This problem is also not uncommon. The sash can be skewed due to a violation of window adjustments, shrinkage of the building. You may well be able to return the structure to its normal position. You will need to purchase a 4 key, with which you can adjust the hinges; you need to start from the bottom. Open the window; depending on the direction of the skew, the sash will need to be raised or lowered. To do this, remove the cover and use the hex key; the hinge has a special groove. Turning the tool clockwise will raise the structure up, and in the opposite direction will lower it.
If the sash is offset to the side, it can also be replaced by adjusting the lower hinge. The groove for this is at the bottom. You will need to use the same key. To turn the sash to the right, you need to move the key counterclockwise; to the left, respectively, vice versa.
The top of any window is adjustable. To do this, you need to find the element located in the highest part of the sash, while it is desirable to open it. The adjusting element is located in a special slot, which you need to look for as close to the hinges as possible. Using a key, the sash is adjusted by shifting to the left or right side.
As you can see, many operations with a window can be done by hand, but if you doubt your skills, you can use the help of a specialist, but his services are usually quite expensive.

A plastic window is an extremely stable and very reliable thing, but at the same time the mechanism is quite fragile, and problems still exist. They can be associated with careless use, with the shrinkage of the house, with the fact that the debris accumulated in them interferes with the normal operation of the mechanisms. Yes, one thing, how many times and with what force we open and close the windows, already prepares us for the upcoming breakdowns. The good news is that almost all of these problems are the same and can be eliminated without any special preparation. Let's try to understand this simple mechanism and learn how to repair the mechanism of plastic windows with our own hands.
To deal with certain whims of the window, you will need the very minimum of adaptations that are available to every owner and almost every hostess:
screwdrivers (both flat and Phillips);
a set of "stars" (screwdriver attachments);
a hexagon (necessarily 4 mm, it is also a furniture key, you can usually get it in any cyclist's repair kit).
Less often, you may need WD-40 aerosol, but more on that later.
To understand how to repair a plastic window, you need to know how it works. Almost any plastic window inserted in an average apartment has three levels (or planes) of adjustment. This, first of all, makes it possible to be the window part itself in the optimal (tightly pressed and not skewed) position to the frame, plus it provides a reliable abutment to the seal. All the "magic" is in the loops. The lower hinge is responsible for the vertical position of the sash and the lower vertical angle; the upper part of the sash is responsible for adjusting the upper hinge; the clamping force directly depends on the eccentrics. That's all the tricks.
The main problem here is the well-known displacement of the mechanism, which does not allow the sash to open and close correctly, or do it at the right angle. This is the so-called "sagging", due to which the window touches the frame and, in the end, may simply stop closing at all.
In this case, we are interested in window canopies. We do not take into account the lower one, here it does not play any role. It is necessary to open the window and at the very top of the window find two screws, adjustable with a hexagon. The lower one is slightly weakened, and we work with the upper one: with the help of a hexagon we turn it back and forth until it gets into the desired position.
The problem of repairing the handle of a plastic window is the most frequent and usually the first thing that worries the happy owners of a plastic window. For example, the handle is loose and, as a result, does not close as it should. It seems like there is nothing to approach: neither you bolts, nor you springs - almost a monolithic contraption. It was not so: the plate at the very base of the handle rotates, and already under it there are just two screws.
The screws are under the plastic panel
If the handle just dangles, tighten the bolts; if the handle is broken and cannot be restored, we simply replace it with a new one and use it. You can buy such a handle at every construction market or from dealers and sellers of plastic windows. In a word, one of the few problems that can be solved without the help of a specialist.
Another problem: the handle may just stick. If it feels “tight”, roll it up, remove dust and debris, and spray with WD-40 spray.
Before you start fixing something, you need to know if it needs fixing. We close the window and use a lighter to reveal the presence of "see-through" areas. If the flame flutters, let's get down to business. If you look at the window sash from the end, you can see three oval (most often) eccentrics. Try to twist the window handle - and you will see that the eccentrics "work". So, they need to be twisted, but quite a bit, often a couple of millimeters is enough. Plus, there will be a reserve for a few more twists: do not forget that the seal also wears out. And, most importantly, do it so that the eccentrics are strictly in one position. To work with them, you will need either pliers or a hexagon. It is very useful that the eccentrics themselves have certain marks: if you see that they are "looking" at the street, you need to press harder, but if the lines are directed into the house, the clamp is very good.
