4. Connect the electronic shunt module ground to the nearest vehicle ground.
5. Install the fuse (12V) in the fuse box.
The most problematic parts here are the front air struts, especially the sealing on the top of the struts. This is because at the factory the top of the air suspension strut is sealed with glue, and over time this glue cracks and begins to let air in, as a result of which the car drops below the permissible level, but when the engine starts, it rises again to the desired position.
Since the air suspension of the Mercedes W220 is equipped with closed air springs, protected from harmful external influences, usually the rupture of the pneumatic chamber occurs as a result of the end of the life of the camera itself, which is about 150,000 km.
So if the mileage on the speedometer is close to this figure, be careful.
The first is the installation of a new original air suspension (the most expensive way) .
The second is the installation of a used pneumatic strut (the cheapest, but the most unreliable method - it is not known how long a used air suspension strut will last) .
And the third, the most optimal way, which will also save you a substantial amount, is the installation of our new pneumatic chamber, followed by a guarantee of up to 24 months.
This is due to a fallen off air suspension stiffness valve.
Gas escapes from the shock absorber and oil flows out, and, of course, it stops performing its functions.
Replacing a faulty shock absorber with a new one (the most expensive option).
Replacement for a used shock absorber.
And the best option is to replace the faulty shock absorber with our remanufactured shock absorber.
It breaks down as a result of frequent switching on, if the owner of the car does not pay attention at all to the fact that his car is often lowered.

Check the wiring first and the connectors. Then the level sensor.
I think everything comes to the sensor because I tried to remove the traction from it and move it myself all the way down the computer flashes the error in red to stop the car, there is not enough ground clearance and the compressor starts to roam, and if the chip immediately bleeds air into the top, even on a plastic clamp it tightened
was going to buy a Mercedes 220 2002-3 onwards. interested in the problems of air suspension, tk. many people scare! what problems can arise! And where to look, how to check the car before buying. thanks in advance!
I have w220 1999 took a little over three weeks ago, like a computer. diagnostics showed nothing (ideal condition) this morning I went to warm up the car on my belly, I can't turn the steering wheel .. Think about it.
rose? if it does not rise, then check the compressor
Well, the fact that you have it on your belly is that the system does not hold air, you need to check the pipe connections and valves, perhaps a "tired" compressor (it often turns on), if it does not turn on, then check whether it is receiving power, there may be a wire break or bad contact on the block, look at the relay.
the air in the system simply froze out. and if it does not hold on a warm one, then see the recommendations above
the compressor has air drying granules, if the machine is not young, then their resource is probably exhausted. When the compressor is running, the air is compressed and, accordingly, a by-product condensate is obtained. and in case of temperature drops, the air in the system can be “grabbed”, as Sergei said above. such suspensions do not tolerate the winter very well, I do not go if it is below -15 *, I take a simpler car.
filter drier is installed only in the air conditioning system of cars and then except for those manufactured for the Saudi Arabian market
and it makes no sense to install such a filter in the airmatic system, since there is a direct intake of air from the atmosphere, in contrast to a closed air conditioning system. airmatics has a simple paper filter at the inlet
I personally disassembled my compressor with my own hands and can confirm the presence of silica gel.
I also disassembled, though for a long time, but I do not remember where it was filled up there. maybe you analyzed it later and you have a better memory, so I won't argue
a filter drier is located on the compressor itself above the electric motor along the air line coming from the pump valve. about the size of a retractor relay for a starter on a Zhiguli. it is from him that the air line goes further to the valve block.
If you did the diagnostics in a regular service, then there is nothing surprising. Errors should be checked at the dealership. In a regular service, their computer does not even see those errors that are already on the dashboard. Checked on W211.

Thank you for the video! I wasted my time. Are the price tags on your site up-to-date?
.COPRESSOR WORKS BUT BAD. What is the price of a new compressor. In dagestan you can't get a repair kit. Can you order?
Good day! I have a s500 4 matik 2002. After a long stay, the front sits down completely. We start, rise, go. What does this mean? Fault or not. Thanks in advance.
the reason for the leakage of the front pillar on top is a rubber ring in the top cover under the stopper what a bush (DIVORCE FOR RACK REPAIR) even there is a repair kit, it doesn't hold a damn thing. What nafig 5-6 atmospheres of residual pressure
after the words S 220. and the fact that everyone who has such a body constantly thinks about pneuma .. turned it off))))) But turned it on again)) and watched it to the end, though rewinding) only here the prices for repairs were not announced .. Thank you, if suddenly I will probably turn to you.
kann ich eure Adresse haben
in 45 minutes I learned more about pneuma than in 1.5 months of reading forum specialists through the lips. Regardless of the price and quality of work, plus your karma just for vidos. I hope there will be more available materials on this topic.
Good day! The car falls a little in a day, the left front pillar, in two days it falls heavily, while the right one always catches up a little. At the service station they said that this was not a strut but a valve of the left strut, and the right one lowers from behind the sensor of a deflated left strut. Can you tell me how to check? And can you suggest a service in Almaty, Kazakhstan?
Good afternoon. I have s320 2001 onwards. Interesting problem (no one has solved it yet). The car randomly falls onto 4 wheels. Typically 2 hours in advance. This happens in 70% of cases. There is no pattern. What does this mean? Thanks in advance.
The video is excellent)) very informative))) I cured the rack in my 220, just pouring 400 grams of funds into it for repairing high-gear wheels))) I don't know how long it will last, but I've been driving for half a year already)))
Good afternoon. I have such a pump problem for half a year. if the car has been standing for a month, the right rear side sags a little. when driving, I press on the gas (with a sharp acceleration), the pneumatic pump turns on and works while accelerating. as the load on the rear part drops or I press the brake, the pump turns off. Can you tell me where to look? and even during the night the muzzle rises. I open it to go down to the level.
Great video ! Everything is clear and accessible!
service I will open I will cooperate
Nice video. Now everything became very clear. The understanding came that the air suspension is not so scary, the main thing is the hands and the head. I especially liked the moment about replacing the sleeve with a repair European. As an engineer, Mercedes deliberately underestimate the resource, and our Russian man in the street does not allow himself to be defeated. Thank you
tell me, how long can the suspension of the 220th survive on the harsh, Russian roads? sorry for such a primitive question.
Please create a review, I have mixed up the valve of the compressor with all the hoses, I don’t know now which hose is where to fuss. now I don’t know what to do.
Good afternoon! Watching your videos are all very informative. I had a problem with the pneumatic on the 220. In general, one rear pillar was poisoned, it was removed and replaced by a pair of used ones. rear pillars, calibrated the suspension, and everything seems to be fine, went home from the service, and after passing 90-100 km. the way, the muzzle of the car perceptibly became stiff, and the white board lit up the visit to the workshop, I reset the connectors of the front air struts (on the advice of the master, about a hundred, supposedly there are problems with the terminals on 220s), everything was gone, the car became soft as it was, it was the turn to change wheel bearings, but after replacing the wheel bearings, the ABS started to work at the slightest touch of the brake pedal, the problem was solved by bending the ring counting the revolutions, but the previous problem returned, the car became hard again, the masters decided to re-connect the ABS sensor connector with the same and the air suspension connector, the result is zero and the following attempts to override the terminals did not give any result. Star does not give out pneumatic errors, the compressor is blowing 14 bar, the valve rack is new, I don’t know what else could be. In riding, the chassis is like a ball, you eat that on a low prior. The entire pneumatic part was checked, all wires and sensors were checked, Star does not give errors. Tell me what else could be the problem
Video (click to play).
I simply could not find a more informative and high-quality video about pneumo merciers! Fine! Thank you!
