Good time of day! Took the ceiling from the third golf course. I earned money and forgot to take pictures, for which I apologize, but if suddenly anyone is interested, I can describe in detail in the comments
The ceiling itself is made of the same material as the dish from the infusor, so everything is broken and cracked. All this, of course, can be poured with resin with glass, but only the resin eats away at the very shell of the ceiling, so we inject resin with a smaller amount of hardener and cover all fracture areas with glass. If you are going to glue yourself, then be careful with glue, it can also eat away the shell. I can paint about the application of glue, etc.
Next, we clean the ceiling itself from the old coating. Usually it is paralon rubbish with a piece of saggy rag, but with someone else. This saggy rag is best suited. We just grab three.
Then we start gluing. Most use spray glue, but the usual one with a brush is cheaper and in many ways more practical. I start with the windshield where the visors are. First we lay out one side, then the other.
And then I worked hard and forgot to take pictures. Tomorrow in the comments I will leave a photo with the collar and hatch cover plate (if the rating is enough). Ask, I'll tell you everything. All good.

Removing the ceiling is simple, so we immediately proceed to the process of gluing the cladding.
Tools and materials:
- Black carpet 1.5 by 2 meters
- PVA glue
- Brush
- Roller
- Clothespins and paper clips.
Remove the old upholstery and thoroughly clean the surface.
We apply the fabric.About five centimeters should remain at the edges. The specified piece is enough to exceed the length of the ceiling by fifteen centimeters.
It is more convenient to glue in parts. For example, first we glue the middle. While the glue is setting, which we do not spread too thickly, I wash the plastic pads.
It is convenient to use sandbags to press down on the fabric, as they take the shape of the surface.
Carpet is good because it is convenient for them to fit surfaces. (with the second golf it was easier and I used leather)
Now we make the necessary holes and apply the plastic elements.
After some time, you can put the finished ceiling back on the car.
Hello to all! Now, finally, I have matured and my hands have reached!
The very first reason for this act was the inoperability of the hatch - something jammed somewhere!
So: To complete the procedure for removing the roof upholstery, you will need:
1) Phillips screwdriver
2) 2 flat screwdrivers with a small thin "sting" and wider.
1. Carefully and without unnecessary emotions, unscrew all 4 handles on the ceiling.
2.Remove the cover and the plastic sunroof control lamp
3.We reach the sun visors: unscrew the visible bolts
and pay close attention to this part:
4.Remove the plafonds by this method
5. Do not forget that in the sun the protective visors have their own peculiarity of fastening in the roof body, based on the photo, we carefully pull out the visor, not forgetting to disconnect the wiring!
6. Now we disconnect the central struts and a little rear:
7. There were small troubles with this area - patience and everything will be good!
8.The paneling is almost removed - the distance between the roof and the paneling
9. When removing, it should be taken into account that the cover of the hatch is, as it were, bent over the base of the hatch
10. But what we get after we pulled out the roof
11. Through the front door and the front seats, thrown back to the end, take out and pull the trim back:
12. And I was worried about the pillows - they worked or not! I'm all good! Healthy people!
Use it.
But it is interesting when the car is completely disassembled, custom made, etc., how do they solve this troubles?)) On discovery often in all sorts of gears, they throw everything out there))
I think too. take your old ceiling (it has disintegrated into 3 parts), fill it with foam and then glue the new one with fiberglass and epoxy, who muddied the thread ??
I've always thought too. )) it seems to me they do not solve in any way, but they hang it as it is, they just have good ceilings))))) without hatches, cars probably)
have you seen the ceiling on a penny?
