In detail: do-it-yourself repair of the canon mg3540 mfp from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.
The ink absorber is almost full. Press printer press RESUME key to continue printing. Contact service center.
Two years after buying Canon Pixma inkjet MFP MG 3540 (Canon MG 3640) when printing the next document, an error message began to appear: 5B00 “The absorber or pampers counter is full” and the lightning indicator began to flash seven times when the next document was sent for printing. The error message suggested pressing the “Color Copy” or “Black and White Copy” button, or contact the “Service Center”. The MFP was printing a page. but then it turned out that the printer had stopped making copies. the scanner did not respond when I clicked the "Copy" button
Method number 1: Resetting the pampers (zeroing the counter) in the Canon Pixma MG 3540 MFP (MG 3640) using the buttons.
2. Download Service tool v3400.
4. Simultaneously press the button "Power on" of the printer
6. And press the “Stop / Reset” button again five times until the printer enters the “Service Mode.” The “On” indicator will be on continuously.

You need the help of a professional technician, knowledgeable in his field, who will diagnose and repair your CANON PIXMA MG3540 printer. Our technical center deals with just such breakdowns. We will make your CANON PIXMA MG3540 printer working as soon as possible. Just dial and contact us! Maintaining the CANON PIXMA MG3540 printer The procedure for diagnostics and repair of the CANON PIXMA MG3540 printer Canon printer service includes replacement of only quality parts from the manufacturer.
Today's tale will be devoted to the printer (MFP) Canon PIXMA MG3540 and the elimination of error 5B00. As I have already written many times that error 5B00 is an overflow error in the absorber (working, diaper) counter of the printer, you can read more about this in this post.
To understand that your printer has this particular error, and not any other, which is most likely eliminated in a completely different way, you should pay attention to the messages that the printer shows on the display of your computer or laptop, as well as to the printer indication.
Signs that the Canon PIXMA MG3540 printer is full of absorber:
1) When sending a print job, the printer flashes lightning 7 or 8 times before being interrupted. If 8 blinks, you can press the color or black and white copy button and the printer will print the sent document.
2) The status monitor of the printer shows on the computer screen a message like “Support code 5B00. Contact the service center. "
Resetting the diaper (error 5B00) for the Canon PIXMA MG3540 printer (a simple method that does not require additional equipment):
In order to reset the absorber overflow error for Canon PIXMA MG3540, you need to find out one nuance. As it turned out, this printer has two or more types of main boards. Those. one and the same printer can work with two structurally different main boards (this is the board where the USB connector of the printer is located). The method for clearing error 5B00 will depend on which board is installed in the printer.
In order to find out which main board is installed in the printer, you can remove the side cover of the printer from the side of the USB port, or simply by typing, try to reset the error using a simple software method. Let's try.
1) Turn on the printer in service mode, for this:
with the printer turned off, press and hold the Stop button Reset
press the printer power button and hold it, it should light up
release the StopReset button and press it 5 more times, each press will light up and go out the "lightning" indicator
a sign of a successful entry into the service mode will be a permanently lit power-on indicator and on the computer the printer will be defined as CanonDevice
2) The printer is already connected to a Windows computer using a USB cable
3) Download the Service tool 3400 program and extract it from the archive
4) Run the program by double clicking
5) In the item Clear Ink Counter -> Absorber, select All and press Set
If everything was done correctly earlier, then a window will appear. A function was finished, click OK
The printer will print a report indicating that the counters have been reset.
Turn off and turn on the printer. An error with 7 or 8 flashes of "lightning" should no longer alarm the next 5-6 thousand prints.

So the situation will be ideal if you come across, so to speak, the first, simple version of the board. By the way, the board with which Canon PIXMA MG3540 can be reset by software, without the intervention of a soldering iron, looks like this:
A special feature of this board is the presence of an EEPROM chip in the front part. Those. if you removed the side cover of the printer and saw on the main board the EEPROM marked above (Rice. 7), most likely to reset the diaper on this MG3540, it will turn out programmatically.
Because it has already happened recently that the Canon printer does not always work to start in the service mode, to reset the error 5B00, in which case it was necessary to flash the same EEPROM with the programmer. This was previously described in the entry about Canon MP280 and IP2700.
