Hello. Why so sad? Screen broken? Well, to hell with him ... Is it worth getting upset because of this? After all, there are more important things in life. But in general, iPhone screen replacement is not that difficulteven if you do all the work yourself. If your hands do not grow out of the “ass” (sorry) and you have at least some experience with the tool (you can hammer a nail into the wall ... well, or cut it with a jigsaw on plywood), feel free to read the article to the end, where I will tell you how DIY iPhone screen replacement.

In this article you will not find instructions a la "open here, stick here...". Today I will give you more useful information, namely what is needed to replace the iPhone display, where you can buy all this and how to save on repairs by following all the steps yourself (according to the instructions with pictures).

For convenience, this article is divided into 4 steps. Each of which has its own characteristics and nuances. Go!

The fact that the glass cracked, we already understood. Now we need to decide what we are going to change. If the screen is covered with stripes and has become unusable, a complete replacement of the screen module is necessary. If only the glass cracked, and the screen remained intact, many people have the question “So can only replace the glass of the iPhone and thus save on the purchase of a screen module?».

I perfectly understand the desire to save money ... But first, let's figure out how the iPhone screen works and what the iPhone glass replacement process is like.

In fact The iPhone screen is a glued multilayer sandwich of glass, polarizer film, IPS matrix and backlight layer. All these layers are glued together with a special glue with a tricky name. Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive (LOCA), which translates as Liquid Optically Transparent Glue. So, in order to tear off the glass from the screen, you need to try VERY hard, and it’s not a fact that you will succeed. The myths that you can replace ONLY GLASS on an iPhone at home, almost with the help of a bank plastic card, are far from reality.

Video (click to play).

Watch how the glass of the iPhone screen is separated (video below) in professional workshops for the restoration of screen modules. The guys were well prepared and purchased the necessary equipment. A thin metal string is used to separate the glass from the screen. In this case, the screen lies on a heated surface, which in turn softens the adhesive. Reassembly also requires "some skills" ... Well, what am I telling you here. It’s better to see for yourself how professionals restore broken iPhone screens, and then decide for yourself whether you can do the same.

Of course, you can try to separate the glass from the screen without such a gravity cap, but the chance that the screen matrix will simply burst under the onslaught of your hands increases. In addition, at home, doing everything on your knee, you will never get a high-quality assembled screen. That is why I do not recommend restoring/repairing screen modules on your own, but it is better to replace the entire iPhone screen.

There are two ways... The first is to search in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, etc. on local classified sites or online stores accessories for iPhone. Google will help you...

The second way is buy screen for iPhone on AliExpress.com. Personally, I have already ordered screen modules many times on the AliExpress website, and this pleasure cost me $35 (for the iPhone 5C model) ... The price was about two times cheaper than for the same screen, but in Ukraine. When buying on this site, the buyer has about 50 days to confirm receipt of the goods of good quality. If the screen does not suit you for any reason, you can return 100% of the money spent.

Here are links to tested screen modules for different iPhone models:

  • AliExpress: iPhone 4 / 4S - link
  • AliExpress: iPhone 5 / 5C / 5S - link
  • AliExpress: iPhone 6 / 6 Plus - link
  • AliExpress: iPhone 6S / 6S Plus - link for 6S | link for 6S Plus
  • AliExpress: iPhone 7 - link

If you really want to save money, then I would advise you to go the second way and buy an iPhone screen on AliExpress.and then install it yourself. The Chinese have learned how to make good quality screens that are almost indistinguishable from the original. Replacing the iPhone screen is not difficult... it just requires care and precision.

The display usually comes with tools to replace it. But I want to warn you against using at least screwdrivers. They are of such cheap quality that you can easily screw up the bolts at the end of the phone. It is better to immediately throw out these screwdrivers.

But you still need specific tools (pentalobe screwdriver, suction cup, spatulas, tweezers, etc.), which can be purchased for a penny on the same AliExpress. It is better to immediately buy one set, which will include everything you need. For a beginner, a set is suitable, which I recommend at the link below. It includes everything you need to take your iPhone apart down to the last screw.

Now that you have everything you need to replace your iPhone display, all that's left is the repair work. I'm just sure that everyone can do it. Trust me, and you too! There are no tricks here, the main thing is to follow the instructions clearly, take your time and be careful.

