Smoking in the car is not a good idea, but sometimes it is difficult to resist this addiction.
Firstly, smoking in the car is simply dangerous due to the fact that it is distracting, a person relaxes, acrid cigarette smoke can get into the eyes and at a critical moment a cigarette can lead to disastrous consequences. The second unpleasant moment is the side effects of the well-known addiction - not very pleasant residual smell of tobacco in the car, ash lying everywhere and, most unpleasant, burnt places.
A coal of tobacco can fall on the seat upholstery, you can accidentally wave your hand and put out your cigarette on the front pillar, some particularly lucky comrades even burn the ceiling!
What to do in this case? After all, a burned-out seat is not at all aesthetically pleasing. For many people, the interior of a car is a kind of visiting card. In addition to the appearance of the car, the second thing that almost any person draws on is the neatness of the car's interior.
The burnt hole must be repaired. There are three ways. The first - high-quality, but costly - will turn to specialized services offering services for restoring the original type of car.
The second is less costly, but much more complicated, to purchase a kit for upholstery repair.
This path is different in that it will send you to a professional car service with a probability of 80%. Without certain skills, it will not be easy to make high-quality repairs on your own with the help.
Fortunately, there is a third option. It only requires accuracy, a minimal set of tools that you can find at home and a minimum of time. Nevertheless, the result will pleasantly surprise you!
In an inconspicuous place, for example, at the bottom of the seat, take a razor and shave off the required amount of upholstery fibers.
Collect the fibers in a small container. The fibers of the upholstery material will look like plain fluff.
Using tweezers, scribble the extracted material onto the glue. Don't tamp it!
Reapply a thin layer of adhesive over the fibers. More accurate! Do not drop into undamaged areas.
Using tweezers, lay in some more fibers until the hole is completely filled with them.
Take a piece of any thick fabric. We will use it as a substrate. Cut out a rectangular patch. Round the edges. This will make it easier to push it into the hole and straighten it under the upholstery.
We take fabric glue and a needle. Apply glue to the needle and process the patch as shown in the video (43 seconds). Gently apply glue so that the scarf does not move from its place.
Apply glue to the resulting backing. You can also use an external patch, as shown in the video. This does not change the essence.
The most crucial moment. Gluing a piece of fabric onto the seat upholstery. Where can I get the material for the patch? It can usually be cut from the bottom of the seat.
For a quality repair, it is very important that the pattern of the outer patch matches the overall pattern of the seat. Here you have to measure seven times, cut once. You will succeed, we believe in you!
We press the supplied scarf. We are waiting for a couple of minutes.

The authorities began an implacable fight against smokers. The editorial board of the "GAI" magazine turned out to be much more tolerant. In our opinion, a car is not only a means of transportation. The car, as a rule, is also a place of our freedom, where we can indulge in vicious passions in full: listen to our favorite music at full volume, chat with friends and girlfriends without extra ears, smoke a cigarette, and everything else ... Therefore, we decided to fight not with smoking, but with its consequences. Olga Medvedeva, Sales Director of the GAI magazine, mastered the technology of reanimating the upholstery with a burnt cigarette in one of the city's car wash complexes.
Smoke break before work
This lesson turned out to be the most unusual one we have ever been taught. Firstly, the co-founder of the car wash complex Semyon Syskov, who personally supervised the process, gave me maximum freedom of action. Secondly, at all stages of training, he gave extremely positive assessments, accompanying my actions with the words "excellent", "excellent result", "I like it." And he also allowed experimenting, convinced that any technology gives only a general theory, and every master has the right to look for suitable methods of work. And although the experiment was unsuccessful, this did not affect the final result in any way. Looking ahead, I will say that such a pedagogical approach seemed ideal to me: from the first time I managed to close up the prosecutor so that not a trace remained of it. There was only a great mood in which I stayed until the end of the working day. And this lesson began in an unusual way.
- Hello, are there any smokers? Bring a cigarette and a lighter, - Semyon greeted us, stroking the gray headrest, which he had prepared in advance for work.- We'll have a smoke before work, and at the same time we will make a burn-through in the upholstery, with which we will fight. Quite often, headrests and seats burn in cars.
The headrest was a "working material" taken from an old car, so I dealt with it mercilessly. Generally, non-combustible materials are used in cars: they are poorly flammable, but they melt well. Boldly shaking off the ash, I made a decent and rather deep hole in the headrest.