Resetting the diaper (error 5B00) for the Canon PIXMA MG3540 printer (a complex method that requires a programmer and a soldering iron):
I have already said above that Canon Pixma MG3540 can work on two constructively different main boards. I described the method of resetting the diaper in the case of one version of the board above, now we will discuss the second version of the main board.
To understand what we are talking about, here is the second type of well-known boards for the Canon Pixma MG3540 printer:
A feature of this board is the lack of EEPROM, on board we only have a flash 25Q064 (Rice. 10).
In the case of this board, the absorber overflow error could be cleared only with the help of the flash 25Q064 programmer.
You can also order an already flashed microcircuit with delivery across Crimea, Russia and Ukraine in our store:
There is still unverified information on this matter, how to check if I can unsubscribe, it seems like you can programmatically reset it.

Recently I installed CISS on my mom's Canon PIXMA MG3540 printer. During the installation I decided that my experience can help someone. The printer works fine, but I installed the CISS for the second time in my life, so I do not pretend to be a guru.
In the photo Canon PIXMA MG3540, ink and everything that was in the set with CISS. CISS cost me 1000 rubles. (250 rubles - delivery, 750 rubles - CISS). InTek C5041 (color) and C5040 (black) ink, 4 pieces - 445 rubles.
Total together with MFP - 3800 rubles. (before the collapse of the ruble)
I must say right away that the operation to install the CISS is not easy and in our city in specialized offices it costs 800 rubles. If you are not sure, then it is better to give 800 rubles. I was just curious, so I took up the installation myself.
I do not bear responsibility in the event of damage to the equipment, I just share my experience.
1) Turn on the MFP, open the covers, take out the cartridges, turn off the MFP.
2) Peel off the labels from the cartridges.
3) Technological holes in the cartridge, they must be drilled out.
4) Drill 3.5 mm for metal. We drill carefully, it is impossible to damage the insides of the cartridge.
5) Fill the syringe with ink. The printer is new, so it was filled to a minimum: black - 5 ml, color - 2 ml each.
Next, fill in slowly at an angle, like in the photo, ink into the cartridge. Do not mix up the colors in the color cartridge: magenta on top, yellow on the right, blue on the left.
6) On a soft cloth, you can determine how smoothly the ink comes out, and whether we have refilled the cartridges.
7) We glue the holes and insert the silicone seals.
8) First, look at point 11 of this instruction, and then cut the tubes and insert them into the ink containers. You need to cut it so that there are no unnecessary kinks in the cable.
9) We clamp the tubes with a clothespin, plug the air holes with plugs and pour ink through the funnels.
10) We take out the funnels, poke the plugs and insert the air filters.
11) It is necessary to cut the tubes so that they twist to a minimum. Here it is better not to rush and do better than I did. Ideally, the black tube should be replaced with a raspberry one, but this should have been done at point 8 of this instruction.
12) We put corners on the ends of the tubes, remove the clothespin, adjust the ink to the end of the tubes: the less air, the better. Don't mix up the colors.
13) Remove the cover with a spring, we no longer need it. It is necessary to snap off the cover from the left ear.
14) Insert the cartridge and thread the tube. The color cartridge does not need to be inserted as usual. It is necessary to pry it, as it were, at the moment when you click the gray lever. The fact is that when you click it, the clamp is triggered, but we have tubes connected to the cartridge and the raspberry tube prevents us from pressing the cartridge as it should. To do this, we tilt the color cartridge forward downward and at the moment the gray lever clicks into place, we align and simultaneously push it forward. Needless to say, we don't make any special efforts, otherwise something else will fall off.
15) The tubes fit well into the horizontal slit on the left. I recommend making a couple of turns with electrical tape, as in the photo, for greater strength.
16) I used my own design to fix the tubes. For fastening, I had to take large paper clips. How they are attached - you can see in the picture. You can use regular paper clips, they work too. Attached at a distance of 10 cm from the left edge. The tubes fit into the frame in size between the mounting of the rollers and the corner of the metal plate. Be sure to check if the printhead is clinging to your mount type.