Well, on the old years, in principle, too.
he is there not from a molded sheet covered with a rag, but alive 😀
those are roughly a rag pulled (or rather a sandwich) on the knitting needles
so you can make such a ceiling, the main thing is to come up with the fastening of the spokes and edges, because it will be exactly stretched
Well, if there is a ceiling, then we just remove it carefully, glue it from the inside with fiberglass for strength (while gluing together the pieces that cracked during dismantling) and when everything dries up and becomes tough, rip off the native upholstery (like a ladder on foam rubber) and glue it with whatever you like
I will immediately warn against gluing with penofol for softness - this polyethylene piece does not stick to anything.
even though they write everywhere that he glued it with liquid nails, and so on. polyethylene is so disgusting that it does not provide sufficient adhesion: \
I do not think that you constantly have someone head against the ceiling, because its softness can be neglected
rip off the native upholstery (like a ladder on foam rubber) and glue it with whatever you like
but this is superfluous. I have never seen the ceiling pasted over with something more worthwhile than the native upholstery. Therefore, we leave the upholstery native.
All the DIY ceilings I've seen look terrible and cheap. If we are to alter it, then in a special leather or in alcantara (by the way, the last one is also not always ice).
you just haven't seen an Alcantara or flocked ceiling;)))
the native upholstery is glued through thin foam rubber and tends to fall off and bubble
I wrinkle it, and it also burst in the area of the rear doors as if someone rested there with his heels = \
and above the driver's seat, apparently due to a leakage of the hatch, it has come off from the base and makes a disgusting sound on the irregularities (as if it sticks and sticks back), but thank God it doesn’t pop anywhere else
well, well, bubble - et yes) so Mona probably peel it off and re-stick it)))))
By the way, above the visors, on the other hand, there are shorter pieces with a twist and a shade, the ceiling itself seems to be cracked, well, in short, it feels like there are 2 rectangles, and not a solid base, and if you poke them, they seem to stick, and then they stick down. )) In short, I don’t know how to explain. =))))))
And I just want to cover it with good leatherette, in my opinion it should turn out to be norms))
e404
In my opinion, if you do it without a matrix, but just glue the old ceiling, and then tear off the old one, it will not be in size, in the same place the edges go into the sealant. In general, I will try)) it will not work out with the ceiling, I will throw out the whole salon tries, put one chair and a frame and I will drive in the rally))
haha)))))))) Yes, someone will build a rally car and boast, they say, “here the engine muddied up, here the strength frame was welded”. well done, kulibin, of course, only this can always be done, there is nothing to marvel at. But when a person shows a neat ceiling in golf 2, it is worth applause, because those who know what a second golf is, especially with a hatch, understand how difficult it is to fight the ceiling =)
By the way, in my opinion, the only thing that can not be bought either on showdowns or here on the forum = (((((Ceilings are in short supply and no one sells them) Especially black for a 3-door with a hatch)

Yeah)) in fact, golfers do all sports when they can't make a ceiling))))
Tyk, here I just have a three-door with a hatch (((Yes, I don't live in MSC yet, no one will bother to forward. (((((((((((((((

Yes, they are not even in Moscow, so don't worry! 😉

I finally decided to do something with the ceiling of my sock. Obviously, they tried to wash him and he hung with a "belly".
The previous owner smoked in the car and its color is poor. The horror is shorter.
I chose a fabric - gabardine. I will say right away - the fabric is thin and not very suitable for the ceiling, as Lawyer said to me in principle.
All that my wife and I could do with this fabric.
At the same time I have long wanted to put lampshades from G4 - central and rear side ones.
These are the devices lolik fitted me with metal frames and wiring from G4 - all that is needed for the installation.
To remove the ceiling, you need to remove almost all of the interior elements above the waistline.
He took off the visors (cross screwdriver) and the shade (fingers).
Ceiling handles (plastic wedge, cross screwdriver)
Now the ceiling only holds plastic.
I start to emboss from the middle rack - with your fingers from the outer edges. Old German plastic stsuko strong - bo-bo fingers.
To completely dismantle the middle plastic stand - release the belt (head 17), then screw it back
We unscrew the black self-tapping screws on the B-pillar and slide out the plastic of the front pillars - with our fingers from the outer edges. We do not lose the mortgages - we put them in a bag.
We throw out the plastic of the rear pillars above the doors, there is no need further - it makes no sense. The ceiling hangs.
Embroider the rear strip above the trunk lid to free the edge of the headlining.
The ceiling has been removed. We take out through the 5th door. The noise is not rotten - that's good!
