Now, using the sharp metal tip of a construction knife, pry off the back cover of the smartphone from the bottom corner, attach the suction cup under the Home button on the back cover. The suction cup must be fully adhered. Place your smartphone face down on the table and pull the suction cup towards you by the ring. After that, fix the protective thermoplate and the button for the whole display. Put all the removed cables back in place by attaching them to the iron plate of the screen of the new display and tighten all the bolts into place.

It remains to connect three connectors to the board and attach it with two pairs of screws. Now connect the touchscreen cable back and screw on the protective plate.

The final touch is to install the cable in place and fasten the case. Now we twist the two bolts at the bottom of the case near the speakers with a Pentaglobe screwdriver.

Carefully, using a flannel cloth or microfiber, after preliminarily and slightly soaking it in liquid for wiping boards, remove the remaining glue and gently wipe the touch screen with a clean cloth.

Next, we apply a special bone-shaped glue on the bottom and top of the screen and carefully attach the new original glass. You need to fasten gradually in order to avoid the occurrence of air bubbles under the glass. Do not press hard on the glass. Make sure that the glass is correctly fixed around the touchpad button.

Make sure the suction cup is securely attached to the front panel.

While holding the iPhone with one hand, pull the suction cup lightly to separate the edge of the front panel with the Home button from the body.

Using a plastic tool, begin to carefully separate the front panel from the case, which you are pulling with the suction cup.

Remove the suction cup from the display.

Open the phone to reveal a metal bracket covering the home button cable.

. Do not open the phone too wide or you risk damaging the HOME button cable or its jack. Always keep the cable loose.

Only the native Home button retains the functionality of Touch ID (fingerprint identification). If you ripped the cable, installing a new button will only restore normal Home button functionality, not Touch ID settings.

Use a plastic tool to press down on the bracket and remove it.

Use the tip of a plastic tool to push the Home button cable connector up out of its socket.

. Make sure you are separating the cable connector from the socket, and not pulling up on the socket itself. The socket has its own glued cable, and you have a chance to rip it off if you're not careful.

Once the connector is disconnected, pull the bottom of the module away from the chassis without removing the top.

In the next few steps, hold the module at a 90 degree angle to the case until the front panel is completely detached.

Remove the following screws securing the front panel cable cover to the motherboard:

Two 1.7mm Phillips screws;
One 1.2mm Phillips screw;
One 1.3mm Phillips screw.

The 1.3 mm screw is not magnetized to the magnetic screwdriver. Take care not to lose it when you remove it. When assembling, make sure that this bolt is inserted into its native groove.

Remove the front panel cable cover from the motherboard.

Use a plastic tool to disconnect the front camera and sensor cable.

. In all subsequent steps when removing the cable from the socket, be careful and do not use excessive force, otherwise you may damage the fragile parts of the parts.

While holding the front panel, disconnect the digital sensor cable connector.

Finally, disconnect the display cable connector.

. When assembling the phone, the display cable may pop out of the socket. This may result in a white line or blank screen when the phone is turned on. If this happens, simply reconnect the cable and restart the power cycle. The best way to restart the power is to disconnect and reconnect the battery.

Remove the front panel from the rear case.

Remove the two screws securing the speaker's top cover:

4.0mm Phillips screw;
2.3 mm Phillips screw.

Use a plastic tool to pry the left foot of the cover away from the speaker.

Slide the cover to the left with a plastic tool to detach it.

. If you use your fingers, be very careful not to touch the gold-plated contacts on the front panel. Finger grease can interfere with contacts.

Using a plastic tool, gently pry the speaker cable up to separate this part of the camera and sensor cable from the adhesive.

. Insert the tool only under the speaker contacts, there are sensors and microchips that can be damaged if you pry it in another place.

Use the corner of the plastic tool to pry the light sensor out of its socket on the module.

Use the flat end of a tool to carefully separate part of the front camera cable from the display.

Carefully remove the cable from the display's protective plate to remove it from the screen.

. Be careful not to damage the digital sensor cable when removing the front camera and sensor cable.

Remove one Phillips screw securing the Home button cable.

A mounting screw holds the home button cable to the spring. During reassembly, make sure the contact is held in the correct position - on the side of the screw closest to the display.

Unscrew the cable down from the home button bracket.

Remove two 1.4mm Phillips screws from the home button bracket.

Remove the home button bracket from the display.

Use the end of a plastic tool to disconnect the Home button cable from the module.

Gently press the top left corner of the Home button to release it from the front panel.

. Don't press down on the entire Home button, you just need to release the corner so you can pry it off with a plastic tool.

This membrane is very thin, if you feel like you are tearing the button, heat it up and try again.

Separate the Home button from the display by gently prying with a plastic tool.

Remove the Home button from the front panel.

Remove the 2.7mm Phillips screw from the back of the display.

Remove two 1.2mm Phillips screws from each side of the display panel (4 in total).

To avoid breaking the last screw, it is recommended to first loosen all four screws slightly before removing any of them.

Remove the shielding plate from the display.

To assemble the device, follow the steps in reverse order.

When connecting connectors to sockets, be careful to insert the connectors exactly into the grooves and do not apply excessive force - you can damage the connectors.

From the end of the removed panel there are still small bolts, which should also be unscrewed from both sides. There is another bolt next to the cable, which must not be forgotten to unscrew. Thus, the display cable and the touchscreen were disconnected. Now the display with a metal frame must be removed. This can be done with a knife.

