In detail: do-it-yourself iphone 5 case repair from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.
Almost all of Apple's new phones are bestsellers. They are very popular and have won the hearts of most consumers forever. These gadgets are very reliable, functional and convenient. Contrary to their qualities, all iPhones, like all other smartphones, can break. More often the consumer is to blame. In a large number of cases, you can repair the iPhone with your own hands, but it is better to contact the service center specialists. Apple-Restore , they can use the new service for calling an Apple technician repairman to your home, work or other place convenient for you for free.
There are not so many main reasons for iPhone breakdowns. These are breakdowns related to software (programs close by themselves, the phone “thinks” for a long time), which occurs if there was an intervention in the base platform or an incorrect installation of an application was made. The next type of breakdowns are breakdowns associated with the fact that the phone was dropped on the floor, something was dropped on it, and finally sat on it. Repair after such operations with the phone is not done quickly, and it is not cheap. A more serious breakdown may be a short circuit resulting from the ingress of liquid on the iPhone board. Repairs can be very expensive, or it can happen that the phone cannot be repaired.
The most common breakdown is the failure of the display or touch panel as a result of dropping the phone to the floor or asphalt. This breakdown can be corrected by yourself and not contact the service center, paying large repair bills.

So, first you need to unscrew the two bolts, which are located at the edges of the cable connector. Then you should carefully remove the top panel together with the display. This can be done with a regular suction cup or pry off the edge.
There are still small bolts from the end of the removed panel, which should also be unscrewed on both sides. There is another bolt next to the train, which must not be forgotten to unscrew. Thus, the display cable and touchscreen were disconnected. Now the display with the metal frame needs to be removed. This can be done with a knife.
We take a new display and, if the touchscreen is in order, we assemble the phone. But if you need to replace the touchscreen, then the removed display must be put aside. In order to separate the touchscreen from the metal frame, you need to take a building hair dryer and warm it up around the entire perimeter. After this procedure, the touchscreen must be detached from the frame with a scalpel.
Next, you need to take double-sided thin tape and glue it around the perimeter to the panel body. The new touchscreen must be glued to the tape and the phone must be assembled.
Of course, all these manipulations are not difficult, but there is one "BUT". During such repairs at home, there is a high probability that other parts of the gadget will be touched and damaged, the repair of which will result in a tidy sum.
We are often asked: "Is it difficult to disassemble the fifth iPhone?" The answer is no. But there are a few nuances. In order to disassemble the iPhone 5 with your own hands, you need a special 5-point screwdriver, a suction cup, a pick and a plastic spatula. If this is the first time you come across a phone parsing, you will need maximum perseverance, attentiveness and caution.
1. At the bottom of the phone, next to the system connector, you need to unscrew two screws.
2. Using a suction cup (in the lower part closer to the Home button), we remove the display module from the case, prying it with a plastic spatula or a pick.
3. Having lifted the display, it is necessary to unscrew the bolts securing the plate that presses the display connectors to the board. Then put it aside.
4. After the display cables become accessible, carefully pry them off with a spatula and disconnect them.
5. Thus, in our hands we are left with the display module and the back of the case with all the components assembled.
6. The next step in disassembly is going to the iPhone 5 battery. Unscrew the retaining plate, disconnect the battery connector. The rechargeable battery in the iPhone is glued to the body along its entire perimeter. In order to remove it, you need to pull on the plastic tongue sticking out from under it and pry it with a spatula.
7. Disconnect the system connector ribbon cable and the antenna coaxial cable in the same way. Their connectors are located next to the battery connector. Then unscrew the frame securing the main camera and flash LEDs.
8. By unscrewing the screws in the upper inner part of the case and around the perimeter of the motherboard, you can thereby remove it from the back cover. When disassembling iPhone 5, don't forget to disconnect the antenna coaxial cable under the board!
9. Taking off the main board of the iPhone 5, we can say that the iPhone is practically disassembled.
10. To replace the system connector cable and the polyphonic speaker, it is necessary to unscrew the fixing bolts and, prying them with a spatula, remove them from the case.
11. Let's move on to the display module of the iPhone 5, it's not difficult to disassemble it with your own hands. Several elements are fixed on it. This is the voice dynamics.
