• We check the correctness of operation: the printer must be plugged in, the tray is pushed in firmly to the very end, the sheet guides are set, the cartridges are correctly installed and there is no jam of foreign objects in the machine.
• Do not be afraid to inspect the inside of the equipment for paper debris or scraps, toner spills, plaster, sand, or water.
• Check the cartridge is full, if it has run out.
• If printer malfunctions are displayed as errors on the computer monitor, be sure to write down the code, number, or information on the screen for transmission to the wizard.
• Pay attention to the print quality of documents, whether there are additional streaks or spots, what color they are.
• Track the frequency of paper chewing.
• Listen for extraneous sounds, crackles, noises when printing.
Having considered all the above nuances, which often lead to the stoppage of the printer's functioning, you can speed up the process of correcting a malfunction, replace the repair procedure with preventive maintenance and save money on a specialist visit. Evaluation of the state of the equipment operability, the exact formulation of the problem and the listing of the problems that have appeared will allow the foreman to respond to the request as quickly as possible, since he will present the amount of work in advance. If this is not a serious breakdown and the situation allows you to repair parts, replace components or restore work quickly - printer repair can be carried out even at the diagnostic stage. By calling the phone number or sending an application through the website YauzaOrgService - assistance will be provided with the provision of a guarantee for all types of operations and services performed.
From time to time, printer owners encounter malfunctions. Most people have independently acquired personal experience in eliminating the minor flaws of such a device. As practice shows, a frequent reason for the unwillingness of the printer to work may be a software failure or a minor malfunction in the mechanical part, which can be eliminated independently, without seeking help from a specialist.
Let's consider the probable causes of malfunctions and how to eliminate them on our own, without resorting to the help of another person.
The device of printers such as HP, Canon, Epson, Samsung, Sharp, Ricoh is fundamentally the same. Therefore, we will consider several reasons that are found on all printing devices:
Important! In no case should you use detergents and liquids containing alcohol.
In addition to all of the above, listen to the operation of your device. Are there any extraneous noises coming from it? If you hear them, this could be a signal that the gears that activate the printing mechanism are out of order. In most cases, they are made of plastic.
Below we will consider how to make repairs using the example of an HP LaserJet 1100 printer. This manual will also be useful for repairing Canon, Samsung and Epson printers.
Suppose the thermal film is damaged during printing with a paper clip on the sheet. For repairs, you need a small set of tools:
VIDEO
Important! During such work, each operation must be performed very carefully, since the printer is mostly made of plastic and any latch or part can break. Of course, after assembly, there should be no unnecessary parts.
The Master's Secret shares his successful experience in repairing a laser printer HP LaserJet 1010. The manual is suitable for HP LJ printers of the 1000 - 1200 series. The story is simple, the purchased used printer (for 1000 rubles) worked for a year and was stupidly damaged by a sheet with a paper clip, rinsed and began to rustle - it broke thermal film. Damage to the thermal film is easily confirmed by installing a replacement cartridge. Contacting the service center meant paying for repairs at least at the price comparable to buying a new printer. I also spurred the search for thermal film for the printer, sellers offered to buy thermal film at an unrealistic price of up to 1,500 rubles (its red price
100 rubles), plus the tricks of sellers in the absence of thermal grease in the repair kit and the sale of this component for repair, also at an order of magnitude overpriced.
The thermal film was searched for within a month and was purchased for 300 rubles (2013) complete with thermal grease. Repair requires a simple tool:
The repair scheme is carried out step by step in the following order.
Step: 1 Check the integrity of the film and the presence of thermal grease. Pull the cartridge out of the printer. Unplug the power cord.
Step 1. Disconnect the power cord
Step 1. Remove the cartridge from the printer
Step: 2 The cartridge access cover is held in place by a rod. The stem must be separated from the cover by pressing on the inner edge of the plastic rivet. Hold the rivet while detaching.
Step: 3 Turn the printer towards you with the back cover and using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the three screws from the metal cover, two screws on the left and one screw on the right. See photo.
