First, prepare a screwdriver and a "10" head, then:

Disconnect the supply wires from the turn signals and the headlight unit.

We press the locks of the hydrocorrector and, turning it counterclockwise, completely remove the cylinder.

We remove the block itself, for which we unscrew a pair of nuts on each side with the head on "10". The headlamp unit is dismantled at the same time as the turn signal housing.
At the last stage, the turn signal housing is disconnected from the block by unscrewing the two mounting bolts with a screwdriver.

Unscrew the four bolts securing the radiator grill;
We unscrew the frame and three internal fastening bolts.

We remove the old sealant with a screwdriver and emery paper and apply a layer of a new one by degreasing the glued surfaces. Then let it dry for at least four hours (complete drying of the sealant occurs after 24 hours).

We grind the headlights, removing all visible chips and scratches;
We use finishing pastes for polishing.

True, it is necessary to take into account several nuances:

The degree of surface damage used depends on the grain size of the abrasive material. For example, we start with P600 and smoothly progress to P4000 grit;

Attention! The sandpaper and grinding wheel should not be "afraid" of water.

Abrasive pastes are also selected according to the amount of abrasive powder in them;
The sander is not pressed hard against the surface of the headlight and should be set to low speed.

Attention! Do not overheat the surface of the headlight, watch the temperature!

Prepare an abrasive material on a foam backing on a woven backing with a grain size of 600/1000/2000/4000, as well as polish and paper tape;
We clean the headlamp, glue the adjacent surfaces with tape, if possible, remove the adjacent elements;

Starting with a 600 grit and wetting the wheels, proceed to the initial rough polishing. We process until a uniform matte surface appears;

Each polishing step should take you no more than three minutes of working time. In the last stage, the headlight will be almost transparent;
At the finishing stage, we use polish and a foam rubber circle.

The whole process takes about 15 minutes, for manual polishing we multiply this figure by two.

We harvest and soak for 10 minutes skins with a grain size of 2000/1000/800 and 600;
First we use 600 (for deep scratches);

It took a long time to turn the adjusting screw, adjusting the work of the headlight. It took a lot of time and effort. It is much easier to set up lighting in modern products of the Volzhsky Automobile Plant. To do this, first of all, you will need:

a piece of regular school chalk;
relatively flat wall.

You will have to draw a simple diagram on it, with the help of which the adjustment will take literally a few minutes.

Of course, many might say that adjusting an external light is easier by eye, but would that be correct? In no case. It is with the help of a special scheme that it will be easiest to do this.

You will need to do the following:

the car is installed on a flat, preferably asphalt or concreted area with headlights to the wall;
the distance to it should be exactly five meters;

On the surface of the wall (or fence, sheets of fiberboard, etc.), three lines are drawn strictly vertically:

one runs clearly in the center of the hood of the car and starts from the ground;
the second - on the right side along the axis of the corresponding headlight;
the third is on the left;
the distance between them should be 96.4 centimeters.

Next, horizontal lines are drawn:

the first is strictly along the axis of the headlights;
the second is 65 centimeters below it.

Their length should be sufficient to completely cover the illuminated section of the wall. It is also necessary to perform the following procedures before starting to adjust the lighting:

see how well the wheels are pumped up;
thoroughly clean the lens of the headlights from dirt;
fill the gas tank with fuel at least half (preferably completely);
an acquaintance should be seated behind the wheel, whose weight corresponds to yours;
rock the car to stabilize the suspension.

And, finally, all that remains is to set the hydrocorrector handle to 0 (zero). This mark corresponds to the value "one person in the cabin".

For those who are not in the know, the hydraulic corrector is controlled directly from the passenger compartment, the regulator is located to the left of the steering wheel, under the ventilation deflector grill.

First of all, you need to cover the light of one of the headlights so that it does not interfere. For this, it will be convenient to use a dark fabric or, for example, a jacket.

Next, you need to open the hood and find the screws responsible for the position of the lighting fixtures. The upper left one is responsible for the vertical movement of the lantern, the right one, respectively, for the horizontal one.

There are three more screws in the lower part - it is better not to touch them.