For our city (I think, for Russia), the technology of reanimation of burn-throughs is a relatively new service, although it has existed in the West for a long time. Maybe that's why a special set for this operation, including colored cut microfiber, pencils, scissors, tweezers, spatula, iron, spray gun, liquid and powder glue, has to be bought abroad. The domestic auto industry has nothing to be proud of yet: the production of such art sets for a motorist has not yet been established in the country.
The clock was 11:05. We timed the time to know the timing of the procedure, and got down to work.
My arts
First of all, I sand the edges of the hole. Then I carefully cut the edge with nail scissors. - We are not in a hurry. A car is an expensive thing, so you need to do everything with high quality and with pinpoint accuracy, - Semyon admonishes.
After that, I lift the edges of the fabric with tweezers to tuck the patch under them. I also take the material for her from the "magic suitcase". I cut out a small square and use a pair of tweezers to tuck it under the edges of the upholstery to close the hole.
- There is nothing difficult in patching holes, - Semyon oversees the work. - Anyone can handle it, any prosecutor, in principle, can be repaired by himself, if he had pens and a desire. This is where the work of the jeweler and seamstress ends, and we begin to work as a colorist.
I take out jars of cut microfiber from the suitcase to match the color of the headrest material. There are dozens of shades and colors of them, but there is no ready-made one. Therefore, I begin to select the right one. I take a gray close to the main one as a basis and use tweezers to put the villi into a glass jar. I add a little dark gray to it, then more black. I close the jar and mix with a spray bottle. The color turned out to be close, but something is missing in it.
- In the native fabric there is a little bit of blue, if we add a little gray with a bluish tint, it will be just right, - Semyon unobtrusively prompts, but he does not touch the jars himself. Today I am given complete independence.
All this resembles the work of a master in the selection of car enamel - once I was already mastering this profession. By the way, in the car wash complex, this is exactly what professional colorists are doing. Only with the computer selection of paint are specially developed color formulas used, paint is added by grams, but here you have to mix everything by eye.
But my eyes did not seem to fail me. I pour the mixture onto a plastic tray, add liquid glue in a ratio of 70 to 30 by eye, mix until smooth and spread the mixture on a patch. And only then it becomes clear that I made two mistakes. First, after adding the glue, the mixture became lighter than the main fabric of the upholstery. And I also saved - I have no material left for the second layer, which is prepared from a mixture of sheared pile and powder glue.
Repetition is the mother of learning
- So, we will have to do the coloring again and make another portion. Not scary, repetition is the mother of learning. While according to the technology the first layer will dry for 15 minutes, we will just do everything.
Again I start mixing the villi. Taking into account the mistakes, I add more dark color. Of course, I'm not a professional colorist who finds the right combination at a moment's notice. But soon another portion is ready. It must be thoroughly mixed with powder glue in the same proportion. There are subtleties here.If you overdo it with glue, the surface will start to shine, if you don't report it, it won't hold well.
The villi do not mix well with the powder, and Semyon and I decide to move away from the technology and experiment: I put everything in a jar and mix it with a spray bottle. But the experiment failed: it turns out that the powder glue settles on the glass. Therefore, I add a little more glue, mix with a spatula and spread it in an even layer in the place of the prosecutor. I take on an iron heated to 170 degrees, which needs to "smooth" the surface, but Semyon stops. It turns out that on top of the second layer, you also need to spray a clean microfiber mixture without glue.
Finally, I iron the place of the prosecutor through a special cloth. Here, too, there are secrets - how many times and for how many seconds you need to hold the iron, but let it remain my little secret.
When everything was ready, I already called to evaluate the quality of the work of the main critic - our photographer, a graduate of an art school and an architectural institute. But then it turned out that under the iron the mixture thickened and settled. Therefore, I had to repeat this procedure again. Ready. I got into the color perfectly. But the place of the prosecutor's office shines a little.
- Glue shifted? - No, it's okay. At a certain angle, the gloss is not noticeable even now. But according to the technology, everything should dry for three hours, after which we will treat this place with a protective spray, go over it with a dry brush and there will be no trace left. Excellent result.
The clock was 12:05. The entire procedure for resuscitation of the headrest, which now looked like new, took exactly an hour, together with the correction of errors. Fast and efficient.
The material was prepared by the "GAI" magazine.
