This time it will be about the gas reducer again, and today you will learn how to disassemble the Lovato gas reducer and install the repair kit. The need to disassemble and clean the gearbox arises when certain symptoms indicate malfunctions. How to understand that it is time to clean the gearbox is written in this article.

Safety comes first! Before how to disassemble the reducer: find a well-ventilated area, turn off the gas supply, remove the negative terminal from the battery. And most importantly, remove any sources of fire!

1. So, the gas supply is shut off, all safety measures are observed, you can proceed. The first step is to remove the gas supply hoses and dismantle the reducer.

2. Then we take the hexagon “H4” and unscrew the 6 bolts securing the upper gearbox cover.

3. They removed the cover, under which the first membrane is located. We pry on the membrane and remove it in the direction indicated in the photo.

4. You will then have access to the rocker arm. Remove the two rocker arm mounting bolts.

5. Unscrew the sensitivity adjustment screw.

6. Hook the rocker arm with a screwdriver and remove it.

7. Unscrew 4 bolts with a hexagon, then remove the diaphragm and the spring located under the diaphragm.

8. Turn the gearbox over and unscrew the 8 fixing screws, remove the cover together with the spring located under it.

9. Further, according to the same principle, we remove the membrane.

10. After you dismantled the gearbox, clean it, wash it, and also replace all necessary rubber bands and oil seals. Allow all parts to dry before assembly. Assembly is carried out in reverse order.

To slightly simplify this task, it is necessary to take into account: for any rotation, the above characteristics of the change in gas pressure are characteristic of it.

Idling adjustment in vehicles is explained by the degree of shaking of the engine. Its quiet work indicates that the gearbox repair was done competently and efficiently.

So, we start the engine and hold the throttle open. Then we smoothly release it and slow down until the power unit stalls. At the same time, do not forget the condition: the gas reducer of the car engine must continue to work. For "dummies" explanation: the engine will not stall completely if you start turning the throttle regulator in an arbitrary direction. If the worst performance of the motor is visible, it will be necessary to change the direction of rotation of the gearbox and restore its stable operation.

Car owners, from their own experience and budget, clearly feel the systematic rise in fuel prices. Once in a similar position, the only way to save money can be considered the use of gas equipment. Correct adjustment of LPG Lovato 2nd generation in the injector and carburetor can be done by hand. In comparison with the new model HBO (4th and 5th generations), the 2nd generation HBO reducer has somewhat lost its relevance. However, this does not indicate that there is no point in using it. Not at all. These systems have survived on almost all cars.And some experts advise you to put them. This is due to the outstanding qualities of the 2nd generation HBO:

  • availability and proven quality of the system. As a result, installation work is allowed to be performed on its own;
  • virtually complete absence of electronic filling, which radically simplifies adjustment;
  • the possibility of repairing individual components without leaving the garage. Having identified a malfunction, it is not necessary to rush to the service station. With basic knowledge, you can do all the necessary work with your own hands;
  • affordable price for equipment. The purchase and installation of LPG class is more expensive. The situation with the 2nd generation LPG equipment is quite different. The purchase and further tuning of gas equipment for 2 generation cars in the current circumstances really helps out.

How is it possible to adjust the 2nd generation HBO with your own hands? In fact, the 2nd generation HBO is slightly different from its own predecessor (1st generation HBO). The only difference is that an electromechanical system has been introduced. Through its use, it is possible to coordinate the strength of the gas flow.

Speaking about how to adjust HBO of the 2nd generation, it is important to note that the creators managed to significantly reduce the load on the engine (gas burns much more slowly), increase the capabilities of the power unit (oil is stored on the surface of the cylinders), reduce the amount of carbon deposits and reduce the harm from exhaust. By the way, it is the moment described in the last turn that allows the catalyst to last much longer. If necessary, when setting up LPG 2nd generation Lovato with your own hands, the gas supply remains at a certain level.

Attention! The lambda probe emulator is a very useful product. It thoroughly helps with tuning, but only on condition that it is in good working order.