Setting the pressure mechanism
Now let's look at different types of adjustments that have their own significant differences. In order to move the frame to some extent or get rid of the bevel, it is precisely the horizontal adjustment that is necessary.
It is carried out as follows: a hexagon is alternately inserted into the upper and lower loop (there are special holes there). When you start turning the hexagon clockwise, the window will rise noticeably. When you rotate in the opposite direction, that is, counterclockwise, you will see that the window, on the contrary, is lowered. This procedure must be done strictly with an open window and move the sash no more than 2 mm, so as not to "drag" the mechanism and not damage it.
Windows made of metal-plastic can be adjusted using the lower hinge. In this case, vertical adjustment is used. It is necessary to remove the plug and open access for the hexagon, then turn it clockwise. As you can see, there are no difficulties here either.
I would like to briefly describe the principle of ventilation at plastic windows.90% of such windows do not provide for the good old vents, but they have a ventilation mode that everyone loves. For three seasons, this mode pleases, and on the fourth - frosty - a person finds himself in a difficult situation: either freezing or not airing at all. If you are not a lucky owner of a plastic window with self-ventilation, you can use a comb, which will one hundred percent perform the function of a ventilation regulator (and it costs a penny). Such a simple device is suitable for almost every plastic window and has 4 modes (or rather, 4 "arches" for adjusting the air flow into the room).
One of the less common, but occurring problems - the need to replace the glass unit. Here you need to clearly understand what you have to do, and, accordingly, be aware of what mistakes will lead to. If you are not sure, contact the experts on the issue.
Changing a glass unit requires skills
So, we take an ordinary metal spatula and a rubber mallet. We remove all the glazing beads (insert a spatula into the gap between the glass unit and the frame, lightly hit it, repeat the procedure). Having freed the glass in such a way, we take it out. You only need to do this together, because it is much heavier than it seems. Next, we measure the dimensions of the glass, order it, meet it with a courier. The next step is to install the straightening plates (it is important to remember that if the sash of the window is hinged, we indent at the corners of 10 cm.) We fix the new glass in its rightful place, see that it is in a geometrically correct (even) position and fix it with glazing beads. If you strictly follow all the instructions, everything should go without a hitch.
And the last - not uncommon - phenomenon: the sash opens simultaneously in two directions: immediately in the swing and in the tilt mode. Almost everyone has encountered this. It is necessary to make sure that the upper flap is firmly pressed. To do this, we put it vertically (naturally, leaving it open). The handle at this moment should be in the "open" position, that is, in a horizontal position.
The sash opens simultaneously in two directions
Close the window and carefully turn the handle down. Gently and slowly "try" the handle: turn it up and down. If everything is in order, it means that everything worked in the same mode and the problem is solved.
So, PVC windows are a level of comfort that is already familiar to many, but manufacturers of plastic windows often do not tell users about the possibilities of self-repair and adjustment. The reason for this is quite understandable: in 2-3 years, or even less, the user will come to choose and install a new PVC window. But in essence, do-it-yourself pvc window repair is an intuitive and quite simple mission, the main thing is not to overdo it, not to overdo it and make sure that the repair is carried out exactly where it is needed, that is, go away from the problem.
In case you are not confident in your abilities, just contact the company where the windows were installed, perhaps the specialists will help you at a reasonable price and with knowledge of the matter, and maybe even under a guarantee (if its term has not expired).
It would seem that plastic windows entered our life with you quite recently, but, as it turned out, they do not serve people forever (or at least a couple of decades) without repair. And since calling the master because of a small problem (the window does not close or the mechanism breaks down) ends up being quite costly, many owners prefer to repair plastic windows, so to speak, at home.
The fittings may differ depending on the manufacturer's brand. Now we will consider one of the options for repairing plastic windows, when at the end of the open sash of your window you see a metal "tongue" located at a slight angle.
The most common situation faced by one in five is the sagging of the sash, as a result of which it begins to touch the bottom of the sash.To fix this problem, you need a hexagon of the correct size. We start repairing:
Sagging sash adjustment We open the sagging sash.
At the end of the window (where the upper hinge is) we find a hole for a hexagon.
We insert the hexagon into this hole and turn it towards ourselves (by a quarter or half a turn) - this movement will slightly raise the outer edge of the sash.
We close and check whether it has stopped clinging to the bottom edge of the window. If there is still slack, we repeat the process (that is, we turn the hexagon another half turn).