12. The front camera is fixed on the ribbon with a common plate. Be extremely careful when peeling off the light sensor and camera cable!
13. Removing the Home button is a snap. Sometimes the ingress of liquid or dirt will cause it to malfunction. In such cases, either cleaning or a complete replacement is required.
14. When disassembling the iPhone 5, be sure to remember where this or that element was, because after disassembling it, you still need to assemble it correctly. If you are intimidated by the do-it-yourself iPhone 5 repair, contact the Tech-Profi service center.
Iphone, today it is considered the most demanded and popular mobile gadget from the American trade brand "Apple", which also has impeccable quality.Manufacturing defects and defects in such phones are practically absent and all breakdowns are formed only through the fault of the users.
Manufacturers are very responsible for the manufacture of this device, however, not every owner is anxious and careful about the operation of this complex device. Often, carelessness leads to damage and you have to fix these defects.
But these actions can be carried out independently by reading our recommendations.
In this article, we will try to explain how it is possible to repair this device with our own hands using one example. You can also independently disassemble the gadget, replace components (covers, screens, batteries, etc.), replace vibration components.
The company produces several modifications of the iPhone (iphone 2g, 3g, 3gs, 4, 4s, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6+, 6S, 6S +, SE, 7, 7+), which are of very high quality, but breakdowns still happen and it is possible to do them yourself.
Using our instructions, you will have an excellent opportunity to fix the problem.
Before disassembling your device, decide why you need it at all, because it belongs to a very complex technological device and during disassembly it is easy to harm important components if you do not have enough experience. If you nevertheless decided to carry out repair and restoration work, perform these actions only if you are absolutely confident in your abilities.
You should be aware that all activities you perform at risk of your iPhone, which may lead to further malfunctions.
So, let's look at step by step how you can replace the microphone in the "iphone 4". To do this, you will need the following parts and tools (synchronization cable, special screwdrivers, a spatula for disassembly).
That's all the step-by-step instructions that we would like to offer you. We hope that with the patience, the courage and the allocation of time for this, you will succeed perfectly. We are not telling you how to put your phone back together, just follow the instructions in reverse order.
If you could not carry out a replacement, you always have the opportunity to call a professional service department, for example, a service center for the repair of mobile devices "MakeApple", which specializes specifically in the repair and restoration work and maintenance of iPhones.
The most common problem of breakage of iPhones, as well as other mobile phones, is gadgets flooded with various liquids, when moisture penetrates inside. In such a situation, it is generally not worthwhile to carry out repairs on your own, or expect a miracle that everything will dry up on its own and the iphone will work on its own.
The easiest breakdown is from flooding with any liquid, this will close the controller (after drying, the device can work, but the battery is quickly discharged). You cannot do anything on your own, here you need to carry out diagnostics and professional complex work on cleaning and repair.
In a situation, if you are faced with a problem, when you doubt that you will fix the problem, it is best to contact the knowledgeable specialists of the service center. "MakeApple" (link above), where you can always turn for professional support and free advice.
IPhone 5 and 5S owners are wondering how to disassemble the phone. Time does not spare even the best devices: the panel may fray (especially on black models), the sensor fails, and those who like to “swim” have problems with the hardware. To replace iPhone parts, you need to know the internals and be able to disassemble the device.
Before starting disassembly, set aside sufficient time for this and stock up on all the necessary tools. Such an iPhone disassembly kit can be purchased at any specialized online store:
- a five-blade Pentalob screwdriver (without it, the bolts are unlikely to give in to you);
- Phillips screwdriver;
- vacuum suction cup;
- a plastic spatula for disassembling the case (or something similar).
1. The first thing we need to do is unscrew the two screws at the bottom of the case, on the sides of the Lightning connector. In the iPhone 4, Phillips screws were used, in later versions of Apple, developers began to use special five-blade Pentalob bolts to prevent self-disassembly of phones.
Unscrew the first two screws at the bottom of the panelIf you do not have a special screwdriver for them, you can try using a five-pointed star or take a flat one and file it with a file on the sides. But be careful, if you use non-standard tools, you can grind off the bolt heads. Just in case, it is better to stock up on bolts of the same size, but with a cross-shaped head.