17) We fixed the tubes so that they do not interfere with the movement of the cartridges. We carefully put the tubes into the slot of the cover. It is not necessary to drill the housing to exit the tubing.
18) After the first start, we clean the cartridges and check the print quality of the nozzles.
After self-refilling the black cartridge on the Canon Pixma MG-3540 MFP (3500 series), the printer printed 102 sheets and was locked.
A warning message appeared on the monitor screen that the cartridge is used up and needs to be replaced immediately. An error light blinked on the printer control panel. And no matter what buttons I pressed, the villainous device categorically refused to print.
The request “Unlocking the cartridge of the Canon MG-3540 printer” sent to the bowels of Google returned with nothing. I also dialed "resetting the canon MG3540 mfp absorber", and "zeroing the canon MG3540 mfp absorber", and even "resetting the canon MG3540 mfp diaper". Everything is empty!
Most likely, this 3500-series MFP has recently been on the market, and domestic service centers and users have not yet managed to develop an antidote for it against unfair competition from the manufacturer.
I had to use the poke method. As a result, I found a way to cheat the Canon MG 3540 printer.
The unlocking algorithm is as follows:
Turn on the MFP using the "Power" button. The Empty Cartridge light and the Error light will blink.
Press and hold the "Reset" button until the "Error" indicator goes out.
Now the same thing: slower and in pictures.
In the last article I wrote about why the printer does not pick up paper. The fault is usually the paper pick roller. In this article I want to tell and show you step by step how to get to it in the Canon MG 4240 inkjet printer. the printer will have to be disassembled almost completely. But I did it, which means you will succeed. Go…
1. Remove the cartridges. Be sure to wrap them in some kind of bag or special packaging so as not to flood everything with paint.
2. Remove the screws on the back of the printer.
3. Unfasten the upper parts of the button bar.
4. Remove the screws under the panel. There are 4 of them, the second from the top is short
5. Remove the left cover. Here are all your favorite latches. Pry from the bottom, front, back, press into the hole from the top
6. Remove the panel with buttons by sliding it to the left. Caution, plumes!
7. Remove the corner with the shutdown button
8. Untie the blue wire from the case. You can first untie, then remove the corner.
Pay attention to the train - it is glued to the bar, we remove it with it
10. Remove the right cover. The latch at the bottom will make you suffer
11. It is the turn of the scanner. We remove it in several stages:
We unscrew the screws: one on the right, 3 on the left and a cable.
Detach WiFi adapter loop
Then we remove the entire scanner
12. Disconnect all loops and wires from the board
13. Remove the front door. Not necessary, but so as not to interfere with it
14. Unhook the spring tensioning the band. Take out the tape itself very carefully, do not bend it or get it dirty - the carriage is oriented along it when moving.
15. Remove the cartridge cover. 3 screws, yellow wire
18. Remove the plastic strip
19. We proceed to the removal of the leading bar. 2 screws on the left, one in the upper right corner
21. Remove the white round thing
22. Unscrew the rail screws. 7 pieces
23. Remove the guide rail. Up
24. Remove the metal plate. 1 screw
25. Find the gear on the right and turn it so that the slot inside turns vertically
26. Remove the screws of the white plastic panel
28. Remove the spring from the shaft
29. Unfasten the shaft on both sides and remove. White sleeves should be unfastened - the tongue is slightly bent and the entire sleeve turns to the desired position
30. Let's start removing the "dirty" plank
Fold back the white latch on the left
31. Remove the white piece on the left side
32. We take out the panel with foam rubber
Unscrew the screws on the left and right.
So we got to the desired detail. Difficult, but possible. Perhaps, in order to get to the video, some elements did not need to be removed, but I changed more than one part, so I took everything apart.
By the way, there was one more detail that periodically jammed and slowed down the paper grab: a kind of "pedal" with a spring. It is located right there: under the roller
Well, since we got to the base, it would be nice to wash or replace the diapers. On this, perhaps, I will finish. I will not describe the assembly of the printer, since the same article will turn out, but in the reverse order.
