection according to the instructions and, no less important, do not confuse where-what is connected. Sometimes situations arise that, if installed incorrectly, the water heater does not collect water. Please note that you should not panic in this case. It is better to take another look at how to properly connect the equipment to the pipes and, most likely, you will understand why your water is not collected.
So that you understand how to repair a storage water heater in different conditions, then we will separately consider how to repair all possible breakdowns with our own hands.
If the boiler does not heat the water to the required temperature, but still makes noise when turned on, it means that scale has formed on the heating element, which you need to clean yourself. This is not difficult to do, you just need to disconnect the equipment from the network, drain the water from the tank and disassemble the case to remove the heating element. You will not have any difficulties with disconnecting the plug from the outlet, but draining the water can make the repair a little more difficult. Immediately we recommend watching a video lesson, which shows a simple method for solving this problem:
After you empty the tank, you will need to disassemble the boiler yourself. To do this, carefully disconnect all fastons connected to the thermostat and unscrew the bolts, which are usually 6 pieces.
During the removal of the heating element, a little more water will pour out, which remains in the tank. It is recommended to clean the heating element itself immediately, before it is wet and the scale deposits have not hardened. We recommend using special cleaning agents that can be sprayed onto the heater. After a while, the deposits are effortlessly scraped off with a wooden spatula or even a blunt knife. Also, for repairs, you can boil the heating element in a bucket with the addition of special acid to the water, which will effectively solve the problem. To get rid of limescale for sure, we advise you to use fine-grained emery paper ("sandpaper") to clean the tubes to a metallic color.
Simultaneously with the repair of the boiler, which heats the water for a long time or weakly, it is recommended to replace the magnesium anode, which protects the tank from corrosion. To do this, dismantle the worn out rod and purchase exactly the same one in order to replace it yourself!
After that, you need to assemble the boiler in the reverse order and check whether it was possible to repair the weak heating of the water. Do not forget that first of all you must fill the tank completely with water, then connect the plug to the mains and start.
We draw your attention to the fact that there is a situation when the boiler does not heat the water, because the heater is broken. In this case, self-repair is that you need to ring it with a multimeter, setting the resistance measurement mode. We will tell you about this below!
If the light on the boiler is on and the water does not heat up, then it is likely that the heater, which we talked about above, is not working. It is quite simple to check it at home, you need to install the tester probes on the contacts of the heating element and see the resistance on the display. With a working heater, the resistance can vary between 0.4-0.7, as shown in the photo below. If you see "1" on the display, then there is a breakage and you need to replace the part with a new one, because it is almost impossible to repair it.
By the way, if the boiler beats with current or when it is turned on, the RCD is turned off by itself, then the cause of the breakdown, again, is in the heater from which the leak occurs. You can check the malfunction by connecting one probe to the contact of the heating element, and the second to the tube itself. You will see “1” on the display, the part is in good order and there is no need for repairs, a minus value or too large - replacement is required.In more detail about how to check the heating element with a multimeter, we talked in a separate article.
Another reason why the boiler does not heat the water or, on the contrary, heats up very much, is the failure of the thermostat. You can check it in two ways - with a tester or a lighter. Everything is clear with the tester, you need to act according to a similar method, but as for the lighter, everything is more interesting here. First, dismantle the thermostat and press the button on it (it is circled in the photo below). After that, the copper contact of the thermostat must be heated. If after some time the button returns to its original position (knocks it out), the thermostat is operational. If the thermostat does not work, you can repair the boiler that does not turn off or does not turn on by replacing this part with a new one. I would also like to note that there is no need to drain the water to replace the thermostat on the water heater. It is enough just to disconnect the equipment from the network and disconnect all the supplied wires.
Also, sometimes there is a breakdown - the temperature is not shown on the display of the water heater or the display does not work at all. In this case, check all the elements of the circuit and if you do not find an open circuit, most likely the control unit has broken. You will not be able to repair electronics with your own hands in the absence of experience and knowledge, so you will have to take the electric water heater to a service center for repair.
If you notice that water is dripping from the boiler, it is not always possible to repair it yourself. It is good if the cause of the leak is the wear of the seal on the flange. In this case, the gasket must be replaced with the same size, which will allow the breakage to be repaired. The situation is much worse if the water heater leaks due to the wear of the tank itself. Some advise to glue or solder the holes, but, as practice shows, after a short period of time you will still have to say goodbye to the boiler, because such leak repair methods are extremely short-lived.