Step 3. Unscrew the screw on the left
Step 3. Unscrew the screws on the right
Step: 4 Remove the sides of the printer. The stacks are held in place by plastic clips that are located at the top, bottom, and back. The lid without buttons holds the strongest. Secret latches are shown in the photo.
Step 4. Wall latches with buttons
Step 4. Wall latches without buttons
Step: 5 Lift the cartridge access door and remove the two machine screws. Remove the cover.
Step: 6 Use a flat screwdriver to pry up the lower right edge of the metal back cover and remove it.
Step 6. Pry off the cover with a screwdriver
Step: 7 On the side of the power connector is the power board. There are four different connectors on the top of the board, unplug them. The connector with white thick wires will be disconnected only after pressing the latch, see the photo. It is also necessary to disconnect the red wire on the back panel. Just pull it up. Remember how it is fastened compressed by a spring. Remove the wires from the organizer clips.
Step 7: power board connectors
Step 7. Latch for the fourth connector
Step 7. Fastening the red wire
Step 7. Red wire connector
Step 7. The wires are free
Step: 8 So we got to the stove. The stove is secured with three screws. See photo. We unscrew the screws. Hold the screws while loosening.
Step 8. The first screw that secures the stove
Step 8. The second screw securing the stove
Step 8. The third screw for fixing the stove
Step: 9 Take the right edge of the stove and pull it out.
Step: 10 Unscrew the two screws securing the stove top cover. Remove the cover by pulling it to the side.
Step 10. First cover screw
Step 10. Second cover screw
Step 10. The fuser cover is removed
Step: 11 Now we see the destruction of the thermal film. Remember the position of the planks with pins and levers! There are springs on the sides of the stove, we unhook the springs from below with long-nose pliers. We remove metal strips and plastic pressure levers on each side. Do not mix them up when assembling!
Step 11. Spring securing the lever
Step 11. Remove each spring
Step: 12 We release the white wires from the clips and remove the drum with thermal film. It just goes up.
Step 12. Remove the thermal drum
Step 12. The thermal drum is removed
Step: 13 We remove with our own hands the plastic tip from the side where thin wires come out of the drum. The cap is held on by the latches.
Step: 14 Remove the damaged thermal film and wipe the metal surface and the thermocouple with a damp cloth from old grease and dirt.
Step 14. Remove the thermal film
Step: 15 Apply a new thermal grease on the surface of the stove. Install the thermal film carefully. The end of the cylinder should be fixed to the opposite plastic tip. also carefully install the right tip. It is useful to remove leaked thermal grease.
Step 15. Apply thermal grease
Step 15. Putting on the thermal film
Step 15. Remove excess thermal grease
Step: 16 Assembling the stove in the reverse order. The correct position of the planks in the photo.
Step 16. The cover is installed
Step: 17 We put the stove in place and fasten it with three screws. We fill and connect all the wires to the connectors. Install the red wire correctly.
Step: 18 Install the back and top covers. We lift the plastic flags of the stove up during installation. so that they fit into the corresponding grooves in the cover.
Step 19. Print a test page
Step: 19 After assembling the printer, we check the absence of unnecessary parts. We connect the power cord. We turn on the printer. First, we give the command to feed without paper, and then we print a test page, holding the green button a little longer. On the first few pages, grease marks may appear around the edges. The work was done unhurriedly for an hour. The money saved in such work will correspond to a salary of more than 100,000 rubles a month.
Repair such breakdowns yourself!
I myself changed dozens of thermal films for hp-I testify-it is written correctly.
And how to cheat a laser printer xerox 3140 I have a problem I bought a cartridge for it, I ran out of ink and started pouring new powder and then writes that there is supposedly no cartridge and the red diode has stopped printing and that's it / How can you not tell him to cheat?
What to do if the MFP Samsung SCX 3400, 3405, 3407 does not take paper well or does not take it. Replacing or repairing the pick roller.
If your Samsung printer or MFP cheats, crumples, chews or simply refuses, take paper or does not grab it.