During operation, not only the technical parts and mechanisms of the car wear out. The interior of the car is also exhausting its resource. Like any detail, the car interior experiences some stresses associated with the driver, passengers, transportation of various goods, which can not only cause a mechanical defect, but also often simply contaminate the interior, from which the upholstery also deteriorates.
Almost everyone can restore damaged upholstery
Almost any car owner, and even more so car enthusiasts, will clearly be upset by the appearance of any damage in the interior of their favorite car. The defect will constantly be conspicuous, as a result of which the owner will experience discomfort, passengers will begin to ask questions reminiscent of wear and tear. And if the car is sold, the buyer will have a significant opportunity to reduce the price and will be right in some way, which will not please the seller in any way.
There are several ways to solve this problem. The first method is the easiest, but also the most expensive. In this case, the owner will have to give his vehicle to a workshop for the repair and hauling of the car interior. In this case, you will have to pay for materials that are sold with a wrap, as well as for the work of a master, which can turn out to be a tidy sum.
How much is the service life of the car and how to increase it - find out here.
Also here you will learn what to do if the car engine gets very hot.
The second way is to do it yourself. All that is required in this case is materials, tools and the main condition for success is accuracy and care. Before starting the repair, it is worth rhinestone to assess the severity of the defect, as well as assess the very condition of the interior as a whole, because is it worth repairing one small hole when the entire interior is in a deplorable state.
If the owner cares about cleanliness and tidiness and nevertheless the repair makes sense, then the following procedures must be performed:
First you need to figure out the material of the upholstery.If you use leather, then it is not so easy to burn off, there will be no hole, but a trace may remain, which can be cleaned up at a sink or dry-cleaner. If the usual fabric or velor, then the situation is more complicated. First of all, you will need to clean the entire interior from dirt and dust. This procedure can be carried out on your own, if you do not want, then you can go to the car wash, where they will do everything for you. Why is it so important to wash everything first? This is due to the fact that you will need to see the color of the interior, and the place of the patched hole, and it is desirable that the color does not diverge.
To estimate the size of the hole based on the size, we will understand how much material will have to be obtained, and how difficult the repair procedure will be.
When you have decided on the size, you need to carefully cut the adhered thread along the perimeter of the hole. Accuracy and confidence of movements is very important here. Do not cut too much, this will once again increase the hole diameter. Only the burnt part needs to be cut off. This step is done so that after the repair the patched hole does not continue to cling to anything, which can cause a hole to re-form in the old place.
This step is optional, but if you suddenly do not have time to finish the repair, or there are no materials, then carefully sew up the hole with a needle and thread to avoid further growth in the diameter of the flaw. Or, this method of solving the problem is also suitable for those who do not make sense to restore one hole, because the interior is in poor condition. And to patch up, in this way, the hole will also be useful, at least now nothing will cling to the burnt tissue, and in which case the further development of the hole will be prevented.
In the case of buying a fabric, you need to choose a new fabric very accurately in terms of composition and color, if there is an opportunity to make such an acquisition, then it is excellent. If not, then you will have to extract the material and fibers of the fabric with your own hands. To do this, you need a fairly sharp tool, old machine razors or straight razors are ideal. After you have acquired a cutting tool, you need to carefully collect the fibers of the fabric, this is done on an inconspicuous part of the seat somewhere below, the main thing to remember is not to cut the fabric, but simply to collect small threads, that is, the structure itself.
If you have temporarily stitched up your defect, then it's time to expose it. Next, we take an ordinary fabric of a simple color, or white or black does not play a role here. We also purchase special glue for joining fabrics. It can be purchased at textile stores. And we glue our extracted fabric to the upholstery of the car interior from the inside of the hole. Filling the entire chair with glue is not worth it, it can ruin all efforts, you need to glue strictly the part where the hole is. You need to glue it carefully, perhaps once it will not be enough, then you will have to repeat the procedure. Now it remains to wait until everything is dry.
Now you need to cut off a piece of purchased fabric, or collect all the fibers obtained earlier. Then fill our hole and the fabric glued to it from the inside with the same glue. Then carefully insert a new cloth, or use fibers to fill the hole. In the case of using the extracted material, you need to fill in all the problems so that the pasted fabric is not visible. Then we wait until everything dries up, and repeat the procedures again, only if we used fiber from the salon.