Checking the result.
If the window still does not close easily enough without touching the bottom, you should raise it a little more, but already in the hinge.
Remove the protective plastic cap from the lower hinge (with the sash closed).
We insert a hexagon into the loop from above (strictly vertically).
We turn the hexagon clockwise (half a turn or a whole turn).
We check the cleanliness of the closure. If the bottom edge still clings, repeat the last step again.
If the sash, when trying to close it, touches the central vertical part of the window sash:
We open the window.
At the bottom of the bottom hinge of the window sash (look from the side of the end) we find a hole for a hexagon.
We turn the hexagon to one side or the other, thus moving the bottom of the sash to the left or right to the position we need.
If necessary, we adjust the upper part in the same way (through the upper loop).
Repair of a loose sash
The elimination of a not very tight fit of the sash also applies to the repair of plastic windows, which is easy to do on your own:
Adjustment of plastic window fittings Open the window.
Find the "clamps" on the vertical end - metal protrusions of a slightly oval shape.
Take your pliers and gently rotate the clamp:
if you put it horizontally, then it will be the most snug fit,
the vertical position of the "oval" - the minimum tight fit.
By turning the clamp to the angle you want, check if you think the sash is tight enough. You can adjust the hold-down in winter (setting it to the closest fit) and summer (allowing a little air circulation through the fit by setting the hold-down vertically).
Sash adjustment
You can also adjust the fit of the sash using the hexagon and T-bar located on the window pillar.
How to press the sash to the frame
If it blows in the place of the overhang of the lower loop:
Remove the plastic cap from the hinge (with the window closed).
At the bottom of the hinge, find a small star hole (marked “T”).
Take the appropriate screwdriver bit, insert it into the hole and turn it clockwise a little (this will press the flap against the binding).
Carefully rotate the decorative plate at the base (you will see two bolts underneath).
Unscrew the bolts, remove the old handle and replace with a new one.
If the handle does not turn
The reason that the handle stops turning when the window is closed or that a certain force has to be applied to perform this action is the displacement of the turning "tongue" located at the end of the sash relative to its "response" (on the window frame). In this case, you will have to adjust the position (the adjustment methods have been described above) so that the "tongue" when closing the window rests against its "response".
If the handle does not turn when the sash is open, then you just need to press the “tongue” with your finger, pressing it into a vertical position.
But in the case when a glass unit needs to be replaced, and especially if your window is at a sufficient height from ground level (on the second or higher floors of a multi-storey building), it is not recommended to carry out repairs on your own. This is exactly the situation when you should contact the service center and entrust the solution to the problem to professionals.
If your handle is stuck open, do not be alarmed. As a rule, this is caused by the activation of the blocker. It is installed on window fittings in order to prevent the window from breaking. When the handle is turned to the tilt-and-tilt or tilt position, a locking device is triggered, so that the handle does not rotate. But due to malfunctions of this device, the window may not close or open. Before turning off the locking mechanism, you must determine the brand of the fittings.
To disable the locking mechanism, you need to set the sash to the vertical position. If it is in the tilt-and-turn position, then the locking mechanism installed on the upper hinge will also prevent the handle from turning. A metal plate with a spring is located in the area of the handle. Press it against the seal with your fingers, and then turn it.
There is a metal plate under the handle. It sticks out at an angle in relation to the frame. To rotate the handle, press on the plate, after which it will stand in a position parallel to the sash.
If the window has not closed, then check if the locking mechanism is in contact with the counterpart located on the frame.
With thermal expansion of window frames, the blocker can slip. To remove the malfunction, you should find a counterpart on the frame, to which the locking mechanism clings to when working properly. Remove the screws that secure this element. Place a plastic backing underneath it. You can also use a lining made from some other material. Then tighten the screws. Thus, the blocker will again engage with the mating element.
Over time, the sealing gum on the sash loses volume, as a result of which cracks form in the windows, leading to heat loss and deterioration of sound insulation in the house / apartment. It may seem that the best solution to the problem would be to replace the seal. But in fact, the tracking force can be increased without these actions.
Change the tension of the pressure mechanism twice a year. This is due to the low and high temperatures during the cold / warm season. Thus, the stress in the work of the fittings will decrease, which will increase the operational life of the rubber gasket.