And at the same time, it gives a paper jam error.
It might be time to replace the pick-up roller or paper feed roller.
In this article, I will show you how to remove and put back the paper pick-up unit yourself and change the paper pick-up rubber bands on the Samsung SCX 3400, 3405, 3407 multifunctional device.
Here we have this device, specifically the Samsung SCX 3400 model.
He had a problem that he did not take paper well when printing on the second side.
But he took clean paper normally.
This is because after the first side is printed, the paper bends slightly in the machine's fuser, and the worn pick rollers could not push it into the printer.
1. Open the cover with the scanner at the top and take out the cartridge.
2. After that, turn the MFP over and put it on the scanner lid or on its side. Whom it is more convenient.
3. At the bottom of the device we see two holes marked with arrows. You can clearly see this in the photo below.
4. Take a magnetic screwdriver and unscrew two bolts from these holes. Maybe not magnetic. But then you have to shake these bolts out of the apparatus. And perhaps they will fly where they are not required.
5. We put our MFP back on the legs and open the lid. We see the paper grabbing mechanism itself.
6. Now you need to move it a little to the bottom, about 12 millimeters and to the right.
This must be done so that the white drive, which is to the left of the mechanism, is disengaged and we do not break it when removing it.
7. After that, carefully lower the mechanism down and pull it up.
In this case, do not use physical force, if it snags, you do not need to pull it.
And you just need to twist it and it will come out normally.
8. Here is the paper grabbing mechanism of this Samsung printer.
It contains two rubber paper pick-up rollers.
They are the ones who take the paper and submit it for printing.
9. If you have a new paper pickup unit, lift the white catch on the left.
And we take out the old one, and put a new one in its place.
10. If you only have Samsung Pick up Rollers, then take out our rollers and remove them from the plastic base.
In their place we put on new elastic bands and go to step 14.
11. If you have neither a spare unit, nor spare rollers for picking up paper, then you can do the preventive maintenance of the module for picking up paper.
12. To do this, it is necessary to change places of the elastic bands, they do not wear out evenly, one elastic band has more load than another.
And you need to wipe the gum with a special compound to restore rubber surfaces.
If not, you can wash them with soap and water.
Then dry and put in place.
13. Here are three rubber bands in the photo below, two of which I removed and one new.
It can be seen that one is almost bald, the second is eaten in the center.
But the third is completely with a rough tread.
14. After replacement, install the pickup block in the body.
And you can put it back into the printer.
15. The most difficult thing is to start the drive of the paper pick-up module exactly in the sprocket on the left.
I could only do this with tweezers.
And then only from the second time I was able to put the mechanism in place normally, like in the third photo.
I forgot to take an enlarged photo, but on the video, it is clearly visible.
16. In a similar way, the paper pick-up roller changes on other models of Samsung printers and MFPs that use 101 cartridges:
Samsung ML-2160, Samsung ML-2162, Samsung ML-2165, Samsung ML-2167,
Samsung ML-2168, Samsung SCX-3400, Samsung SCX-3405, Samsung SCX-3407, Samsung SF-760.
If from a detailed description that something is still not clear, see the video instruction below how to change or clean the capture clips on the Samsung 3400 MFP with your own hands.

Printers, scanners, multifunction devices - office equipment has become a part of our life: these devices are now available in any office and in almost every home. Like any electronics, such devices, no matter how high-quality they are, can start to "junk" over time. Someone in such cases immediately goes to the service center, someone tries to repair the printer on their own at home, which sometimes leads to disastrous results. Let's find out together in what cases do-it-yourself printer repair is justified, and when it is better to use the services of professionals.
Printer interruptions can occur for a variety of reasons. The most common problems faced by users can be described as follows:
Problems with feeding / dispensing, even paper rolling.
Horizontal / vertical stripes appear on sheets.
Loud noise during the operation of the device.
Problems turning on the printer.
"Invisible" cartridge that is not recognized by the printer.
Inability to print from a computer or print "incomprehensible" characters.