In general, the repair of the pierce can be considered complete. This method of eliminating the "burn" is suitable not only for restoring seats, but also for removing cuts and holes in the ceiling of the car, door cards and various items treated with fabric. The procedure itself is simple, such manipulations can be performed by every neat and attentive person.
There are many more ways to rehabilitate the appearance of the salon, but perhaps they will be more difficult.Such methods include the use of more special glue or solution, as well as the use of paint, the tone of which will have to be tormented to match the main color. Such methods are more used by professionals, so it is better they, thus, repair flaws.
Repairing a burned-out car seat is not particularly difficult. Almost everyone can do it.

As you can see, everything is quite simple. If you care about your car, then this article will be very useful to you. Using the advice above, you can easily eliminate some minor defects without the help of specialists on your own. Also, after the repair, if you want to additionally save the state of your interior, you can purchase special covers for your seats, this will additionally protect them from outside influences, thereby prolonging their life and good condition.
Today, the car is no longer just a means of transportation and has become perhaps the only place where we can feel complete freedom: listen to our favorite music at full volume, chat with friends without witnesses, calmly smoke a cigarette without fear of being fined for smoking in a public place. But as they say, you have to pay for the pleasure and the payback catches up with us in the form of burned seats. Therefore, in this article, we decided to share a way to restore the trim of the passenger compartment seats with our own hands.
We repair burn-throughs on car seats
For this purpose, we need a special kit, otherwise called a repair kit, however, in Russia, the restoration of seat upholstery by a local method is not yet very common. Such a procedure can most likely be ordered in specialized workshops, but if you want to do the repair yourself, then you will most likely have to order the repair kit from abroad. The local planking repair kit includes the following items:
- colored, sheared microfiber, imitating pile;
Work description
- we clean the edges of the burn-through with a fine sandpaper, then with miniature scissors from the set, carefully and slowly cut the edge around it;
- then we lift the edges of the fabric around the burn-through with tweezers so that you can put a special patch from the material included in the kit under them (cut out the patch of the required size and place it under the edges of the burn-through with tweezers);
The jewelry work is over, now it's time for color. In our case, the burn-through is on the velor upholstery, so we need a sheared microfiber, which is in the set, in different jars and has different colors.
We select a microfiber that matches the color of the surface to be repaired, if the set lacks the desired color, we try to get it by mixing villi of different shades, but so that the color of the villi is a little darker, because after adding glue, the mixture will become a little lighter.
The next step is to add special glue to the microfiber fibers. We do all this on a special tray. The proportion is about 70 to 30. Stir everything with a spatula until a homogeneous mass is obtained and spread this mass on the prepared patch in an even layer.
Advice: try not to disturb the proportions, because if the glue is more than the required amount, the restored surface will shine and shine, but if there is not enough glue, the composition will not adhere well.
We warm up the iron to a temperature of 170 degrees, sprinkle the burn-through with clean microfiber without glue, put on top of a special cloth from the set and iron our construction through it with an iron for several seconds.
After heat treatment, the repair mixture may sag somewhat, therefore, if necessary, the entire procedure described above should be repeated.At the end of the work, we leave everything to dry for several hours, after which we will treat this place with a special protective spray from the kit and go over it with a slightly special brush.
The burn-through repair work is over, the result is beyond praise.

You always try to be as careful as possible, and even more so in the car, because it's like a second home.But sometimes incidents happen that may not even depend on you. For example, someone accidentally dropped a cigarette butt or shook off the ashes on the seat and that's it - the upholstery is burned through, and the interior appearance is ruined.
In modern cars, special synthetic materials are used for seat upholstery, which are easy to maintain, but they quickly burn out when ash gets in. The fabric on modern cars is made of a material that quickly burns out and a touch with a cigarette butt causes a burn-through, which is very noticeable. When you are driving, you may not even notice how you shook off the ashes, because your task is to closely monitor the road, not the cigarette.
Previously, burn-through was a serious problem, because in order to return the car's interior to its original appearance, it was necessary to re-tighten the entire seat. Fortunately, now the service of repairing burn-throughs on car seats will not take you a lot of time and money, because they simply put a special nap on the fabric seat on the problem area, and the burn-through on the leather seat is filled with liquid leather, which will be almost impossible to distinguish from the original.
