We unscrew the wheel, jack the car very well, securing it by placing the wheel for insurance + also that thread is for safety reasons, since we will have to climb under it many times. We remove the wheel and what we see.
First of all, we unscrew the ABS sensor and the brake pipe.
I plugged the brake pipe using an old brake hose, placing a piece of rubber between them so that our brake fluid does not go away: I also plugged the caliper hose with an old hose too, but any plug would fit here, since here we need a plug just so that no sand gets in.
We unscrew the mount from the lever and put it all aside.

We jack up the lever with the second jack.
And we take out the shock absorber bolt.
We release the jack and the lever goes to the very bottom, and we remove the spring.

Lubricate with grease (personally, I drive grease into a syringe and grease from a syringe)
Press the inner cage onto a metal sleeve and insert it all into the lever.
And we cover all this with a boot with a metal washer.
The second side is assembled in the same way!

Lever installation sequence:
1. Put the lever back and clamp it with a bolt.

3. Jack up the lever and fasten the shock absorber.
4. We fasten the rod to the lever and the brake pipe mount, which also holds the parking brake cable

6. We hang back the muffler.
7. Put the wheel back and lower the car from the jack.

The cars supplied to Russia are equipped with six power units - three gasoline and three diesel. The smallest of the petrol engines is a 16-valve 1.6-liter engine with 103 hp. This "Arctic" version of the engine can even digest leaded (!) Gasoline.

True, all of the above power units have disadvantages. First, an excessive love for Selenia oil: 300 grams per thousand kilometers is considered the norm. Secondly, on cars equipped with air conditioning, there may be problems with the engine cooling system. In hot weather, the fan on such machines practically does not turn off. There are frequent cases of "walking" idle speed. You should also not delay the moment of replacing the timing belt: it may not withstand a run of 60 thousand kilometers.
All the same, with the exception of floating idle, applies to diesel engines. They are all turbocharged. The first two, with a volume of 1.9 liters, have a capacity of 75 and 100 hp. The latter - 2.4 liters - 124-strong. There are no particular complaints about them, except that sometimes excessive rigidity of idling may appear, and the oil consumption per thousand kilometers reaches 0.8 liters.
Transmission
Two types of gearboxes are installed on the car - a mechanical five-speed and an automatic four-speed. Serious problems during their operation do not arise, except that in the third year of life at the mechanical gearbox the wings may loosen and the gear selection will become indistinct. By the way, if you are still "lucky" to ditch the box, keep in mind that the number of their variations is equal to the number of installed engines - the gear ratios in all boxes are different. There are a little less options for the main pair - five.
The clutch service life on Fiat Marea is about 100 thousand km. Although, of course, there are unique people who can reduce this period to 40 thousand. Be aware that the clutch is not automatically adjusted and should therefore be checked periodically.
The situation is approximately the same with drives. Moreover, their service life also depends on the integrity of the rubber covers. If the situation is favorable, the CV joints can stand up to 150 thousand.

Steering
It is a rack-and-pinion mechanism that does not require periodic lubrication and adjustment. The hydraulic booster is standard. An interesting feature: cars equipped with different engines also have a different turning radius: from 5.35 to 5.7 meters. The number of revolutions of the steering wheel between the extreme points also varies: 3 turns - for versions 1.6, 1.8, 1.9 TD75 and 100; 2.9 revolutions - for a two-liter car; 2.8 - for 2.4 TD125.
