In detail: do-it-yourself bathroom renovation in a panel house from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.
Carrying out repairs in the apartment, it will certainly come to the bathroom with a toilet. If you have certain experience, skills and decide to do your own bathroom renovation, answer a few questions first:
what do you want to get in the final result from the repair of the bathroom and toilet;
how much you expect to spend on repairs;
What kind of repair is needed: cosmetic or major.
The bathroom room, perhaps, is the leader among all the others in terms of the number of visits per day, therefore, its arrangement must be approached responsibly and take into account such characteristic nuances as high humidity, steam formation and temperature changes.
The process of repair work will begin with the dismantling of old and installation of new water pipes. Do not do this type of work yourself, unless of course you are a professional plumber. Otherwise, you will face a flood and a lot of trouble. If you decide to do this yourself, buy plastic water and sewer pipes.
For sewer pipes, the connection is made with rubber gaskets, and for plumbing - with a soldering iron. After the installation is completed, it is necessary to check the connections for the possibility of leaks.
The location of communications must be carefully planned in advance so that in the future it does not slow down the progress of work.
Since the bathroom is a very humid room, the surface finishing material must also be moisture resistant and not be afraid of a sudden change in temperature. You need to rid the walls and ceiling of the previous

If there is a large area, you can sheathe the walls with moisture-resistant drywall. Next, the surfaces are covered with a primer, which will also serve as protection against fungal diseases. After the final drying, you can proceed to further work. For finishing, you can choose moisture-resistant wallpaper, paint materials or ceramic tiles.
If you have a combined bathroom, you can choose materials for finishing in two colors, thereby visually dividing the space.
The most important condition is compliance with your wishes, taste preferences and, of course, the presence of harmony is important. To lay the tiles, stock up on glue, the tile itself, a level and a spatula for applying the mortar. Glue the underside of the tile and press it firmly to the surface. Do the same with the rest. Laying should begin in the direction from the floor to the ceiling.
If necessary, the material can be cut using a special tool. Facing the walls, consider the location of the heated towel rail, which is also subject to replacement. Choose the battery that you like the most, since the assortment in the store is simply huge.
With independent repairs, only you are responsible for the selection of material and design for the room. In the ceiling section, give preference to moisture-resistant drywall or plastic panels. These materials are quite simple to install and operate. And their fastening is carried out on a metal frame.
When installing, provide holes for mounting lighting fixtures. Do not be afraid to experiment with the color of the ceiling, making it match the wall decoration.
In the apartments of the old layout, the bathroom has a very small area, which needs to be maximized at least visually.This can be achieved with the help of color schemes and small tricks: use mirrors, they perfectly increase the space visually.
Opt for underfloor heating, which is installed with a special electrically heated floor, or with hot water pipes (so-called water floor).
For flooring, you can use laminate, ceramic tiles, parquet or linoleum.
The main selection criteria are moisture resistance, resistance to temperature changes and the absence of a slippery surface.
Following all the above recommendations, you can carry out an independent repair of the bathroom. However, get ready for the fact that you will spend a lot of time, however, the result will fully justify your costs.

The restroom seems to be the smallest room in the house, and the trouble is the most. A lot of time is spent on the installation of plumbing. And I already regret that we did not make a bathroom in retro style. Here in the photo she looks very personal. I have everything done in the style of romanticism. And by the way, we placed the washing machine in the kitchen. Now few people install it in the bathroom.
Repairing a toilet in an apartment is not an easy task, despite the seemingly small amount of work. The lion's share of difficulties is connected precisely with the size of the room and with the installation of plumbing and pipes in the toilet: risers, wiring, sewers. Of course, it is better to entrust specific work to professionals, but it is quite possible to cope with cosmetic repairs without outside help. Let's find out how to make repairs in the toilet with your own hands, saving time, nerves and money, and find out where it should start.
Even a small repair of a toilet in a panel house will require a large number of different tasks. In this small room there are many different communications: pipeline, sewerage, heating, lighting. Often the toilet itself needs to be replaced. In some cases, a defective overhaul report may be required.