That's all I wanted to tell you about DIY boiler repair. We hope that now you know what to do if an electric water heater is leaking, does not heat the water well or does not work at all. These devices do not have many problems and you can get rid of them by timely maintenance of the system. At least once a year, check the non-return valve and clean the heating element so that malfunctions bypass you!
It will be interesting to read:
Baksi is the name given to a line of gas boilers from an Italian company. If you are faced with the task of providing a comfortable microclimate in the room, then Baksi boilers are the best solution. The installations of this manufacturer have many advantages. Most importantly, Baxi boilers are economical. In addition, they can be operated for a long time and not emit noise during operation. These units show good performance during use and are easy to use. The reasonable price for this equipment makes it affordable for most consumers.
For the manufacture of the Baksi combustion chamber, the manufacturer uses metal. Outside, it is covered with a layer of heat insulator. Above it is a heat exchanger made of copper. When the room temperature changes, the thermostat starts. Note that the launch is carried out in automatic mode. From it, the turn-on signal is transmitted to the pump. The latter creates a vacuum in the return pipeline. After that, heated water begins to flow into the heating system line at a pressure not exceeding 0.45 bar.
Boiler operation starts at low power. It gradually increases until the temperature of the coolant rises to the specified value. After that, the mode changes - from heating to modulation mode... When the temperature of the coolant decreases, a signal is received from the temperature sensor, which leads to the opening of the inlet valve.After this, ignition occurs, and then the water is heated up again.
If already at the beginning of the boiler's operation its power is quite high, then the burner is turned off in automatic mode. After three minutes, the system can be restarted.
If there is no need for heating the room, then the boiler is turned on in the DHW mode. In this case, cold water flows into the secondary circuit through a three-way valve, through which the heating line is shut off. PThe fuel is supplied to the burner by means of a gas valve, which leads to a gradual increase in the boiler output. After the end of water heating, the temperature control mode is activated.
If the Baksi boiler stopped working normally, then you can carry out repairs on your own, without asking for help from specialists. But troubleshooting is possible only if the breakdown is small and easily removable. If you have never encountered the repair of boilers, then in this case you should not risk it - contact the master immediately.
the boiler burner does not turn on or goes out;
it is impossible to light the boiler;
when the boiler is operating, pops are heard in the combustion chamber;
there is a lot of noise during the operation of the equipment;
one of the system sensors fails.
Reasons for the breakdown of Baksi boilers:
moisture has entered the boiler;
the quality of the heat carrier used is low;
the gas pressure has dropped in the gas pipeline or a drop has occurred;
there was a voltage drop in the power grid;
the installation of the heating system was carried out with errors.
The burner flame does not reach its maximum power during boiler operation
This malfunction of the gas boiler may occur due to an incorrect setting of the pressure in the heating system. Also, such a breakdown may appear with a faulty gas valve modulator. Another reason for its occurrence is the breakdown of the diode bridge.
Remedy: it is necessary to adjust the system parameters using the boiler operating instructions.
The boiler starts up but stops working immediately
This malfunction of the gas boiler can occur due to low pressure in the gas pipeline.
Remedy: it is necessary to adjust the gas pressure down to 5 mbar.
Weak heating of the coolant in the heating system
Remedy: Perform a pressure test on the gas valve. Chances are high that min and max have failed.
Modulation mode does not work
To correct the problem, a valve change should be performed.
Temperature sensor values become inaccurate
To eliminate this problem, replace the old sensor with a new one.
Weak heating in the hot water system
The cause of this malfunction may be an incomplete opening of the three-way valve. In some cases, its appearance is associated with a breakdown of such a valve. To establish exactly what the cause of the malfunction lies precisely in the valve, it is necessary to wait a while until the system cools down. Then the shut-off valves of the heating system will need to be closed. When this is done, the boiler should be turned on in hot water supply mode. Valve failure will be confirmed by heating in the heating system.
When the installation is fired up, "pops" are heard
Noise can appear for several reasons:
Insufficient gas pressure;
Changed distance from the gas supply to the igniter due to inaccurate transportation of the Baksi boiler.
To eliminate this problem, you need to adjust the size of the gap. It should be set within 4–5 mm.
How to adjust the gap between the burner and the pilot
To make the correct adjustment on the Baksi gas boiler, you must open the front panel and completely remove it from the boiler. After that, it is necessary to remove the damper from the inspection hole of the installation. Behind it you can find an igniter.To change the size of the gap, unscrew the screw by means of which the igniter electrode is attached to the boiler. Then it is removed, and then it is carefully folded over. Then you need to install it in its original place, and then close the damper.