Inability to print a given (usually large) volume.
We have listed several problem situations, but in fact, printer malfunctions can manifest themselves in different ways - depending on the type of device, its "age" and other factors.
Let's figure out in which of the cases it is possible to repair printers at home, and whether it is possible in principle.
A strong noise during the operation of the device is most likely caused by a malfunction of the gearbox or the main drive, so you should immediately contact the service center, and not try to "fix" the printer by repeatedly turning it on and off.
There are many sites on the Internet that describe in detail how you can easily and easily repair any equipment with your own hands. However, in our opinion, the repair of printers should be carried out only by specialists who will accurately identify and fix the problem, and will not act with improvised means (screwdrivers, nail files, scissors), as most users would do. "So what happens when you run to the service center at the first unsuccessful attempt to print a sheet of paper?" - you ask. No, you don't need to run right away, there are still some things you can do at home - for example, carry out initial diagnostics of the printer's operation.
Often, oddly enough, the printer does not work for "funny" reasons:
incorrectly installed cartridge,
not exposed sheet limiters,
tray not fully retracted,
foreign objects stuck in the printer.
Therefore, if your machine suddenly starts to jam or tear the paper, make sure that all the elements in it are installed correctly. Remove the cartridge and carefully inspect the inside of the device: if you see the remains of a jammed sheet, it is better not to try to get it yourself using sharp objects, they can cause much more damage.
If water, sand such as plaster, earth from a flowerpot gets inside your printer, or toner spills - immediately unplug the device and contact the service center.
Another diagnostic trick to understand where the problem lies is to use one cartridge instead of the other. If your printer “does not see” the cartridge, jams the paper under it, prints stripes on the sheet, install another cartridge in it, if, of course, you have one. Restoring the device's performance will indicate that the problem was in the cartridge, but if the problems persist, then the malfunctions should be looked for in the printer itself. By the way, sometimes stripes on the paper indicate that soon you will need to refill the cartridge. When stripes appear on the sheets, take out the cartridge, shake it well several times and put it back in place: if the “streaking” has disappeared, it means that the matter is in the running out of toner.
Let's start disassembling. Advice: when removing the parts of the MFP one by one, lay them out on the table neatly, do not throw everything in a heap - then it will be easier to figure out what to put back for what.
1. Remove the paper tray.
2. Remove the front cover from the hinges.
3. Unscrew the four self-tapping screws on the back of the MFP.
5. Disconnect the wire, remove the back cover.
6. Remove the side covers. The upper latches are released first, then the lower ones.
7. Start removing the side covers, it is better with these latches - shown in the photo below.
8. From the left cover, disconnect the wire coming from the sensor.
8. Remove the scanner unit. Before removing the unit, disconnect the shiny ribbon and two wires coming from the scanner.
9. The scanner unit is not fixed in any way (ie it is not screwed on with self-tapping screws), we remove it by first lifting the front edge, then the rear.
10. Now unscrew the four screws and remove the top cover.
11. Remove the fusing unit ("fuser", "stove").Disconnect the two wires from the stove.
12. Unscrew the four self-tapping screws. The top two are not immediately visible, you need to look.
13. The fuser can now be removed. It can be easily removed, gently pull it towards you. Be careful not to break the tab in the middle of the stove on a part on the main board. If your task was to gain access to the stove, the disassembly can be completed, if not, we continue.
14. Next, remove the laser unit. We unscrew one self-tapping screw and remove the plug.
15. Unscrew the four self-tapping screws holding the LSU.
16. Disconnect the two wire harnesses going to the laser unit. We handle the laser unit very carefully - since this is the "heart" of the device, we do not throw it, we don’t give birth, we don’t touch the glass with dirty hands.
17. If it is necessary to repair a long warm-up and / or doubling / tripping of the print - we remove the transfer (circled in green in the photo below) the roller to replace or clean it.
