Most often, denim clothing is altered due to external defects: scuffs at the bottom of the legs or crotch, torn areas of fabric, and so on. For work, only whole sections of denim are taken, and the spoiled ones become unusable. We are used to wearing spoiled clothes at home or in the country, so that no one but you can see it. Let's not go to such extreme measures and remake old jeans into stylish shorts with our own hands.

We will prepare everything you need, namely:

Old jeans.
Threads to match.
Needle.
Well sharpened scissors.
Elements for decoration (lace, beads, beads, and so on).
Tape for hemming trousers.

We put on jeans.
We stand in front of the mirror.

We steam the sleeves to make it easier for us to work with the product in the future. We are doing this also because the coat is a little too big, so we need to rip off the sleeves to fit the armhole line. We put aside the sleeves, since we do not need them yet.
We re-register the sides on the shelves of our product. We find the center on them by measuring the entire distance divided by two. This mark will be the center of the shelf.

Important! If the fabric is in “herringbone”, then it is quite simple to determine the center - by the vertical pattern.

We draw a new line of the side from the received mark of the central part. Draw up a diagonal from the bottom center line. This mark will gradually widen in relation to the width of the lapel.

Important! Our coat has a collar, so the lapel width is equal to and will be the width of our turn-down collar. If your product is without a collar, then determine this value yourself.

To repair such cuts with the glue method, I usually do this (see photo):

I am preparing a rectangular piece of fabric suitable for repairing the product, slightly larger than the size of the incision. So that the patch overlaps the incision. (1,2);
I carefully cut off all protruding threads, give the cut a "decent" look - so that nothing sticks out, the cuts are smooth, beautiful;
I insert the prepared patch under the incision, as shown in photo 3, 4;
The incision for further processing is ready! (5);

Then I cut off a piece of glue web (either tape or wide, which is) slightly longer than the cut (6);

Gently insert the cobweb inside the incision. It turns out such a kind of layered cake: a piece of fabric - a glue spider web - the fabric of the product;

Then, combining the sections, I carefully cover it with an iron (if the properties of the fabric require it) and slowly iron it, stagnating the incision with an iron (8);

I remove the iron - all the cut is not visible, the jacket is saved (9, 10)

IMPORTANT: the difficulty is not to move the edges of the cut, but to do it very carefully. To do this, you need to carefully move the iron, not carrying it over the fabric, but raising and lowering the sole.

Everyone has a thing in their wardrobe with a leaky lining. Here I am jacket lining parted at the seams. Of course, you can change it, but there is a simple, fast and budgetary way to do without it.

So here is the jacket (though already restored), it is so nice to wear it with jeans.

That's how the lining came loose.

For the restoration, I used a contrasting green satin ribbon. I ripped open the relief seams along which the lining had spread, cut off the flaws, and steamed them off. I also ripped part of the shoulder seam. I put a satin ribbon on the back pad, pinned it and stitched it with threads in the color of the ribbon. I ripped a line about 10-15 cm in the sleeve to turn the jacket out later.

For the entourage, I added a ribbon under the tag, for this, it was first neatly rebuffed.

I sewed the tag into place.

Then she connected the barrel of the back with a satin ribbon. Part of the satin ribbon went into the seam, which will create the illusion that this is what the manufacturer intended.You can simply put the tape on the seam and stitch or sew by hand, will and imagination will help you. Then I connected the bottom of the lining to the bottom of the product and turned the jacket through a specially left hole in the sleeve. I sewed up the hole.

Repair of a fabric jacket
What happened: Tear at the elbow in the form of a triangle.
What did they do: put 2 patches of oval shape from "native" fabric. The patch fabric was taken from the wrong side of the jacket. To do this, the back of the lining was ripped open and the material of this area was used to install the patch. On the seamy side of the jacket, which served as a "donor" for the patch, a fabric similar in composition, density, texture and color was installed. In place of the gap, a cushioning material was installed on the inside for strengthening. Then the stitching darning operation was performed, and a "native" patch was installed on top.

What happened: the loops were loosened in the neck area.
What did they do: with the help of a loop hook raised the loosened loops. The gap was tied with threads to match the color of the fabric, the connection was fixed.

How is a clothing repair done like in a tailor shop. They are pulled near the edge or seams, or from a piece of the same fabric. The size of the patch is cut out 0.5 cm more than the worn area. The patch is swept so that the directions of the pattern on it and on the fabric coincide, then it is tied with a blind seam or small stitches and ironed well.

How is the repair of men's trousers carried out. When the braid of the trousers is frayed, it is replaced with a new one. Tie the braid so that the thickened edge protrudes from the edge of the trousers along the width. It is worse if the hem of the trousers has been rubbed along with the braid. In this case, you need to rip off the bent edge of the bottom of the trousers, clean it from dirt and iron it out, plaster the worn out places and fold the trousers 3-5 cm above the plastered place. After that, you can tie the braid.

Repair of welt pockets. If the edges are wiped off near the welt pockets, then you need to unscrew the fastening on the pocket, the lower frame, having turned the sheathing on the front side, unplug and cut off the worn edge. Iron the casing and tie to the floor along the lower edges, iron the seam. When the width of the sheathing is not enough, you will have to use the fabric from under the bead or the flap of the pocket. The tied trim is folded into the middle of the torn pocket and, having swept out the edge of the frame, is sewn along the seam line. This is done so that the loop wraps around the button loosely and does not tighten. And so how to sew a button and a button on the clothes.

Buttons can be sewn to silk fabric without a leg, without pulling the thread very tightly. Tying a button to the outer garment, a small button or a piece of fabric is sewn on the side of the lining for strength.
