Hello everyone. I undertake to repair Gesha's box myself. My. My brother helps me because everyone who has seen the box knows that it is very heavy. I do not need advice, thank you, I have rich experience in repairing any mechanisms like this. And ask questions. Request for a message like “What are you! The box itself cannot be repaired, only in service! ” do not write because I hold a different opinion. Accordingly, I think that I am a very cool mechanic, so I'm not afraid of anything, but if you decide to disassemble this unit on your own, first read this report when it is completely ready and proportionate your strength. Someone will decide that this topic is the author's complacency. Yes, that is right.

Well, let's start. So. The box was removed from the car. How to do this There are already topics on this forum, check them out if necessary. Reason for repair: gearbox noise in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. Probable diagnosis - bearings are covered. There was enough oil in the box during disassembly, so it could not be the reason. The autopsy will show the rest.

I fix it at home because no city
Here is the box itself. She has unscrewed in a circle the bolts of the top cover (orientation on the photo) with a spanner wrench
12 and the bolts fastening the body of the box itself were also unscrewed, they used a spanner wrench for 14

Without top cover. The gears and mechanisms of presumably 5th gear are visible (at least in the boxes of other cars that I repaired this way). For further disassembly, these gears, the switching muffle and the fork must be removed from the box. under them are the bearings fixed in the housing. To do this, you need to unscrew those huge two nuts on the gears with a huge 36 head.

To fix the shafts (before tightening the nuts), you must simultaneously turn on the 3rd and 5th gears. We turn on the 3rd with the gearbox lever normally, and the 5th to turn it on, you need to knock out the fixing wheel from the 5th gear fork and press the fork down with your hand until the gear is engaged. I gently hammered the sleeve with a hammer and a 6mm bolt, it just fits neatly into the hole. Use the hammer carefully, tapping lightly. Knockout direction: outside towards the middle of the box. Those. the sleeve will slide out onto the gears.

Hyundai Elantra car

Hyundai Accent and Getz cars are equipped with A4AF-3 four-speed gearboxes. Hyundai produces its automatic transmissions independently, based on the developments of the Japanese concern Mitsubishi. This automatic transmission is produced for front-wheel drive cars of the middle class with an engine capacity of up to two liters.

To repair the automatic transmission, Hyundai Accent and Getz order cheap non-original repair kits for oil seals and gaskets. The automatic transmission filter Hyundai Accent and Getz is disposable, made of felt, must be replaced with each oil change or if any repairs have been made.

Quite often, bushings on the Hyundai Accent and Getz automatic transmissions fail, especially the pump bushing. If at least one bushing is found to be worn, it makes sense to replace them with a set, they live for about the same time. The bushings of the Hyundai Accent and Getz automatic transmission in some places (especially on the drums) have a peculiarity to turn and grind, which causes oil to escape and a whole range of problems and breakdowns is observed.

In most cases, on the Hyundai Accent and Getz automatic transmissions, the clutches of the front gear package are the first to light up. The clutches are changed as a set. If the car arrives before the overhaul period, it also makes sense to replace them.

In the Overdrive package of the Hyundai Accent and Getz automatic transmission, bearings sometimes break from vibrations and excessive lateral loads.

The solenoids of the automatic transmission Hyundai Accent and Getz live up to seven years. If at least one of them fails, they are replaced with a set, their lifespan is approximately the same. Problems with their wiring are often observed. Usually, such a situation is diagnosed by the abnormal operation of the third gear and periodic errors on the dashboard.

In general, this box is quite reliable and durable, but it is not at all designed for overloads and overheating.

The Hyundai Solaris IX35 is equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission A4CF2. This automatic transmission is designed for cars with front-wheel drive and a volume of up to two liters.

The weakest point of the Solaris IX35 automatic transmission is the valve body and solenoids. Solenoids are overloaded and don't last long. Often they fail after 5 years of operation of the Solaris IX35. And they really dislike dirty oil.

The solenoid-solenoid valve usually fails first. The wiring of the solenoids of the Solaris IX35 automatic transmission is not very high quality and can become a source of problems, the loops are often changed.