Special cylinders are installed at the end of the sash. They are located in the slots of the metal plugs. They are called eccentrics or pins. Mating elements / hooks are installed on the frame, into which the eccentrics / pins enter in the process of turning the handle, as a result of which the sash is tightly pressed against the frame. The tension of the clamping mechanism is adjusted by moving the counter hooks or by scrolling the eccentrics / pins.
Clamping mechanism
To adjust the sash closing, turn the protruding part of the trunnion towards the inside of the window. So, there is a weakening of the work of the clamping mechanism. Opposite actions will lead to an increase in this action.
The way to adjust the eccentric may differ depending on the manufacturer of the fittings:
The trunnion has a slot that can be turned with a flat screwdriver.
The eccentric is scrolled with pliers from the end surface. If you have enough strength, then you can do it with your hands.
Adjustment must be carried out carefully so as not to damage the trunnion mounting mechanism.
If the cylinders at the end cannot be adjusted, then change the position of the counterpart / hook. It is mounted on two hexagon socket head bolts. If you loosen the bolts, you can move the hook slightly towards the room, which will reduce the pressure, or towards the street, which will strengthen it.
Fittings adjustment
After weakening / strengthening the clamping device, you can go to the awnings. Consider windows with a fanlight system that allows you to open the window in ventilation mode. In this case, to adjust the clamp, you need to remove the plastic cap of the casing from the lower canopy. On the canopy, you will see two hex bolts and feel for one hidden bolt. With their help, you can change the position of the sash in relation to the frame.
To adjust the frame hold-down you will need to adjust the bolt extending perpendicular to the plane of the window. It is best to configure it when the window is closed. To strengthen the clamping mechanism, turn it clockwise and vice versa.
If the upper part is fixed not to the canopy, but to the structure - scissors, then to access the adjusting bolts you need to open it.
On the side end on the handle side there is a lock lever / clip. Press on it and turn the knob in parallel, setting it to the ventilation mode. The sash will hold onto the lower canopy and the scissor mechanism because it will come out of the groove at the top corner. This will allow you to reach the head, allowing you to adjust the pressure on the top. In the normal position, the mechanism comes to the end. It is located on the underside of the arm that holds the sash. Turn the bolt slightly. The adjustment is carried out in the same way as for the pins. This sequence is described above.

Good and high-quality plastic windows from a reputable manufacturer, which are installed in compliance with the technology and observance of all the necessary subtleties, will serve for many years without causing any trouble to the owners. But it happens that suddenly it began to blow from somewhere, the handle broke, the seal has dried out, or the handle is simply jammed. In such situations, repairing plastic windows with your own hands will only take a few minutes. However, before you start reading, you can dispel some myths about plastic windows.
Warranty repair and maintenance of plastic windows is carried out if the warranty is provided by the manufacturer or installer. On average, the warranty is 2 years. In the event that a breakdown occurs at the end of the warranty, repairs will have to be paid. The information below will save you money on window repairs and calling a repairman. An article on self-measurement of plastic windows may also be useful.
If the handle suddenly breaks, looses or cracks, or, for example, you decide to install an opening limiter or a new lock handle so that the child cannot open the window, it is not at all necessary to involve outside specialists. You can do everything yourself, you just need to buy a new pen in any hardware store and install it yourself.
We start by turning the decorative plate at the base of the handle 90 degrees. Below it are two screws that secure the handle, top and bottom. Unscrew it with a screwdriver and take it out. We remove the old handle. We put on a new handle and fix it with the same screws. In the event that there is a desire to put the opening limiter, then before installing the new handle, you need to insert the ventilation regulator plate into its base, and then put the handle in the usual sequence, as described above.
As you can see, everything is elementary. If possible, then it is better to do it yourself, because such a repair of plastic windows will cost you at least the cost of a handle. Why pay for such a simple operation?
If the handle is jammed in the open position of the window, then you should not be alarmed at all. Most likely, the blocker was activated.Bollards are mounted on most fittings in order not to accidentally break the window. At the moment when the handle is turned into the tilt or swing-out position, the lock is triggered so that the handle does not turn. But it so happens that it does not work on time. Very often this happens due to the fact that the handle was moved too quickly from one position to another. In order to turn off the blocker, first of all, you need to decide on the brand of accessories.
AUBI fittings: If fitted, the sash must be in a vertical position. If it is in the tilt and turn, then the lock on the upper hinge will interfere with the rotation of the handle. Near the handle you need to find a metal plate with a spring. Then you need to press it against the seal and turn the handle.
