Once the connector is disconnected, pull the bottom of the module away from the case without disconnecting the top.

In the next few steps, hold the module 90 degrees to the case until you completely detach the front panel.

Remove the following screws securing the front panel cable cover to the system board:

Two 1.7mm Phillips screws
One 1.2mm Phillips screw
One 1.3 mm Phillips screw.

The 1.3mm screw is not magnetized to the magnetic screwdriver. Take care not to lose it when you delete it. When reassembling, make sure this bolt is inserted into its original slot.

Remove the front panel cable cover from the system board.

Use a plastic tool to disconnect the front camera and sensor cable.

... In all subsequent steps, when removing the cable from the socket, be careful and do not use extra force, otherwise you may damage fragile parts of the parts.

Holding the front panel, disconnect the digital sensor cable connector.

Finally, disconnect the connector of the display cable.

... When assembling the phone, the display cable may pop out of the slot. This may result in a white line or blank screen when the phone is switched on. If this happens, simply reconnect the cable and restart the power cycle. The best way to restart the power is to disconnect and reconnect the battery.

Remove the front panel from the back case.

Remove the two screws securing the top speaker cover:

4.0mm Phillips screw;
2.3mm Phillips screw.

Unscrew one Phillips screw that secures the Home button cable.

The retaining screw holds the home button cable to the spring. When reassembling, make sure the contact is held in place - on the side of the screw closest to the display.

Unscrew the cable downward from the bracket for the Home button.

Remove the two 1.4mm Phillips screws from the home button bracket.

Remove the home button bracket from the display.

Use the edge of a plastic tool to disconnect the Home button cable from the module.

Gently press the upper left corner of the Home button to detach it from the front panel.

... Don't press the entire Home button, you just need to free the corner so you can detach it with a plastic tool.

This membrane is very thin, if you feel like you are breaking the button, heat it up and try again.

Detach the Home button from the display by prying gently with a plastic tool.

Remove the Home button from the front panel.

Remove the 2.7mm Phillips screw from the back of the display.

Remove the two 1.2 mm Phillips screws from each side of the display panel (4 in total).

To avoid breaking the last screw, it is recommended to first loosen all four screws slightly before removing any of them.

Remove the shielding plate from the display.

To assemble the device, follow the steps in reverse order.

When connecting the connectors to the sockets, be careful to insert the connectors straight into the slots and do not use excessive force - you may damage the connectors.

Thus, the display cable and touchscreen were disconnected. Now the display with the metal frame needs to be removed. This can be done with a knife.

We take a new display and, if the touchscreen is in order, we assemble the phone. But if you need to replace the touchscreen, then the removed display must be put aside. In order to separate the touchscreen from the metal frame, you need to take a building hair dryer and warm it up around the entire perimeter. After this procedure, the touchscreen must be detached from the frame with a scalpel.

Next, you need to take double-sided thin tape and glue it around the perimeter to the panel body. The new touchscreen must be glued to the tape and the phone must be assembled.

Of course, all these manipulations are not difficult, but there is one "BUT". During such repairs at home, there is a high probability that other parts of the gadget will be touched and damaged, the repair of which will result in a tidy sum.

In general, any repair of Apple equipment will cost you many times more money than repairing the same analogs. But this also justifies the quality of the devices and spare parts. For example, a screen for an iPhone 5s costs about 4-5 thousand rubles, but if you order, for example, on Ebay or Alibaba, you can save a couple of thousand. And if you also pay the master for the work itself, this is + 2-3 thousand more. Now consider for yourself how much it will cost you to change the screen on your iphone - about 6-10 thousand rubles, and this is already almost a supported fifth iPhone with a whole screen. True, there are companies whose screen replacement costs no more than 5,000 rubles, including the screen itself + work (more details).

But this article is for those who do not want to give their own device to the workshop in order to avoid replacing their own parts with some incomprehensible ones (there have been cases) or simply want to save money on repairs. So let's start.

Turn off the phone and remove the SIM card using a simple device such as a paper clip

Next, go to the bottom of the iPhone, where the headphone jack is, so that with the help of the Pentaglobe screwdriver, you can open the 2 screws there.