But you must understand that the further you delay with this cosmetic repair, the more money you will have to pay for the service. After all, if the burn-through is in the place with which you or passengers often come into contact, then over time this can aggravate the problem. But if everything is done on time, then you can be sure that the repair will not take much of your time and money.

Seat upholstery repair
Long-term operation of a vehicle negatively affects not only its technical condition, but also the appearance of the car, including the attractiveness of its interior. Of course, a shabby or torn car seat will not only create discomfort for the driver and passengers, but may even pose a danger when driving on the roads. That is why DIY car seat repair is an important topic.
How do you know when your car seats need repairs? In fact, everything is quite simple here. As soon as you stop liking their appearance, or staying in the salon becomes extremely inconvenient, and the former functions will no longer differ in the same reliability, then you can certainly assert the need for repair actions.
The most common problem that requires work on restoring car seats is the worn out trim in the area of the cushions and armrests, and it is visible even to the naked eye: some parts of the seats change color over time, crack and acquire a very repulsive appearance.
However, this is not the worst thing yet. There are also more serious problems, such as damage to the operation of the spring base and a malfunction of the frame or seat pad. You can also determine these malfunctions during operation, when the once comfortable seat seems terribly uncomfortable to you.
Mechanical defects not related to long-term use of the vehicle should be grouped into a separate group. In particular, they include burn-throughs, tears, cuts and broken bases caused by the impact of any large load or simply careless handling of the car owner.
Depending on the type of damage, the appropriate way to eliminate the problem that has arisen is also chosen: whether it be repairing the upholstery or replacing metal parts in the base of the car seats. In any case, you will need the appropriate tools and materials.
To get started, prepare a few pieces of new upholstery, because such common scuffs, severe cuts and scratches are mainly eliminated with their help. The color and quality of the purchased material completely depends on your preferences, but the main thing is that the interior looks harmonious as a result. Suitable for work synthetic, artificial or even natural leather, as well as any other upholstery fabric. Of the tools, hand sewing needles, an awl, glue and several types of thread are useful. If minor damage is present in the leatherette or velor trim, then special compounds that can be found in any car store will help to eliminate them.
Mounting and dismantling the chair, as well as correcting frame defects will require the use of a set of wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, a hammer, and a hacksaw. Also, the presence of a vacuum cleaner will be useful, which will help clean the seats before doing all the work.
Like any other activity, repairing leather, velor or other types of vehicle seats involves a series of steps.
If the problem is only minor damage (for example, a cut or burn-through), then after cleaning the required area, you can proceed to the direct elimination of the problem using the previously purchased repair kit. However, in the event that the problem lies much deeper, and the tilting mechanism or heating system needs repair, then the chair will have to be disassembled completely. It is most comfortable to perform this task on a table with a workbench. You can unscrew the fasteners on either side of the seat using a conventional screwdriver. It is better to put the backrest with a pillow aside for the time being, so that, if necessary, later repair it.
In the event of a malfunction of the spring block or a complete replacement of the casing, you will have to dismantle the old material from the seat. To do this, all the seams on the damaged seat are gently loosened with a sharp knife. To quickly complete the task, the fabric should be well pulled so that all the seams are clearly visible. Also, at the preparatory stage, all the tools necessary for subsequent work are collected.
In the course of active use of the car, it is often necessary to replace the tilting mechanisms, which are responsible for changing the position of the seat back. This type of car seat repair is quite laborious, so it is better not to take it to extremes and constantly monitor the operation of the tilting mechanism. If any faults or jams are found, they can be easily repaired with lubricant.
In the process of replacing the reclining mechanism that adjusts the angle of the back of the car seat, all repair actions are performed in the following sequence:
• first remove the trim (located at the base of the pillow);
• then unscrew all fastening bolts holding the lower link of the hinges at the very base of the car seat, and, having got rid of the axis located on the opposite side of the backrest, dismantle the backrest itself;
• the upper link of the hinges must be cut off at the base of the backrest frame, and then fix the new mechanism with bolts at the very bottom of the cushion;
• the top link should be placed in the desired position so that all holes can be aligned;
• using an axle, the cushion should be connected to the backrest:
• the position of the part, put the back and weld the hinges to it.
