After replacing the turbine and repairing the injection pump, the following happened:

The vacuum pump (the one that took the used one) has broken down. When replacing it with a new one, the servicemen were surprised by the valves clogged to zero, the verdict - all the same ghouls from Renissance who did not replace the oil filter. Replaced, remembered them with a kind word.

The injection pump started to malfunction, I came to MadPistons, those guys who restored both the injection pump and the turbine, cleaned the engine the last time. Changed to another reconditioned one, it turns out that I was the firstborn to whom they repaired.

The high-pressure fuel pump broke down - the reason is not clear, apparently a small resource and how lucky, judging by the logic, this is a fuel pump, 95-98 Lukoil, Gazprom, sometimes Rosneft were always refueled. New 25-27 tr.

The fact that the fuel injection pump ends up knew, understood, but refused to believe, AS SO KARL, the fuel pump KARL. as he could. But no, I could, like ours without doping. )))

Further, the replacement of the piston rings. The problem with the butter oil was gone and began to slowly return after

40-50 mk, 300-500 grams per 1,000 km of run. During this period of time - replacement of candles (2 times), replacement of the ignition coil, oil change (8-9 TC), filters, etc. according to the regulations. Gasoline (95th) did not gobble up, power and throttle response flawlessly.
This is all a preamble, and now it is itself.
The hard one carried me to Tula, 80 km from Moscow, the engine zatroil, lit an error and refused to go. After a short diagnosis by phone, calling a tow truck and a trip to the service to a trusted friend (in general, he carried out work on replacing rings in the CPG), RUB 6,500 like from a bush. What we managed to find out so far:
1.Fused piston in the 2nd cylinder with a seizure of the cylinder itself
2.dead nozzle
The preliminary price tag for overhaul of the engine was announced - 131,000 rubles (further, I think the price tag will still grow when the engine is removed and disassembled completely).
What is included in this money - remove / install the engine, disassemble / assemble the engine, crimp the block, replace the burned-out piston, replace the CPG rings (all), revise and clean the head, replace the timing belt.

The timing chain drive serves a little longer than the belt drive, but still it, being a consumable, needs to be replaced. On the Peugeot 3008, this operation can be carried out with your own hands, without asking for the help of specialists. This manual will tell you in detail how this can be done.

The timing chain drive has the same purpose as the belt drive; it must synchronize the actions of the crankshaft and camshaft. Thanks to the chain, pistons and valves do not meet each other while driving. If we assume that the chain breaks, then their meeting will be inevitable. They will hit each other, which will definitely lead to their deformation. But the chain has one significant advantage - it cannot break. The chain only deforms, which means that there is no need to make major engine repairs due to its breakage.

But the chain is not eternal, and over time it stretches, which is due to wear of the hinges. Because of this, the distance between the links becomes larger. But in what cases the chain should be subject to immediate replacement:

  • it is no longer possible to adjust its tension;
  • some of the labels have ceased to match;
  • cracks, chips or other mechanical damage appeared.

When the drive is extended, the motor will no longer run smoothly. The stretching of the links is uneven, so the chain will seem to "dance", in different places stretching tighter or weaker.

And here is how the chain drive slack will be expressed:

  • a loud noise will be heard when the engine is running;
  • the car will not start well;
  • fuel consumption will increase slightly.

In addition, the chain can simply fly off the sprockets, and this is already the same as a break. In this case, the consequences will be the same - the impact of the valves on the pistons and their deformation. Therefore, be sure to check the chain tension from time to time. And if it is not possible to pull it normally, then it must be changed. And the sooner you can do it, the better. The chain tension can be checked using a special template. It is installed in place of the tensioner and the gap is measured. You can see this template in the photo below:

For convenience, such repairs are best performed on an overpass. If this is not possible, we will use a jack. And here's what we need in this case:

  • a set of cranks;
  • a device for fixing the flywheel and camshafts;
  • heads;
  • keys;
  • torex;
  • screwdrivers with different tips;
  • new drive;
  • new tensioner;
  • pacifier (3 pcs);
  • new bolts for attaching the camshafts;
  • new gears for shafts;
  • gasket in place to install the casing.

Be sure to only use quality materials. If you buy a chain in the market, it may well be stretched. You can check it like this: hold the product flat and look at its sagging. It should not exceed 10 mm. To check the quality of the metal, you can lightly stroke it with a file.

1. So, we put the car on the overpass, if possible, open the hood and de-energize the car by disconnecting the left battery terminal.

2. Now you can remove the right front wheel, as well as the wheel arch liner and engine protection.
3. Dismantle the air filter and branch pipe.
4. Remove the cover from the engine.
5. Now you need to disconnect all wires and camshaft sensors from the engine.
6. De-energize the ignition coils and remove them.
7. We remove the ventilation hose, all the existing branch pipes - too. Make sure that all openings are closed with plugs, otherwise dirt will get into them.
8. Remove the cover from the cylinder head.

