ATTENTION! To ensure disconnection of the half-couplings in case of accidental disconnection of the trailer from the tractor, the half-coupling must be fixed on the trailer in the bracket with a retaining ring.

4.9.2. The hydraulic cylinder (Fig. 19) is a three-stage telescopic type, fixed on two ball bearings, designed to lift the platform during unloading.

The hydraulic cylinder consists of a body 11, a bottom 20, intermediate plungers 12 and 13, an inner plunger 15, into which the bottom 16 and the upper support are welded 5. Between themselves, the intermediate and inner pipes are connected by thrust rings 10. The gaps between the pipes are sealed with sealing collars 2. Protection of sealing the cuffs from dirt and dust are carried out by the cleaners 4. The hydraulic cylinder is fixed in the spherical bearings with retaining rings 6 and 22. There are threaded holes in the lower and upper bearings for installing lubricators for supplying lubricant to the bearings during operation.

When the platform is raised, the oil from the tractor hydraulic system flows to the union 4 and through the ball 3 and the union 8 to the hydraulic cylinder. In this case, the piston 2 is in the extreme position and the collar "B" takes the ball 3 away from the seat.

When the lift angle is reached, the chain 7 (see Fig. 17) raises the piston 2 to the upper position. The collar "B" (see figure 20) releases the ball 3, which sits on its seat and stops the oil supply to the trailer hydraulic cylinder. The lifting of the platform stops.

The value of the lift angle is regulated by the chain length 7 (see Figure 17); for a platform with main and extension boards when the load falls on the sides by 50 °, the chain length should be 900 mm.

When lowering the platform, when the lever of the hydraulic valve of the tractor is moved to the “floating” position, the oil pressure in front of the union 4 (see Fig. 20) decreases. Oil from the hydraulic cylinder goes to the fitting 8, squeezing out the ball 3, and goes to drain. In this case, the piston 2 under the pressure of oil and spring 9 moves to the lowest position.