Often there is a need to repair electrically heated car seats. Of course, this is a much more difficult task than adjusting the tilt mechanism. First of all, do not forget that when all loops are disconnected, the on-board computer of the vehicle generates an error that can only be eliminated by specialists from service stations. In addition, if the chair has a built-in airbag, then self-repair should be ruled out altogether, since any inept influence will entail the appearance of errors in the operation of the computer. In order not to risk it, it is better to immediately seek professional help.
If you have the skills of an electrician, then you can independently check the health of the wires and plugs. But heating repair can be performed only if you own a vehicle without an on-board computer, otherwise, there is no point in turning off the heating for the sake of self-repair (as mentioned above, a competent re-tuning of the on-board computer can only be performed at a service station).
For those who nevertheless decided to repair car seats with their own hands, you need to know that this procedure requires a responsible approach and a lot of patience.
Get rid of scratches and scuffs
The easiest way to repair car seats is to remove scratches and scuffs on the leather upholstery. If only the paint layer that has been applied to the surface is damaged, then for repair purposes you will need either a special spray paint or an appropriate polish with a filler.
After checking, prepare the damaged area for future repair work by cleaning it of dirt and dust, thoroughly drying it and degreasing it. All further repair measures include applying paint to the scratch, followed by drying and polishing. When applying the coloring material, it is necessary to avoid the formation of smudges, since it will be problematic to remove them, and instead of restoring the skin on the car seats, you will only aggravate their condition. After painting, all that remains is to polish the restored area and enjoy the result.
It is quite possible that in your case the car interior is not leather, but, say, velor, then to eliminate defects you will need a needle, threads and patterns that can be made from fragments of old upholstery. When choosing a repair kit, you must pay attention to one important detail: all fibers included in the kit must be of different colors. Using a special brush and glue (or spray), fibers of the appropriate color and texture are applied to the damaged area of the seat. To fix the result, the restored area is covered with a Teflon film and ironed with an iron.
Eliminate tears and cuts
Today, a fairly large number of products for the care and repair of car seats in the vehicle interior are presented on the market. Therefore, if you need to restore the car seat, then there should be no problems with the selection of material.
Restoring leather seats will require a little more effort and a liquid leather replica, along with a mesh and a suitable repair kit. All irregularities (for example, the edges of a cut) are carefully sanded with a sandpaper. After that, a fine plastic mesh is applied to the cut or tear and the area is filled with liquid skin.
Special repair compounds can also help with the repair of the leather interior, the whole point of using which is to fill a small defect with a special mixture that not only closes up an unnecessary hole, but also helps to restore the texture of the skin. To achieve this result, a special composition is applied to the whole part of the seat, which, after drying, is able to copy the texture of the leather upholstery.After that, the resulting film is carefully removed and applied to the damaged area, previously filled with polymer mass. At the final stage, iron the treated area through a Teflon pad.
The fabric interior is restored with a patch of the desired shape made from the same material (parts of the old interior can be used). To recreate the color, you need to choose the right paint and paint the new elements of the chairs with the help of the color scheme. Such restoration of car seats perfectly helps to hide the most noticeable damage.
The restoration of the plastic elements of the seat follows a similar scenario, only all cracks, chips and holes are filled with a granular composition that ideally imitates the plastic surface. At the final stage, the damaged area is painted with paint of the appropriate color. If the work is done correctly, no one will notice any traces of damage.
We restore the seams
There are situations when the factory seams simply diverge on the seats. Basically, all that is required of the car owner is to sew the ripped sections back together. To do this, it is necessary to dismantle the seat in order to see the reverse side of the tear site. After you get unhindered access to the area of interest, you need to pry off with a needle those places where the seam is most weakened. Thus, the tip of the thread is pulled out. After that, you need to pull on the thread to strengthen the seam in the undamaged place. By tying the thread in a knot, you can avoid further seam divergence.
Direct restoration of car seat seams involves the implementation of several sequential steps: first, three stitches must be retreated from the end of the thread, having found a hole there from the old seam. Then all the layers of the seat are collected in one pile: after passing the clip with a needle through all the layers of the seat, it is necessary to leave it in this position and insert a thread into the eyelet. The needle is then pulled back by pulling the thread outward through all the layers of the seat. After finding the next hole from the last seam, thread the needle through it and sew all the layers again. Thus, a loop should form, and if you thread the thread through it, you will get a knot.
The process continues until it is possible to sew everything to the end. Having tied the last knot, cut off the excess ends of the thread and inspect the seam from the front side - the tear should be completely eliminated.