Turning the adjusters manually, set the headlights according to the scheme drawn earlier on the wall, so that the center of the light spot falls on the intersection of the upper horizontal lateral and vertical lines.

After that, the whole procedure is repeated with another headlamp.

In order to adjust these lighting devices, you will need to do the following:

for a machine prepared as mentioned above, measure the distance between the ground surface and the center of the PTF with a tape measure;
at this height, a horizontal line is drawn on the wall, another one 10 centimeters lower.
the adjusting screws for the fog lights are located from the outside, and in the process you will need a screwdriver;
as before, the lighting is adjusted individually (the PTF that is unnecessary at this time is covered);
the center of the light beam should be level with the lower horizontal line and clearly parallel to the headlamp.

That is, the changing pressure of the working fluid in the system leads to mechanical movements of the desired part. This is actually the case. The entire system for adjusting the direction of the flow of light consists of the following main units:

master cylinder;
connecting tubes;
working cylinders (on each block headlight);
levers transmitting force.

The device works according to this principle. To readjust the position of the reflectors, the driver uses a knob on the dashboard to change the position of the master cylinder rod. The changed pressure sets the fluid in motion, which, in turn, pulls in / out the rod on the working cylinders. The force is transmitted to the lever, which is fixed on the axle, like a swing. The linkage shifts the position of the headlamp reflector, changing the direction of the light.

Manual headlight adjustment

When the hydrocorrector is working normally, the reflectors should respond to the turns of the handle. It is easy to check this in the dark by aiming the headlights on a vertical plane (some wall, for example). If the reflectors remain stationary, this indicates a possible breakdown of the adjustment system.

Most often, the corrector stops working during the period of sudden changes in external temperatures, when the sealing gum on the cylinders can crack and leak. Also, loss of fluid from the system can result in damage to the connecting tubing. Whatever the reason, the working cylinders freeze in one position and do not react to switching.

It will not be possible to repair the hydraulic system itself, since their manufacturer does not provide for such an opportunity. Therefore, if an all-season fluid leaks, the hydraulic corrector assembly must be replaced with a new one. However, there may be a situation when the reflectors stop turning not due to a faulty corrector. This happens if the control lever, which transfers force to the headlamp reflector, loses contact with the slave cylinder rod. The presence of such a malfunction may be prompted by the fact that one of the reflectors has stopped turning.

In order to eliminate such a breakdown, it is necessary to restore the engagement of the working rod (there is a recess on it), with the ball-shaped end of the adjusting lever. You should do the following:

Screw in the bolt that adjusts the position of the lever support point to the stop.
Move the reflector to the lowest position.
Align the lever ball with the stem recess and then unscrew the adjusting bolt to the desired position.

The lever ball slipping out of the stem recess is the only problem that can be corrected. If the tightness of the hydraulic system is broken, the corrector must be changed.

For this VAZ model, if it becomes necessary to replace the device, there are two options:

install a hydrocorrector provided by the car manufacturer;
replace the hydraulic corrector with an electrical analogue.

In the first case, you need to purchase a device 2114-3718010, which is suitable for VAZ models from 2113 to 2115. Replacement must begin with removing the faulty headlight range control, which is performed in this sequence.

The screw clamps are unscrewed, which attach the connecting tubes to the retaining structures.
The handle of the master cylinder is removed, after which the nut that attracts the main hydraulic device to the dashboard is unscrewed.
The working cylinders are disconnected from the headlamp design and, together with the tubes, are pushed into the interior.
The installation of a new hydraulic headlight beam adjustment device must be carried out in the reverse order.

To replace the hydrocorrector with an electrical version suitable for installation in the same places, you need to purchase a Silich-Zenit device. After removing the standard corrector, the following steps are performed:

Disconnected "minus" from the battery.

After replacing the sealing ring, the electric correctors are mounted in the places where the working cylinders were.

"Plus" is connected to the block "20", "minus" is shorted to ground.

The wiring is fixed where the connecting tubes were. You can also attach it to the general power harness.

The "minus" is connected to the battery, the performance of the electric corrector is checked.