We take the plastic and the ceiling home. We wipe the ceiling.
We expand the hole for the G4 plafond in the shape of the frame - do not overdo it!
Cut out the holes for the rear lights. Chose the rear seats for the door handles. At the front, they will rest against the roof reinforcement. Thank you Luz!
Sticking.
For gluing, I used Estonian PVA glue and a brush (wrong - use a roller).
Due to the fact that the fabric is thin and light glue appeared with gray strokes, it turned out to be a kind of modern, plus it wrinkles a little.
For difficult places, the wife used bags of salt - the salt takes shape and presses down on the fabric.
In general, it turned out the following, I am satisfied, do not scold too much!
Insert the rear lights
Found just such a sticker on the back of the ceiling
We lay the wiring harness
The ceiling dried for two days. I washed the plastic at the same time.
We put it in the reverse order. I'll say right away - it's difficult to bet alone, sekas, a lot of sekas
We insert the ceiling starting from the trunk, click the rear bar above the trunk. We insert the mortgages into the bar.
Gradually click in the plastic of the C-pillar. We insert the mortgages into the bar. We center the ceiling.
We connect the electrics. The plus from the ignition switch remains unclaimed - now the light will go out immediately after the doors are closed. Plafond from G4 for three contacts.
We check - it works! Eat!
We click the plastic in reverse order, not forgetting the mortgages. We put handles, visors.
Final result. Fashionable, stylish, youthful. The toad presses to give 500 UAH.
A collection of manuals for repairing a Volkswagen Golf with your own hands. Found more than 360.

It's no secret that golf has a weak spot. Native fabric from the ceiling sagged a year and a half ago, but only now we have reached our hands. Anyway, the car will be under repair for another week, and this is the weekend.
It just so happened that I and ‘neatly’ are two completely incompatible things. In short, when removing, the ceiling was broken by my crooked hands. For the repair, it was decided to use ceiling tile adhesive, liquid nails and gauze (for strengthening).Today I came to the garage and began to conjure. I glued it on the back with adhesive tape, and began to cover up the places of breakdowns with liquid nails. When they dried up, I was already glad that I succeeded, but as soon as I raised the ceiling to turn it over, it broke again. At that time he came to me and said that nothing good would come of it for me. It was decided to remove all my 'creations', re-glue everything with tape and fill all the fractures with glue for ceiling tiles. They did so and left the ceiling to dry. it came out we'll see tomorrow. Maybe someone faced such a problem? Bench Press Program on this page.

A lot of preparation discount required! the standard strip of the vibration damper has become unusable.
The door is ready for processing:
The VIBROFILTER was selected for processing. The treated surface of the door is about 0.5 sq. M.
An important point that I would like to focus on is the quality of the styling
In the photo Vibration filter DO:
Internal surface treated with VIBROFILTER:
Sound absorber - ISOLON 3008. Treatment area about 0.5 sq. M.
"Moving" wires are processed with POLY FOAM (PP) and are attached to the door frame:
Those. the hole is closed with FOLLOW ISOLON 3004, rods in the corrugation are 0.5 mm., small unused holes are closed with foil tape:
In fact, only one name remained from native clips for 27 years:
Replacing clips with more powerful ones:
Each clip in the fit is reinforced with mastic: (extra rigidity will not hurt)
The first impression of a light knock on the roof surface is the strongest RINGING over the entire roof area. (This phenomenon is often found in new VAZ 2114-2115) The reason is the receding ribs of rigidity !!
The complexity of the processing of the ceiling: HINGED ceiling, and that says it all! Removing glass, etc.
Regular felt throughout the area! And this is in a 1981 car:
That would be the manufacturers of new jeeps to take note:
The assumption about the separated stiffening ribs was correct:
Ways to eliminate such a defect are different (the pros and cons of these can be discussed for a long time)
We eliminate the course of the ribs with spacers.
VIBROFILTER was used for processing the ceiling
We inherited from the previous owners a toilet with a toilet bowl walled up to the middle, a cast-iron bathtub with three legs with a rotten siphon walled up in concrete and other simple and affordable amenities of communal apartments.
