In detail: do-it-yourself Starline keychain repair from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.
Many car enthusiasts know that a breakdown of a key fob near an alarm is a fairly common case. As a rule, due to the ingress of moisture and its frequent use with an effort above the norm, it leads to breakage of buttons and plastic surfaces, as well as structures of printed circuit boards with radio components.
Often, such keychains are not repaired at all in the workshop, many craftsmen are so arrogant that they consider it a trifle and do not undertake such repairs, or, say, they may ask for 1000-1500 rubles for repairs - almost like a new car alarm.
But it is difficult to get a key fob for some car alarms, especially if it is not available in the city, and custom-made price tags start from 2,500 rubles and up to about 4,000-5,000 rubles at a standard price, and the new key fob will still be of little quality and not original, just sewn under the needs of this order.
Let's go back to our instance. In this keychain from StarLine, they ditched the button, completely crushing it to such an extent that all the insides were crumpled.
I took a new button from the DVR board (in the photo above), which I soldered out carefully using a special flux and solder, and there was also a difficulty in the fact that the output of button 4 is the attachment points, this is the plate itself, two points, and two outputs of the button, so that soldering with a soldering iron even with a thin tip is still a mission.
We put the button in place of the dismantled one, rinse with a degreaser. We also clean the jumper jumpers between the two boards, the main one and the transmitter - they often oxidize in moisture conditions, everything must be dried after cleaning, and then you can collect and turn on the alarm.

Checking such a key fob can be performed both visually - pressing a button is visible by the reaction on the display and by sound, and with the help of a simple HF detector that will catch the signal transmission from the key fob.
Using this technology, it is possible to restore the functionality of almost any remote control and buttons. The repair was carried out by redmoon.
The anti-theft system of the car, or rather the alarm, many have long learned to install on their own. Protection of the car from theft for the car enthusiast always comes first. This is a serious issue that needs to be approached comprehensively. Choosing an anti-theft device is the very step that follows immediately after buying a car. Sometimes we get used cars without alarms, cars with a long service life. But this does not mean at all that they cannot be secured. This can and should be done. The alarm, like any other device, has properties to wear out and sometimes it needs repair. Now almost all simple processes can be performed independently, for example, replacing the Starline alarm key fob will not cause you any problems. Yes, even the installation of such an alarm is quite capable.
Let's skip the process of choosing a suitable anti-theft agent, but recall the main points. Before buying, take several factors into account and determine which ones are most important to you:
Siren volume;
Additional control sensors;
Antenna range;
Feedback charms.
The main selection criterion is the storage location for your car. In the alarm set we are talking about today, Starline a 91, you will find:
Siren;
Control block;
Light-emitting diode;
Shock and engine temperature sensors;
Antenna;
Two key fobs;
Instructions;
A set of all kinds of wires.
A standard set of tools will come in handy in the work, in which it is necessary to include a multimeter, for the correct connection of the wires, and a probe with a lamp, to connect to the central lock, if any.
First of all, we fix the control unit. The recommended location is under the dashboard, but you can change it as you wish. The main thing is that the surface is flat, not striking, not exposed to external influences and strong vibration when moving. Next, we glue the transceiver (antenna) onto double-sided tape on the windshield, the place can be determined independently, most importantly, step back from the body parts by about five centimeters. The shock sensor is mounted on self-tapping screws in the car's interior, give it due attention, it must be fixed very tightly, self-tapping screws can be used.
The indicator light (a light that blinks when you arm the car) is also attached to the dashboard, the service button (Jack) can be located in any place convenient for you, but preferably out of sight. It is thanks to her that you can rewrite key fobs or reprogram the anti-theft functions. Install the siren and engine temperature controller under the hood. For the first device, we select a dry place away from moisture and heating parts, the horn is directed downward. The temperature sensor is mounted as close to the engine as possible to provide the most up-to-date information.
The connection of wires and all work with the electrician in general must be carried out in strict accordance with the connection diagram. Perhaps one is present in the instructions that are included in the alarm set. In any case, you can use the scheme below.
Important! When working with a car electrician, remove the negative terminal from the battery!
Do not forget about the correct connection to the central lock. In this case, everything depends on the way the central locking system is controlled. In most cases, it is controlled by a negative impulse, but it is better to check with the manufacturer or find this information in the instructions for the central locking. For negatively operated locks, the following scheme is suitable:
At the end of the work with the wires, we return the battery to its place and carry out a check. If connected correctly, the alarm will work automatically, so keep the keys with you or do not close the car doors. And now the last moment remains - working with key chains.
It may be necessary to register key fobs not only at the first connection, but also in case of its loss or breakdown. For the second option, you will initially have to find and buy a keychain that suits you. In most cases, if you have a universal popular alarm, the search will not be difficult. But, unfortunately, there are times when, due to the inability to find a suitable key fob, you have to change the entire alarm system as a whole.
To register additional or new key fobs, follow the instructions below:
Turn off the engine and press "Jack" seven times;
We turn the key in the ignition lock, but do not start the engine. The siren should emit seven signals, which will indicate that we are in the required programming mode;
We simultaneously hold down the first and second buttons of the key fob. The siren will sound once. We repeat the procedure with subsequent trinkets;
To exit the programming mode, turn the ignition key back, the dimensions will flash five times.
Important! Only four key fobs can be recorded! The interval between recordings should not exceed five seconds!
Now we can not only record new key fobs, but also repair old ones. What does not happen to them and, perhaps, a cracked display is the most common breakdown.
To replace the screen, do the following:
We disassemble the keychain by unscrewing the only bolt in the left corner;
Removing the broken screen;
We carefully protect the contacts with alcohol;
Now we apply a new one, with black stripes (contacts), just like the old one was lying, it is important to get in correctly, but only a good eye will help here;
And lastly, we carefully heat the display so that the glue can seize, but the contacts do not melt. You can use a lighter.
Voila, you are holding a keychain with an entire display.