In the 2nd generation Lovato gas reducer, the adjustment has its own characteristics. In general, the gas is sensitive to many important points and changes in the operation of the system. It happens that gas equipment was installed, but then there was an increase in fuel consumption or other problems with the engine. Let's say the car starts to start slowly or stalls regularly. In this case, it is better to adjust the gearbox.

What needs to be done for this? To familiarize yourself with the specifics of the process, you can view the diagram of the existing terminals and control components.

Adjust the electric gearbox. You have in stock regulators - XX pressure (2) and gas volume (2). It is necessary to adhere to the following algorithm of actions:

  • switch to gasoline, turn on the car and warm up the engine to 95 degrees;
  • set the speed at around 900-1100 rpm and turn off the fuel supply (in this case, gasoline);
  • set the initial positions of the adjusting screws: set the dispenser to the extreme mark, turn the regulator XX (2) to the end and then turn it exactly 5 turns, turn the regulator 1 to the end.
  • transfer control to gas and turn on the car. Set the speed of the power unit to a mark in the region of 2 thousand by means of the suction;
  • little by little put back the suction and unscrew the XX regulator (2). Do this until you get the best engine RPM. What does it mean? Turn screw 2 until the revolutions stop increasing. Stop when you reach this goal;
  • operate in the described order until the suction is completely sunk in;
  • turn the adjusting screw (2) evenly. It is necessary to achieve such a state that the sum of the revolutions becomes presumably the same as when running on gasoline. When adjusting, you must remember that after turning the knob, the reaction to changes is not observed instantly, but after a while. This means that it is imperative to pause.

Adjust the sensitivity of the gearbox. Everything is simple here.Turn the adjusting screw (1) up to a decrease (increase) in the speed of XX (again, do not forget about the delay). Following this, turn the regulator back slightly - by 1.25 rpm. Then try to push the gas properly. Perfect if the car immediately reacts to your actions.

However, here it is important not to forget one more thing. If the adjusting screw "1" has not been tightened well enough, it is preferable to leave it intact. Among other things, provided that the engine capacity is less than 3 liters, then it is also better not to touch the described screw.

Adjust the dispenser. To this end:

  • set the number of revolutions at around 3500. Accordingly, it is preferable to involve an assistant in the process and ask him to press the gas (do not use the suction). No helpers found? It is necessary to secure the throttle cable using a screwdriver;
  • turn the adjusting screw until changes in rpm appear. Turn the screw to the left and to the right in order to make sure that all actions were carried out correctly;
  • turn the screw while the rpm is increasing. As soon as the rotation stops producing results, you need to stop;
  • from now on, turn the screw 0.75 vol. from the limiting indicator.
  • call the assistant and ask him to press the gas. Do not forget to turn screw 2 1/4 turn at the same time. There should be a feeling of a slight decrease in speed;
  • turn the sensitivity screw half a turn;
  • re-adjust the dispenser.

Measure the level of carbon dioxide in the exhaust. The standard is around 0.35%. Are the numbers too high? Tighten screw XX on the gearbox and increase the air injection (for this, use a special screw on the carburetor). If a reduced speed is observed, the opposite action should be taken.

If possible, in order to correctly configure and adjust the 2nd generation LPG, use a lambda probe emulator. It allows you to see to what extent the work has been done accurately. At the same time, you can make any adjustments you need along the way.

A simplified method used when repairing HBO 2nd generation with your own hands (Lovato brand) - the basics of setting (a sensitivity bolt in combination with a greed bolt):

  1. The diaphragm sensitivity bolt is completely screwed in to a slight stop.
  2. Then unscrew the sensitivity bolt 5 turns from the twisted position.
  3. The greed bolt (main chamber) on the hose is screwed in, in turn, to a slight stop.
  4. After that, the greed bolt is unscrewed 3 turns from the twisted position.

Regulation of gas equipment on your own - half an hour's work. Yes, and replacing the gas filter with Lovato 2nd generation LPG is not a source of difficulties either. It is imperative in this matter to remain focused and focused, to avoid rushing, and to follow the practical guidance exactly.
