DIY bee trailer repair

In detail: do-it-yourself bee trailer repair from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.

Time of action Spring 2013.
During its existence, and this is not a few 25 years, the undercarriage has never been repaired and it was painted for the last time 10 years ago.

In this regard, it was decided to carry out a major overhaul.

I thought that for so many years everything will get attached and you will unscrew the figs
but everything went like clockwork the bolts were oiled
before assembling in the last painting, I was very happy about it.

Turned the trailer upside down

And the most interesting thing began - complete disassembly of the chassis
for a start, the wheels were dismantled, the nuts must be unscrewed through one of all, 6 must be unscrewed, if you unscrew all or the wrong ones, you can get a half of the disk spelled, since the rest of the bolts fasten 2 halves of the disk and clamp the rubber and it is pumped up to 2.2 atmospheres).

The only jamb that came out during work, that I could not pull out the lever bolt and remove it, WD 40 did not help, we sawed off the bolt with a Bulgarian.

For now, wait for the whole assembly in the second part with new details, namely:
Additional springs, presumably they are back from the oka - 2 turns.
New Shock Absorbers
New Silent blocks made of fluoroplastic (new ones simply cannot be found)
Lanterns UAZ (Hand-Made LEDs)
New Mudguards (were removed from my field)

Part two (assembly)
ON THIS ALL, ALL Smooth ROADS, NOT A NAIL, NOT A WAND.

Hello everyone! Today we are considering a Pchelka trailer designed for cars. I will say right away that this is not a huge trailer that does not have an impressive carrying capacity, body dimensions or loading area. This is a compact, practical and quite convenient option for those who are engaged in gardening and gardening, needing a compact trailer for transporting a small amount of cargo.

Video (click to play).

Let's do it like this. I will tell you about its technical characteristics and options for what modification is possible for the Bee. The factory design is not bad, and the price in the secondary market is acceptable, which makes it possible to buy a buzzbox in excellent condition among the options.

To begin with, it is not difficult to purchase such a trailer for a passenger car, since they are available in Moscow, St. Petersburg, somewhere in Bashkiria, in the city of Ufa and in almost any other city.

Take a Bee on the secondary market through Avito and Internet ads, or look for a new sample, decide for yourself. The main thing is to competently approach the choice of a used and a new vehicle, so that all documents for the trailer are available, and in terms of the state there are no questions.

With this sorted out. Now we turn to the Bee herself.

Image - DIY bee trailer repair

The manufacturer is the Nefaz plant. It is located in the city of Neftekamsk, which does not prevent Pchelka from being in demand throughout the country and abroad.

The main purpose of the Bee, or, more correctly, NEFAZ 8122, is the transportation of small cargo, work in the garden and out-of-town trips. The dimensions of the body provide for the operation of NEFAZ in passenger cars. Having hooked it to Pajero or even UAZ Patriot, such a combination will look ridiculous. But on Renault Logan, for example, the Bee fits perfectly.

The body is made of sheet metal by welding together with a rectangular tube. The front and rear boards are folding, which is very useful and convenient. If the situation requires, you can overturn the NEFAZ relative to its hinge for fixing the drawbar.

It is hardly worth expecting that there will be more than one axle. But the question of choosing between a single-axle and a two-axle trailer is generally controversial if you have a car.

The trailer is equipped with a pair of wheel chocks, which can be replaced with a support wheel if desired.But we have already switched to tuning. Still early. Wait.

Image - DIY bee trailer repair

The 8122 is available in several configurations. The NEFAZ device differs depending on the additional components:

  • The simplest design goes without an awning;
  • There is an option with a high awning and an extension frame;
  • Another type of equipment will be the Bee with a low awning;
  • The top-end equipment has an extension frame and both versions of the awning (low and high). Image - DIY bee trailer repair

If you are using a low tarpaulin, it is pulled over the body itself and secured with strapping hooks.

In the presence of a high awning, then an overhead frame and strapping hooks are used to tension it.

Both tent options are removable, so you can use them as needed.

If you look at the operating manual and study the technical parameters of NEFAZ 8122, you will understand that this is really a trailer not for Napoleonic plans. It is compact, convenient, lightweight, ideal for everyday tasks where a huge load capacity is not required.

Image - DIY bee trailer repair

But let's be specific. I will give some figures, and you will already draw the appropriate conclusions for yourself.

