If there is a problem with attaching the lower horizontal bar to the frame or wicket, then it can only be attached to the end. If it is possible to remove the gate, then this must be done in order to get the tool to the frame. Insulation installation. Insulation is placed in the resulting space between the lathing bars. Before that, you need to measure the cells and cut out pieces of foam of the appropriate size (it is recommended to leave a 2–3 mm margin on each side so that the material fits tightly into the cell). You can fix the insulation in various ways or not fix them at all, the elasticity will keep them tightly in the crate. If you still want to additionally ensure their docking with the door leaf, you can use liquid nails or polyurethane foam. After each square of the insulation has occupied its own niche, you need to seal up the joints and cracks with the same polyurethane foam. Cut off the surplus only in a day. If desired, the slabs can be painted with your favorite color, however, even without this, the main goal of insulation will be achieved.Timely repair work is a necessity, since cold air can penetrate through the gate, which adversely affects the technical condition of the car. Fortunately, you can carry out routine repairs yourself.There may be several reasons why this type of repair is required. Most often, it is necessary to raise the gate when it is impossible to open it not only in winter due to icing, but also in summer. The easiest way to solve this problem is to trim the gate with subsequent concreting of the passage. However, it is better to carry out a full-fledged repair so as not to reduce the dimensions of the structure.

Dismantle them, free the frame. Before removing the gate from its hinges, it is recommended to wash the mortar between the bricks.

Remove several rows of bricks from the top of the garage opening. Instead of bricks, lay a channel or high-strength corner, which are fixed with anchor bolts. This will keep the gate structure from further deterioration.

In the lower section, slightly raise the dump. You can also fill in the gap between the gate and the floor in another way, for example, by concreting. You can also make a small nut. Remove the old gate.

Weld a metal belt to the gate from the inside.

Replace old hinges with new ones.

In the places where the frame is attached to the wall, it is recommended to install metal corners and fittings.

Install the gate, observing all the rules.

It is necessary to carefully strengthen the door frame to the wall, since this is one of the vulnerable spots of the garage.In some cases, a complete replacement of the gate is necessary. This can happen for many reasons, such as when a structure has become unusable due to rust and decay. The gate replacement process takes only a few hours. During this time, the following works are carried out (after dismantling the old gate):

Installation of the frame. It will give the gate the necessary rigidity and allow the leaves to move easily. First, the installation of the external and internal parts of the frame to the opening is carried out. For this, metal pins with a length of 150 to 180 mm are used (their ends are recommended to be processed with a welding machine, polished and painted).

Carry out additional fastening of the gate with iron bridges. The distance between them should be 2 to 4 cm.

Fixing the sash to the hinges.

Problems arise when the geometry of the gate is violated. You can solve it depending on the cause of the malfunction:

If the hinges have sagged (this usually happens on one side), it is necessary to install an additional washer. To do this, remove the sash, put the washer on the axle, which is located in the lower hinge and return the sash to its place. If it is not possible to perform these steps, then a ball of a suitable diameter must be inserted into the hinge.

If the flaps are skewed, due to which they do not close at the top or bottom. To eliminate this problem on the problematic sash, you need to cut the horizontal beam, cut it down a little, press it against the vertical beam of the frame and weld it. In this case, the welding place must be additionally reinforced to avoid permanent deformations, which can lead to seam divergence.
