Do-it-yourself grinder repairs should be done with great care and without haste. The negative consequences of manipulations with the power and / or electronic unit can lead to the transformation of a minor breakdown into a complete rejection of the grinder, and then even a professional master cannot save it.
The angle grinder is called "grinder" only in the repair spaces of the former USSR for a prosaic reason - its production was solely carried out by the "Eltos-Bolgarka" plant in Plovdiv. The high-speed cut-off wheel is an indispensable assistant when processing the most durable metal, when arranging siding on the ceiling, when cutting reinforcement, sheets, profiles and many other repair operations. Grinding capabilities of grinders are no less popular - they allow you to eliminate burrs, roughness both from metal and from stone or marble.

Over the past 40 years, the range of grinders has grown tremendously, but the rules for handling this convenient and multifunctional tool have not changed much. Moreover - repairs are often prevented by following simple operating guidelines :
Do not remove the cover over the abrasive disc unless absolutely necessary. If this cannot be avoided, be sure to wear safety glasses and protect the instrument from any lateral contact ;
Do not process wood, chipboard, MDF and similar materials - there are saws and hacksaws for this;
Hold the grinder firmly and confidently - if the disc is jammed, the entire tool can be pulled out of your hands, it will receive severe damage and entail the risk of serious injury;
The work of any grinder is accompanied by the presence of characteristic sparks - beware of getting them on the electrical wiring, power cord and any other flammable materials;
Any workpiece - cut or grinded - must be securely held in place. Even if you have to cut a reinforcing bar embedded in concrete when erecting a strip foundation from corrugated board, you should make sure that the entire structure is strong before pressing the "Start" button on the grinder;
Do not press down on the part to speed up the work. The principle of operation of abrasive wheels is to erase the material of the workpieces and does not need a large clamping force ... Precision of movement when working with a grinder is just as useful as brute force is harmful.

Any angle grinder consists of the following units and mechanisms, the location and condition of which should be understood with confidence:
Layout and electrical diagrams, as well as detailed instructions for the exact model of the grinder that you want to repair, will be an extremely desirable assistant in the repair.Unfortunately, many manufacturers do not burden their devices with such excesses. In this case, the necessary information can be gleaned from the know-it-all Internet and not to repair the grinder with your own hands, counting on "maybe everything is simple there", of course, if you do not want to buy a new tool following the results of the repair procedures ...

The main principle in the repair of any electrical equipment is the postulate "move from simple to complex."
Whether it is a household electric cartridge or a turbine at a hydroelectric power plant, the repair sequence should exclude elementary malfunctions in the first place. It is not for nothing that electrical and electronics are called “the two sciences of contact”. Typical malfunctions of grinders, coupled with methods for their elimination, are as follows:
Replacing brushes belongs to the "top of the first level" when self-correcting faults in electric grinders. You can continue to paint repair recommendations, how to disassemble the grinder's gearbox, rewind its winding or reconfigure the electronic filling. But serious breakdowns require a serious approach to work. If you've never seen this gearbox, how can you fix it? The chance of turning on the grinder depends on your common sense - saving on professional repairs will result in the loss of the entire tool.
Small, comfortable, functional enough and most importantly - reliable! Grinder Greapo PGA125EH has served for 6 years and still pleases with impeccable work. They didn’t expect this from the “Chinese”.
Previously, the company was not familiar to me, but the device turned out to be very worthy.
The Greapo grinder is not very heavy, there is a disk rotation speed regulator (9 positions, adjustable from 3000 to 11000 rpm).
A sufficiently long connection cord is 2 meters. All that is missing is a soft start.
The assembly is surprisingly excellent, the body is solid, everything fits tightly and efficiently, so far there have been no problems with it, although it has worked a lot.
I haven’t seen a tool of this company on the shelves for a long time, but it is definitely worth considering as an option.
Many are familiar with the situation when a favorite tool stops working for no apparent reason. And if the grinder does not turn on, then, often, the reason for this is a simple breakdown, which can be quickly eliminated without special knowledge and tools. Next, we will consider simple ways to diagnose and repair a power tool using an angle grinder as an example. Initial state - the grinder does not start when the power button is pressed.
To complete the work, we need a multimeter with a dial function and a screwdriver. The first thing to check is the wire, or rather the plug and the place where the wire enters the body. Press the button and "massage" the suspicious areas. Most often, problems arise in the case. If this does not help and the grinder still does not work, go to the next step.