The first step was to tackle the toilet, since in this configuration it was completely impossible to use the toilet. Over the course of several evenings, I smashed the concrete hole around the toilet, and at the same time the plaster fell off the wall. Then the white electrical tape could not stand, and the toilet cistern, which was holding on to this tape, fell off.
I had to build a temporary shelf and put a tank on it.
While I was picking the concrete around the toilet, a tab around the risers fell through, opening a rather large window to the smelly basement for us.
The hole was filled with concrete and then summer came. Bicycle-motorcycle-vacation. At the same time, we made repairs in the kitchen.
It was possible to continue repairs in the toilet and bathroom only at the end of autumn.
So, I will write in more detail what we need to repair the toilet and bathroom with our own hands:
- buckets for the mixture;
- 17 bags of plaster;
- 3 bags of tile glue;
- sand concrete 8 bags;
- penetrating primer;
- concrete contact;
- Master OK;
- two-meter rule;
- garbage bags;
- puncher;
- SDS + adapter / regular cartridge;
- mixer for mixes;
- grinder;
- construction beacons;
- hammer;
- chisel;
- cable (20m * 3x2.5, 20m * 3 * 1.5);
- socket boxes;
- sockets;
- spatulas;
- tile;
- grout;
- dye;
- glue for aerated concrete (1 bag);
- aerated concrete blocks;
- glass blocks;
- a team of workers from the near abroad.
First of all, we demolish the doors, jambs, tear off the plastic from the ceiling and from the walls. We knock down the old plaster with a puncher.We are settling the conflict with the neighbors (yes, we will no longer hammer from 10 to 17 without interruption). We knock down the tiles from the floor. We throw out the bath, remove the pipes, cover everything with a primer.
Since we decided to move the door a little, we saw the wall with a disc on the stone, wait a couple of hours for the dust to settle and visibility is restored. We lay the unnecessary part of the opening with gas blocks.
We expose beacons. We plaster first between the lighthouses, then the corners. Fill the floor.
At the same time, with the help of a plumber, we make new inputs from the risers and begin to assemble the plumbing cabinet.
We cut, lay wires and pipes behind the bathroom, install sockets and water sockets. Let's not forget about the sewerage system.
We lay the window between the bathroom and the toilet with glass blocks. We do it beautifully))
We put the tiles on the floor. The hard workers took the wrong tile. We tear it off, clean it, put it in the toilet. We put the necessary tiles in the bathroom, put the bathtub, then put the tiles from the bathtub up and down.
It remains to paint the ceiling and install the doors! There were no doors of the required style, so they had to order their production in the Moscow region.
At the moment, it remains to make a cabinet behind the toilet and install the toilet itself, a sanitary shower, a sink in the bathroom, a washing machine, faucets, an electrician and make a sink for the toilet.
A week and a half of tough remoting trash, destruction and creation has passed. There is very little left!

Konstantin About the rear axle on golf is a very philosophical question. Because golf is front-wheel drive, and there is no bridge there and cannot be. And to determine the cost of service can only be based on the state. I took myself a car in good condition Pts, but it’s not new, there’s not new, periodically one thing or the other. Spare parts are relatively inexpensive, comparable in price to ten. Almost everything is in stock and almost always. Many interchangeable with the Audi 80, Opel. The car is very reliable, there are no unexpected breakdowns, the detail about the intention to break is warned in advance. The repair is also not difficult, the car is not fancy, almost everything can be done even on your own. An example of spare parts and consumables - oil filter 250, fuel filter - 200, front pads - 700, outer CV joint - 1800, rack - 2500, hydraulic compensator - 250 rubles. If you find it in good condition, you won't regret it!
Sergei Germans are of course expensive, but very reliable!
Alena No.
Spare parts from Skoda fit, and if I'm not mistaken, there are plenty of them.
IMHO no, a friend bought it from me and is happy.
Anna With a rear axle, there is a hassle. But you will not regret a good car
Ivan If, of course, she was not killed in the trash, then very much even nothing. Penny consumables
Zinaida No, absolutely.
