I, of course, do not propose to restore all fur coats in a row like this. I just came up with such a decision, I decided to share the idea. And whether this is acceptable in each individual situation must be considered.
As for the color, if the fur is black, dark brown, or, conversely, light or white, then the difference will not be striking. And honorik also has dark stripes along the ridge, and the vertical seams are clearly pronounced, so the difference in shade between adjacent skins is the last thing that draws attention to.
And about the height of the cut strip, it is also individual here. Sometimes you see this in stores. We need to figure out what will turn out, how it will look, maybe it will not be so striking. If the skins are initially long enough, then it is not very noticeable that they were shortened. Before that, you can fold the hem and see how it will look.

I post a photo of an elementary way to restore the worn edge of the sleeve. Any beginner can handle it!
Sleeve with a turn-up (a strip of fur inside the sleeve that can be folded out). The fold of the fur along the bottom of the sleeve moved from the seam to the inside of the sleeve during wear. The pile was rubbed down to the bald spot, but on a very narrow strip (about 3 mm).
- Tore off the lining and straightened the cuffs
- cut with a blade along the shabby area
- neatly cut off the shabby area along the edges of the resulting cut (you can see the waste in the photo)))
- sewed the incision back with a furrier suture
- if necessary, you can moisten and straighten the restoration site. I didn't have to do this, everything turned out not noticeably
- Thoroughly comb the pile on the seam.
The last photo shows a bright area of ​​fur where there was a bald spot. The camera brightens, and so it is almost invisible. It is also necessary to moisten and comb the pile in the other direction.
After that, I fixed (quilted) the cuffs so that the fold no longer shifted from the horizontal seam, sewed on the lining. For everything about everything, no more than an hour.

A fur coat is an expensive and luxurious outerwear. Most often, its cost starts at $ 1,000. Therefore, each owner takes care of it and tries to do everything possible to make it last as long as possible.

But it is far from always possible to preserve the appearance of a fur product. Improper care, poor workmanship, and manufacturing errors can all lead to holes or seam divergence. In such a situation, a question arises for the hostess: to ask for help in the studio or to do everything with her own hands?

The armpits on a fur coat are one of the weakest and most vulnerable places. It is here that a product made from natural fur is torn most often. You can fix such a defect with your own hands. To do this, you need the following tools:

- a couple of needles of various sizes;

- threads that match the color of the fur.

The simplest and most easily eliminated injury is when the fur coat tore under the armpit along the seam. In this case, you only need to flash the attachment point twice. It is also necessary to securely fix the threads of the previous seam in order to prevent it from unraveling again.

Action plan:

• First of all, you need to dry the fur product, for which it needs to be laid out on a flat surface.
• Next, you need to connect the torn edges and sew them together.
• After that, you should cut off a small piece of the bandage, pour a little glue on it and attach it to the seam.
• Now let the fur coat dry.
• Do not hang it on a hanger or touch it for a day or two.

In the list of reasons why the skin is torn, you should include poor dressing of skins or old fur. Also, poor care often leads to damage to the seamy side of the product.

To get rid of the defect, you can simply sew up the fur at home. Best for this furrier hand stitch... It is performed like this:

1. Gently fold the flesh with the hairs inward.
2. Next, you need to sew from right to left. The seam should resemble a standard overlock seam. The main difference is that the needle is stuck in the same place twice. As a result, the joint on the back will become almost flat.
3. It is very important, after finishing the darning, to unfold the fur product and iron the seam with a thimble, after moistening it.

Such simple actions make it possible to make the bonding site absolutely invisible either to the touch or in appearance.

If it was not possible to sew the flesh and it still breaks, then it must be strengthened by gluing a thin strip of fabric or leather. But do not use super glue for this, as it will simply crack at the break.

How else to glue a fur coat made of mink, nutria, muton and rabbit? Moment glue is a good choice. But it is very important to put a piece of soft thin fabric on the torn part. This will make the seam much more secure.

If any part of the fur product is torn at the seam, then you can repair everything yourself. This requires:

1. Place the damaged parts together.
2. Place a layer of gauze or similar cloth on top.
3. Secure the parts together with pins.
4. Glue everything together using Moment glue or another solution intended for gluing suede or leather.

If everything was done correctly, then the seam will be restored and will last for many more years. In this case, the appearance of the fur coat will not be spoiled.

Most often, fur products are torn at the sleeve or back. To properly sew up the hole on the back of the fur coat, you must first rip off the lining and insulation. Next, cut out and put a patch on the damaged area.

The patch is sewn to the place of break with the help of threads to match the fur and needles. It is sewn using a standard marking line. After the completion of the restoration, tap the damaged area with a wooden mallet. This will make the fur much smoother.

In the case of the sleeve, you need to open the side seam and open the lining. If the gaps are even, then you can do the repair yourself. Otherwise, the best and correct solution would be to seek help from a specialist.

If a hole appears on the sleeve under the arm, then to correct such a defect, a piece of fur must be inserted and securely sewn on. You can buy it either in the atelier, or cut it off from another fur product, if it will be redrawn in the future. If the hole is small, then you can only do with soft glue. In this case, a rubber solution would be the ideal solution.

Best of all, astrakhan fur coats lend themselves to repair. Due to the wavy structure of the fur, the seam will be completely invisible. Therefore, you can restore such products as often as you want.