We take a new display and, if the touchscreen is in order, we assemble the phone. But, if you need to replace the touchscreen, then the removed display must be put aside. In order to separate the touchscreen from the metal frame, you need to take a building hair dryer and heat it around the entire perimeter. After this procedure, the touchscreen should be separated from the frame with a scalpel.

Next, you need to take a double-sided thin tape and stick it around the perimeter on the panel body. The new touchscreen must be glued to the adhesive tape and the phone must be assembled.

Of course, all these manipulations are not difficult, but there is one “BUT”. During such repairs at home, there is a high probability that other parts of the gadget will be affected and damaged, the repair of which will result in a tidy sum.

Good day, dear subscribers. Today I will tell you how to manually replace the screen on the iPhone 5S. Do not confuse with glass replacement, they are two different things. This is exactly the replacement of the new purchased screen.

In general, any repair of Apple equipment will cost you many times more in terms of money than the repair of the same analogues. But this justifies the quality of devices and spare parts. For example, a screen for an iPhone 5s costs about 4-5 thousand rubles, but if you order, for example, on Ebay or Alibaba, you can save a couple of thousand. And if you still pay for the work itself to the master, this is another + 2-3 thousand. Now consider for yourself how much money it will cost you to change the screen on your iphone - about 6-10 thousand rubles, and this is already an almost supported fifth iPhone with a whole screen. True, there are companies whose screen replacement costs no more than 5,000 rubles, including the screen itself + work (more).

But this article is for those who do not want to give their native device to the workshop in order to avoid replacing native parts with some incomprehensible ones (there have been cases) or simply want to save money on repairs. So let's start.

We turn off the phone and remove the SIM card using a non-tricky device, such as a paper clip

Next, go to the bottom of the iPhone, where the headphone jack is, to use the Pentaglobe screwdriver to open the 2 screws there.

After unscrewing the screws, you need to very carefully lift the screen cover using a special tool that looks like a flat screwdriver (or its analogue in the form of a micro screwdriver or a thin knife). After the lid rises, you also need to very carefully run a pick or a plastic card around the entire perimeter of the case, thus disconnecting the screen from the device

All work must be carried out with the utmost care, as it is a matter of very small and fragile parts. In this step, you need to disconnect the screen cables from the fingerprint sensor, as shown in the photo

Now we need to remove all the necessary parts from the old screen to the new one. We unscrew 3 screws from the speaker, remove it. We also disconnect the cables of the front camera, microphone and light sensor.

We also unscrew the "Home" button and disconnect it. In no case do we lose the cogs, otherwise we will have to run to the store.

Now we do the same with the new screen, only instead of disassembling and detaching, we attach and screw everything

If you did everything according to the instructions, very carefully and carefully, then no problems should arise. In general, if you do not have normal tools and experience in disassembling phones or something else, then I still advise you not to save money and replace the screen with your iPhone 5c in a professional workshop. Yes, they will take the job there, but they will do everything efficiently and without consequences. You only need to contact trusted companies that have been on the market for quite a long time and already have some kind of reputation. Otherwise, you can run into incompetent repairmen who, at best, will twist parts from your almost brand new iPhone and replace them with some junk, and at worst, they will simply break the phone, referring to the fact that the phone was already broken.

Even the most advanced smartphones like the iPhone 5 are not immune to damage. In case of an unsuccessful fall on a hard surface, the protective glass of the iPhone may crack, after which it will need to be replaced. Tweezers with crooked paws;

Regular tape;

Antistatic mat;

New display for iPhone 5 (single or bundled with HOME button module).

Now we need to install and connect a new screen. Unfortunately, first you have to disassemble the iPhone a little more.

Remove the HOME button. First, unscrew the screw located in the right corner near the button. After it, unscrew 2 more screws that attach the button to the plate.
Carefully disconnect the cable from the inner panel. Pull out the button module itself by prying it from the opposite side.
Unscrew the remaining 4 screws located around the perimeter of the protective plate. Go to the screw located on the panel near the speaker. Remove the last screw on the front panel. Using tweezers, unfasten the side hooks of the camera and speaker pressure plate. Carefully disconnect their cables from the front panel.
Remove the plate along with the speaker, as well as the front camera.

It's time to reinstall all the missing components under the touch screen plate on the new touch screen: seals, camera frame and tracking sensor frame.

Finally, the last step is the assembly of the iPhone 5. Of course, it is done in reverse order.

Connect the camera and speaker cables in series.
Mount the metal plate so that the edge of the cable lies on top of it. Screw it to the front panel, starting with the speaker mount.
Install the HOME button (opposite of removal steps). After fixing the screws, check its performance.
Connect the cables of the touchscreen, screen and front camera.
Connect the HOME button cable.
Turn on your iPhone and check if it works normally.
After checking the performance, close the iPhone by gently snapping all the fasteners around the perimeter of the case.

Useful advice: We advise you to glue the broken touchscreen with adhesive tape, so it will be easier for you to remove it. In addition, the process will be safer, because sharp fragments of old glass will not scatter throughout the room.

If you plan to disassemble an iPhone, you should purchase a special tool. Set aside any tools at hand, such as a regular screwdriver, a clerical knife or a nail file.

Remember that different screws will come across. Only the iPhone 6 can boast of more variability in fastener sizes than the iPhone 5.

Before opening your iPhone, remove dust from the work surface and set liquid containers away so that you don’t accidentally knock them over with your hand during work.

Finally, carry out the iPhone 5 display replacement operation on a special anti-static mat, which will prevent some elements from failing due to static electricity.