We disassemble the case. To be sure, you can turn on our tester in the dialing mode, and check the integrity of the wires from the plug to the entrance to the button.
Next in the electrical circuit is a button. Often it is the malfunction of this unit that is the reason that the grinder does not start. In order to check this unit, you need to turn it to the ON position, and "ring", as shown in the following photo:
In this case, the button "rang", which indicates its serviceability, so let's move on. This grinder uses a speed regulator, so it is also worth "ringing" it, having previously set it to maximum power.
The next thing to pay attention to if the grinder does not turn on are brushes. In large angle grinders, the brush holders are located outside, in our case - inside the case. We remove the brushes and examine them. It is necessary to make sure the integrity of the contacts on the brush itself. The main criterion for the performance of a brush is its degree of wear or size. In this grinder, it was their wear and tear that caused its failure. Therefore, replacing the grinder brushes will help eliminate the malfunction. For clarity, a comparison is made between new brushes and completely worn out ones.
If, in your case, all this turned out to be serviceable, and the grinder does not work, then the last thing that can be checked without a special tool is the anchor. To begin with, we "ring" between the iron parts of the armature and the collector lamellas. If it rings, then there is a breakdown of the insulation and the armature must be replaced.
Next, you need to measure the resistance between adjacent lamellas on the collector. It should be the same for all pairs. If, at any point of measurement, the resistance is several times higher, then we can talk about a break in the winding. It should be noted that such a malfunction rarely leads to a complete stop of the engine.
If, after carrying out the above diagnostics, it was not possible to identify the malfunction and the grinder does not turn on, then it seems that you will have to contact the master.

Even the highest quality tool can break down after some time, not to mention cheap "consumer goods". The grinder is also no exception. This tool has gained popularity due to its versatility and ease of use. There are a large number of models of grinders, the device of which and the principle of operation do not differ significantly from each other. The tool may break during operation. Repair in the workshop will turn out to be a tidy sum, so many craftsmen carry out repairs of the grinder with their own hands.
The grinder in many cases is an irreplaceable thing. As with any instrument, it should be handled with some degree of care. In order to carry out a high-quality repair of a grinder with your own hands, you need to know how it works.
This part is located inside the electric motor and starts to rotate during operation. The higher the speed of its rotation, the more power the grinder has.
It is a separate place of the armature, on which the control and power windings are located. The collector supplies signals to the control unit and the engine.
These elements used to supply current from the power cable to the manifold.
Located in front of the grinder. Thanks to him, in the process of rotation, mechanical energy is transferred from the armature to the disk.
It is one of the engine parts with an anchor located inside. This the part by its design is the most complex , because all the windings are pressed very precisely in it.
In addition, the device includes a tool body, cable with a plug and handles-holders.
Before you start repairing a grinder with your own hands, it is best to have in front of you layout and electrical diagram and detailed instructions that matches a specific model. Do-it-yourself tools should be repaired with certain knowledge.

When repairing a tool, they usually start with the simplest and end with the most difficult. When repairing a grinder with your own hands, they also adhere to this rule.
There are situations when the instrument stops working and does not turn on. The most common reason for this is that the electric current ceases to flow into the brushes. The whole problem in this case will be either in the wire, or in the plug, or the trigger is simply broken. To troubleshoot you should disassemble the grinder and check cable breaks. As soon as the wire is replaced, the tool starts to work normally.
VIDEO
The grinder does not work, but the wire and plug are not damaged. In this case, repairing with your own hands will consist in disassembling the trigger. All elements that will be removed must be marked. This is done so that later you can correctly assemble it. Otherwise, the armature may jam or the winding may burn out. trigger brushes, you can pick up any similar button.
VIDEO
If the trigger and wire are ok but the tool still doesn't work, the problem is most likely with the brush holders. Usually, for the appearance of a spark and starting the mechanism, it is necessary to clean the contact plates. In case of failure, replace the existing solder.They usually run smoothly for about two years. It should be noted that some models of grinders have a brush connection. In this case, you should only solder and install new ones as a set. Partial replacement is not possible.
After replacing the old ones with new ones, you must carefully examine them. If uneven wear is visible, it means that the moving part of the grinder or the center of gravity has shifted. In this situation it is worth contacting a specialist , because it is almost impossible to fix the malfunction and adjust the center of gravity with your own hands.