Many parts are interchangeable.
Kirill The car is excellent, just find out its past, how it was serviced by who drove it and how there are a lot of original and non-original spare parts for this car! ! To repair practically the same way as a bicycle, but there are more parts, you will not regret taking it.

So.
Indications for action:
A sagging and dirty rag of the ceiling, fastened with buttons to a hard base, as a result of THOROUGHLY cleaning two years ago with the "Vanish" tool. Why THOROUGH, but because his wife decided to clean it THREE. Times.
IT IS BETTER TO PERFORM ALL ACTIONS WITH A WARM CABIN, TO REDUCE THE QUANTITY OF BROKEN PLASTIC !!
Actions:
After reviewing the search for the word "KELID", an entot glue was bought for Vinyl and some other wallpapers with a pink indicator (a pack on the market cost 80 rubles). Further, the removal of the ceiling itself.Looking ahead, I will say that the procedure is, in principle, not complicated and even at the first time it takes about 1 hour.
Sequence:
Removal of the ceiling.
I want to say right away that it is better to carry out this action together, because there is a chance to break the lintel in front of the ceiling. She is very thin. Why I warn you, but because I just broke it, but more about the repair.
- Remove the headrest of the backrest of the passenger seat, lower the backrest, and MAXIMUM. We move back the passenger seat, the concept of maximum asassation with the appearance of a gap between the lower part of the backrest and the side pillar.
Maybe he didn’t quite clearly explain, but when you try to remove the ceiling it will be clear.
- We take out the ceiling from the car through the rear right door, ALWAYS bending it with an arc, but CONTROLLING THE BENDING OF THE FRONT HEADLINK LINKER, so that it does not break.
- The ceiling is taken out!
Washing the rag cover.
- Having placed the ceiling on a flat surface, carefully peel off the rag cover. It peels off quite easily, I peeled it off evenly across the entire width of the ceiling.
- After removing the "rag" its inner side is all sticky and in the remnants of the sound-absorbing coating of the base of the ceiling.
- We take "Vanish" (at my dacha it was like a powder in a pink plastic jar), we dilute it according to the instructions (I even slightly increased the proportion of Vanish in the solution) in a basin.
- Soak the ceiling "rag" in it for at least an HOUR.
- After an hour, all the stickiness and crumb residues are at the bottom of the basin. (If dirt remains, you can rub the dirt with a nap brush)
- THOROUGHLY. We rinse (I rinsed 10 times, the washing machine is a pity, it could get clogged) until the last crumbs disappear from the "rag".
- And we wash in the Machine on a Delicate wash with the addition of the same Vanish, according to the instructions on the label.
- Next, dry the rag by attaching it to a stretched rope along the LENGTH.
Edging making.
- After the ceiling has dried, gaps may appear between the edges of the hard base and the cloth. We glue them with pre-purchased tape. And along the side edges of the ceiling, I just glued the tape, without its "bend" and, accordingly, without gluing the remaining width of the tape on the back of the ceiling. This was done on purpose, because the ceiling “tightly” fits into the body, and along the side edges there are technological cutouts and incisions, and it is not possible to glue high-quality adhesive tape to the back of the ceiling.
- Because I have a hatch, then I glued tape along the perimeter of the hatch cutout, but then I already glued it on the back side. Rounded arcs at the corners of the cutout are also not difficult to make, but it is not possible to glue them on the other side.
We rejoice at the NEW ceiling, smoke and put it back in the car. The fastening technology is the opposite of the removal technology, but changes in the installation are possible according to your taste.
The whole procedure took me 30 hours, of which 18 hours dried the glue, but since I was limited to 2 days of time, then I put the ceiling to the battery, but I think if there is time it is better not to do this.
As for the resulting edging with adhesive tape, it is now practically invisible, except for the cutout where the hatch is, and even this does not strike the eye.
In general, the procedure is not very complicated, and the look of the NEW salon adds satisfaction and pride in the work done.
Good luck to all,
Alexei