Regarding the instructions ... the bourgeois have a very good site ifixit.com, where they lay out detailed manuals for the repair of any equipment, including the iPhone. Below I have provided links to step-by-step instructions for replacing displays of different iPhone models. The guys at ifixit messed around with each tutorial and provided them with macro photos and videos with detailed descriptions.

Screen replacement instructions for different iPhone models:

If you briefly describe the process of replacing the iPhone display, you get the following. Hit is necessary to unscrew the two Pentalobe bolts at the end, disconnect the screen and touchscreen cables, remove the screen, rearrange the camera, light and proximity sensors, as well as the HOME button from the broken screen module to the new one, perform the iPhone assembly steps in reverse order. Easy-peasy… No, well, it really couldn't be easier.

Fair question though. If you yourself change the screen sstsykotno, you need to know how much this service will cost from others. Let's take for example the Total Apple service center with average prices in Moscow. Actually, the prices themselves are lower, well, they include the cost of materials and “slave services”:

Average prices for iPhone display replacement services:

  • iPhone 5S — 3490 rubles ($60)
  • iPhone 6 - 4490 rubles (77$)
  • iPhone 6S - 9990 rubles ($171)
  • iPhone 7 — 19,990 rubles ($342)

If you compare the price with AliExpress with the price of a service center, it becomes clear that self-replacing the iPhone screen will cost two (or more) times cheaper. You can really save money. If I haven't convinced you yet, watch the video tutorials on ifixit.com, there are even girls who disassemble phones, and they do it with ease.

A broken iPhone screen is nothing! Do not be afraid to fix things with your own hands. Try - and you will succeed!

It often happens that the iPhone fell out of the hands, and not only the glass, but also the display itself was broken from a strong blow. Naturally, the smartphone cannot work in this state. As a rule, as proof of this, the working touchscreen of the iPhone 5S is buggy or the touchscreen controller of the iPhone 5S does not respond. Although Apple devices practically do not break as a result of high-quality assembly, unfortunately, a working iPhone display has not yet been invented to be made from unbreakable touch glass. If this happened on your iPhone 5S and a display replacement is required, then you will have to unfasten a tidy sum in a professional service center to restore the screen. How to replace glass and remove on iPhone 5S?

If you have already disassembled iPhones and have an idea how to do it, then this article will help you accurately perform all actions on a device where the screen is buggy, there is no working iPhone 5S display and the touchscreen does not work.

To get started, you must purchase a new display that was released for the iPhone 5S model. The iPhone 5S has a 4-inch Retina display. The screen is covered with a special grease-repellent coating that does not leave fingerprints.Corning Gorilla Glass prevents the screen from nasty and annoying scratches.

This article is devoted to the answer to this question. After studying it, you will have more confidence in your actions to replace the display. Simultaneously with this work, do-it-yourself iPhone 5S glass replacement can also be done. In this article, you will also learn how to change glass on an iPhone 5S quickly and accurately.

The 5S is designed in such a way that replacing the Apple iPhone 5S display module is quite easy. You don't have to be a great professional to do this, but you need to be patient, careful and attentive. Replacing the iPhone se screen requires preparation of work, for which you should prepare the tools necessary for accurately and accurately unscrewing the bolts.

Arm yourself with the necessary tools and improvised means for this disassembly. What should be prepared? Prepare a paperclip to remove the SIM card, a special Pentalobe screwdriver with a “daisy-shaped” tip, a plastic pick knife (can be replaced with a hard plastic spatula), a construction knife with a thin blade, a suction cup with a ring, a set of standard size mini screwdrivers, small containers for screws and bolts, for a touchscreen, liquid for cleaning circuit boards, and, of course, a new screen itself.

If you are ready to change the screen, then we can start following the instructions for the iPhone 5S.

First of all, using the "Power" button, you need to turn off the iPhone 5S. Then pull out the phone card from the iPhone, for which you need to pierce a hole in the card tray with a paper clip at an angle of 45 degrees.

The next step is to replace the module on the iPhone 5S. Let's proceed to the direct disassembly of the iPhone. Let's start by removing the front panel and separating it from the case cover. To do this, using a Pentalobe daisy-shaped screwdriver, you need to unscrew a couple of screws located on the outside on both sides of the USB input at the bottom of the device, near the speakers.

