Gs 8306 stopped turning on completely after the update. Maybe both LEDs are lit on the display and then the receiver hangs. All this suggests that the receiver has lost boot sectors, it simply broke. If, as a result of the diagnostics, it was confirmed that the matter was in the flash memory, then we are doing the procedure to restore our receiver to working condition.

We disassemble the receiver, we prepare our main board for repair.

We turn on the soldering station, take a hair dryer and begin to warm up the element that we need to remove. In this repair, we are interested in W25Q128BV.

After we removed the microcircuit from the main board, we proceed to programming. To do this, we need a programmer and a corresponding socket - an adapter.

We insert into the programmer, turn on the program. We look for the device to recognize our flash drive.

programming W25Q128BV on chipprog 48

If everything is in order and the contact is good, then you can upload a new dump to the memory of the microcircuit. ChipProg-48 during operation will show what state it is in, if there is an error, the red indicator will light up.

Good day. Nikolai is writing to you from Tolyatti. Faced the same problem as you describe in the article. For the solution, there is not enough file with the latest firmware, 1.9.160. I found only version 1.2.001 on the Internet. If you don't mind, please email me, thanks in advance. Yes, the article is extremely useful, because the problem is becoming widespread ... Many thanks for the information.

Best regards, BNikolai, Togliatti

I read reviews about firmware 1.9.160 on your resource ... and well, it’s far to hell. You could not throw off the previous version instead of it. Don't take it as arrogance.

Today we have a GS 8306 receiver for repair.

  1. This model, in my opinion, is not very successful. There is no display.
Two LEDs indicate on and off.
There is a button for switching TV outputs on the remote control, the HDMI output and video output are not parallel and are switched from the remote control, and this creates inconvenience.

  2. The problem with this receiver is that it won't turn on.
The first step is to check the nutrition.
There are many controllers on the board, each controller has a small choke (voltage is signed for all, they must match when checked by the tester).

  3. Tester check the voltage of each controller.
To do this, we apply the black “probe” of the tester to the tuner, and apply the red one in turn to each throttle.
The measurements are displayed on the tester screen.
In this case, everything is fine.

Here is a 16 megabyte memory dump.
When jumping the DataSheet, it turns out that the data output is leg 15.
We check with an oscilloscope whether the processor on this leg is reading data from the flash card.
We put the “probe” on the 15th leg and the data packets are read.
The processor reads the flash drive, which means the processor is good.
Next, we solder the flash, and flash the tuner.
