Adjust the electric gearbox. You have in stock regulators - XX pressure (2) and gas volume (2). It is necessary to adhere to the following algorithm of actions:
- switch to gasoline, turn on the car and warm up the engine to 95 degrees;
- set the speed at around 900-1100 rpm and turn off the fuel supply (in this case, gasoline);
- set the initial positions of the adjusting screws: set the dispenser to the extreme mark, turn the regulator XX (2) to the end and then turn it exactly 5 turns, turn the regulator 1 to the end.
- transfer control to gas and turn on the car. Set the speed of the power unit to a mark in the region of 2 thousand by means of the suction;
- little by little put back the suction and unscrew the XX regulator (2). Do this until you get the best engine RPM. What does it mean? Turn screw 2 until the revolutions stop increasing. Stop when you reach this goal;
- operate in the described order until the suction is completely sunk in;
- turn the adjusting screw (2) evenly. It is necessary to achieve such a state that the sum of the revolutions becomes presumably the same as when running on gasoline. When adjusting, you must remember that after turning the knob, the reaction to changes is not observed instantly, but after a while. This means that it is imperative to pause.
Adjust the sensitivity of the gearbox. Everything is simple here. Turn the adjusting screw (1) up to a decrease (increase) in the speed of XX (again, do not forget about the delay).Following this, turn the regulator back slightly - by 1.25 rpm. Then try to push the gas properly. Perfect if the car immediately reacts to your actions.
However, here it is important not to forget one more thing. If the adjusting screw "1" has not been tightened well enough, it is preferable to leave it intact. Among other things, provided that the engine capacity is less than 3 liters, then it is also better not to touch the described screw.
Adjust the dispenser. To this end:
- set the number of revolutions at around 3500. Accordingly, it is preferable to involve an assistant in the process and ask him to press the gas (do not use the suction). No helpers found? It is necessary to secure the throttle cable using a screwdriver;
- turn the adjusting screw until changes in rpm appear. Turn the screw to the left and to the right in order to make sure that all actions were carried out correctly;
- turn the screw while the rpm is increasing. As soon as the rotation stops producing results, you need to stop;
- from now on, turn the screw 0.75 vol. from the limiting indicator.
- call the assistant and ask him to press the gas. Do not forget to turn screw 2 1/4 turn at the same time. There should be a feeling of a slight decrease in speed;
- turn the sensitivity screw half a turn;
- re-adjust the dispenser.
Measure the level of carbon dioxide in the exhaust. The standard is around 0.35%. Are the numbers too high? Tighten screw XX on the gearbox and increase the air injection (for this, use a special screw on the carburetor). If a reduced speed is observed, the opposite action should be taken.

A simplified method used when repairing HBO 2nd generation with your own hands (Lovato brand) - the basics of setting (a sensitivity bolt in combination with a greed bolt):
- The diaphragm sensitivity bolt is completely screwed in to a slight stop.
- Then unscrew the sensitivity bolt 5 turns from the twisted position.

LPG computer units of more modern designs and leading manufacturers, for example, Lovato, have built-in diagnostics of the approximate length of the leak, which works by comparing the data of sensors, pressure gauges, a gas level sensor and outlet fuses for this case.
In difficult cases, the remaining fuel is automatically removed through the ventilation box located on the multivalve cover, in the direction opposite to the passenger compartment.
Those who plan to eliminate the consequences of depressurization with their own hands need to take into account the design features and the nature of the damage. The joint with a nipple or nut, which began to pass streams of gas, can be further tightened, and if it does not help, then cut it off directly with a piece of hose and solder the replacement.
For tapered threads (the same Gazelle is often used), it can be covered with a protective layer of lead litharge or special glue-sealant. A threaded or flanged connection usually achieves tightness through the use of rubber gaskets. Usually, replacing the gasket (which wears out regularly and loses its elasticity, dulls) is enough to continue its full functioning. It is recommended to replace the high-pressure hose as a whole, this is a non-separable connection, and the increased load on the walls will squeeze out any patch. The vapor phase comes across only in the channels of the gearbox, the outlet union of the injectors, the intake manifold and the hoses between them. In all cases, do-it-yourself repair of gas equipment is completely identical, while diagnostics is easier: there is more than one sensor, and the problem can be localized in more detail.
Problems with starting the engine and pops at the time of ignition occur when the gas-air mixture is too lean or rich in one of the components: too much gas in the intake manifold due to problems with the closure of the multivalve or reducer and a leak in the return valve of the mixer.
Depletion of fuel is provoked by air leakage, damaged gas injection channel and blockage of the idle airlock with foreign debris. In the most severe version, the lambda probe sensor is broken. In the event of severe damage to the LPG and leaks from the output of the reducer or the hose supplying the injection, the pressure drops so much that any procedure is terminated and the engine stalls.
Sagging acceleration and gear shifting, idling jumps and increased gas consumption with jerks at the moment of movement due to improper adjustment of the gearbox using screws or a computer program are described in detail in a separate article covering the work on setting up the system. A thorough reconfiguration of the entire controller is required, until nothing terrible happens. In addition to a loose adjustment, such a symptom indicates that, perhaps, the sensor is broken, clogged, or the hose is leaking, the collector return valve is loose.
The dips in engine load after idling and the problem with opening the throttle valves are also the fault of the impoverished fuel mixture.
Is the gas supply delayed, and an uneven injection from the nozzles into the injectors begins (the problem comes across, it happens on a Gazelle car)? This can be dealt with by re-adjusting the opening time of the check valve in the mixer and accelerating the start by selecting the optimal speed. But this will only delay the development of the malfunction into a serious headache, because this is a malfunction of the constipation of the multivalve, evaporator or collector: sticking of the valve to the seat, accumulation of oily condensate and similar events make it difficult to open, it slows down.
If everything is left to chance, then depressurization of the collector unloading may occur due to the strong rarefaction and the complete impossibility of starting the car. To remove the failure, each valve, seat and all assemblies of the manifold and multivalve are completely disassembled and cleaned, excess condensate on the evaporator is removed, the discharge is checked pneumatically for impermeability and, if the result is negative, completely replaced.
A decrease in engine performance in a car is associated with clogging of internal filters, which are constantly clogged with heavy sticky impurities.
Littering of the multi-valve and reducer-evaporator gas locks, intermediate lines and pipes is also possible. All this leads to a depletion of the gas-air mixture and to insufficient injection of the injectors.
Computer diagnostic systems, which are equipped with representatives of modern gas equipment from the 4th generation and above, allow you to diagnose with your own hands as a whole system of any car, be it a Gazelle or another, the state of the units separately and quite well imagine the nature of the difficulty even before dismantling and disassembling. Unless, of course, the built-in sensor or the probe that takes the data is out of order, this already refers to very complex breakdowns, which only professionals can successfully work with. A manual check, for example, with a non-startable engine or a representative of the old generation of LPG equipment, is carried out with compressed air, adjusting the pressure with a pressure gauge and controlling the stroke in the gearbox with your own hands, using it as an improvised sensor.
This is not a complete list of what a professional, well-trained mechanic with sufficient experience and equipment can do with a defective LPG, but we have tried to highlight the most typical and urgent problems that drivers face every day.