2. Using a vacuum suction cup, slightly lift the screen, helping ourselves with a plastic spatula. Why a spatula and not a screwdriver? Thus, we reduce the likelihood of damage to the case or screen of the iPhone. This can be done without the aid of a suction cup, by picking up something (some use a needle) the top panel, but you need to be extremely careful.
Raising the iPhone screen3. Carefully lift the screen from the side of the "Home" button. At this step, the first differences between models 5 and 5S appear. On the iPhone 5, the bezel just lifts up to an almost right angle with the body.
Raising the top panel on the iPhone 5The situation is more complicated on the iPhone 5S. The screen is attached to the motherboard with a ribbon cable, so you shouldn't lift it up suddenly. It is necessary to disconnect the loop before further work with a plastic spatula. And after that, raise the screen, as in version 5.
Disconnecting the ribbon cable on the iPhone 5S4. To completely detach the screen, use a Phillips screwdriver to get rid of the two screws that hold it.
Unscrew the top panel boltsThen we gently pick it up with a spatula.
A plastic spatula will help get rid of the top panelThe iPhone has split into two parts, each of which can be disassembled into several more parts.
iPhone is split in two5. Let's pay attention to the display panel.Unscrew the "Home" button. It is the same in both models.
6. At the top of the front bezel, the 5 and 5S are different again. The 5S has a camera, proximity sensor and speaker mounted there, which are removed after removing the mounting plate.
On the 5th version of the iPhone, the mount has a hearing speaker, which is held by two screws and spring contacts. The front camera can be simply removed if necessary, it is held on a ribbon cable.
The speaker on the iPhone 5 is screwed on firmly7. The last step with the front panel is to get rid of the metal protection.
The front panel loses its protection8. Let's move on to the body of the device. The first step is to get rid of the battery so as not to get an electric shock. Disconnect the ribbon cable from the board with a plastic spatula.
Disconnecting the battery from the motherboardWith the same tool we pry on the battery and pull on the label (it is absent in 5S, therefore we use only a spatula). If the battery doesn't give in the first time, don't be scared, it's glued. The glue is not very strong, so the battery will easily give in with a little more effort.
Getting rid of the energy source9. Disconnect the main camera in version 5. It is held by two screws, after removing them the camera is free. In 5S, she is in this state initially.
Cameras iPhone 5 (left) and 5S (right)10. The next step is to remove the motherboard. There is no difference between the iPhone 5 and 5S. Disconnect the antenna connector module from the motherboard. We unscrew the screws securing the board to the case and the contacts at the inner wall. We carefully take out the motherboard.
Motherboard attaches securely11. There is a processor on the motherboard: A6 for 5 and A7 for 5S. When disassembling for the first time, you will need to remove the protective film.
Remove the protective film and then the processor12. Let's continue to disassemble the case. In its lower part there is a headphone jack, a speaker, a Wi-Fi antenna (in version 5) and a lower microphone - all this is attached to the Lightning connector. We get rid of the mass of glue with a plastic spatula.
Removing the Lightning connector and everything that comes with itAll components of this connector can only be replaced when welded together and can be costly to break.
Lightning separate from iPhone13. At the top of the smartphone there is a vibration motor for a call, Wi-Fi and GPS antennas.
Remaining parts on the top of the case14. As a result, we get a disassembled phone. You can assemble your device back by following the same instructions in reverse order.
IPhone 5 fully disassembledThe 5S version looks like this:
IPhone 5S fully disassembled- You are solely responsible for assembling and disassembling the device. If in doubt that you will succeed, take it to the service center - the wizards will help.
- When disassembling the device yourself, remember the warranty period. After you open the case yourself, the warranty is automatically lost, subsequent repairs will take place at your expense.
- Do not spare funds for special tools: they will cost less than repairing or buying a new phone.
- Do not make any sudden movements, you can tear off the cable or break especially fragile parts of the iPhone by your inaccurate actions.
Video: how to disassemble iPhone 5S
When creating the iPhone 5 and 5S, Apple went to great lengths to make sure they couldn't be easily disassembled. This process will take a long time, but it is within the power of an ordinary person. If you are confident in yourself - you can try to disassemble the iPhone at home on your own, otherwise - take the device to a competent craftsman, he knows exactly what to do.