Having unscrewed the screws, you need to very carefully lift the screen cover using a special tool similar to a flat screwdriver (or its analogue in the form of a micro-screwdriver or a thin knife). After the lid rises, you need, also very carefully, to hold a plectrum or a plastic card around the entire perimeter of the case, thus disconnecting the screen from the device

All work must be carried out very carefully, since it deals with very small and fragile parts. In this step, you need to disconnect the screen cables from the fingerprint sensor, as shown in the photo

Now we need to remove all the necessary parts from the old screen to the new one. Unscrew 3 screws from the speaker, remove it. We also disconnect the cables of the front camera, microphone and light sensor.

We also unscrew the "Home" button and disconnect it. In no case do we lose the cogs, otherwise we will have to run to the store.

Now we do the same with the new screen, only instead of disassembling and disconnecting, we attach and fasten everything

If you did everything according to the instructions, very carefully and accurately, then no problems should arise. In general, if you do not have normal tools and experience in disassembling phones or something else, then I still advise you not to save money and replace the screen with your iPhone 5c in a professional workshop. Yes, they will take to work there, but they will do everything efficiently and without consequences. You just need to contact trusted companies that have been on the market for quite a long time and already have some kind of reputation. Otherwise, you can run into incompetent repairmen who, at best, will twist parts from your almost brand new iPhone and replace them with some old one, and at worst, they will simply break the phone, referring to the fact that the phone has already been broken.

Even the most advanced smartphones like the iPhone 5 are not immune to damage. If it falls unsuccessfully on a hard surface, the protective glass of the iPhone may crack, after which it will need to be replaced. The easiest way, of course, is to immediately take the device to a service center. But you can try to save money and replace the iPhone 5 screen yourself. First, we will dismantle the old screen, then replace it with a new one (with all the elements connected) and reassemble the iPhone.To disassemble the iPhone and replace the display yourself, you will need the following things:

Screwdrivers: pentalobe and Phillips "zero";

iSclack or suction cup with a set of spatulas of different diameters;

Tweezers with curved legs;

Plain tape;

Anti-static mat;

New display for iPhone 5 (standalone or bundled with HOME button module).

Now we need to install and connect a new screen. Unfortunately, first you have to disassemble the iPhone a little more.

Remove the HOME button. First, unscrew the screw located in the right corner near the button. Following it, unscrew 2 more screws that attach the button to the plate.
Disconnect the ribbon cable carefully from the inner panel. Pull out the button module itself by prying it from the opposite side.
Unscrew the remaining 4 screws around the perimeter of the cover plate. Move to the screw located on the panel near the speaker. Remove the last screw on the front panel. Use tweezers to loosen the side hooks of the camera and speaker pressure plate. Carefully disconnect their cables from the front panel.
Remove the plate along with the speaker as well as the front camera.

Now is the time to reinstall all the missing components underneath the touchscreen on the new touchscreen: the seals, camera frame, and track sensor frame.

Finally, the last stage is the assembly of the iPhone 5. It is clear that it is carried out in the reverse order.

Connect the camera and speaker cables in series.
Mount the metal plate so that the edge of the cable rests on top of it. Screw it to the front panel, starting with the speaker mount.
Install the HOME button (the procedure is the opposite of the steps for removal). After fastening the screws, check its functionality.
Connect the cables of the touchscreen, screen and front camera.
Connect the HOME button cable.
Turn on your iPhone and check if it works normally.
After checking the functionality, close the iPhone by gently snapping all fasteners around the perimeter of the case.

Helpful Hint: We advise you to glue the broken touchscreen with tape, so it will be easier for you to remove it. In addition, the process will be safer, because sharp fragments of old glass will not fly around the room.

If you plan to disassemble your iPhone, you should purchase a special tool. Set aside any available tools, such as a regular screwdriver, utility knife, or nail file.

Remember that there will be different screws. Only the iPhone 6 can boast of more variability in the size of fasteners than the iPhone 5.

Before opening your iPhone, remove dust from the work surface and set aside containers with liquid so as not to accidentally topple them with your hand during operation.

Finally, use an anti-static mat to prevent damage to certain elements from static electricity.
