how did you manage to crash, did you get under the press? there is also a rubber band T11-3401014BB. may of course be equal to 4 the diameter of the rail itself is the same as the BB, but the salenblock is practically the same as on the trv rail

I measured it - it offers a silent block T11-3401012 according to my size, I already bought this one and it is now hanging out there.
When the master put it (unfortunately at that moment I was not present) he said that the landing nest was broken, since the silent block went into it quite easily. At the same time, I left for almost a year on this silent block and there were no problems with the steering. Perhaps the socket was normal, and the silent block was thin.
As it turns out now, the silent blocks from different rails (with and without the BB index) are different.
On the forum they write that the difference is almost 5 mm, however, my rail is with the BB index, and the dimensions of the native silent block are like those of the rail without the BB index. Some kind of garbage. Image - DIY repair of the steering rack Chery Tiggo

PS. A big request to the owners of Tig with a steering rack without BB in the number: Measure the diameter of the steering rack closer to the place where the clamp is attached to the steering rack.
My BB index is 50 mm.
If another rail has the same thickness, then perhaps a clamp without an index will fit a rail with an index, because visually they are no different.

  • Transmission - front and four wheel drive
  • Engines 1.8, 2.0 and 2.4L.
  • Engine power 132, 125 and 129 hp.

b) Disconnect the power steering oil return hose from the fluid container.

c) Place the oil return hose in a container with the drained steering fluid.

d) Start the engine and let it idle.

e) Turn the steering wheel left - right to the limit position.

Attention: Do not carry out this procedure while the engine is stopped as the hydraulic system could be damaged.

f) Make sure the steering fluid is completely drained and stop the engine.

3) Remove the upper and lower steering rack covers.

4) Unscrew the high and low pressure pipe connections.

5) Remove the left steering gear fixing bolt.

6) Remove the right steering gear fixing bolt.

When your car stops steering or makes strange noises during use, you need to find out what the problem is. Most often it is in the steering rack. The mechanism is located inside the car, so it is difficult to visually see its malfunctions. To find the problem and fix it, you should contact the service station that repairs and replaces this unit.

Cherry is plagued by standard problems found in other cars in this node. You can climb into the car yourself and look for a breakdown. Having found out the possible reason, buy spare parts and repair kits, try to fix the malfunction. But do you need to get dirty in lubricants while looking over your car?

You can identify problems with the steering rack in Cherry Tiggo by the following symptoms:

When you leave your Image - DIY repair of the steering rack Chery Tiggo

car in the service station, the masters will carry out diagnostics to find the unit with a malfunction. To do this, they will check the backlash, inspect the vehicle components. Having found the reason, they will remove the rail from the car and start disassembling and repairing.

First, the harnesses are removed from the rail, then the anthers are pulled together. After draining the liquid, unscrew the hinges. After that, remove the rods from the rail. Next, unscrew the nut holding the shaft with teeth, remove them. Then the retaining ring is removed from the distributor, the spool nut is unscrewed. After the rear support is removed. The distributor can now be removed. After that, pull out the stem, and you can remove the oil seal. To take pictures of the left stem seal, a special puller is needed. After completing the analysis, serviceable parts are washed from the remnants of contaminated oil with production, sand and dirt. Parts must be degreased before assembly. Then they are assembled with already serviceable spare parts.

Parts are lubricated before assembly Image - DIY repair of the steering rack Chery Tiggo

lubricating substances. First, the stock comb is coated. Install a new oil seal on the stem and insert the rail.Next, grease is applied to the teeth of the distributor worm. Install the distributor back into the rail housing. The bearing is pressed with a mandrel. Then the oil seal is coated and pressed into the body. Put on the retaining ring, press it in. Fill with grease and install the pressure piston. Again, lubricate the hold-down piston and place the spring on it. Then the spring with the stem clamp nut is lubricated, which is tightened. Next, tighten the spool nut. The spool plug is then filled with grease and replaced. Check the smooth operation of the assembled part of the rail. A new centering sleeve is placed in the back. Then put an O-ring on it. In a special vice, the oil seal is pressed into the back plate. The prepared rear support is installed in the steering rack and screwed on. When the assembly is completed, the rail is checked for smooth operation and the absence of leaks, as well as the force from which it is put into operation.

During the assembly process, the staff of our service station lubricates all rail connections so that the assembly is easier, the parts do not corrode and have a greater mileage.

A large number of Image - DIY repair of the steering rack Chery Tiggo

lubricants are very important to the rail. Indeed, its design contains small, but very important details. If they are damaged by corrosion, then they will do their job worse, or completely break down due to their weakening under the influence of previous loads.

Passing scheduled maintenance every six months should save you from unforeseen problems with the car. At our service station, qualified specialists carry out diagnostics and repair of steering racks.

Replacing the rack will be necessary if many of its parts have a lot of wear and there are no adjustments to remove the backlash. It is more expedient and cheaper to change it to a new one already assembled than to replace all of its components, and pay additional work to the craftsmen.

I will start with the topic about the steering rack, tk. I began to notice a knock when driving through small irregularities, and the suspension diagnostics indicated a play in the rail. I never found clear instructions on how to adjust the rail (the officials generally said that the rail is not regulated), so I decided to do it by typing ...
So:

1. Adjustment is made from the bottom of the car, we drive into a pit, overpass or lift, put the steering wheel in a straight position and climb under the car.
2. We see on the side of the rail an adjusting screw and a lock nut

3. It is necessary to loosen the lock nut, for this I was looking for a key for 41 for a long time (I found it from my father-in-law, he had it from Soviet times), the key had to be cut in the middle, because he rested against the bottom

Image - DIY repair of the steering rack Chery Tiggo

4.Tighten the adjusting screw with a hexagon by 24, I did not find it, so I took a bolt, screwed 2 nuts on it and pulled them off, it turned out a hexagon

5. It is necessary to check by a slight turn of the steering wheel to the left and to the right if there is a knock from the rack, if not, it is necessary to check in motion so that the steering wheel returns after turning, in case of a sticky steering wheel, loosen the adjusting screw, when everything is set, tighten the lock nut.

Good afternoon. He unscrewed all the mounting bolts on the rail, the pressure hose, the crosspiece. How to remove it from under the car, there is protection, but as I understand it, the engine is attached to it, that is, do not unscrew it?

First you need to drain the power steering fluid. To do this, hang out the wheels of the car so that they do not touch the ground and disconnect the steering oil return hose from the fluid reservoir. Then place the hose in a container with the drained liquid. After starting the engine at idle, turn the steering wheel left / right until it stops.

Next, you need to raise the car and remove the upper and lower steering rack covers. Unscrew the high and low pressure hose connections. Then unscrew the left steering bolt. And then the right one. By unscrewing the bolt that connects the right and left tie rods and the steering knuckle, you can remove the steering rack.
