Begin to glue the zipper from the bottom, drive it into the corner by 1.5-2 cm and then glue it along the entire length of the bootleg. After gluing carefully on one side, let it dry for a couple of minutes and then proceed to glue the zipper on the other side.
We check how the zipper is glued. Also glue the lining to the zipper on both sides.
As everything is stuck, you can sew the zipper on a typewriter or by hand, hitting a needle into the holes of an old stitch.
The fact is, in order to replace the zipper on your shoes, you will not need weak hands, a tool that is capable of stitching thick material (a machine or an awl).
The zipper needs to be ripped out at the beginning, I think it's not difficult to carefully cut the strings with a flat knife and pull them out.
Try not to damage the leather itself or the material of the shoe.
When you cope with this task you need to go and buy the same one, neither wider, nor larger, nor thicker, but exactly the same.
Next, we insert the zipper into place, gluing it with rubber glue, this is in order to assemble shoes with a zipper that will already stand in place, then it will be easier to flash it.
So, carefully on both sides, we will mix everything as it was, insert the zipper and press it with glue - do not use any glue other than rubber! , rubber glue will not damage the shoes, and if it comes out somewhere and stains the shoes, it is easy to remove it!
Further, of course, it is good to have a sewing machine that is capable of stitching such a thickness, took it and stitched it and everything is ready.
But I am sure that you do not have such a machine and you will have to sew with an awl or a thick needle and pliers, stitch by stitch, sew everything as it was.
Use the old seam holes to make your task easier.

Replace the zipper on the boots pretty hard. I have been sewing for a long time, and I changed the zipper on my boots myself, so I can tell you one thing - if you have never done this before, do not take it. I suffered terribly, but I was not satisfied with the result of my work.
You can change the zipper if you first flop the previous one. There are nail scissors, they will help you in this matter. Carefully evaporate, without damaging the skin, suede.
Next we take our lightning. It should be either the color of the boots' material, or just black. I like tone on tone more, because boots will look much nobler in this version, in my opinion.
Then we need to put some glue on the fabric of the lock. I would advise you to take "Moment" gel or hot glue. it is better to distribute the adhesive consistency with a synthetic bristle brush.
We glue. Now, I will voice an important point.
If there is fur inside the boots, then our task is to glue the zipper so that when fastening the fur, the lock dog does not “chew”. If the fur is worn out and becomes not beautiful at the edges, it can be carefully trimmed with scissors. Now let's see how we did it.
If all is well, we will try to flash the zipper.
I can honestly tell you that it is much easier to flash on a typewriter. If the machine is good, then it will sew thin skin without difficulty.
If you work only with a needle and threads, then the threads should be chosen quite thick. They are sold in a dedicated department.
We sew using an awl, a thimble. It will protect your finger and help push the needle through without hurting your finger.

Of course, you can independently replace the zipper on shoes, including boots, for example, winter boots. It is important to do everything carefully, unhurriedly.
First, buy a new zipper of the right size, even if it is long, it is not a big deal, you can shorten it.
2) it is advisable to glue the zipper first, and then just flash it. When gluing, you can safely lay the zipper in the place where it should be, if you sew it on right away, then it may not work out so smoothly.
3) Glue the place along the entire length of the boot with glue, and also apply glue along the edge of the zipper.
4) glue it from below, drive the zipper into the corner for a couple of centimeters, then along the entire shaft. Glued on one side, let it dry for a few minutes, then coat the lining of the boot with glue, the place that is superimposed on the zipper.
5) when the glue is completely dry, we sew the zipper, try to hit the hole with the needle in the holes of the old stitch.
The zipper on the boots is no different from the zipper sewn into the jacket, and almost everyone knows how to rearrange the zippers. But the problem with replacing the zipper in winter boots is not the inability, but the lack of special equipment, because you cannot sew a zipper on a boot on a simple machine.
There is an option, to flash the zipper completely with your hands, sticking a needle and thread through the remaining holes, the work is not difficult, but jewelry, the costs do not pay off and it is worth buying new boots.
I suggest a slightly simpler option, it does not make the zipper durable, but it saves you until the next purchase. Why do we change the lightning - the dog jams, slips, breaks.
The dog can be secured with a paper clip or put in several layers of twisted thread in its place and make a loop. It lasts a long time, we change it three times during the season.
But if the zipper sticks or does not close, then you need to adjust the lock itself.
To do this, use nail scissors or a thin screwdriver to expand the space in the lock, bring it to the bottom of the zipper, re-clamp the lock with pliers and drive through the zipper. Here you need to take your time and feel how much you are pinching. If you pinch, the zipper will not close.