9. Lift the engine and remove the dipstick, which measures the oil level in the system.
10. Remove the motor support.
11. Now remove the accessory drive strap.
12. Dismantle the pulley of additional units.To do this, you will have to unscrew a few bolts.
13. Scroll the crankshaft to the flywheel locking position. Scroll follows the crankshaft retaining bolt.
14. Now fix the flywheel and all shafts. This is done using a special device.
15. Dismounts the chain tensioner.
16. Now you need to dismantle all the pulleys.
17. Turn off the crankshaft hub.
18. Now we come to the moment of direct removal of the chain itself. We remove it.
19. Remove the tensioners and their guides.
20. Remove the crankshaft sprocket with the seal ring.
21. Now we have completely disassembled the mechanism. Before installing new components, you need to properly clean the seats from dirt.
22. We assemble the guides, chain, drive sprocket and install all this on the cylinder head.

23. We expose labels in all necessary places.
24. Install the drive gear pulley on the crankshaft.
25. Mount the hub.
26. We put in place all the other pulleys.
27. Install the tensioner.
28. Install the seal ring.
29. Now you can put the last pulley - attachments.
30. Get rid of the retainers on the shafts.
31. We put the belts of the additional units and stretch them. They should be tightened correctly - without constriction and sagging.
32. Put the oil dipstick in its place.
33. We mount the ignition coil and connect it.
34. We connect the sensors.
35. We put a decorative cover.
36. We install pipes, filters and motor protection.
37. Install the removed wheel.
38. Last but not least, we connect the disconnected terminal from the storage battery.

That's all. Now we check the operation of the motor. If extraneous noises are not audible, then everything is in order. Otherwise, you will have to look under the hood and, if necessary, repeat the chain installation procedure.

The French have overslept the topic of all-wheel drive forever. For them, a car with a 4 × 4 wheel arrangement was incomprehensible before and has remained so to this day.

The intellect of fragile Europe, and France in particular, cannot comprehend the meaning of all-wheel drive. They do not understand and will hardly ever understand why it is necessary to drive a car rowing with all four on asphalt or flat dirt road. After all, this is an overpayment first when buying a car, then when servicing, operating and repairing it. Not rational! Expensive!

But when the traditional idea of ​​an all-wheel drive car changed and it became clear that not only a frame SUV or an executive sedan, but also a practical, slightly raised above the road (i.e. with increased ground clearance) car with light controllability, all those who have in their arsenal there was no all-wheel drive realized their mistake. Especially after a social order appeared for such machines, which accordingly increased demand and attention.

The French brand Peugeot, along with the PSA-related Citroen, did not have all-wheel drive either. But the wave of increased interest in light SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) crossovers made the French think ... The choice fell on Mitsubishi - they know a lot about real off-road, cross-country ability and competent all-wheel drive transmission. However, it was impossible to destroy Europe with severe off-road vehicles of the Pajero, Pajero Sport, L200 format. And PSA understood this. As a result, the French took the mediocre Outlander XL as a basis, and then the frankly unsuccessful ASX, making them their Peugeot 4007 and Citroen C-Crosser, as well as the Peugeot 4008 and Citroen C4 Aircross, respectively.

Stop! But a tangible part of Europe wants a crossover and does not always dream of all-wheel drive. They just want a versatile car with a slightly taller roof and a little more ground clearance. Four-wheel drive is not at all a mandatory attribute in the list of their desires. The French are quite capable of making such a car on their own, especially since in their hearts they know that the SUVs of their partners are not masterpieces. It was then that the recipe matured.Take a mid-size passenger car from the existing model range, and make a mono-drive SUV on its basis.

The Peugeot 3008 crossover was created on the platform of the 308 hatchback - it has the same power structure of the body, the same motors and, apart from the hybrid version, only front-wheel drive, like the hatchback. The cars of the first years frightened by the insignificance of the run, passed before the forced repair. Moreover, with each new model of the concern, this engine becomes deeper and deeper a part of PSA's history. Surprisingly, the 3008, despite its front-wheel drive essence, is actually a crossover and not just a passenger car! Even the mono-drive chassis of the 3008, subject to an intelligent driver and the presence of the Grip Control system, which independently controls the electronics, depending on the selected mode ("standard", "snow", "mud", "sand"), the car can climb along a slippery country road with variable relief.

The starting price for the Peugeot 3008 in Russia is 799,000 rubles. It is a naturally aspirated car with 120 hp 1.6 petrol and a five-speed manual transmission as standard Access. Interestingly, even for the basic version, a 1.6 diesel engine (112 hp) is also available. The cheapest 3008 with such an engine costs 939,000 rubles.The next in the hierarchy version of Active is estimated at a minimum of 834,000 rubles. These are the prices for cars in fixed configurations, without metallic paint and all kinds of options.

The crossover camp is extremely large! And 3008 has a lot of rivals. But Peugeot can only be fully compared with front-wheel drive versions of competitors. Although there are also a lot of them.

1. Skoda Yeti 1.2 TSI (2WD). Skoda Yeti is the first crossover of the Czech brand. Volkswagen Tiguan was taken as a basis for "Yeti". In Russia, the Yeti is available in both mono and all-wheel drive versions. For the crossover, several 1.2 petrol engines (105 hp) have been proposed; 1.4 (122 hp) and 1.8 (152 hp - only with four-wheel drive).

2. VW Tiguan. The compact crossover Volkswagen Tiguan of the first generation debuted at the end of 2007. And in 2011, the production model underwent restyling, during which the car changed its face. This happened because when replacing the ball in a non-core service, it was screwed in "by hand" and not "locked". The drive was also thrown out of the box. On the way, the car's wheel broke.
