Removing the gearshift drive from the vehicle:

1. Alternately changes the bushings of the drive hinges - removes the retaining ring with pliers, and disconnect the connection; remove the old bushing and install a new one on the hinge; we press the eyelet onto the sleeve until a groove for the retaining ring appears (photo 9).
2. We change the plastic triangle of the drive (its replacement is very important, since it is always significantly worked out, see photo 10) - we grind the riveted end of the axle, knock it out and install new parts - the triangle and the axle; rivet the end of the new axle (photo 11).
3. And the easiest. We change the bushings and rubber bands on the drive lever itself (photo 12).
Now, as they say, we install the finished product on the car. But we do not tighten the collar connecting the shaft and the gearshift drive.
We are getting ready to adjust the drive and gearshift backstage on Daewoo Nexia (Daewoo Nexia), Daewoo Lanos (Daewoo Lanos), Chevrolet Lanos (Chevrolet Lanos) cars.
1. Set the box to the neutral position. We find on the gearbox mechanism, the plug of the adjusting hole (photo 13). And we pull it out (photo 14).
In its place we insert a drill with a diameter of 5 mm and slowly turning the switching shaft, we feel for the fixing hole (photo 15).
2. After that, we climb into the salon and …. "Lanosovody" simply remove the cover from the gearshift backstage, but the owners of the Nexia are engaged in a small disassembly of the cabin (photos 16 and 17). After that, we find the adjustment holes on the casing and the wings. We combine them and fix them with a second drill (photo 18).
3. When everything is fixed with us, you can tighten the clamp connecting the shaft and the gear shift drive.
4. We take out the drills, install the plug and check how the gears change.
If everything is done correctly, then additional adjustment is no longer required. Transfers will be all "in place". True, the wings will be a little tight, but as practice shows, this is not for a long time, for the first 3-4 days.

I began to notice that lately, on cars Daewoo Lanos and Daewoo Nexia after repair or complete replacement and final adjustment of the gear shift drive, after a certain time, these very transmissions begin to be lost again. You check, everything is fine, all the details are in place. You do a re-adjustment, after which there are no problems with the gears. But, not for long. A day or two, and again the transmissions fled.I had to look for a problem that lay in the backstage clamp and economical Chinese manufacturers.
In the original gear shift drives drive shaft diameter is 13.6mm, and on Chinese products, the shaft diameter varies from 12.5 to 12.9 mm. Plus, to this, the threads on the bolt and the clamp were covered with rust, which also prevented the tightening of the clamp from being used to the end. And these two factors, combined, became the reason why the adjustment of the drive was constantly lost. The way out of this situation is simple - we remove the clamp and, using a tap, and a die (8 * 1mm), drive the threads. Install the clamp and tighten the bolt. Mission Complete! Transmissions are no longer lost)))
Therefore, I recommend to all motorists, after repair and especially after replacing the gearshift drive, remove the clamp and drive the threads. This idea will not take much time, but it will allow you to avoid unpleasant surprises.

13. We adjust the gearshift mechanism from under the hood. We remove the plug from the gearbox cover and insert a drill with a diameter of 4 (mm) there, turn the hinge until the drill enters the shaft hole, thereby fixing the link for further adjustment.
14. We go into the salon, remove the casing on the gearshift lever and install the shank from the drill with a diameter of 5 (mm) into the backstage hole. To do this, we are looking for a position when the lever hole coincides with the adjusting hole of the backstage.
15. Tighten the clamp connecting the backstage and the drive.
16. We remove all the drills, put the plug in place and install the gearshift lever cover.
17. We are doing a test drive.

The lever will cost the most. It is noteworthy that the replacement can be carried out from above, that is, it is completely optional to remove the crankcase protection. We start by freeing the helicopter from absolutely all fasteners. After that, we take out the finger connecting the link and the gearbox fork. The latch is located at the bottom of the fork and pulling it out of place can be difficult, but still possible.
Then it will be possible to remove the backstage mount and pull it out of the engine compartment. We proceed to remove the cover of the box and replace the plug. After removal, we wipe the landing pad of the gearbox housing, clean the gasket and put the cover in its original place. It's best to change the gasket. As soon as the cover is put in place, it is necessary to check whether the fork rotates and moves correctly. Everything is fine with me at this stage, which means it's time to install the backstage itself.
The adjustment is simple. Here we need only two drills, each with a diameter of 5-5.5 millimeters. In general, it is better, of course, to buy four drills at once: a pair with a diameter of 5 millimeters and a pair with a diameter of 5.5 millimeters. The work is done and it's time to reap the fruits of your labor. The shift box has become noticeably clearer, there is no more backlash and the speeds are stuck easily.
The most important thing is that it is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance, so do not rush to go to a car service, there you will have to pay much more, otherwise you will save money and experience will appear. With the Lanos transmission box, the issue is closed, you can already move on to repairing the suspension, but that's another story.

6. Remove the front piece of the floor tunnel lining (see "Dismantling and installation of the floor tunnel lining").

Do-it-yourself backstage repair
I will tell you the easiest way to repair the gearshift backstage on VAZ cars. It's nice to drive a car when it's new and the wings don't hang out. But when the car is used, the backstage is usually loose, and in order to turn on the reverse gear you have to press it into the seat, and when you turn on the fifth speed, hit the passenger on the thigh with your hand, but women can be pleased with such attention from the driver, and the driver becomes ashamed that so much dangling backstage speeds.
The backstage loosens due to the wear of the lever axis, and the holes in the gearshift drive rod are broken, but plastic bushings usually last a long time.
The backstage can be repaired by yourself without even disconnecting from the gearbox.
To do this, you need to remove the cover from the gear lever, and you can remove the socket.
The easiest way is to replace the lever axle with an M10 bolt and tighten it with a nut, adjust the nut so that it is not too tight and allows the speed lever to move without dangling. Lock the first nut with the second nut so that it does not arbitrarily unscrew. Even if the hole in the gearshift linkage is broken, the bolt tightens, and there will be a millimeter backlash back and forth at most.

Adjusting the backstage itself is easy.
To adjust the backstage, turn on the reverse or fifth gear, whichever is easier at the moment. Loosen the nut on the link, it is shown in the photo, and put the speed lever in the position you need, if the fifth speed is in the position of the fifth speed lever. And if the reverse speed is in the position of the reverse speed lever, and push deeper forward so that the rocker sits well on the gearshift hinge. And if there is an assistant, then even better, let him hold the lever in the desired position, tighten the backstage nut.