More specific malfunctions, the repair of which requires gears of skills and knowledge, are:
jammed bearings;
failure of the control electronics;
deformation of the body;
breakage of teeth gear casing;
failure of the stator or armature;
failure of the collector.
If there are mechanical defects in the grinder, then more attention must be paid to the condition of the large gear, shank and bushings. If uneven wear on shafts or teeth is found, the worn parts must be replaced as soon as possible.
VIDEO
In order to avoid repairing the grinder with your own hands, you must observe the following important operating rules:
Without special need, it is not worth removing, after all, which is located above the abrasive wheel. If you had to take it off, then work should be done only with glasses with a high degree of protection. In addition, it may be necessary to ensure that the tool does not touch anything on the side.
To process wood, chipboard and MDF, hacksaws and saws are required, but not a grinder.
In the process of work, this tool must be held very tightly. Otherwise, if the disc gets stuck, the grinder can slip out of your hands. Moreover, she not only breaks her, but is also capable of causing injury.
The process of working with such a tool is always accompanied by sparks. Therefore nyou need to be very careful and make sure that they do not come into contact with wiring and other materials that could easily ignite.
When starting to cut surfaces, cheap ones should be secured as best as possible.
In no case should you put pressure on the part for faster work progress.
VIDEO
Prevention is that it is necessary to completely or partially disassemble the tool , clean it, lubricate and, if necessary, replace some parts.
Timely replacement of light enough parts that wear out very quickly allows you to save more expensive components, which will subsequently save you from premature repairs and significantly extend the service life of the grinder.
It should be remembered that it is not always possible to repair the grinder with your own hands. The replacement of the brushes is considered to be a malfunction. If you need to disassemble the tool, then in this case, the beginner is unlikely to be able to cope. You should not undertake such work if you are not confident in your abilities, because as a result, you can finally break the tool and it will be impossible to correct the situation.

The Pila online store offers greapo spare parts at attractive prices to residents of Novosibirsk, Biysk and other Russian cities.We work closely with well-known transport companies, therefore we organize the delivery of goods from our catalog throughout the country.
Ergonomics: I liked the car at first sight. Yes, the design is modest, no frills, but every detail looks solid and of high quality (of course, adjusted for the household class of the product). The joints of the body parts are tight, the mating elements are well fitted and form a rigid structure. We would like to emphasize that the absence of backlash in the back cover is a rarity for "one-handed" machines from this test. Moving on to the gearbox, you notice that it is also made with dignity - neither the button nor the mechanism itself has much "freedom" (about two degrees).
On closer acquaintance, remarks also appear. Take, for example, the switch - it works well, but the return spring seems too tight. The logic of the location of the button also does not look ideal: the "slider" is on the back (relatively familiar) side of the case, in other words, not under the thumb, but under the index finger. A similar solution is encountered quite often, but it seems to us that it is not very convenient. However, we got used to it quickly.
The next nitpick is the attachment points for the additional handle. They were surprised by the fact that the site on which my.housecope.com/wp-content/uploads/ext/3456 is based is not perpendicular to the screwing direction axis. In other words, the handle rests on the body with only one edge, which is not fatal, but obviously reduces the rigidity of the joint. Disorder is observed in both the right and left positions of the "hand". However, we will repeat - all this is not so important.
But I liked the attachment of the protective casing. To turn it, you do not need to unscrew or even loosen anything. Shield is located on a spring-loaded friction clutch with several positions of "rigid" locking, so that it can be simply turned without any preparatory steps.
Tool operation: having turned on the car, you notice the "agility" of the drive, a large stick out and a relatively high noise. When you start work, the first thing you do is “blame” the switch. No, it is quite comfortable and does not spoil the ergonomics, but because of it you have to keep your index finger very close to the disc, which initially creates psychological discomfort.
Directly on the case: the engine is really very powerful, you feel confident with it. The gearbox and motor housings hardly heat up - also a plus. But there are comments on the convenience of work. Let's start with the main and main thing: the immersion depth is too small my.housecope.com/wp-content/uploads/ext/3456 - the case interferes. In the conditions of our test, this was especially pronounced when the circle sharpened noticeably - the smaller its radius became, the more difficult it was to cut through the workpiece to the end. By the way, measurements of the time of cuts confirm what has been said - usually by the end it decreases (you get used to the tool), but here it is vice versa. Due to the large gearbox, the view is also a little difficult. However, the noted shortcomings are rather subjective, since the degree of their influence directly depends on the habits of the master and the specific situation.