First you need to decide on the sequence of repairs in the toilet. Repair begins in an old house or in a new building with the development of design and calculation of the necessary materials. It is advisable to perform further repair steps in the following order:
removal of old coatings from the ceiling and walls;
replacement of heating risers and sewerage pipes, installation of a toilet installation;
replacement of wiring (if necessary);
cleaning of the premises;
preparation of the floor, pouring the screed, laying the floor covering;
installation of wall coverings (wallpaper, tiles, panels);
if necessary - assembly of a sanitary cabinet;
toilet installation;
installing a new door.
Even the most modest repair in the toilet takes a lot of time and requires a significant investment, since plumbing is expensive. The most inexpensive repair option in the toilet is a simple cosmetic one, when the drain or wiring is not changed, but only the ceiling and walls are refreshed.
Quite often, the toilet is a tiny room in which, as they say, you can’t turn around. In houses of the 137th series, the toilet, in which, in addition to the riser and pipes, there is also a ventilation shaft, is so small that there is practically no free space between the toilet bowl and the door. Within the framework of such a small room, design development before the start of repairs requires a special approach. When thinking through the interior of the toilet, it is necessary to take into account some important nuances.
The central object of the toilet is the toilet bowl. First of all, it must be comfortable. Snow-white sanitary ware looks best, although other colors can be chosen. The main thing is that it fits the overall interior.
A great option for a small room is a built-in toilet.This is a practical solution: the tank and sewer pipes are removed into the sanitary cabinet, dirt, dust, microbes do not accumulate on them. Cleaning becomes much easier. In addition, the toilet on the installation moves a few centimeters deeper into the toilet, which makes staying in a small room more comfortable.
Most often, heating risers and meters for water supply are installed in the toilet. They are also recommended to be sewn into a beautiful plumbing closet. The interior will only benefit from this. Opposite the meters and taps, a hinged hatch should be provided so that at any time you can turn off the water or view the readings.
A small toilet is recommended to be decorated in light colors, as they visually increase the space. At the same time, it is better to choose a dark color for the floor.
If you are tired of standard solutions, you can look for ideas on the Internet and create an unusual toilet interior in a new building. An interesting option is shown by the following photo.
You can decorate the toilet with wallpaper or paint the walls in an unusual way, but aggressive tones or excessive variegation should be avoided.
A black and white toilet will look stylish and non-standard, especially if you pick up black plumbing in high-tech style.
The load on the toilet room is quite specific. There is often high humidity, pollution and unpleasant odors are not uncommon. Therefore, the toilet should use finishing materials that do not absorb odors and dirt, resistant to high levels of humidity, and easy to clean.
To repair and level the floor surface in the toilet, it would be advisable to use self-leveling floors. The mixture must be prepared on a cement basis. For finishing, it is desirable to use porcelain stoneware tiles.
To level the walls of the toilet in a new building, you can use drywall, but only its moisture-resistant modification (a distinctive feature is the green color of the sheets). Aluminum profiles are recommended for the frame, because the wood quickly rots from dampness, is affected by fungus. Drywall can be tiled, painted or wallpapered.
When repairing a small toilet in an old house, this leveling method is inappropriate, since the already cramped space will decrease due to the crate. The walls can be plastered or use a glue method for mounting GKL.
Important! Before applying the finish, the plaster layer must be treated with deep penetration impregnation in order to protect it from the harmful effects of dampness.
The choice of finishing materials for walls is quite wide:
Tile. It is worth giving preference to a kaolion-based material (it is white on the reverse side).
Porcelain tile.
Dye. The best choice is an easy-to-clean latex compound.
Washable wallpaper. They should be based on polyester or propylene, paper wallpapers in the toilet quickly become unusable.
PVC panels. Suitable for repair type "economy".
The ceiling surface can be painted or a stretch ceiling made of PVC film can be installed, which will help prevent damage to the finish in case of leakage from neighbors from above.