Now, using the sharp metal tip of a construction knife, pry off the back cover of the smartphone from the bottom corner, attach the suction cup under the Home button on the back cover. The suction cup must be fully adhered. Place your smartphone face down on the table and pull the suction cup towards you by the ring. With the other hand, insert the plastic mediator into the resulting slot and horizontally slowly stretch the mediator along the entire slot of the case, snapping off the shutters. Gently lift the liquid crystal screen with a spatula. Special wires go from the screen surface - loops, they cannot be damaged.

You do not need to sharply remove the cover, as you can damage the internal loop of the Home button and render the iPhone completely unusable. After lifting the screen 90 degrees, leave it in the same position to continue working.

Next, very carefully unscrew the red, orange and yellow screws in turn. Slowly remove the metal connector between the battery and the iPhone circuit board. Then, gently using tweezers with curved edges or using a plastic spatula, snap off at the top three consecutive connectors for the light sensor, front camera and microphone cables. Orange color at the digital sensor cable. The red cable is for the front camera and the sensor, and the yellow one is for the screen. Finally, remove the smartphone display.

Now let's take a look at the speaker of the smartphone. To do this, use a screwdriver to disconnect 2 bolts on the iron cover - the holder of the front camera. Take it out and very carefully and carefully release the speaker. Now, using a plastic spatula, we snap off the cable of the front camera in order to further release the front camera itself and the speaker.

Now that the screen is freed from the case, you need to unscrew the 2 screws on the button holder - the iron plate at the location of the Home button, in order to carefully disconnect the cable with the fingerprint sensor and remove the button itself. When removing the cable, pry it with a plastic spatula and shake it from left to right. Remove the touchscreen itself on the iPhone by prying it with a plastic spatula, disconnecting it from the display. The button is free, set it aside.

Picking up a free panel, changing Phillips screwdrivers again, remove 4 screws - two on the sides that hold the panel, one on the bottom and one on top that hold the display, and separate the built-in protective thermoplate of the screen.

After that, fix the protective thermoplate and the button for the whole display. Put all the removed cables back in place by attaching them to the iron plate of the screen of the new display and tighten all the bolts into place.

It remains to connect three connectors to the board and attach it with two pairs of screws. Now connect the touchscreen cable back and screw on the protective plate.

The final touch is to install the cable in place and fasten the case. Now we twist the two bolts at the bottom of the case near the speakers with a Pentaglobe screwdriver.

If everything is finished, it remains to insert the phone card into your iPhone 5S again and start the device.

Congratulations on your successful LCD replacement!

If you also need to change the cracked glass on the iPhone, which is often usually combined, since both of them break when dropped, then we will describe how to replace the glass on the iPhone 5S yourself. Replacing the glass on an iPhone 5 is a simple and short process. However, it requires patience and caution, as haste can damage the display if it can still be activated after being hit.

Usually broken iPhone glass is a grid of broken fragments, so at first it is better to lay a special mat or oilcloth. It is better to do the work with gloves.

To separate the broken glass from the matrix, it is better to use a separator with a heating plane, which directs constantly warm air onto the module. If this is not the case, then you can use a regular hair dryer, fixing it permanently.

The glass must be heated carefully so as not to melt the display, the temperature should not exceed 100 degrees Celsius. In just 7-10 minutes, the adhesive that connects the screen to the glass will melt a little. The iPhone will then become warm. We take a thin metal fishing line and thread it from above between the glass and the touch screen. Slowly and gently cut the space between them, stretching the fishing line from top to bottom. Here you will need patience and accuracy, as the fragments can damage the display.

After separating the broken glass, carefully remove the remaining fragments with tweezers, it is better to blow them off, if possible, or remove them with cotton swabs. You will see a matrix in the remains of glue. Carefully, using a flannel cloth or microfiber, after preliminarily and slightly soaking it in liquid for wiping boards, remove the remaining glue and gently wipe the touch screen with a clean cloth.

Next, we apply a special bone-shaped glue on the bottom and top of the screen and carefully attach the new original glass. You need to fasten gradually in order to avoid the occurrence of air bubbles under the glass. Do not press hard on the glass. Make sure that the glass is correctly fixed around the touchpad button.

After the glue has hardened, turn on your iPhone to check how the iPhone se glass replacement went. If the screen replacement you made does not work well on the iPhone 5S, contact the workshop.
