We proceed to disassemble the chair. This is not difficult to do - just turn the chair over and look for something to unscrew somewhere:

We measure, make patterns, sew a cover from leather and technical fabric. So the leather is natural, and not a nasty, cold leatherette, we make seams with an inverted outward. In fact, it is not necessary to sew, you can immediately stick a thicker foam rubber on the seat, for example, 8 cm, and cover it with one single piece of fabric.
We proceed to the back. We will definitely not sew anything here. We do the markup, draw rhombuses. We drill holes. 17 pieces turned out
We glue the foam rubber on the back of the chair. Bottom layer in places to create thickening where necessary (for example, I made the lumbar roller higher). The top layer is intact. On the foam rubber, we make the same markings as on the fiberboard backrest, we also drill holes, making sure that they coincide with the holes on the fiberboard.
You will not drill the foam rubber with an ordinary drill. You can, of course, cut it out with a knife, but it turns out more accurately with a drill. I made such a homemade drill for foam rubber, I think it's clear from what and how:
Now comes the most interesting and difficult part. We make a peak on the back. Or, as they also call it, a carriage coupler, aka "capitone". There are many techniques for such a tie, and how to make a coach tie is a separate big topic. Let me just say that you can only learn this by working personally, by trial and error. It is more difficult to lay out the fabric in this technique than the leather, becausefabrics do not stretch in all directions and their elasticity is usually lower. Although the fabric I have chosen does not fit very well, I wanted to create a relief with deep draw-wells. Piked in place, without marking the fabric using two large needles and a cord.

In the event that you carry out repairs in a cool time of the day, the liquid in the gas lift may well freeze - it is strictly forbidden to use it. Wait until the new gas cartridge is at room temperature. To achieve this, you will need to leave it on for about 24 hours.
First of all, use a curly screwdriver to unscrew the seat directly from the piastre or the rocking mechanism.
Flip the chair over, mark the front of your rocking unit.
Remove the 4 screws that secure the chair seat directly to the rocking mechanism and then set the chair body aside.
Dismantle the protective casing, take your gas cartridge in a comfortable hand, the swinging block down.
Use medium blows to tap the rocking mechanism at the very base of the cartridge.
Important! Carefully monitor the degree of flexion of the swing mechanism, do not allow it to bend. If you did not succeed in knocking down the block, try to fix the base of the gas cartridge in the clamp and turn it.
After removing the rocking mechanism, knock out the gas cartridge from the crosspiece.

Slide the protective cover and then the chair body directly onto the rocking mechanism.