  • The bee is capable of carrying cargo weighing up to 203 kg;
  • The body of the 8122 has a volume of 0.6 cubic meters;
  • If you use an extension frame, the volume increases to 1.44 m3;
  • And the area will be 1.81 m2;
  • The equipped trailer weighs 122 kg;
  • Its gross weight is 325 kg;
  • The axle load is 295 kg, and the hitch is only 30 kg;
  • The suspension scheme here is independent spring, rests on the wishbones and has a pair of friction dampers of the resulting vibrations;
  • There are only one axle and two wheels;
  • As much as possible in a car, if there is a Bee behind, you can accelerate to 80 kilometers per hour.

This is approximately what NEFAZ looks like, if we take into account the real numbers and design features.

This will be fine for many, as evidenced by the reviews. Although you look at some photos of the Bees, you study different videos from homemade ones, and you think that you also want to improve your little trailer.

If the trailer does not require major repairs, that is, it is in a fairly good technical condition, it makes sense to work on it, make some changes.

With the use and aging of the Bee, you understand that it is not eternal, and its design is not so perfect. Therefore, replacement of some elements is required. The same hub bearing begins to actively make noise and interfere with normal driving.

I offer several options for how you can improve the Bee and do it yourself.

  • Alteration of the suspension. I noticed that many owners have NEFAZ 8122 on springs instead of the old factory suspension. There is logic in this, since when choosing a suitable axle for a trailer, it is in favor of the spring option that many are inclined. They are more practical, more durable, capable of withstanding more serious overloads. But they require careful maintenance, so weigh the pros and cons;

Image - DIY bee trailer repair

    Replacement of optics. Standard lights leave much to be desired in terms of both external and technical parameters. You can take any set of rear lights for trailers, modify it with LED strip for decoration. The main thing here is not to overdo it, so that the Bee does not turn into a Christmas tree;

Image - DIY bee trailer repair

  • Bottom treatment. Strengthening the suspension also requires refinement of the body itself. Start with the bottom, which is best covered with rubber-bitumen mastic. This will reduce the noise level and protect the metal and the delights of our roads. Extend service life significantly;
  • Painting. The most banal advice on improving the Bee, the most effective in terms of changing the appearance. It is not necessary to paint in black and yellow. Yet this is not Bumblebee (translated, by the way, Bumblebee), but Bee. Start from the color of the car body or from your taste preferences.

This, perhaps, is all. If you have any other suggestions for improvement, I will gladly check them out in the comments.

Hello. I read here, many people have encountered the problem of registering a trailer without documents. now and I am pushed with it. bought a trailer bee 8122. no documents at all. I’m thinking where to start .. I’m looking for an operating manual, maybe someone has it. if there is, send it to the e-mail thanks in advance.

Hello Sergey, I have a similar situation, I want to follow your example. Please throw off e-mail. mail: instruction manual, certificate of acceptance (write-how you made the seal, court decision, sales contract, refusal from the traffic police, the text of the statement of claim for a sample, otherwise it is difficult to see here.

I share my experience of registering a trailer without documents:

Passed the way according to the experience described by Sergei.

Today was the trial. And the judge refused to recognize the ownership of me.

The story is absolutely identical. My father had a Bee trailer. Purchased in 1995. Not registered. We drew up a contract. The traffic police refused to register. He filed a claim with the magistrate.

The judge refused. The father does not have supporting documents (certificate invoice or title and check) for his trailer. Clause 2 of Article 218 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation reads: "The right of ownership of property owned by the owner can be acquired by another person on the basis of a sale and purchase agreement, exchange, donation or other transaction on the alienation of this property."

The key point in this article is “Ownership of property that * has an owner *”.

Those. the person from whom you are purchasing the property must have supporting documents. Those. in our case, my father needs to apply to the city court with an application for recognition as its legal owner based on article 234 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation. Clause 1 of Article 234 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation states: “A person - a citizen or a legal entity - who is not the owner of the property, but in good faith, openly and continuously owns both his own real estate for fifteen years or other property for five years, acquires the right of ownership of this property (acquisitive prescription). " Let's go this way.

I hope my case will help to avoid unnecessary nerves and time for people who find themselves in a similar situation.

Modified the Pchelka trailer for transporting the Karelia canoe.
Made a new long drawbar with a canoe stand, an outrigger bumper with a stand, taillights and a license plate.