Doors to the bathroom can be either standard or smaller, as in the houses of the 137 series. And this creates a lot of problems for the owners, because finding such a canvas can be problematic. Here you can give only one recommendation - the door should be deaf.
When all questions on materials are resolved and a design is chosen, you can begin the repair process. Where to start repairing the toilet? From the dismantling of old materials: the toilet bowl is removed, coatings, wallpaper are removed, garbage is removed, etc.
Repairing a toilet in a new building is easier to do: there is no need to change pipes, dismantle the old finish.
The next stage of the repair is the installation of a new sewer. Now they use plastic. It is much lighter and cheaper, but is not inferior in strength to traditional materials.When buying any plumbing kits, you need to check if all the rubber gaskets are in place. If they are not enough, there may be problems with sealing the joints.
Then they change the pipes and wiring. Risers are now also made of polypropylene. They must be rigidly attached to the wall, especially the hot water pipe, as they can be deformed under the influence of high temperatures. With the economy option, the pipes are not touched, because the price of repairs increases noticeably from this. If the toilet is suspended, an installation is installed at this stage of the repair.
When making electrical wiring in a toilet in a new building, you need to remember that the wires must be hidden in a special corrugation, and junction boxes and wire connections must be moved outside this room.
Another point is ventilation. Often it is clogged, so you need to clean it and close it with a special grate.
For effective ventilation, it is desirable to equip a forced exhaust.
The repair is completed with the installation of a toilet bowl and the assembly of a sanitary cabinet.
Knowing how to make repairs in the toilet and what kind of work you have to do, you just have to decide whether you can do everything yourself or is it better to entrust some of the work to professional craftsmen.
The price of a cosmetic repair of a turnkey toilet in Moscow fluctuates in the range of 14–25 thousand rubles, in St. Petersburg such a repair will cost 10–22 thousand rubles. The price for a major overhaul with the replacement of pipes starts from 35 thousand rubles.
You can save money by doing some of the work yourself, for example, dismantling the old coating, making a screed, etc. If you have no experience in performing any operations, you can watch training videos, look through photos in search of inspiration.
The most responsible and difficult stage of repairing a bathroom is finishing the ceiling and walls. Usually toilets are tiled or sheathed with plastic panels. Sometimes bathrooms can be decorated with decorative plaster or plasterboard mosaics.
In some cases, wooden panels or lining are used for decoration. Of course, in order for all surfaces to turn out neat as a result, do-it-yourself wall repairs in the bathroom should be done with strict adherence to certain technologies.
One of the most convenient ways to finish a bathroom is modern wall panels. The room sheathed by them will look quite aesthetically pleasing and modern.
Among other things, PVC panels are hygienic, not afraid of moisture and have an affordable price. So, with their use, you can make high-quality and budget repairs.
Soviet standard options suit far from many. What is better to make the walls of the bathroom from, because there are a huge number of materials on the market, and each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Before starting repairs, you need to draw up an estimate with the calculation of all materials, which will allow you to find out about the upcoming expense.
Of course, when repairing a small toilet in a house or apartment with your own hands, you should not make a detailed list, just calculate how much the purchase of basic materials will cost.
Before proceeding with the decoration of the walls with PVC panels, all household appliances and furniture must be removed from the bathroom. During the repair, plumbing can be left, but it is still better to remove and dismantle. Moreover, during the repair, it, as a rule, can be changed to a new one.
VIDEO Remove old wallpaper from the walls, clean and treat their surface with special anti-rotten compounds.
The repair of the combined bathroom should be carried out in compliance with the technology, since the air in this room has high humidity. In this case, the panels are installed only on the crate. In simple toilets, they can be glued directly to the walls.
Frame installation
Since the ceilings and walls in the bathrooms of apartments are rarely perfectly even, usually plastic lining is mounted with a pre-installation of the frame. The latter is much easier to make from wooden slats 40x25 mm. Usually the elements of the crate are mounted horizontally. The frame is fixed directly to the wall using self-tapping screws with plastic dowels. It is important that the step between the slats is not more than 50 cm.