I almost forgot, here the guy posted his video on disassembling the same printer. True, there he does everything in silence and his actions are not always clear, but it is possible that this will be useful to you:
In this article, we'll look at common MFP problems and how to fix them. Repair tips are relevant for almost all MFP models - HP, Canon, Epson, Xerox, Brother, Samsung, Ricoh, Toshiba and others.
If the scanner unit breaks down in the MFP, then most likely it will not be possible to repair it at home. This may require replacing the backlight lamp or scanning head.
In principle, a malfunction of the scanning part of the MFP can be caused by breakdowns in the electronic part: it is necessary to check the capacitors for swelling, ring the power circuit with a multimeter, and also make sure that there are no burnt-out elements.
If there are problems with the printer unit, then it is usually not difficult to repair it at home.
Paper does not feed... It is necessary to check the correct installation of the cartridge (this applies to both inkjet and laser MFPs), there are situations when a foreign object gets stuck in the paper path. It must be removed and checked for physical damage that it may have inflicted on the device.
The laser MFP may not print because cartridge chip not zeroed... This can happen after refueling. In this case, you either need to contact the service center to replace the chip, or purchase a new cartridge. You can replace the chip yourself. To do this, you need to find and buy a new chip (they cost from 30 to 150 rubles), and insert it in the place of the old one. But for this you need to make sure that there is toner in the cartridge, otherwise replacing the chip is meaningless.
Stripes on sheets (laser MFP)... In this case, you need to clean the drum unit. Remove the cartridge from the MFP, gently slide off the protective cap (on some models it may not be present). It is not recommended to touch the drum unit with your hands! Take a clean, dry, lint-free cloth and wipe off any waste toner from the drum. Then put the cartridge back in.
Printing Problems (Inkjet MFP)... White spots, incomplete colors and other defects are common in inkjet MFPs. First you need to try to troubleshoot problems with software: cleaning the nozzles, calibrating the print head. If these steps do not help, then you can purchase liquid for flushing the nozzles of inkjet printers and clean it with it. Never use tap water, regular alcohol or other household products! You will only make it worse.
We hope that these repair tips were helpful. If anything, call, consultation - free!

These videos provide detailed step-by-step instructions for each product that describe the most common steps for installing and setting up your PIXMA All-In-One. We also offer you troubleshooting videos to help you solve the most common printing problems.
This video shows you how to set up your newly purchased printer - how to unpack it, connect it, and get it ready for use.
This video shows you how to properly prepare the ink tanks and install them in the device.
This video shows you how to load paper into the product.
Quite often, Canon inkjet printers and MFPs have a situation where, when trying to print something, either several sheets of paper are grabbed, or vice versa - the paper is not grabbed. At the same time, all the mechanics seem to work out normally, the paper feed tray correctly feeds the paper to the pickup roller. In such cases, paper jams are common (mainly due to multiple feeds at the same time or insufficient paper feed / feed speed).
Most often, this situation occurs due to the fact that the axis of the paper feed roller breaks - this can be checked by moving the roller by hand: a significant roller play is noticeable. The roller is generally not very rigidly fixed, and even in its normal state there should be a slight backlash in the horizontal direction; but in case of axle breakage, significant vertical backlash is noticeable. You can see the process of picking up the paper: at the moment when the input tray presses the paper against the roller, its strong displacement inside the machine is noticeable.
The actual repair of the roller is not too difficult: it is necessary to restore the broken axle, which can be done in various ways. Considerably more questions (judging by the discussions of this issue in various forums and conferences) are caused by the disassembly of the devices themselves in order to get to this video.
I will try to facilitate your work on restoring the equipment to work; we will talk about Canon Pixma iP 1200, 1300, 1600, 1700, 1800, 2200, 2500, 3300 printers and MP150, 160, 170, 180 MFPs (I have not encountered this malfunction on other devices).
Let's consider an example Canon Pixma iP 3300, as the most inconvenient to disassemble.
How to disassemble other printers from the above - see the materials on the links at the end of this article.
First, remove the side covers. To do this, you need to release the latches from the bottom by pressing them (through the holes in the printer's pallet) and pulling the bottom of the cover away from the body.