Step-by-step instructions with spare parts and necessary tools
The sixth line of Apple iPhone, which hit stores on September 12, 2012. Restoring this device, like previous models, requires screwdrivers and a special tool. Available in sizes 16, 32, or 64 GB / Black or White.
Gently place the unfolded suction cup on the bottom of the iPhone. It should be right in front of the Home button, but not over the edges of the screen.
Pressing the suction cup lightly against the iPhone, lift the second handle. With light movements to the left and right, we raise the screen module by 2-3mm.
Raise the screen completely to access the internal elements of the device.
Please note that you do not need to lift the upper part - there are cables of the screen and front camera, which can be damaged!
To remove the FPC connector cover, unscrew the following screws:
• Screw 1.2mm Phillips - 2 pcs.
• 1.6mm Phillips screw - 1 pc.
Disconnect three loops one by one:
• Front camera cable with proximity sensor
• LCD screen cable
• Loop of the touch-screen
• 1.8mm Phillips screw - 1 pc.
• 1.6mm Phillips screw - 1 pc.
These screws secure the battery cable holder to the iPhone. We remove the holder of the battery cable.

If the glass of the display is broken, then during the repair process it is important to prevent its further destruction (which, by the way, can lead to serious injuries). Cover the glass with duct tape.
Apply as many layers of transparent tape as needed. The display must be completely sealed.
Thus, the fragments will not go anywhere in the future, and the structural integrity will be preserved.
Wear protective goggles to protect your eyes from accidental contact with debris.
Before disassembling iPhone, make sure it is turned off and not connected to a charger.
Unscrew both 3.6mm Pentalobe screws next to the Lightning connector.
The next two slides are meant to show you how iSclack works, which is a great tool for opening iPhone 5. We recommend iSclack to anyone planning to do more than one fix. If you are not using iSclack, skip directly to step 5.
Open the suction cups by pulling the iSclack handles together.
Place your iPhone between the suction cups by sliding it into the plastic stop.
The top suction cup should be just above the Home button.
Bring the suction cups together by spreading the handles. Press the suction cups firmly against the front and back of your iPhone.
While holding iPhone, slide the iSclack handles back together. The front panel will pop out of the case.
The opening angle of the iSclack is specially selected so that the case and panel can be detached from each other without damaging the home button loop.
Detach the parts from the suction cups.
Go directly to step 7.
Attach the suction cup to the screen just above the Home button.
Make sure the suction cup is fully and firmly attached to the glass.
If the glass is broken, carefully glue a few strips of tape. When attaching the suction cup, be sure to expel any air bubbles. This will remove the screen and prevent further crack propagation on the glass.
Make sure the suction cup fits snugly on the front panel.
While holding iPhone with one hand, pull up on the suction cup to slightly separate the front bezel from the back of the case.
Take your time, apply even pressure. The display module is mounted much tighter than most devices.
With the plastic opening tool, begin to gently pull the back down away from the screen while pulling the suction cup upward.
The display attaches to the back of the case with plastic snaps, so you'll need to use a suction cup and a plastic pry tool to release the display module.
Continue to detach the latches to the left and right of the front panel.
When all the latches on the bottom, left and right have been detached, begin to separate the bottom of the display module from the bottom of the phone case.
Carefully position the module at approximately a 90 degree angle to the chassis.
Do not try to completely separate the front from the back, as some of the cables connect at the top of the iPhone. If done carelessly, you can damage them!
Remove the following screws securing the module ribbon cable to the board:
Two 1.2 mm Phillips (Phillips) screws
One 1.6 mm Phillips screw (Phillips)
Do not operate this screw with a magnetized screwdriver, do not lose the screw when opening and make sure to put it back in the correct place - the magnetized screw may interfere with the compass!
Disconnect the display module ribbon connector from the board.
Note: Make sure you pull down and pull the small mounts to the outside of the phone.
Use a plastic tool to disconnect the three front panel loops:
Front camera and sensor cable
Digital converter loop
When reassembling the phone, the display cable may move away from the connector. This will show up as white stripes or no picture on the display. If this happens, just reconnect the ribbon and reboot your phone. The best way to restart your phone is to disconnect and reconnect the battery.
Remove the two screws securing the metal battery connector bracket to the motherboard:
One Phillips 1.8mm (Philips)
One Phillips 1.6mm (Philips)
Remove the metal battery connector holder.