To align the frame at the attachment points of the purlins, place pieces of plywood or laths of the required thickness. As soon as the entire wall is upholstered, proceed to install the corner elements, the lower and upper plastic guides. They are attached to the frame with brackets using a construction stapler.
Panel installation process
When repairing the walls of the bathroom, you can choose PVC panels of any color. However, it is better to use light panels in a small room. In general, there are many options for decorating a toilet with plastic. To verify this, just look at the catalog of any online building materials store.
Stages of finishing the bathroom with PVC panels
Previously, at the first lamella, it is necessary to cut off the spike.
It is then inserted into the corner start element.
The first lamella on the reverse side must be fixed to each purlin on a bracket or clamp.
The spike of the second panel must be inserted into the groove of the first. To do this, the lower and upper guides will have to be slightly bent. The second panel is attached to the crate in exactly the same way.
All other lamellas are installed in the same order.
The last panel is inserted into the corner profile without additional fixation to the crate.
Finishing the ceiling of the toilet is done in the same way.
Nowadays, a PVC profile is found on sale, designed for the installation of plastic panels. The fastening of the crate, as well as the lamellas themselves, in this case, takes place using the same technology.
Glue mounting
If the walls in the bathroom are even, and they are not combined with the bathroom, you can install according to a simplified scheme. In this case, PVC lamellas are attached directly to the wall surface with liquid nails. The sequence of work in this case will be as follows:
repairs begin with cleaning the ceiling and walls from dirt. Then the surface should be primed;
drops of liquid nails are applied to each panel in a checkerboard pattern (pointwise) with a step of about 30 cm;
then the panel is pressed tightly against the wall surface and held for several seconds in this position;
other elements are attached in the same way;
of course, the starting and finishing corner profiles, as well as the lower and upper guides, are first glued to the wall.

Ceramic tiles: finishes, advantages and disadvantages.
Tiled, despite the high price, toilets are trimmed much more often than PVC panels. The bathroom, finished with modern tiles, looks presentable and stylish.
Plus, unlike plastic, it is much more difficult to damage the tile. The only drawback is the difficulty in installation. But be that as it may, having studied the technology in detail, you can save money by doing everything yourself. But when doing this work, you must carefully follow our recommendations.
Wall alignment
Repair of a separate toilet, as a rule, begins with the alignment of all surfaces. It is better not to glue tiles on curved walls. Otherwise, the room will look messy.
The wall alignment procedure includes the following steps:
Old plaster is peeling off the ceiling and walls. The tile that has served its time is removed from the floor;
continue the repair by gluing plaster guides (attached to gypsum mortar);
when the gypsum has set, you can start a new plaster.The solution is thrown in large pieces between the beacons, after which it is carefully leveled with a rule;
the alignment of the walls of the bathrooms in the "Khrushchev" is carried out according to the same technology;
repair of a bathroom in a panel house can be carried out without leveling the surface, since the walls in such buildings, compared to brick and block buildings, are quite even.
VIDEO Installation of tiles
Tiles for a shared bathroom are only suitable for special ones, which are adapted by the manufacturer for use in high humidity conditions. It can be ordered at any hardware store. The installation process itself takes place in the following order:
at the first stage of repair, the walls are carefully coated with a penetrating primer;
then the surface is placed along the entire height of the tile;
the installation process always starts from the bottom;
glue is applied to the wall with a special grater or notched trowel;
it is better not to capture a large area;
the first tile is pressed as tightly as possible to the surface, aligned horizontally and vertically;
the assembly is installed by two dividing crosses;
other tiles are mounted in the same way (tiles can be installed not only in even rows, but also in a run);
a day after installation, the beacons are removed, and the seams are overwritten with a composition of a suitable color.
Use of other materials: mosaic, drywall, wood panels.
Plastic panels and tiles are one of the most popular finishes for toilets. But in some cases, do-it-yourself wall repairs in bathrooms can be done using other materials (see photo).