18. If the machine stops picking up paper, the problem is either in the pick-up roller or in the development of the seat of the roller axle sleeve. If the pickup roller is worn out, you need to either clean it or replace it. You can clean it with alcohol acetone. I dilute sirt and acetone in a ratio of 3: 1, respectively, and carefully wipe the rubber with this solution, as if trying to loosen it - it helps for a little while if there is no new roller at hand.
If cleaning / replacing the pick-up roller does not help, the seat of the roller axle bushing may be to blame. But more on that later.
19. Remove the capture roller. Turn the device upside down, disconnect the wire coming from the fan.
20. Unscrew ten self-tapping screws (sometimes less, I came across devices after a mountain of repairmen who left 4-5 self-tapping screws here) ..
21. Unscrew two more self-tapping screws and carefully lift and slide the bottom cover towards you (if the device is located as in the picture below).
22. From the side, unscrew the six self-tapping screws holding the gearbox. Do not lose the green wire with the terminals.
23. Disconnect the wire. The gearbox often needs cleaning and lubrication. Inspect the gears - if toner has adhered to them, clean it. I use a cheap stiff bristled toothbrush for this.
24. Unscrew the three self-tapping screws. Remove the protective cover.
25. Pay attention to the location of the moving and stationary parts of the gear (circled in green). Take it off.
26. Slide the latch slightly to the right.
27. Next, moving the entire axis to the left, remove the pickup roller.
28. Now about the renovation. The feed roller is rotating and no paper is fed. You can hear it by the sounds - the video several times tries to grab the sheet, but it doesn’t suffice and the device freezes. Replacing or reading the capture roller is ineffective. This is most often due to wear on the roller axle bushing seat:
It is treated as follows: A metal plate of suitable thickness is glued to the worn-out place. Before gluing, it is necessary to process the edges of the plate from burrs, otherwise there will be a rapid wear of the axle sleeve. For these purposes, I use a worn out dispensing blade from the same SCX-4200 - and the thickness is suitable and the blade lasts for a long time :-).
29. We clean or change the gripper roller, if necessary, we repair the seat of the gripper roller axis bushing.
30. Assembly is carried out in reverse order.
The machine has stopped picking up paper, chews sheets, prints dirty, then you can use this article to get to the desired node and fix the problem.
Remove the front cover from the hinges.
Unscrew the 4 self-tapping screws from the back of the MFP.
Disconnect the wire and remove the back cover.
Start removing the side covers, preferably with these latches.
From the left cover, disconnect the wire coming from the sensor.
Let's remove the scanner. Disconnect the ribbon cable and 2 wires coming from the scanner.
Carefully remove the scanner by lifting the front edge first, then the rear edge.
Unscrew 4 self-tapping screws and remove the top cover.
Let's remove the stove. Disconnect the 2 wires coming from the stove.
Next, let's remove the laser. First, unscrew 1 self-tapping screw and remove the plug.
Unscrew the 4 self-tapping screws holding the laser.
Disconnect the 2 wires going to the laser.
The pressure roller can be removed (although not removed).
If the machine stops picking up paper, the problem is with the pick roller. It is necessary to either clean it or change it. You will have to shoot in any case.
Turn the MFP over. Disconnect the cable coming from the fan.
Unscrew 2 more self-tapping screws and slide the bottom cover.
Unscrew the 6 self-tapping screws from the side that hold the gearbox.
Disconnect the wire. The gearbox can be put to one side.
Slide the latch slightly to the right.
Further, moving the entire axis to the left, remove the capture roller.
Clean or replace the pickup roller, then reassemble in reverse order.
p / s /. If the printer heats up for a long time and gray printing (for models 4200,4300), do the following: 1) Wash the transfer, it is possible with soap 2) Replace the right bushing with the bushing from HP2612 or Canon E16 cartridges 3) Remove the bottom board and clean the spring contact warming up should be 30-40s
At one point, the printer that served you faithfully stopped working normally. What to do? Take it for repair? Will they be able to establish the cause of the breakdown. Will they impose the replacement of serviceable parts instead of those that really need to be changed. It is not known whether the broken part will be replaced or whether they will make it work, install another, which has worked out its resource by 50%, or order a new one. Can you try to disassemble and repair it yourself?