Problems with the pump are quite common. When operating the Solaris IX35 automatic transmission with a leaking pump oil seal, the automatic transmission may be left without oil and completely die.

The oil in the Hyundai Solaris IX35 gets dirty very quickly. This is due to a poor cooling system and aggressive wear of the torque converter lock of the Solaris IX35 automatic transmission. The oil contaminated with the degradation products of the blocking acquires abrasive properties and begins to abrade the interior of the box. The valve body is especially affected. After its channels are eaten, problems with pressure begin in the boxes, the clutches are on fire.

Hyundai Elantra and Sonata cars were equipped with four-speed F4A41. This automatic transmission is designed for front-wheel drive cars of the middle class with engines up to 2.8 liters. These transmissions were heavily influenced by Chrysler developments and are very reliable and durable.

Repair kits for automatic transmissions Hyundai Elantra and Sonata are suitable for almost all cars with this automatic transmission family.

This automatic transmission is immediately equipped with an additional external filter to better combat overheating and dirty oil, due to which in the first generations of the Hyundai Elantra and Sonata automatic transmissions, the valve body and the solenoid quickly failed. If there is no filter on the automatic transmission, you can find a set of adapters for installation on sale. There is also a kit for installing an additional cooling radiator.

The weakest point in the automatic transmission of the Hyundai Elantra and Sonata is the planetary gear set of the Overdrive package. The needle bearing is subject to unnecessary stress and breaks, causing rapid failure of the rear planetary gear set and ring gear. This unit has already been modified several times, so it is worth clarifying the year of manufacture of the box when ordering spare parts.

Friction clutches and steel discs are consumables for Hyundai Elantra and Sonata.

Next, in terms of the popularity of automatic transmission repair cases, the Hyundai Elantra and Sonata are followed by solenoids. They are changed as a set.

The hydraulic block of the Hyundai Elantra and Sonata does not like dirty oil very much, its valves quickly wear out and become dirty, which leads to the combustion of some clutch packs.

The Hyundai Tussan car is equipped with a five-speed automatic A5GF1. Its design is based on the automatic transmission of the F4A51 model. This automatic transmission is installed on front- and all-wheel drive vehicles with engines up to three and a half liters.

The weak point of the Hyundai Tussan automatic transmission is the oil pump. It often breaks down when operating a car with a worn out clutch torque converter. The pump bushing and its oil seal fail a little earlier and usually begin to leak.

The planetary gear set, the output front and the sun gear are laid clearly weak and cannot withstand the load. They are rarely repaired - they just crumble during disassembly, if Tussan skated before overhaul.

Brake band and drum with sun gear, differential housing in third place for repairs on Hyundai Tussan automatic transmission.

DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON REPAINING!
Now you yourself can remove any scratch from the body of your car in just 5 seconds.

The valve body and solenoids are quite reliable. Sometimes the speed sensors of the input and output shafts fly.

Subject to the basic requirements and rules of operation, any automatic transmission can survive at least up to 200,000 kilometers. This is followed by a major overhaul, after which the box will travel the same amount. For proper operation, it is enough to change the oil and filter in time, monitor its level and avoid extreme loads on the automatic transmission. In winter, ride on a warm box, do not slip in mud or snow, accelerate and start the place smoothly, avoiding high revs. If the car is operated in a hot climate and constant traffic jams, it is recommended to install an additional cooling radiator on the automatic transmission.

If a trouble still happened and the box began to work in an abnormal mode or began to frighten with loud noise or jerks, then you should immediately go to the diagnosis. Driving on a faulty automatic transmission will only aggravate the situation, multiplying the already considerable amount of repairs.

Repair of automatic transmission of a Hyundai car in a car service

To repair transmissions with your own hands, you will need a warm box with a lift or a pit, a comprehensive technical manual for the automatic transmission being repaired, a set of all the necessary tools, knowledge and experience. If at least one of these points is missing, then it is better to transfer this matter into the hands of experienced specialists. The prices for automatic transmission repairs are so high precisely because of the complexity of the work: removal and installation of the automatic transmission, for which you need to disassemble half of the car, diagnostics of the condition of the components and an electrician, and which can only be done by an experienced professional.