Mosaic finish
When performing repairs, tiles can be replaced with mosaics. The interior decoration of the walls with such material will not be as difficult as it may seem to you. Glass, ceramic and smalt mosaics are sold not in small pieces, but in whole panels, about 30x30 cm in size. During production, the elements are superimposed on paper with the front side. As soon as the panel is glued to the wall, it is wetted with water and removed (after soaking).
Drywall finishing
Such material for finishing bathrooms, both separate and combined, is used quite often. Attention! For finishing rooms with high humidity, only moisture-resistant drywall, which has a green color of cardboard, can be used.
Installation of drywall is carried out on a metal or wooden frame (the first is more reliable).
VIDEO From above, decorative plaster is most often used. The whole complex of works on finishing with such material takes place in stages.
The drywall surface is pre-primed with a special compound.
When the primer dries, plaster is applied to the walls with a trowel in straight or circular motions (rather thin layer).
After the first layer has dried, start applying the second, and then the third. For structural plaster, 1-2 layers are enough. Textured plaster is applied in 5-12 layers.
Wood paneling
Usually, wood panels in the bathroom are used only if it is not combined with the bathroom. Their installation is carried out according to exactly the same technology as the installation of PVC panels.
This is one of the simplest options for decorating a bathroom. But for painting the surfaces of this room, only water-dispersed compositions and paints made on a latex basis will have to be used.
When waterproof wallpaper appeared on the market, many immediately began to use it as a wall covering for the bathroom.
Attention! Acrylic and vinyl wallpapers wash well and do not absorb moisture, but they have one weak point - the joints.
Decorative plaster
Decorative plaster allows you to beautifully finish the walls of the bathroom, creating a moisture-resistant and durable coating. It creates a reliable insulating layer, is distinguished by various decorative defects.
Attention! To extend the life of decorative plaster, we recommend applying protective wax to it.
As you can see, repairing the walls of a bathroom with your own hands is a troublesome task, but quite doable. We strongly recommend that you do the finishing of this room carefully and slowly, as a result of which you will get a modern bathroom with perfectly even walls. If the technology of finishing with tiles or panels seemed complicated to you, then you can always resort to the help of specialists. Today, many companies produce finishing bathrooms inexpensively and on a turnkey basis.
When you move into a new apartment, it is quite natural to want to make it your dream home and change everything there. Actually, it was the same for me - I moved to a one-room apartment, which probably saw repairs back in Brezhnev's times. So, at the entrance we have an apartment with a separate bathroom and toilet, but very small.
These are such tiny spaces that are called "do not turn around." Therefore, we decided to combine a bath with a toilet. We have two advantages at once:
the bathroom becomes more spacious
instead of two doors in the corridor there will be one, which means additional space in the corridor, which is also small.
This is what we have in the bathroom: small tiles on the floor, tiles, metal-plastic pipes, a partition between the bathroom and the toilet - brickwork. We cleaned the walls to the maximum from tiles and a layer of paint. The sink was removed, it needs to be replaced, but the bathtub was left, it is cast iron and in good condition.
The ceilings in the apartment are at different levels, a niche is hidden under the plywood, although it was quite possible to make a locker. However, now it is irrelevant, we will change the location of the door.
Such a mosaic tile adorned the walls of the toilet, you will not find such a one now.
Branch risers from the toilet to the bath. The pipes, as we see, in this old house have been replaced with new ones.
A red brick partition is decorated with a decent layer of plaster - 3-4 cm, we knock down all this "wealth". We'll tear down the wall. We still need this brick.
We diligently knock down all this thick layer of plaster, remove the fiberboard panel, which the pipes in the toilet were sewn up with. We closed the toilet itself, so as not to clog. Dirt, as you can see, enough!
We work in the old fashioned way, with a wide chisel and a hammer. All this work could have been done with a perforator, but we did not have one. All materials are already old, so plaster and tiles are easily knocked off.
Here is a wall hiding behind a layer of plaster and tiles.
The most difficult thing was to remove all this “beauty”, as we see, the workers did not regret the mixture.
The walls are uneven - at the ceiling, the thickness of the plaster layer reached as much as 6 cm.
We knock everything down, we remove the lamp.