Then, pushing the lower part of the lid, press on the upper part of the lid (from top to bottom) to remove it from the hooks that hold it to the upper part of the case, while simultaneously moving the lid down and to the side.
Next, remove the front pads. They are easier to remove when the latches on the front of the printer are released.
Use a thin screwdriver to release the latch 1. Then pry the latch 2 from the inside and move this part of the cover towards you (more than 3-4 mm, it will not move). After that, insert a thin screwdriver into the gap between the cover and body 3 (at the right cover, the screwdriver is inserted above the power button), and, pressing the cover down, pull the outer edge of the cover, trying to leave the inner part in place. When the pad is released (excluding the inner part), the outer part of the pad must be tilted downward to free the inner part. Look carefully at how it holds on to the body - you will have to assemble it in the reverse order.
We release the case latches - two on each side and three on the back; remove the printer case.
Now you can see the broken axle of the paper feed roller.
To make it easier to remove the broken roller for repair, you need to remove the "bracket", which included the broken axle. From the front side, unscrew the self-tapping screw that secures the “bracket” to the frame; pressing the latch and sliding it to the left, take it out.
Further, it is advisable to remove the sensor, because when bending the latches that hold the roller, the tool may slip and damage the optocoupler of the sensor.
The roller is held in place by two latches. We squeeze the latches while pulling out the roller.

It is necessary to dump the diaper, it is impossible to do it in the usual ways. Upon opening it, it turned out that there is no EEPROM on the board at all. Can anyone share a W25Q64SVIG dump from a device with an unblocked absorber counter? I would be very grateful.
looks like nonsense, what error?
(1) This model has 2 revisions of the board, one has an EEPROM and it easily enters the service mode and is reset by software, and the other, which I just got, has no EEPROM. In my mind, it is also difficult to fit that the absorber data is stored in Flash. But on the other hand, if not there, then where? Maybe, of course, the processor has its own EEPROM inside, well, like a microcontroller, but then it is practically impossible to reset the absorber. Therefore, I would like to check first the theory with W25Q64SVIG.
(2) Error 005 or 006. The program does not see the printer, but does not see it because the printer does not enter the service mode and even in the task manager is not detected in any way
(7) Yes, there is no EEPROM at all. There are assumptions that the manufacturer decided to store data from the EEPROM in Flash. To confirm or deny, you need a dump of this flash drive from an unlocked printer.
NISTATIN (5): Error 005 or 006. The program does not see the printer, but does not see it because the printer does not enter the service mode and is not even detected in the task manager if the printer is not detected by us, it will not reach an error - how to enter the service - what is not on the display of the device - what's on usb - program version, db not lower than 3900 - print test and report PS in this printer 4 diapers Main_Black Main_Color Platen_Away Platen_Home
(11) Dear, I asked to drop the dump if possible, and not to arrange an educational program for me. Your attempts to prove to me that I am doing something wrong will not lead me to the desired result.
(12) sorry i won't anymore
Another similar device came with an unlocked diaper, merged the W25Q64SVIG dump from it, uploaded it to the locked one and it all worked. Who needs a dump I will share. The topic can be closed.
(13) As you can see, dear, I was right after all.
Can you share a dump of W25Q64SVIG? It is necessary to restore such a device, but there is nothing to drain the dump from.
here is the same problem. service tool 3400 connected via USB not in service mode - all buttons in the service tool are active - when you press any button, it writes error 006.
I go into the service mode as written at the beginning of the topic. - I press the on button on the printer (the Windows signal sounds about disabling the USB device), all buttons on the service will go out.
press reset, press on. green LED is on release the reset press reset 6 times (the error light is yellow and the light is on - change with each press) after the sixth press, release the reset incl.
the ON light is on service the printer tool does not see Windows either it is not found anywhere, neither in the usb, nor in the network, nor where.
guys! ready to come with this bastard to disable the diaper. Nuuzh painfully expensive printing is obtained on cartridges without refueling.
