I will tell you the easiest way to repair the gear shift on VAZ cars. It's nice to drive a car when it is new and the wings are not loose. The rocker arm loosens due to the fact that the lever axle wears out and the holes in the gear shift rod break, but plastic bushings usually last a long time.
The wings can be repaired by yourself without even disconnecting from the gearbox.
To do this, you need to remove the cover from the gear shift knob, and you can remove the socket.
The easiest way is, replace the lever axis with an m10 bolt and tighten it with a nut, adjust the nut so that it is not very tight and allows the speed lever to move without dangling. Use the second nut to lock the first nut so that it does not unscrew randomly. Even if a hole in the gear shift rod is broken, the bolt tightens, and the most there will be a millimeter back and forth backlash.

EXPLANATION! The essence of this procedure is that the reduction in travel is achieved by changing the length of the pressure lever. The action we have taken is aimed at reducing the shift lever from our side, by increasing it from the box side.

If you have purchased a ready-made unit, but do not know how to change the stage on a VAZ 2114, you just need to perform the following steps one by one:
Remove the decorative cover.
We put the car on a pit or raise it on a jack.

In order for the standard rocker to become short-stroke, you just need to raise the hardware of the "piece of iron", which moves away from the checkpoint towards the lever. Work of this nature is carried out when oil leaks begin in the gearbox. The oil seal is replaced in two ways. The first involves removing the gearbox, the second is simpler, but requires more responsibility and attention. But before you start repairing, you should make sure that the problem lies precisely in the oil seal.
A symptom such as the appearance of oil traces on the asphalt after a long parking of the car indicates that the gearbox is starting to malfunction. But in this case, the problem may lie not only in the oil seal, but also in the filter, so you should first check it.
It so happens that the filter is just not securely fastened, and therefore leaks. You just need to tweak it, and the problem will be solved. A malfunction of the oil seal can be identified by a specific crunch during gear shifting. To replace a part, you will need the following set of tools:

Further, the installation depends on which stage was chosen for replacement - standard from VAZ 2109-2114 or from Kalina. After installing the standard QC and gimbal from the backstage, the part may not fit into the seat. You can fix this with a grinder;
The size of the universal joint is best determined by the standard element. After the adjustment, it is necessary to check whether the short-stroke arm is not beating against the body. If everything is installed correctly, then you need to tighten the clamp;
The next step is to adjust the new part, which is done at reverse speed. It is necessary to shift the box into reverse gear and put the lever in the R-gear position. It is best to place the lever closer to the driver's seat. Done, the replacement is complete, now the tuning can be checked on the road.
Now you can safely remove the remaining two bolts in the lower link of the stage
It is worth making the backstage yourself if you have experience in repairing and upgrading car parts. A well-made short-stroke stage will work no worse than a node from Lada Kalina. For manufacturing, you will need the following elements:
RPP from VAZ 2114.
Axle and bushings from 2114 (included in the gearbox repair kit).
A tube with a diameter of 15 millimeters.
Ball nut.
Cardan from Lada Kalina.
The first step is to cut the ball from the ballast, the lower edge of which must be cleaned under the pipe. Next, you need to weld on a 15 mm pipe. A regular nut should be welded to its lower edge, and a ball nut should be welded to it. The cardan from Kalina must be attached to the gearshift lever. Parts such as bushings and an axle are simply replaced with new ones from the VAZ 2114 (it is desirable that they be new).