This is what the wall opposite the partition looks like, it is also brick. We knock out the ventilation grill, put a new one in its place.
Now, finally, the most interesting thing - we dismantle the partition between the bathroom and the toilet, we save the bricks, as I said, they are in good condition, so why spend money on extra materials. We store whole bricks in the bathroom.
This is what we get in the end, when we removed all the garbage, knocked out the wall and the door frame of the toilet, there will be a wall here.
There will be little difficulties with the new floor, because there is a decent difference between the bathroom floor and the toilet floor, see how crooked the stool is.
Now this difference must be leveled to the maximum, we knock down everything superfluous with a hammer and a chisel, remove two layers of tiles in the toilet.
See how much space there will be in the bathroom combined with the toilet, there will be room for both the sink and the washing machine.
There is a lot of work with the floor in the toilet: check out which layer you have to remove, almost ten centimeters, to the very foundation.
We are preparing a place for the future wall, there used to be a door here, but there will be a wall, in the toilet in this place it will be possible to place a cabinet or shelves for accessories. Great solution for such a small apartment.
We arm ourselves with a trowel and a cement-sand mixture and build a new wall. Do not forget to use a level so that the wall is even.
View of the new wall from inside the toilet. Simultaneously with laying out the wall itself, we close up the cracks. An old bathroom door frame serves as a wall boundary. Subsequently, we will break the old box and put a new door.
This is how the work goes: broken bricks are also used, they can be inserted into large slots, and then covered with a mixture.
View from the outside: this is how much space will be added in the corridor due to the fact that there will be no door here. In a small area, every centimeter of roads.
The lamp was attached to the wall, but for now it just hangs on the ceiling. In the distance you can see a niche between the slab and the ceiling. Of course, it would be possible to make a locker, but we abandoned this idea, it would be painfully high and very unlikely to be used often.
We close it with a brick, cover the cracks. The old brick was not enough, so I had to buy a new one.
now it's time to dismantle the shaft with the riser. Everything had to be done extremely carefully so as not to turn off the toilet and not disrupt communications. After all, it’s not easy to live without a toilet.
They dismantled everything down to the pipes. There is a gaping hole in the floor. So that the old cast-iron pipe does not fall, we strengthen the floor with fittings, put boxes on the counters so that they do not suffer during repair work.
We close up the hole at the site of the mine with a cement-sand mixture.
We level the floor between the bathroom and the toilet.
We dismantle the toilet. We sew up a riser for pipes. To do this, we needed metal profiles and the most common foam boards - cheap and absorbs excess water noise. We leave an audit window for access to counters. We seal all the cracks with mounting foam. There are also pipes for a heated towel rail.
We insert a new corrugation for the toilet. Before that, it was cast iron, and now it is movable plastic, which means that there will be no problems with installing a new toilet bowl.
We sew up the riser with drywall sheets. We make serifs on the walls - so that the finishing materials hold better.
Here we have such an ideal riser in the end. It seems that the whole wall is sewn up, but it is not - you can see a hidden hatch here so that we can have access to the plumbing system. For this, we needed canopies for furniture and a push mechanism for the door.
Now you can return to the floor, now you can finally level it to get rid of that ill-fated drop. Our assistants in this are a cement-sand mixture and a spatula. We leave to dry.
Because our walls are very uneven. They will have to be properly leveled and an impressive layer of plaster cannot be dispensed with. We install metal beacons for plastering, we will lose a couple of centimeters of space, but we have to sacrifice so that the walls are perfectly even.
We prime the surface, this is necessary in order to strengthen the wall itself (do not forget that the brick is very old) and this will improve adhesion to the finishing material.
Plastering process. As we can see, the layer is impressive, 3-4 centimeters.
Due to the fact that we have beacons installed, we see which layer needs to be applied.
Here's what it looks like in the end. Let's dry.
We cover the entire surface of the walls with plaster, then primer.
Let's go to the floor. Our floor will be tiled diagonally. This way of laying tiles is not easy, but it's worth it. This arrangement visually increases the space, and because our bathroom is small, we will try to add volume at least visually.