Fittings "Roto", "GU", "Winkhaus", "Maco": if you have such fittings, you need to find a metal tongue under the handle, it must stick out at a certain angle to the frame. Next, you need to push this tongue so that it becomes parallel to the sash, and turn the handle.
If these operations did not help, then it is necessary to check whether the blocker touches the response mechanism on the frame. It may happen that during thermal expansion, the blocker can slip by. In this case, to eliminate it, you need to open a window and find a response element on the frame, to which the blocker clings. Then you need to unscrew the screws that secure it, and put something between the frame and the counterpart, for example, a plastic lining. Thus, it is possible to ensure that the blocker engages the response mechanism on the frame.
The reason for problems with turning the handle may be that the sash is loose or the grease in the fittings has dried out. First you need to visually inspect if there is sagging. If there is, then you need to adjust the sash as described earlier. If no sagging is noticed, then, accordingly, the matter is in the lubrication. In fact, the system of fittings for a metal-plastic window is quite complex. Management, in practice, with one handle is achieved by a large number of mechanisms. Uninterrupted and high-quality operation of these mechanisms is ensured by regular care of the fittings and good lubrication. Therefore, it is necessary to purchase a universal penetrating grease or special grease specifically for plastic window fittings and lubricate all existing moving elements. If, after these procedures, the handle continues to move badly, then in this case it is still worth calling the master.
If you have a similar situation, then in the first place you should not panic. It is clear that the sash is heavy, but still. It is necessary to transfer it to the rotary mode, that is, to put it in a vertical position, so that the upper loop is pressed.
The sash must remain open during this action. After that, you need to move the handle to a horizontal position. If the blocker does not allow it, then you need to disable it as described earlier. Then you need to close the sash and turn the handle down. In order to check the result, you need to slowly turn the knob to different positions. Everything should work.
If you notice that there is a draft from under the seal, then you need to perform the following operations. The first thing to do is to press the sash harder against the frame. The instructions for pressing the sash to the frame were described above. It is necessary to pay attention to the position of the trunnions and striking plates for their correspondence to each other.
It may well be that the pins do not go behind the counterparts. In this case, it is necessary to rearrange the strips: unscrew the fastening screws and rearrange them slightly lower. If these manipulations do not help, then the reason is something else and it is worth contacting the master.
If the draft comes from the side of the hinges, then you can try to press the sash against the frame in this place. For this, there is a hole in the lower hinge. You need to insert the nozzle into it and turn it.
On the hinge at the top, the sash pull-up mechanism is located on scissors. Its adjustment method is also described above.
It so happens that the profile can bend in an arc. There may be several reasons. The first is unprofessional and low-quality editing. The frame can be stretched with anchors and, as a result, the middle hold-down does not work. Second, the straightening plates were not delivered to production or fell. They are installed in the middle of the sash between the profile and the glass unit. In the event that you still have a warranty, then you should use it and do not start repairs yourself. But if the warranty is over, then you need to install these plates yourself. Any piece of plastic is suitable for the material, the width of which will not be less than the thickness of the glass unit.
To install the plates, you need to take a metal spatula and insert it into the joint between the profile and the glazing bead. The bead is detached with a light blow to the spatula. Below you can see straightening plates that are installed between the sash and the frame. Next, you need to close the metal section of the spatula with a plastic stand in order not to harm the glass unit. Then it is necessary to move the glass unit by 3-5 mm with a spatula and install the plates. That's it, we put the double-glazed window in place and close it with glazing bead.
It is important to know that the plates should not rest against the glass part of the glass unit, otherwise the glass may burst.
Over time, window fittings can become clogged with dust or dirt and, as a result, stop working normally. It also happens that during the repair process the windows are open and, for example, the whitewash is hammered into the mechanisms and they stop working. In such cases, you have to sort out the fittings. This procedure can be ordered from professionals. But it will not be cheap, for example, in Moscow it costs about 1200 rubles per window. All cleaning operations for the fittings can be performed independently.
First you need to remove the sash from the hinges, and then remove the decorative overlays from the hinges. After that, it is necessary to remove the axle from the upper loop: hit it from above, and then pull it out from below with pliers. At this time, you will need help as the sash is heavy. Next, we take out the sash from the lower hinge and transfer it to the table. After that, remove the handle, the instructions are described above. Along the entire perimeter of the sash, you need to unscrew all the screws that secure the fittings. The mechanism is removed from a special groove. Then the fittings are laid out on the table, which must first be covered with foil. After the entire mechanism has been removed, it is necessary to rinse it with a brush by dipping it into a rinsing container.