(17) what prevents you from pressing 5 times and not 6?
does not interfere with anything. only that doesn't help either. at 5 clicks, a yellow light is on, and at 6, a green one - and the service tool, as he did not see the printer, does not see it. with 4 clicks, the 3400 service tool sees the printer, but when the SET button is pressed (Clear Ink Counter - absorber - any main, All, Black.) gives error 006 at the same time it is turned off by the button on the panel, and at 5 6 7 clicks, it does not respond to buttons - only to pulling the cord.
MG3500 is supported by Service Tool v3900 and above
(20) Stop misinforming people.A device with a board revision, where there is no EEPROM, is not detected at all via USB when entering the service mode, and as a result, no ST version will help!
(21) sorry, I don't believe in fairy tales :( report to the studio version of Firvare 2 options with and without eeprom? Pats board number, is it the same?
It seems to me that fairy tales do not believe you in them or not. the printer stupidly does not give USB when trying to enter the service mode and that's it.
- which servistool do not put and which Santa Claus do not pray - if the USB device does not appear in the Windows manager, no connection will work.
for that one can proudly and haughtily call all storytellers. e / t / c
and so my hands got to reflashing soldered the LPT programmer from 4 resistors and a capacitor made a bootable DOS flash drive and flashed this UNLOCKED dump from it with the SPIPGM program (she really asked for the csdpmi5b.zip file - also found it without difficulty) on a new SPI flash drive bought for 200re on winbond 25q64 Mitinsky market.
I removed the USB flash drive and soldered a new one.
entering the service mode after 6 clicks on RESET while holding ON after releasing ON - Windows detects CanonDevice (ID = USBPRINTCanonDeviceF144) installation of drivers ends with failure.
Service tool v3400 sees the printer and all buttons are available pressed the set button opposite Clear Ink Counter service tool went into dead work and does not answer after 20 minutes, the printer turned off by pulling out the cord (did not respond to buttons) subsequent attempts to enter the service mode are unsuccessful - he tsuko again locked up and no longer gives CanonDeviceF144
I'll throw it in akno, perhaps - a nasty device
Why did you buy a new flash, than the old one did not suit you? The NISTATIN dump will be enough for you for a long time, and then repeat the operation.
Please write the printer firmware version on which you managed to programmatically reset the diaper or perform some other operation (using ServiceTool). And if you know, which board is on it, with EEPROM and FLASH, or with only one FLASH. I can help with the firmware of the microcircuits of this printer. Moscow region Zheleznodorozhny town.
set each diaper to 10%, print a report reset everything to 0%, print the report
The printer flashes 7 times. I downloaded the firmware from NISTATINa, took the printer to the service (no programmer). The service said “we asked, now it blinks 9 times”. We reflashed it several times. There is one microcircuit on the board, there is no EEPROM (according to the service specialists). Are there other firmware options?
diaper on any board QM7-2961 / 3391 FW V1.020 QM7-4033 / 4035 FW V1.051 reset by service tool 3900 and higher
... unless, of course, his brains were turned off.
You will laugh, but the printer does not enter the service mode :(. And it is not defined as CanonDevice. Or is it not necessary to enter the service mode for the 3900?
jabber (33): not included in service mode now or before renovation? 9 winks - EEPROM error, with this error it will not enter
Before the firmware, it blinked seven times and did not enter the service mode. Therefore, he was sent to the service. Now, as I understand it, I need at least some kind of firmware.
Canon MG4240 MFP gave error 5400, which sometimes alternated with error 5100. According to Canon diagnostics, error 5400 means MFP overheating. However, this diagnosis has nothing to do with reality. In our case, this error Canon 5400 was caused by oxidation of the contacts of the head loop. To eliminate this error, we had to disassemble the entire device, remove the carriage, disassemble it, clean the contacts and reassemble. The MFP started working after assembly.
Cleaning the contacts of the head loops suitable for the formatting board did not give any results.
We snap off the upper triangular cover of the control panel.
We unscrew the cover above the control buttons, unscrew all the screws, remove the control panel.
Disconnect the card reader, unscrew and remove the metal fasteners,
Unscrew the screws securing the scanner
The rest is simple. To remove the carriage, you need to unscrew the guide bar, encoder tape, motor belt. We disassemble the carriage, clean the contacts of the loops, assemble in the reverse order.