A test with a brick showed that with a horizontal position of the body, the maximum cutting depth is 28 mm, and with a vertical one - 30 mm. The device does not shine in the role of a grinder - the tendency to vibrations is too large. The reason for this behavior is not clear to us, but, probably, it is due to insufficient stiffness of the shaft, planting it or bearings (or something similar). This seemed strange, since we did not notice anything of the kind during cutting operations - the course was quite smooth.
What are the advantages of the tool: machine pleases with workmanship. It will perform best where high power is required in combination with compactness and low weight. "Contraindications to use" are very conditional: not quite standard switch location and limited cutting depth.

Grundfos pumps are most often used to optimize the circulation of the water supply during the heating season or in closed autonomous heating systems. They help to distribute heat evenly in the room and thus make more efficient use of energy.
Grundfos pump device.
These pumps are resistant to voltage surges and have overload protection. They are produced by a Danish company, which provides a guarantee for their quality and guarantees sufficiently high performance. These pumps can be used both at home and in industrial buildings.
However, if this equipment breaks down, the heating system will stop functioning and will remain cold until repairs are carried out.
The most common cause of pump malfunction is the formation of deposits that settle on the walls and, as a result, prevent the machine from starting. This violation can be corrected by doing the repair yourself. If you decide to purchase new equipment, it will be helpful to fix the old one. This way you can use it as a fallback.
For repairs you will need tools such as:
screwdriver;
scraper (made of wood);
hex wrench;
circle and polishing paste.
The first step is to remove all excess deposits from the shaft and rotor.
Since the main cause of pump failure is dirt build-up, the purpose of repairs is usually to clean the machine.To do this, you need to remove all unnecessary deposits from the two component parts - the shaft and the rotor. This can be done by first unscrewing the pump screws with a hex wrench and thereby disassembling the threaded connection that holds the motor and pump. Once you open it, determine how much rust has collected in it.
Depending on this, it can be removed with a cloth or scraper. In order to disassemble the washer, as well as the rotor with its impeller, it is enough to insert a thin screwdriver into the slots that are located around the support washer. You can determine for yourself how high the likelihood of new deposits forming on a given surface is. If it is smooth, there is much less chance of deposits forming. Now it can be processed with a grinding wheel.
After that, you need to inspect the stator. As a result of work, it can oxidize quite strongly, and in this case it can only be cleaned with a hammer.
For normal operation of the pump, it is necessary to polish its inner walls.
Special attention should be paid to the sensor. The dirt and rust that builds up on it over time often causes Grundfos pumps to lose their performance. As a result, their work may stop altogether. Therefore, the sensor must also be removed and cleaned of deposits. To do this, remove the cover from the control unit and disassemble the pump housing in two halves.
To remove the sensor itself, you must unscrew the screws using the wrench that comes with the pump. After loosening the screws, the sensor housing can be easily removed by hand. If this cannot be done due to settled dirt, you can pry it off with a screwdriver. Since this part is made of plastic, the manufacturer himself recommends cleaning it more carefully and using less aggressive materials. To do this, you can use a regular toothbrush.
In order for Grundfos to work again in normal mode, it is necessary to polish its inner walls. At the same time, the work can be facilitated if you use polishing tools, having previously fixed them in the drill chuck.
If a bearing is stuck in the pump, then it is necessary to disassemble it and try to turn the impeller.
In order to remove lime deposits, the system is filled with a solution of acetic acid and water, which are mixed in equal parts. Threaded connections can be sealed. This will help prevent pump leaks in the future. You can even use a bicycle tube pad for these purposes.
Sometimes the reasons for the pump stopping can be a jammed bearing, the lack of a water flow sensor, or a drop in pressure. To do this, it is not at all necessary to completely disassemble the pump in order to eliminate one of the above problems.
Try to simply switch the equipment to manual mode by removing the switch located on the junction box from the stopper and placing the handle in the middle position. This will allow the pump to run even when the tap is closed. But if this did not help him turn on, then it is necessary to disassemble the pump and try to turn the impeller. If it does not scroll, the pump cannot be repaired.
If the pump works only in manual mode, the cause of the breakdown is the flowing water sensor.