Using a plastic spatula, gently pry the battery connector away from its connector on the motherboard.
Be very careful to lift only the battery connector, not the connector. If you lift the motherboard connector, it will break.
Sometimes the battery can be removed by simply pulling on the plastic tab. Low sustained effort has worked well. If it didn't work, follow the instructions in this step.
Use a plastic spatula to gently pull the battery upward at only the three points shown. By using the tool at other points, you risk damaging the motherboard.
Use a dielectric spatula to pry the cellular antenna connector away from the motherboard (near the speaker).
Remove the two screws securing the top of the motherboard to the back cover:
One cross 1.5 mm (Phillips)
One cross 2.3 mm (Phillips)
Remove the hardware from the top of the motherboard.
Make sure not to damage the small grounding pad that is next to the rear camera.
On newer models, the mount may be attached to the camera body and not be removed completely.
Use a dielectric spudger to disconnect three loops from the motherboard:
Upper connecting cable
Bottom connecting cable
Remove the two 1.3 mm Phillips screws from the bottom of the inside of the chassis.
Remove one 1.2 mm Phillips screw from the center of the device.
Remove the center bracket from the motherboard.
Use a dielectric spatula to disconnect the Lightning connector from its connector on the motherboard.
Carefully slide the ribbon cable away from the motherboard.
Pull out the SIM card tray with a paper clip or special tool.
Remove the SIM card tray from the iPhone.
Remove the screws securing the motherboard to the case:
Two cross 2.3 mm (Phillips)
These screws have a Phillips bit pattern, but we found the best removal tool to be a 2.5 mm flathead driver.
One non-magnetic 2.7 mm standoff screw
These screws are similar to Phillips, but we recommend using a 2.5mm flat head screwdriver.
For ease of assembly, these screws can be installed using the sharp end of the dielectric blade.
Rotate the motherboard towards the battery compartment.
Do not try to remove the motherboard right away, it is connected with another ribbon cable.
If the flash remains on the motherboard, remove it with tweezers and replace it.
Note: when reassembling your device, be sure that the lower interconnect cable is not tucked underneath the logic board.
Using the sharp end of a dielectric spatula, carefully pry the Wi-Fi antenna connector off the bottom of the motherboard.
Remove the motherboard.
Outside the case, keep the motherboard on an anti-static mat to prevent damage to the motherboard.
Gently pull the speaker away from the Lightning connector ribbon cable.
If you are replacing your Lightning connector with a new one, transfer the rubber boot from the microphone to the new part. This can be done with a plastic spatula.
Carefully remove the grounding cable from the edge of the headphone jack.
Take care not to lose the plastic gasket between the headphone connector and the outer shell. While aligning the headphone connector, make sure to align this gasket correctly.
Remove the two screws securing the vibration motor holder:
Remove the vibration motor holder.
Remove the 1.6mm Phillips screw holding the vibration motor to the inside of the top case.
Remove the eight 1.3 mm Phillips screws securing the front panel clamps to the rear of the chassis.
Remove the four front panel clips.
Use the sharp end of a dielectric blade to remove the rubber bumper from under the power button.
Remove the screws between the flash and rear camera windows:
One 2.9mm standoff screw
This screw is similar to a Phillips screw, but we recommend using a 2.5mm flat head screwdriver
One 1.6mm Phillips screw
Remove one 1.9 mm Phillips screw (Philips) securing the power button holder to the chassis.
Remove the metal power button holder.
Use the sharp end of a dielectric blade to pry the metal holder away from the top of the case.
Press the outside of the power button with the pointed end of the spatula.
Use a plastic spatula to slide the power button holder up and to the left to release it from the metal locking tab.
Use the flat end of the spatula to pry up on the train to release it from the fixing adhesive.
Continue to pry on the ribbon near the volume control buttons.
If the spare part does not have a metal retainer, heat the old cable with a hair dryer, which will soften the adhesive and allow the retainer to be transferred to the spare cable.
Remove the 2.0 mm Phillips screw securing the SIM eject lever.
Remove the SIM eject lever.
Remained "bare" back of the case.