The coolant temperature in the circuit has dropped sharply
The main cause of this problem is clogged filters. They must be removed and cleaned. In some cases, they may need to be replaced. Damage to radiators or pipes may also be the cause. If these heating systems are frozen or clogged, then repair is necessary. The area where the defect was found should be cleaned or replaced.
How to clean the primary heat exchanger with your own hands
The first step is to drain the water from the installation. To do this, unscrew the tap on the boiler on the right. If possible, the water should be drained from the heating system. For the cleaning procedure, you should use a device called Jelly. The pipes of the device should be connected to the heating pipes of the Baksi boiler.... Then you need to unscrew the lid on the device, and then pour in a special liquid intended for cleaning. Then the device is connected to the mains.
For several hours on the device, we switch the direction of the flushing liquid in manual mode. When two hours have passed, the device must be turned off. Next, unscrew the tap to drain the water. Then you need to remove the hoses. But before that you need to make sure that the liquid is glass back into the device... Next, we connect the boiler to the system. After that, it must be filled with a coolant. After cleaning the boiler, its parts must be descaled. And this will exclude clogging of the system and its failure.
DIY cleaning of the secondary heat exchanger (heating circuit)
In order to clean the secondary heat exchanger, we also use a flushing device. It must be connected to the boiler, and then turn on the installation. The gas cock must be turned to the closed position, and the hot water cock must be opened. After that, you must turn off the device for cleaning. Further, the liquid will circulate along a short circuit.
Before installing the boiler, you need to consult a specialist. You should also contact him in the case when the boiler needs repairs. Baksi gas equipment, like any other, has its own ultimate strength, therefore, at a certain moment, boiler repair will be required.
Error codes that may occur during the operation of Baksi gas boilers can be divided into two groups:
complete blocking of equipment operation;
switching the device to standby mode.
In case of complete blocking of the installation, it will be necessary to restart the boiler in manual mode. The blocking is activated in the event of serious malfunctions in the operation of the boiler, which can pose a serious danger to human health. Failures, in the event of which the boiler is blocked, can be attributed to overheating of the equipment, and besides it, the lack of traction. Blocking occurs even in the absence of gas supply. Self-elimination of the error is carried out in rare cases. If this happens, the device starts up in automatic mode.
This mistake is the most common one. When the flame sensor is triggered, this code is displayed. Several reasons can lead to its appearance:
no gas supply;
there is no correspondence between phase and zero; this reason is relevant for phase-dependent models;
no contact with the flame sensor;
the sensor is dirty or defective;
the ignition system malfunctions;
the gas valve is faulty or the electronic board is out of order;
air access is insufficient for normal combustion;
the gas pressure in the system is insufficient.
If this code is displayed on the display, then the first thing to do is to check if the sensor is connected correctly. It is also worth checking the gas supply.If everything is normal, then in this case you can press R. It should be held for 3 seconds.
If accidentally triggered, the equipment will continue to operate normally. If the error continues to appear, then in this case you should contact a specialist... Note that this error is due to an electronics problem. If you try to solve the problem on your own, then everything can end in disaster for the gas equipment.
Another common mistake is E10. The main reason for its occurrence is sensors that monitor the operation of pumps and monitor the circulation of water. This error can be displayed on the installation display in the following cases:
the pressure of the coolant has decreased in the system;
contact between the board and the pressure switch has disappeared;
the pressure switch is defective;
the pump operation sensor has become faulty;
there are malfunctions in the pump;
clogging of the heat exchanger.
When this error occurs, you do not need to try to fix it on your own. Self-repair is acceptableif pump replacement is required. It will not be difficult to hold this event. You can also clean the filters without assistance. All other work related to the repair of the Baksi boiler should be performed by an experienced specialist.
Urgent repair by a qualified specialist is required if errors E96, E97, E98 are displayed on the gas boiler display. If they occur, it is unacceptable to interfere with the operation of the boiler by the owner of the equipment. The prohibition on intervention with these errors is due to the fact that these three codes appear in the event that the electronic board has become faulty.

The resulting error codes help the owner of gas equipment to track any, even the smallest, malfunction in its operation. Repairing the Baksi boiler should be considered as something akin to treating an illness. It is much easier to get rid of it only with timely diagnostics.
