The width of the frame opening will depend on the dimensions intended for pressing materials, but it must be no less than the sum of the widths of the press equipment elements.
The height is summed up from the dimensions of the jack, the required free movement of its rod, the height of the parts intended for pressing and the thickness of the mobile work table. With the scheme of the second work, the jack is attached to the base, and the top of the frame serves as an emphasis for the products. The pressure from the stem is transmitted to the workpiece using a movable work table. It is installed on top of the jack on the bed, along which he must move freely up and down held by the side rails.
On both sides of the jack, the springs are fixed: with one eyelet to the base of the frame, and the other to the movable table. Their purpose is to compress the jack to its original state when the rod does not protrude (the size and stiffness of the springs are selected accordingly). You can also make the option when a tool in the form of a mandrel is put on the stem, where one eyelet is attached, and the other is attached to the base.
The first scheme of the press operation implies that the base of the frame will be the emphasis for the products, and the jack is mounted on a movable table suspended from the top of the frame on springs. Under the base of the jack rod in two schemes, a nest is made on the interface. This can be a small piece of pipe of the appropriate diameter.
To regulate the free movement of the jack rod and, of course, the height of the workpieces, the following solutions are possible:
provide for the installation of replaceable inserts-linings from a hollow or solid metal profile;
make a removable stop in the form of a movable work table, which can be fixed on the bed with rods or nuts and bolts. For this holes are made in the frame with a distance in height less than the movement of the jack rod;
a screw drive with a steering wheel is installed on top of the frame. By tightening the screw with the plate at the end, you can reduce the clearance for products inside the frame;
combined use of the above options.
All dimensions in the project must be indicated taking into account the dimensions of the objects of pressing, the jack, as well as the dimensions of the intended metal rolling for use during the manufacture of the press with your own hands.

The purchased hydraulic press is used as a power device. Door springs from the front seats of the car or other suitable ones. When the jack is in the lower position, the bridge fungus can be selected as an element of the pull-back device. It is put on the rod, the springs are fixed to it and the base of the bed.
Details that may be required:
a piece of metal sheet from 8 millimeters - if you need flooring on the base or other parts of the structure to level the surface;
channel more than No. 8, square or rectangular shaped pipe from 35x35 mm, angle from 45x45 mm - for the frame, its base, mobile work table, removable stop;
a piece of pipe for the stem head (of the appropriate section, approximately 1 cm long);
metal strip 1 cm - for stiffeners, frame guides (if necessary).

After designing the drawing and preparing all the required components, materials and tools, it becomes clear how to make a hydraulic press. First all metal is cut to size described in the drawing. Make all the necessary holes, if provided by the project, on the specified details.
After that, the frame is welded from the sections of the square shaped pipe, the seams on the joints are boiled from below and from above. From above, by means of welding, a metal plate of the required size is fixed. Also, with the help of a welding unit, they make a U-shaped structure with clearly right angles, it is securely attached to the base and the frame is ready.
Assemble a mobile work table. For what you can choose a pipe or channel cut to a size smaller than the intermediate distance of the frame struts. A piece of pipe is welded to the channel under the jack rod.In the role of table guides, parts of the strip are usually chosen with a length equal to the width of the frame. Having wound the channel between the frame posts, the strips are installed on the side and the entire structure is fastened with nuts and bolts. A removable adjustable stop is also assembled, but holes are made in the strips opposite the racks for fastening at the required height.
After that, in the provided places, the springs are fastened in a convenient way. Pulling back the mobile work table, attach the jack - the do-it-yourself hydraulic press is ready. If there is no need for it, then the jack can be easily removed and used for its intended purpose.