The breakage can be eliminated by replacing the sensor itself. Sometimes the pump stops working after turning off the water due to the fact that air accumulates in it. In this case, you can lower it by turning the central screw.
VIDEO
After completing all these operations or when completely cleaning the pump, it must be reassembled. This is done in reverse order.
If none of the above actions led to the resumption of the pump's operation, the breakdown may consist in the failure of the winding of its motor or capacitor.Such a malfunction requires replacement of spare parts, which can only be provided by a service center. Otherwise, the only way out is to replace this device. In European countries, the average service life of these pumps is about 5 years. However, the water quality in Europe is better, so the lifespan can be shortened by a year or two.
The device, which I called "tsapfenbor", I designed at the time when I decided to make homemade wheels for the walk-behind tractor. I cut out wheel disks with a diameter of 320 mm using this particular tool. Having at his disposal a small manual cutting machine (popularly referred to as "Bulgarian") model GREAPO PG125SE, he made for it a simple but reliable, and most importantly, the necessary device for cutting out parts in the form of a circle from sheet metal or holes in it.
Design. The basis of the device is a console made of steel strip with a section of 22 × 5 mm. In the console with the aforementioned "grinder", stepping back 6 mm from one end, a longitudinal through groove (oblong hole) with a width of 9.2 mm and a length of 150 mm is cut in the middle. A pair of holes with a diameter of 4 mm are drilled near the other end for rivets.
Further, a U-shaped bracket is bent from a steel strip with a section of 25 × 2 mm, in the horns of which the same longitudinal through grooves (oblong holes) are cut as in the console, only shorter — 35 mm long. In the back of the brace, two holes with a diameter of 4 mm are also drilled, corresponding to those made in the console. But it would be better if these pairs of holes were drilled simultaneously in both mating parts. The holes on the outer sides are countersinked After that, the parts are again joined and connected with steel rivets with heads made in a blind. It is quite possible to use ordinary suitable nails as rivets, cutting them to the desired length.
The device has one more important detail, or rather, a knot. The main element in it is the axle, which is a stud with an M8 thread at one end (or a screw without a head). The other two parts of the assembly are M8 nuts, one of them is winged and the other is hexagonal from a series of tall ones. On one side of this nut, a projection is carefully filed (or milled), width along the groove in the console and 2 mm high. The nut is screwed onto the axle until it stops. Below the projection in the nut and the axle, a diametrical through hole with a diameter of 2 mm is drilled for a cotter pin and countersinked on both sides (at the inlet and outlet). The axis is inserted from below into the console so that the protrusion of the nut enters its groove, and a wing nut is screwed onto the thread from above.
"Zapfenbor" - a device for cutting discs and round holes in sheet hard material with a manual cutting machine:
1 — console (steel strip 22 × 5); 2 — bracket (steel strip 25 × 2); 3 — axis (one-sided hairpin М8); 4 — axle stop (nut M8, high); 5 — axle clamping (wing nut М8); 6 — stop lock (pin d2); 7 — washer; 8 — fastening the bracket to the console (steel rivet d3, 2 pcs.)
After that, the device, to give it a presentation, can be coated with any paint at hand.
Exploitation. A hole for the axle is drilled in the center of the circle to be cut. The cutting machine is installed in the device vertically (pushed into the bracket) with a cutting wheel to the other side of the console. Through the longitudinal grooves in the arms, the brackets and threaded holes in the body of the "grinder" are connected with M8 bolts to the device. In this case, the bolts are screwed into the body until they stop, and the staples are also tightly attracted to the body with their nuts. The installation height should be that "oi. so that the cutting wheel protrudes 2-3 mm below the "ledge" nut (this is exactly what the grooves in the arms of the staple are designed for). Now the axle is inserted into the center hole of the circle, the wing nut is slightly unscrewed, the axle is released and the "grinder" moves to the desired place (the distance along the ruler from the cut-off wheel to the axis is equal to the radius of the cut circle or hole) and the wing nut is tightened again.
The attachment with the tool is ready for use. Now you can cut discs or holes in steel sheets (and other hard materials) up to 6 mm thick.
It is necessary to work with the tool in goggles and in a filter respirator to protect eyes and respiratory organs from metal and abrasive dust.
For another brand of cutting machine, the dimensions of the parts of the fixture will most likely have to be adjusted.