Before we started laying the tiles, we prepared the surface - leveled, repaired all the holes and potholes on the walls and floor, primed. The primer improves the adhesion of tiles to the floor. After applying the primer, let it dry.
Here is such a handsome floor we got in the end. Light-colored tiles again add space, and thanks to the pattern, dirt and drops are not visible on it.
It's time to remove the old door frame and install a new door. We dismantle thresholds.
We assemble a new door frame and install it in the opening. In order to prevent the door beams from bending, we put wooden wedges between the wall and the box.
The bases of the box themselves were fixed with metal corners. The outer wall of the bathroom is also plastered.
The door is the simplest, made of chipboard. Firstly, such a door is inexpensive and quite suitable for our interior. We hang it on loops. Then we carefully foam all the seams and cracks between the box and the wall.
New toilet, new toilet. Installed in place of the old one. Now we move on to preparing the walls for laying out the tiles. Our tools are a spray gun, which is very convenient for priming walls, simple and comb spatulas, crosses. I fixed the level on the wall, it will serve us as a starting profile.
We mix the tile adhesive. It will be very easy to check whether it is ready - we take a trowel or a spatula and scoop it up: if it does not drain immediately and does not fall off in a piece. This means that the consistency is ideal, if it is too liquid, add the glue mixture, if it is thick - water.
On the wall, we have already pre-made serifs, for better adhesion of the wall and tiles, and covered with concrete contact, for the same purpose. We draw marks for the tiles, we check everything with a level.
We begin to lay out the reference row, do not forget to use seam crosses, they guarantee that there will be no distortions.
We do the same manipulations with the other wall - we check with a plumb line whether the walls are vertical, we fix the starting level.
This wall is the most difficult - we have communications here. Here you have to rack your brains on how best to arrange the tiles, so that you don’t have to cut a lot. We lay out a decorative border, we have it as a guide - where there is no profile (above the taps), a board was attached under the tile so that the tile does not move out.
We drill a hole for the wiring with a diamond drill, we bring out the wires - here we will have a lamp.
Another difficult area is the space above the door, there is no support row, so in order for the tiles not to move, we will use the good old adhesive tape.
As you can see, we do not lay out the tiles up to the very ceiling, then there will be a suspended ceiling here, so we leave 5 cm.
We rub the tile seams.
The tiles are in two shades of beige. Lighter tiles on top and darker tiles on the bottom help visually enlarge the space.
It's time to install a new heated towel rail. Mark holes for fasteners and drill.
Installing a heated towel rail is not an easy task; in order to mount it, you have to install a hook in the ceiling and hang it.
The holes on the wall are made, we report the tile and in the same places we make holes already in the tile itself.
Now it remains to lay out non-whole tiles in the corner.
We complete the installation process. In order not to confuse the cut tiles, we number them, which greatly facilitates the work.
Another way to save space in a tiny bathroom is to sink pipes into the wall. First, cuts were made with a grinder, and then strobes were hollowed out with a chisel, a chisel and a hammer, where the pipes were placed. Installed a new faucet.
Now you need to make holes in the tile itself. To do this, we use a special crown for drilling round holes. We install it on a drill and at low speed in a couple of minutes we get a neat hole.
We glue the tiles, we overwrite. No more pipes disfigure our bathroom.
This is what our bath looks like at this stage. We install the ventilation grill.
Alas, the pictures end there, but the repair does not. It remains for us to decorate the ceiling. This will be an aluminum rail suspended ceiling. As we have already said, our main task is to maximize the space, so we chose a glossy rail.
The spotlights helped us make the bathroom feel very light and therefore feel spacious.Then we hung a new sink, covered the space under the bathroom with a special color-matched plastic screen.

As a result, we have greatly transformed the bathroom and received additional space, both in the bathroom itself and in the hallway. In the vacated space, you can put a washing machine and hang shelves. The repair turned out to be budgetary, we used to the maximum what is still quite suitable (brick, bathtub) and chose the most inexpensive materials.