And here are some of the stages of finalizing the trailer.
... skp = 0 & pwd =

With this trailer I hit the road for fishing in Finland, 2200 km, of which 2000 in Russia.
At customs on both sides, there were no questions for revision.
On the way back, he was stopped by a traffic cop to check the documents for the car and boat, he did not even have any questions about the design of the trailer.
The speed was kept at 80 - 90 km / h.
I accelerated to 120 km / h a couple of times to check how the canoe trailer holds the road.
I'm happy with the result.
Average gas mileage increased by only 1 - 1.2 liters.

The Pchelka car trailer is designed for small household transportation, for use in the garden and for trips to the countryside. The trailed body, popular among the consumers of the country, is suitable for all types of passenger cars. The official marking of the NEFAZ 8122 product corresponds to the name of the manufacturer - the Nefaz plant, which is located in Neftekamsk.

The Pchelka trailer differs from its analogues by its compactness, ease of use and versatility.

Technical parameters of NEFAZ 8122:

  • Uniaxial design with two wheels;
  • Dump body;
  • Drawbar design - straight;
  • Maximum lifting capacity - 200 kg:
  • Curb weight - 125 kg;
  • Gross weight of a light trailer - 325 kg;
  • Dimensions (edit) - 1.2x1.6 m:
  • Rear and front wall type: folding;
  • Due to the folding elements, the length increases to 2.4 m;
  • Effective area is 1.8 m 2;
  • Working space standard - 0.6 m 3;
  • Top frame volume - 1.44 m 3;
  • Maximum load on the coupling mechanism - 30 kg;
  • Maximum axle load - 295 kg;
  • Speed limit of movement - 80 km / h.

The body is a welded sheet metal structure reinforced with a rectangular shaped tube. Two folding sides at the front and rear expand the possibilities of the light trailer. If necessary, the "Bee" turns relative to the fixing hinge and overturns.

The independent suspension of the Pchelka light trailer includes friction shock absorbers to reduce vibrations, wishbones and springs.

During the operation of the vehicle, shortcomings are identified that must be taken into account. The Pchelka trailer has a low carrying capacity due to its weak structure. And the trailer does not get into the side view mirrors, which creates difficulties when driving. It is not recommended to drive with an empty body on the highway, because it bounces a lot and can roll over. This is the fault of the air dampers, which do not work on uneven roads.

Image - DIY bee trailer repair

The list of major weaknesses includes:

  • Single row wheel hub bearings with increased noise level.
  • The hub bearing itself is rusty and poorly understood.
  • The wheels contain discs made of thin metal, which quickly fail when the wheel is flat.
  • Wheels also have a small resource of work, which is reduced from pumping and overheating, overloading and erasure.
  • Over time, a backlash appears in the coupling mechanism.

Light trailer Nefaz 8122 is available for purchase in various configuration options.

Image - DIY bee trailer repair

  • Board without awning - basic, simple design;
  • Additional low awning;
  • With an extension frame and a high awning;
  • With two types of awnings (low and high) and a frame.

The low tarpaulin is pulled directly onto the body and secured to the strapping hooks.

An extension frame rises above the sides, increasing the usable volume. An awning is pulled over it and fixed using strapping hooks.

Both types of awnings can be easily and quickly removed and installed on the "Pchelka" independently.

During the operation of a passenger vehicle, there is a desire to fix and improve something. In most cases, alterations affect the following nodes:

Image - DIY bee trailer repair

  • Lighting system;
  • Suspension unit;
  • Hanger on cables for the tailgate;
  • Strengthening the underbody;
  • Additional stand under the board;
  • New protective and decorative coating.

Skillful owners of the Pchelka trailer are trying to replace the old suspension with a spring one. This design is more practical, load-resistant and durable. But it is also more difficult to maintain.

The factory-installed flashlights do not meet the operational requirements in terms of technical characteristics and design. Any light set for light trailers is suitable for replacement. Additionally, you can decorate the structure with LED strip.

For convenient loading and unloading, it is worth fixing a couple of cables that will hold the tailgate. Under the front guard, some owners weld a piece of pipe to the drawbar to use it as a support when open.

The new, more powerful suspension entails body refinement in terms of reinforcement. In order to protect the metal from corrosion, the lower part of the bottom is treated with rubber-bitumen mastic. This procedure will also help reduce driving noise.