In this article I will talk about typical malfunctions of laser printers using the example of the samsung ml-3050 printer. And also I will tell you how to disassemble it. And most importantly, how to repair it!
The Samsung 3050 printer is an office printer with an average print volume.
Let's start with the fusing unit. It bakes toner on paper at 180 degrees. As a result, the powder applied to the paper is not smeared.
It is filmed on this printer very simply. Open the back cover and unscrew the 4 bolts that secure the assembly.
We take out the fuser. It is connected to the power supply with a connector on the inside.
The printer screen says "High temperature. Restart the printer."
The malfunction is eliminated by replacing the temperature sensor. It is fixed with 3 screws and connected with screw terminals.
Worn gear that drives the fuser shafts. It is accompanied by loud noise and crackling.
In order to remove it, you need to disassemble the fusing unit. The photo below shows 2 gears, I decided to change them too.
Remove the terminals from the halogen lamp inside the heating shaft.
And we unscrew the bolts fixing the lamp.
We carefully take out the lamp.
Slightly separate the halves and take out the gear from the heating shaft.
The gears of the stepper motor, which drives the shafts of the printer, also wear out. To replace them, you will have to disassemble the printer. First of all, we take out the duplex printing module.
Next, unscrew the 4 bolts of the back cover.
Unscrew the 2 bolts of the top cover.
We turn the printer over, open the front cover, as when installing a cartridge, and unscrew the 2 bolts securing the top cover.
Remove the cover and disconnect the ribbon cable.
We unscrew the side cover bolt, disengage it at the bottom and remove it.
We unscrew the engine bolts and disconnect its cable.
We inspect and replace worn gears. To do this, use a slotted screwdriver to pry and pull out the retaining ring. The block touches the fuser gear with one of the gears and sets it in motion.
Some more malfunctions associated with the shafts.
Carbon deposits on the heating roller, due to the adhesion of toner (usually this is due to a non-original cartridge, more toner is applied than necessary and the excess remains on the roller).
Peeling off the film from the pressure roller and sticking to the heating one leads to paper jams.
Uneven baking on the sheet, resulting in toner smearing in places. In the photo below, the shafts are even more or less in working order!
Stripes on the heat roller result in stripes on the sheet when printed.
Problems associated with the movement of paper through the printer
if the printer picks up several sheets from the paper tray at once, then it is necessary to change the brake pad.
It is not difficult to shoot and changes to a new one.
if the paper jams during the pick-up process, you need to change the pick-up roller. It can be removed very easily, bend the plastic retainer and remove the roller from the shaft.
The surface of the roller should be slightly rough. The roller with rubbed rubber must be replaced!
The photo above shows a groove on the shaft for fixing the roller.
if paper jams during duplex printing, the problem is with the duplex unit. I described how to remove the module above. Let's see how to disassemble it. Unscrew the 4 bolts on the black plastic part and remove it.
Next, unscrew the 2 bolts on the metal paper guide and remove it.
Remove the rubber roller with the shaft. The hard rubber roller needs to be replaced. It is necessary to find its part number in the spare parts catalog for this printer and order it on the Internet. Most likely it will be together with the shaft.
I had rollers for the Samsung 3710 close at hand. The gum itself is the same. I decided to rearrange them.
I remove the gum with pliers.
The photo shows the difference between the new and the old video.
Replacing the two rollers should resolve the paper jam problem.
The last stage where paper can get jammed is the fusing unit, the repair of which is described above.
Another very rare, but possible malfunction: black sheets exiting the printer. The problem is solved either by replacing the cartridge or caratron (the unit that forms an image on the drum of the cartridge).
In order to remove it, you need to disassemble the printer as when replacing the gears on the engine, but you need to remove the opposite side cover and disconnect its loop from the control board, and of course unscrew it yourself.
Video (click to play).
The cartridge can also cause poor print quality and replacing it will fix the problem.