After the mechanism has been thoroughly washed, you need to dry it with air, using, for example, veins or a bicycle pump. Next, you need to lubricate all the transmission and rubbing elements with a special grease for plastic window fittings.
When the lubrication is done, you need to carefully put the fittings back on and screw them in. Install the handle. We put the sash in place and grease the hinges. That's it, the repairs have been completed and money has been saved.
Replacing a broken glass unit is really a nuisance. In the event that you are not entirely sure of the success of your own repair, it is better to turn to professionals. In any case, you will need to order a new glass unit.
The replacement procedure is as follows. We pull out the old double-glazed window. All glazing beads are removed using a metal spatula. In order to remove the glazing bead, you need to insert it into the joint between the frame and the glass unit, lightly hitting, pry it off and remove the glazing bead. After all the glazing beads are removed, you need to remove the glass unit. It is better to take out together, because it's pretty heavy. We shift it to the floor and measure its parameters: height, width and thickness. We transfer the dimensions to the manufacturer and expect a new one to be manufactured.
When installing a new glass unit, you need to install straightening plates. If the sash is deaf, then the plates must be installed at the bottom, and if the sash opens, then in the corners with an indentation of 10 cm. After installation, it is necessary to check that the geometry of the glass unit is correct. If necessary, then we install more straightening plates. We put the glazing beads in place and that's it, the new window is in place.
So we examined the breakdowns and how to repair plastic windows with our own hands..
If once the sash of the window is skewed, sagged down or unevenly located in the horizontal plane, then it will not be difficult to adjust it and return to its natural position. To do this, you must have an Allen key "4".
The vertical position of the sash is regulated by the lower hinge. In order to raise or lower the sash, you need to open the window, remove the cover from the lower hinge. After that, you need to insert the hex key into the adjusting groove, which is located at the top. If you turn the key clockwise, then the sash will rise, and if it is counterclockwise, then it will go down.
The right-left position of the lower part of the sash can be adjusted using the lower hinge. It is necessary to remove the decorative strip from the hinge, insert the key into the adjusting groove, which is located below, and perform the adjustment. When the key is turned clockwise, the sash moves to the left, and counterclockwise - to the right.
The top of the window can be adjusted as follows. Adjustment is carried out by an element located on the sash itself at the top. In order to get to it, you need to open the sash. At the top, on the side closest to the hinges, there is a socket, in which the adjusting element is located. In the same way, using a hex key, move the sash to the right or left.
It is important to remember that the position adjustment is carried out only when the window is open!
Most often, according to the configuration, there are no vents in plastic windows, so the only way to refresh the air in the room in winter is to put the window sash on the ventilation mode. This, incidentally, is also the question of why windows sweat. When too severe frosts come, the gap formed during ventilation may be too large. This is where it becomes necessary to reduce it, at least for a while. Another problem may arise - from under the seal it is blowing too hard. In such cases, adjustment is required and, possibly, do-it-yourself repair of plastic windows.
The clamping force on the frame of the upper part of the sash can be adjusted by the mechanism located in the upper part. In order to gain access to it, you need to open the sash simultaneously in two positions: open and ventilation. In the event that the lock is triggered, which does not allow opening two positions at once, you need to press its tongue on the handle mechanism. After the sash is open, from above we will see the scissors that support the sash. There is an adjustment element at the top or bottom of them. With the help of a hexagon, we turn the element. The sash will begin to pull up to the frame. In the same way, the sash can be returned to its original position.
If it blows out from under the seal, then this can be eliminated by adjusting the clamping force of the sash to the frame. However, if this did not help, then in this case it is necessary to repair the plastic windows with your own hands. It is possible to adjust the sash hold-down using the locking mechanism of the pins and striker plates. They are designed to open and close the window. The moment the handle is turned, the trunnions engage with the striking plates. Either one or the other is regulated depending on the fittings.
The pins are located on the sash. They are round or oval elements. If these elements have a hex groove, then they are adjusted with a key, and if not, then you need to use pliers. It is necessary to turn the pins so that they are closer to the seal. This procedure must be repeated for all existing pins located around the entire perimeter of the sash. Make sure that the pressure is even.
It is worth remembering that the seal also requires its own care.