IPhone 5s users, after several years of active use of the device, sometimes try to disassemble it. At the same time, it is not enough to figure out how to remove the cover from the iPhone, you need to be able to navigate the "stuffing" of the device. How to disassemble iPhone 5S - one of the most popular versions of Apple mobile gadgets - see the step-by-step instructions below.
If you are wondering how to disassemble the iPhone 5 and change the case, you need to prepare special tools. Every home has its own set of miniature screwdrivers, but they won't work. Replacing the case on the iPhone 5, 6 and other versions of Apple gadgets requires the use of special tools that can be easily found in online stores. They are called so - kits for disassembling iPhones.
Replacing the iPhone 5S case will require the following 4 tools:
- Pentalob is a five-blade screwdriver.
- Phillips screwdriver.
- A vacuum suction cup
- A paddle made of plastic (or something similar).
In the iPhone 5, replacing the case is possible not only in a service center. You can easily iPhone 5 at home, however, like other, more advanced models - 6, 7.
IPhone 5C model disassembly, stages:
- The first step is to unscrew the screw at the bottom of the gadget case. Version 5 and higher devices use so-called five-blade bolts to prevent the user from disassembling the phone. Earlier models used Phillips screws.
So, you need to unscrew the two screws at the bottom of the phone panel. If you do not have a special screwdriver, you can use a flat tool, sharpening it on the sides. But keep in mind that unless you use tools specifically designed to disassemble your iPhone, the bolts may be combined. Therefore, before disassembling the device, stock up on additional cross-head bolts.
- Take the suction cup and lift the screen, gently using the spatula to help you. What is the scapula used for? In order not to damage the screen. So, for this purpose, you could use a screwdriver, in which case the chances of damaging the display would be increased.
- Carefully lift the screen from the side of the Home button.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver again and remove the two Bolts that secure the shield. Using a spatula, divide the body into 2 parts.
- Unscrew the Home button. And then remove it from the device.
- At the top of the smartphones, remove the camera, speaker and proximity sensor. But before doing this, you must carefully remove the mounting plate.
- Then you need to finish the parsing of the front panel by removing the metal protection.
- Now you can start disassembling the iPhone case. And the first step is to remove the battery so as not to expose yourself to the danger of electric shock. To do this, you need to disconnect the ribbon cable from the board. This is done using the same shovel.
Note that the battery is glued on and you need to make an effort to remove it from the phone. However, the battery glue is not strong, and even with light force the battery will come out of the case.
- Get out the camera. This is quite easy to do, since, unlike the previous smartphone from Apple, the camera is not attached to the body in any way.
- Remove the motherboard. To do this, unscrew the screws and contacts under the rear panel. Here you can see that the board is fastened quite tightly. But after unscrewing the bolts, it can be easily removed from the device.
- Remove the protective film from the processor and take it out.
- Get the Wi-Fi antenna, headphone jack, speaker out of the device. All parts are attached to the body with a sufficiently large amount of glue. To remove them, you need to carefully remove the sticky mass.
- Remove the remaining parts - a Wi-Fi antenna, a similar GPS device, a vibration motor for a call.
- That's it, the procedure called iPhone 5 disassembly, and the answer to the question of how to open the back cover, are completed. Having memorized this simple instruction, any user will be able to understand how the body is replaced in the iPhone 5s. You can assemble the case on the iPhone 5S by following the same instructions in reverse order. When you turn on the gadget after assembly, you will need to unlock the device by entering a password.
This is how a fully disassembled iPhone 5S looks like:
As you can see, disassembling the iPhone 5 with your own hands is not a very difficult task, feasible for everyone who knows at least a little about technology. Replacing the case on the iPhone 5, when it is necessary after its damage, which often happens after 2-3 years of use, can also be done by the owner of the gadget on his own. But if you are afraid of damaging some parts of the iPhone case or its internal elements, it is better not to risk removing the back panel and opening the "filling". Let the iPhone 5, 6 or another version of the gadget be replaced by a specialist in the service center.
If the replacement of the case on the iPhone 5 and later models - 6, 7, etc. is carried out not by the master, but by the user himself, all sorts of errors may occur that can disrupt the operation of the gadget. To avoid them, you need to familiarize yourself with the basic rules before disassembling the device.
In a situation where the iPhone 5C case will be replaced by the owner of the device, the following should be considered:
