Turn the engine crankshaft clockwise by the bolt of fastening of its pulley, while guiding the belt into the groove of the pulley until the belt is put on the pulley (at this moment the belt tension will weaken).

Turn the crankshaft until the mounting tool is not caught by the belt and remove the tool.

Turn the crankshaft a few turns and check that the belt is correctly positioned in the grooves of the pulleys. Reinstall the belt if necessary.

Chevrolet Cruze Power Steering Pump Replacement

If the pump (fig, 25) fails, replace it as a complete unit, as repair requires special tools and equipment.

Remove the Chevrolet Cruze power steering pump drive belt by cutting it with a knife.

Loosen the clamp that secures the fluid supply hose to the power steering pump pipe of the Chevrolet Cruze by squeezing its bent ears with pliers.

Slide the clamp over the hose and disconnect the hose from the nipple.

Unscrew the bolt-union fastening the high-pressure pipeline to the power steering pump fitting and disconnect the pipeline.

Remove the two bolts securing the power steering pump from the exhaust manifold. Remove the pump.

Install the power steering pump for the Chevrolet Cruze in the reverse order of removal.

Fill and bleed the power steering system with fluid.