The final stage of all efforts is painting, which can immediately transform the "Pchelka" trailer. It is recommended to choose a color scheme to match or harmonize with the color of the car.

I have a trailer called bzzhilka. I have been using it for a long time, but it had a significant drawback, with a rather large capacity of 2.1 * 1.65m, a ridiculous carrying capacity. Something there is 200-250kg.

Another significant drawback, I think, are small wheels, which are also not designed for high load and speed.

This summer I revamped it a bit.

After much deliberation, I had to abandon my native beam. Since simply drilling and inserting bolts under the Zhiguli disks did not solve the problem. New wheels simply will not fit, they either need to be deployed, which is not enough for me, or cut and lengthen the beam.

I went the other way. I bought two hubs assembled and with rear axles from 8-9 Zhiguli. They are fixed there with 4 bolts. Bearings there are not tapered, do not require tightening and adjustment.

For the beam, I took an 80mm channel, whose size in my case became 70mm longer from the native beam.

I marked the right angles at the ends with a corner and carefully cut it off with a grinder. I checked the right angle with the corner of all the edges of the cut, this is important. can be sharpened if necessary.

He removed the hubs from the axles so as not to overheat the bearings during welding. Probably better to take them separately.

Attached the hub to the channel, grabbed it by welding in two places and checked the perpendicularity with a corner. This is important, it is necessary to check in two planes, so that the wheel then stands correctly without distortions and convergence. Boiled on the outside, then boiled on the inside. Here we must try not to overheat the metal of the axle.

I did the same on the other side of the beam.

On the trailer, I did not remove my own springs, I left the entire harness with shock absorbers. Separately from the corner (25) I made 4 cups according to the size of the springs. Used springs from the rear suspension of the four. They had to be cut and drilled 4 holes for the mounting bolts in the lower bowls. The upper ones were welded to the trailer instead of the supporting boxes, which had to be cut off.

Bolted the new beam and lower bowls to the springs. There they had to adjust the plates and drill holes in the channel.

Then, using special fasteners, I inserted the springs. I put the hubs in place, tightened the nut and pinned them. Put on new wheels. I thought I would have to raise the wings, but the distance turned out to be great, even at full load. Although of course you have to redo it, you have to think about those who are driving behind.

The trailer passed the test of a long trip, took honey to Arkhangelsk. There and back 4000 km. Loading there 600 kg, back 0.6 cubes of a board. Image - DIY bee trailer repair

Of course you can, but where to get it, we do not have it on sale.Everything that I have used can be bought at a car dealership, and on a building base. There are thin-walled pipes, even gas pipes do not inspire confidence. I thought about the plate, but did not complicate it.

The impression of the operation. The fact that the carrying capacity has increased, I already wrote. The trailer has also become lighter on the move.

Interesting topic. Maybe someone saw that there used to be agricultural trailers without springs, springs and shock absorbers.
The unevenness of the road was extinguished due to the construction of the hanger. They had 4 wheels. I don't know how to draw, I will try to explain it that way. Imagine a triangular plate with two wheel hubs attached to the bottom corners. The upper corner of the plate is attached to the hub of the axle (beam) of the trailer. The trailer axle is rigidly attached to the frame. It turns out that on each side of the trailer a pair of wheels sways on the axle. All wheels under the trailer.
Maybe someone has seen or made such a construction or knows the correct name.

The Bee trailer is a primitive unit that never required special treatment. But driving around Russia, for 20 years, he left a clear track and in the hands of responsible and skillful car owners returned to a new life more than once.

The owners admit that they did not regret at all, dooming the towed device with the children's name "Pchelka" to the most difficult operating conditions:

  • Excessive weight overload.
  • Exceeding the speed limit.
  • Extreme rough terrain towing.
  • Harsh storage and preservation conditions.

Since the unit, due to the simplicity of the device, could not even be a donor for other equipment, its fate after another lost battle with the road was repeated again and again - restoration.

With a chance to see a new, unused model, you can immediately understand that Napoleonic plans are fading into oblivion.

  • Low carrying capacity.
  • Weak performance of the material.
  • Zero visibility in side mirrors.

Or maybe that is why motorists load it in excess of the norm. They want to feel with their body that the Pchelka trailer is behind. They probably didn't read these modest numbers:
